Frank and Phillip had, for the most part, thought their day rather over, simply awaiting the arrival of the Landwächter operative that had deemed it necessary to take the two oldest ones out for something of an expedition. At the least they were responsible, and they would assume the man with them was as well. Even if they were xenos, the two had become attached to the creature's in the strangest way. Emperor knew, though, they certainly had their hands full as it was.

Phillip busied himself reading a holosheet, the daily news, whilst the other scribbled something on a piece of paper, Frank lounging on the office's sofa whilst Phillip studied his reading material on the break room's table. A peaceful silence had set upon the place, disturbed only by the hum of nearby machinery and the scratching of Frank's stylus, causing the nanites in the paper to react as if imprinted with graphite.

The arrival of the children certainly didn't go as they had expected, the two men looking, initially, with pleasant glances before they noticed the new creatures; nevermind the bag that soon came through the door held by the operative. Frank's gaze went a bit cold at this, the man both frustrated and at a loss for what he would do, while Phillip, finally distracted from his reading, scrambled hastily for something to say or do. The children certainly were not at fault, they did only what they thought was right, as frustrating as that was.

"I... Um. Hauptsturmfuhrer, set them in the laboratory." Better not to have them crawling around in here. There was no telling what they might get into. Matthias nodded in response, moving to unload the bag in a more secure location. "... bring them here Josef, Lena. Let's see who we have." Needless to say, the two weren't exactly pleased, but there was no reason to be cross with the children.

Phillip had slid the holosheet away, clearing space for the creatures on the table as the little ones brought forth their catch. "Well, it seemed a rather fruitful expedition, then." There was a lack of Heshi twins in their lot, though an excess of Erutin was forgivable - a varied gene pool would be a good base to work from.

Josef was far from incorrect in his assessment, as Phillip's nose soon found out. Oh yes. Baths. Soon. They needed them indeed. "... that they do, Josef." Matthias reentered the room, having emptied the bag of kittens in the adjacent room, no doubt getting into mischief already without a watchful eye there to police them. Matthias was no fool, however, making sure to close the door behind him, leaving no avenue for the small creatures to escape.

"Just the older ones," The soldier replied, knowing that it would be rather poor of him to alter the deal with conditions arising afterwards. Besides, there was no reason to test their relations like that, no doubt it would stress them rather negatively. He knew just how hard it was keeping the creatures in line, considering how vehemently some of the scientists bitched about it.

"If you could, that would be wonderful Josef. Frank?" The Belkan tossed the other's name over his shoulder, who snapped out of his trance and soon responded, wanting to know just what the other needed. Of course, the answer was several tubs. These creatures were going to be clean, if Phillip could help it. There was no need for the stink of the streets of some alien slumworld to cling to the walls of his workplace.

And soon enough did the man return, moving over to the sink nearby with a sigh, having thought that he could spend the rest of his day rather relaxed. A shame he wouldn't. The plastic tub was ready enough, and Phillip, making sure that Lena had the new arrivals under control, soon set off for shampoo for the damnable things.

Somehow they always managed to get dirty. So dirty. Who let them live on the street like this?

And no doubt they would be provided for, considering the addition to the genetic records they had provided. But first they needed to be clean. Very clean. Phillip and Frank bathed them in twos, hopefully by twinset, though the Imperials couldn't really tell at this point, the creatures being so young. The two turned the effort into something of an assembly line, though it still took some time, the squirming and resisting of some of the infants proved something of a challenge at times.

Within an hour, though a busy hour, all of the new arrivals were, at the least, clean. They'd need scrubs or something of the like soon if they were to stay in human forms, otherwise it could wait. Phillip leaned back against the counter with a sigh, looking over all of their new charge with a smirk of sorts. They'd have their work cut out for them, but hopefully it would be worth it. The man looked to live off of his work here for the rest of his life.

With this, he just might. The Emperor was rather fascinated with the Erutin project.

All three of the adults present watched Lena with a sense of pride, seeing the obvious leader take charge of the situation herself, though they helped where they were needed. For the most part it looked like she could handle the affair on her own, organizing the new little ones to sleep however they were needed. Of course, Josef did his part to help, but he seemed to let Lena handle the matter.

"Do you think you can make it work?" Asked Frank, looking to Lena, both curious and tired.

Frank listened attentively, or as attentively as he could being as tired as he was. Cots. They needed cots. Good. He could handle cots. "... so we need a cradle, too?" Well. They still had the one they used for the original children around here. Somewhere. They could track it down and put it to good use again, rather than simply gathering dust.

Phillip meanwhile pondered on just how they would appeal to all of the creatures gathered, knowing that the Heshi were far from being as easily pleased as the Erutin. "Well, we'll just have to teach them, won't we?" No doubt it would be easier this time, considering they had translators of sorts in the form of the first twinsets.

"We can always get more." Phillip speculated, knowing that it would be little trouble. They had government funding, there was really nothing they couldn't get. Lena's own thoughts on the matter were rather useful, both for an alternate perspective and to help fill the gaps for minds that were already tired.

"Well." Spoke Matthias, "Good to see it wasn't a terrible shock to the system."
