Personality

Personality: A loner whose only concerns lie with Ballad, he himself cares not for his own life for he would lay it down for her within seconds. Can be very overbearing when he believes Ballad is in danger or could quite possibly be in danger. Runic is a caring soul and would give his cloak freely to a child in need he is every bit the hero he has trained so hard to be. At times he can be very mysterious and has been known to be the wanderer even when in the service of Ballad's father he would leave during the night and journey to the village that still claims his child hood nightmares.

Likes: The Moon, Night life in general, Playing his lute.
Dislikes: Putting Ballad in danger, seeing others suffer, fighting with no cause.

Equipment

Elven Yew Bow: Crafted by himself when he began the knight's hood trials so that he could help the provide for Ballad's family. The bow was given firey properties when he introduced Ash wood into it's lotus vine pull string.

Dragon Bone Lute: Another item he found battle scarred within his parents ruined home, by playing it sometimes he is able to summon creatures with haunting melodies. It's other purposes are to entertain Ballad and himself with vastly skilled songs.

Sky Rune Talisman: Found on him when Ballad's father and his hunting party found the war scarred child hiding up in a tree.

Sapphire Necklace: Gifted to him by Ballad's grandmother who saw in him a bright future, and loved him as if he was her own.

Magi Gauntlets: A pair of gauntlets crafted for him by a member of Ballad's father's hunting party, because he believed in Runic and could see the power that the young man hid even at the earlier stages of his life. The gauntlets themselves allow Runic to harness his abilities as well as stem the flow of power so he is not taken over.

Father's Sword: Though Runic can't remember his family he remembered his father's sword and found it in a torched hut several days after the destruction of his home village. The sword is abnormal from normal elven blades unlike the slanted scimitar's of the elven race this sword is broad and double edged. Laced with treasures along its hilt and in its cross guard, the blade glows in the moon light suggesting that it has magical properties. He has named the sword Nova for the glint it give off in the moon's light.

History

Runic's true past is hidden by the war that came down upon his village when he was just a boy. His story truly begins when he was found by his beloved's father. The day was sunny and the wind was blowing hard yet slightly calm for the time of year. The hunting party approached a tree gifted by nature with rune's of the sky, but the tree itself was not the peculiar sight as it was really the wild elf boy who sat up in the highest branch growling at the hunting party. The child was obviously not from around the forest for his hair was black and tipped at the edges with a silvery blue tint, the boy's eyes were violet and betrayed his emotions showing the fear that the boy carried from being alone and left by his long since dead family.

The hunting party knew that they couldn't leave the child up in the tree so after many hours of coaxing the wild child they were finally able to snare him and bring him down. The hunting party returned to their kingdom without any game but with a wild child in tow. Between them all the head of the hunting party chose to take the boy in clothe him and teach him how to be proper. Soon it became clear that the child's wild tendecies could not be so easily forgotten so the noble man sent the child to work in the stable where he truly grew up. They named the boy Runic for the sky rune tree he was found in. Because the boy never spoke other then in clicks, and growls the noble man figured that maybe the boy's true people were more intuned with nature and viewed them as savages.

At the age of twenty Runic was a proper as he could possibly be and when Ballad was born he spoke his first words, "My lord it is truly a grand sight to see something so beautiful enter this world". Those words shocked the noble man and his family, they began making Runic stay away from the home because they feared his influence on Ballad would make her care for him. Though it was tough for through the years he would make it tough on them as he made himself more known around the household watching Ballad as she grew up. In the elven way age was not of matter as to where nobility played its rule to them he was no more then a common street urchin. It wasn't until Ballad's mother passed that he truly had a influence on her life when she was in so much pain from the loss he would comfort her by playing his lute. His love for her only grew as time went on and when the chance to be her knight came he risked life and limb to go through the rigorous training only for when the fifteen years passed and he returned her father would not allow it. Their love caused them both to be banished from the village now they travel together where ever the moon shines the path.

Runic's Story

The door to the bar opened again for another visitor whose identity was sealed by a long large black hooded cloak that swept across the floor when he walked. The first two steps across the threshold allowed him to sense the type of people around him at least within a five foot radius. The tales from the village were more then true this place called Gambit's housed many species of people.

Runic walked slowly his left gauntlet cloaked and grasping the handle of what could only be a sword. He was not oing to readily attack any one but this is so he himself could be ready for anything. Runic's eyes lingered on Ballad as he sat down in a chair across from her completely cloaked in his hooded black cloak, he bega whistling an elven ballad from their village while playing with items deep in his cloak. Within moments a cob pipe was produced aswell as a bag of smoking tobacco. With hands blazng so fastly he put the tobacco in a pipe and lit it up taking a long drag off the pipe. From below his hood a smoke ring was blown.

Runic whispered within the elven language knowing that she would hear him and probably be the only one who could understand him, "Here I am my dear look for the yellow smoke", said the whisper where it would linger in the air. Runic's grip on his blade handle tightened as he watched the monster holding Ballad a fight with a Vampire would not be such a battle easily overcomed. It would take time skill and all the magic he possessed. Lyrics came with the whistling singing the song in the elven language, "Over fields and under hills the lady of the moon calls to you, under the river and between the clouds the lady of the moon watches you", he sang on and on.

Runic pulled the hood back his navy blue eyes lingering on Ballad for a few moments before he looked off into the shadows where his keen sense of sight watched Uriel slink off to his look was more then a glance it was a threat saying stay away from her. Wanting to make his point he gripped the hilt again the armor on his fingers clinking against the blade that was to is side with this he was sending the nightmarish creature a dare, a dare to come after Ballad again. "My voice is only as lovely as you are Ballad", he said tapping the innards of his pipe out in an ashtray. Runic ony spoke in the elven language not only for the safety of him and Ballad but to keep the elven customs alive.

Runic pushed himself up his pursuit of the ring led him to looking at the ground, he believed he was hot on its trail only to pick up a brilliant gold bracelet which he stuffed eagerly n his pocket. Looking up in time to see the darkness that had surrounded Uriel leaving outside to where Ballad was. "Fergnov", he cursed walking galliantly to the door his hand resting on the handle, using those pointy ears he listened for any signs of Ballad in distress.

Runic stepped forward hearing her gasp in surprise within those next seconds he would surprise the creature himself by kicking the door to Gambit's bar outwards where he swiftly dove across the ground is right hand pulling the cloak free so he could move quickly. He came back up his sword already out and held low at the ready. Runic kneeled in his black armor which melded against he skin giving him full movement with no hinderance. "Unhand her shadow beast", he quaked speaking within the realms more used language. Raising his right had the magical gauntlet began to spark and then blazed to life his hand catching black fire.

Runic dropped his sword and threw his arm down to his side the blaze going away. "Keep your god damn hands off of her", he shouted the armor on his fingers extending into claws. "Shadow Beast you will not have this women, she is my charge and no harm will come to her, now I suggest you let her go before I give you a nasty sunburn".

Runic smiled shaking his head his right gauntlet arm stretched forward it began to flicker a small bright white light. Within Elven he spoke directly to Ballad, "Close your eyes my dear this may sting". His hand pulsed now and then it let out a blast of light as bright as the sun directly at the man and Ballad. Being she was elven the sun light shouldn't harm her but it should harm the shadow beast.

Runic ran at the creature when he dropped her and got her cradling her he aimed his powerful hand again towards the alley letting loose another blast of the uv light, hoping Uriel had gotten the message. Lightly Runic stroke her neck with his left had the armor tipped fingers dancing around the wounds. "I will heal you", he muttered placing his hand against the wounds, his right hand glowed a bright green as he began to heal her.

Runic didn't mind the rain whatsoever only caring for her not the fact that he was being drenched in the rain. His hads pulsed pumping her body with his own energy if Uriel attacked again he doubted he would really be able to fend him off without causing his own untimely death. "Ballad, shush save your energy and take mine", he whispered holding her tightly with his left arm. Runic leaned down to her pressing his forehead against hers, "My love your father warned me that you attract many unmetionables but never would I think that you would attract a vampire", he chuckled smiling at her.

Runic Stepped back in time to now be caught by the man, "If its blood you want I can give it to you but not all of it take enough to do away with your hunger then leave us both alone", he said stretching his hand back trying to unleash the light again only to find that his energy was exhausted. "Take me and leave her be my blood is better unlike her I have raw magic running through my veins and the strength of a warrior".

Runic stared at her smiling, "It would be my honor to do for you Ballad", he said in elvish walking into Uriel's blade so that he could get the chance to face him. "I've already warned you stay away from my girl, you shadow fucker".

Runic laughed at Uriel saving just enough energy he raised his right hand up right infront of his face, the hand sparked the bright white again before blowing the last of his energy out in a powerful blast of uv light. "I'm not done yet you fanged bastard".

Runic stepped back falling off of Uriel's blade he hit the ground pooling now in his own blood the light blast he sent off was the last of his power, and with Ballad's wound he couldn't see a light at the end of the tunnel this time. Smiling he laid on his back watching the raid drops pitter patter off his forhead and listening to hit the lush grass, he was proud of himself and of his strength.

Runic smiled licking his lips tasting the blood on his lip, "Don't cry Ballad, sorrow looks terrible on you", he said smiling working to pull his finger armor off with his nearly numb right hand, he wanted to touch her soft face for if this was to be the last time he wanted to feel her warmth and know she loved him.

Runic raised his head weakily pushing Ballad and the others away if he were to die he would die in peace and dignity like that of his people.

Runic laid back knowing that his wants to die were futile so instead he allowed the healer to do what she wanted. "I think that vampire's blade was tipped with poison because this freaking hurts more then any wound I have ever had", he said reaching up to feel the hole in his right ribcage.

Runic could feel that the wound had closed a lot more but their was nothing healing his internal organs, slowly he raised his head looking up at the one who had tried to heal him he smiled. "I thank you for trying", he said in the elven language hoping that Ballad would translate for him.

Runic sat straight up the pain gone completely in happiness he attempted to tackle Nighda in a powerful hug, "Fergnov I thought I was done for", he exclaimed pulling his black armor up so he could look at the healed wound.

Runic continued speaking in Elven, "I have natural magic coursing through my body would that heal it suffficiently", he asked looking up at the healer curiously.
