Description

Image
When found, Ry looks nothing like her picture there, right now. Her skin and clothes covered in dirt, and possibly blood, making her looked tanned when in fact she has pale skin. She is of average height, standing at about 3.9 ft at the moment but is slightly underweight. Her long blonde hair looks more brunette while covered in dirt, and her blue eyes almost look haunted when she's first found, though upon cleaning her up, she looks almost like the picture again.

The clothes Ry is found in are the clothes in the picture. They have gone through a slight change though with the top slightly darker in colour due to the dirt and there seem to be no sequins on the sleeveless top. Her skirt looks the same in colour as the top, but is torn and looks almost like dirty rags now.

On the palm of her left hand, she has what looks like a scar from some sort of burn mark and a few small scars generally that look like they've appeared from knocks and cuts.

With her, she carries a small dirty pink teddy bear, something she's kept in a hidden place and hasn't talked about once to anyone.

Personality

Ry is a shy and timid girl when you first meet her. She is always aware of her surroundings, her eyes darting around at everything, nervous and a little afraid, but also curiousity showing to. Ry is definitely one curious kid despite her fears.

Once she gets to know people, she can be a stubborn kid and she can be a minx as well as slightly troublesome, but then again what kids aren't? When she's settled down, she can be quite playful and even a bundle of joy, but she refuses to talk about where she's come from or what happened to her.

Edit: Now that she's in a University been protected, she's opened up a little more to people. Despite been afraid of Geddes, a White Mage, she's learnt to not be so afraid of him now, but still gets nervous occassionally.

She's come out of her shell some more and talks to people, but only if Legion is around and/or she feels safe with that person. As well as Legion she's taken a liking to a wolf called Ti.

Equipment

Ry has no equipment as of yet.

History

Ryleigh Jane Duncan.

Born December 15th (Year unknown but between 1999-2003). Parents and siblings unknown. From her clothes and her initial look when found, it looks like Ry has been living feral, but for how long is unknown and as to why. It could be possible that she was abandoned by family but she could be missing and lost also. Who knows? A lot of her history is unknown due to the fact that she won't reveal it.

Edit: It has recently been learnt that Ry is wanted by a group of corrupted mages that call themselves The Collectors. It is not exactly known why, but what is known is that the intentions of the group for Ry aren't good. This is something that DJ has confirmed.

Ry stood by a tree watching everyone at the park playing. She'd been standing there for a while just watching too shy to approach anyone. Not that she really knew anyone. Her mother used to take her to the park to play when her father was working. She moved her red hair from her face as the wind blew it making it irritate her. Her clothes were torn and a little bloody. She had no shoes on her feet which were now dirty too. How long she had been in this state was hard to tell, but it was clear that she wasn't being looked after.

Her white t-shirt was now a murky grey colour mixed with the brown of dirt and red of blood. Her green eyes were focused on some of the people. She was trying to find someone with food that she could grab. Ryleigh was hungry. Really hungry. Her pale skin was also the same colour as her shorts and t-shirt now. And with the chilly breeze she had nothing to keep her warm. Soon she saw a family trying to set up a picnic. The children were begging the parents despite the wind. Ryleigh saw the opportunity and decidedly started moving closer to the family, past trees, bushes and benches as she did so.

Ryleigh was so close. Her eyes had a look of hunger among them as she watched the food being set out on the bench. Hopefully they'd all be distracted in a moment and then she could grab something and run off with it. Slowly she crept closer, almost close enough to reach out.

"Excuse me," she heard a woman speak. She turned her attention to her and frowned, trying to figure out what she should do. It was obvious that the girl was scared of the adult. There was a mixture of feelings. To the young child the woman even looked slightly intimidating.

"My mummy is just over there." She lied. "I'm playing hide and seek. Shush." She hoped that she'd be left alone. After all, he'd told her she'd get in trouble if she told anyone what happened.

Ryleigh looked down at her shirt as if to analyse what the woman was saying - as if she hadn't noticed her shirt was dirty. "Oh... I. Um. Well I've been messy today. It was white this morning." She told her. She looked at the woman again and then at the picnic table. Everyone was now digging into the food. It made the little girl's mouth water. She'd missed her chance though. She was going to have to wait. "Why are you talking with me? I'm not hurt."

"I ate at one point." Ryleigh told her, but she wasn't sure which day that had been. Everything was confusing to her when it came to specifics. She couldn't quite remember what she'd eaten or when. "But I haven't eaten for a while. For like-" Ryleigh paused to think about things. "I don't know how long but a really long time."

Ryleigh took it quickly and devoured it. The normally picky eater would have picked and analysed exactly what was between the bread but she was so hungry it didn't matter. She just wanted the food. Once she'd finished the sandwich, in a few seconds, she looked up at Drulovic. "My name is Ryleigh. But most people call me Ry. What's your name?"

She wondered why she was interested in her shirt. What made her shirt interesting. She shrugged though and came a little closer to the woman. "I guess so. But I wouldn't touch it. It is kinda dirty." She told her. "Mummy always used to say that I got too dirty and that she spent all her time washing up after me."

"She's at home." Ryleigh answered quickly. It was rushed if it were possible with such a short sentence. She looked down at her feet as if it would help hide the fact that something was wrong. And then she concentrated on the next question, looking up at Ari. "Um... One. Two. Three..." She counted up to ten. "That's all I can count up to." She told her, not been able to give an exact answer. Not that she knew how long she'd been away, either.

Ry's small heart was pounding so hard it was threatening to escape her chest. Her bare feet ran across the rough forest ground, not caring if they received harsh cuts on the soles. She knew she had to keep running. That is all that mattered to her. She couldn't hear them behind her, but they knew she'd escaped. She would no longer be safe. It was while she was glancing behind her that she didn't see the low branch of a tree in front of her, smacking her head on it and falling straight to the ground in a daze.

Ry moaned slightly as she lay there. She didn't move for a couple of minutes as her head was pounding with it's tree collision. She listened for any signs that she'd been found by them but she heard nothing. After a couple of more minutes she got herself to her feet, confident that no one was around who were looking for her. Ry rubbed her head and looked around. As she was looking around she froze, her eyes catching something in the brush. Someone. Immediately Ry took a few steps back in fear, she had no idea who they were or if they were hunting her.

Ry didn't run but she made no attempt to get closer to the woman. Instead her look was one more inquisitive as she looked over the woman. She was dressed differently than she'd seen any other woman. But she was clean, unlike herself who stood in mere rags that were torn, and covered in a mixture of blood and dirt. "I'm okay." Ry finally answered with a shrug. "How'd I know ya won't hurt me." Her pronounciation was nothing like this other woman's. Her voice and talk was rough but then again Ry had never even being to a school before.

Ry could see that the woman wasn't going to be a threat to her. It was something about her. If she was going to hurt her, she would have done so already. And well, she hadn't. But Ry wasn't an easy child and she wouldn't make it easy for the woman in front of her, either. "Nah." Ry replied with the shake of her head. "Ya can tell anyone ya name. Don't mean ya won't hurt them." She pointed out with an awareness and maturity higher than a normal five-year-old's should be.

Ry frowned. "Looks can be wrong. You can't judge me by my look. The last person to do that got a nasty shock." She knew she'd said too much, but it didn't matter if Violet said anything in regards to it because Ryleigh had now focused on the thought of food and she could hear her stomach grumble in response. It had been a while since she'd eaten. Hunting was not her skill. She didn't have the heart to hunt and kill. It's why she was rather on the skinny side currently. "Fruit? Ya 'ave a 'ouse with fruit in it?" She took a couple of steps towards the woman. Her eyes were showing the way her mind was going through it's options of obtaining this food.

Ry immediately moved herself next to the woman. The answer to getting her to do what you wanted seemed to be food. She was much more receptive with the thought of something filling her stomach. "A 'ouse and a 'ome are the same thing." Ry replied. "Ya live in 'em both."

# Forest Border, 2011-11-12 06:26:50, as written by CriminalMinds
Ryleigh gave a disapproving look at the description of Violet's house. "Not a 'ouse or a 'ome then. Ya homeless like me." She grinned, though there was nothing to really grin about when you thought about being homeless. It didn't seem to bother the child. Ryleigh, surprisingly, took the offer of the woman's hand as they walked back. Her small hand was covered in blood and dirty as well as her clothes. Her skin was dark, but again that could have been the amount of dirt covering her frame, or it could be the natural colour. It was hard to tell. "Ya live with ya family, do ya?" Ry asked.

"Ya don't live in a village with ya friends?" Ry asked confused, possibly giving a slight hint of a place that she might have once lived in as she glanced around at her new companions living arrangements. "Looks like no 'ome I've ever being in." She commented, looking around at the trees at the area that this woman called home. "It's not much."

Ryleigh thought about it for a moment. "Name's Ryleigh. But most people call me Ry." She explained. As soon as the bag was offered to the child Ry dug her hand in and took a handful of whatever she could and shoved it into her mouth so she could grab another afterwards. "This is good." She grinned, speaking with her mouth full. No manners whatsoever.

Ryleigh looked at Violet and just nodded her head while she continued to eat what was in the bag. When Violet curtesy'd, Ryleigh laughed. "Why'd ya do that silly thing?" She asked, thinking it weird, she'd never seen it done before."
