Short Bio: Lanky and towheaded, a solid medium build. Tyler is no stranger to hard work. Having always loved airships and any sort of flying, the youth found himself a job at Icara City's local airhub. His time was spent below, sorting luggage, however, and rarely did he get to see even the tailfins of a smaller craft.
Opportunity came, and with it, trouble. Tyler fell in with a group of what turned out to be pirates - an amiable yet atrocious gang who'd sooner cut the ties on a balloon and see her passengers plummet than lose the cargo to another crew. They showed him not only a kinship he hadn't known, but they showed him the sky in a way you could never understand from the ground, looking up. Tyler was hooked on flying, and made a vow to one day pilot his own airship.
From there on, Tyler bounced back and forth between ports and hubs. He became a maverick of sorts, fearless in flight. He jumped lines and made repairs that not even the bravest sailor would dare to attempt. It became a sort of drug, and during one fateful storm over the Pacificus - Tyler fell.
Instead of being eaten up by the ocean, Tyler found himself stuck between worlds. He know wanders realities rather carefully .. not really knowing what happened that night when 'things stopped being normal'.
All Tyler really wants is to get back up into the air. Worlds, landmasses may be different, but to him .. it's all the same sky.
Tyler Raze 's attempt to slip quietly into the bar was thwarted by his choice of footwear. They were great, heavy boots - good for staying put on deck during a flight, but not so great for just normal, everyday walking.
Not that he had much else to change into. Tyler jerked his coat around him tighter, perhaps trying to hide something therein. Clump. Clump. Clump. The youth found his way to the counter.
"Hello?" He tweaked his goggles with one hand, kept his coat pressed to him with another. The youth cast about for a bartender.
Tyler Raze pulled himself up onto one of the bar's stools. His legs hung like deadweights - those damned boots were no good. He wouldn't have taken them off for the world, though. However clunky they were, however impractical on land, they were a symbol of his status on the flight crew.
Still keeping his coat close to him, Tyler finally lifted his goggles off his eyes. The artificial lights of the bar filtered in, and he winced just slightly. He had gone too long with just his goggles on again. Maybe he'd always be new to flying ..
Still looking for a bartender, Tyler licked his lips, now.
Tyler Raze suddenly gasped, as though he had been hurt. The youth's hand jumped to his jacket once more - he attempted to keep it closed. Something definitely moved therein.
"Stoppit!" Tyler hissed, seeming to speak straight to his chest.
The youth looked up - hand now moving to tweak his goggles. It was a habitual action, done only when he was nervous. Upon hearing the bartender, Tyler clenched his coat even tighter, and raised two fingers from his free hand.
"Actually, I just want a word."
Tyler Raze Now that he suddenly had the man's attention, Tyler felt himself losing his grip on his words.
"Well, uh .. as you can see I'm not really from around here." He tweaked his goggles, clenched his coat tighter around him. As though it needed any more clarification! The youth blinked at the man before him. "Some directions would be nice, maybe to get back to where I belong. And if not directions, then at least information. Where am .. "
Again, Tyler gave a little hiss. Whatever it was hugging his chest, it had hurt him again. He glanced up apologetically to the man.
"Sorry. Just .. um .. " His cheeks began to blush, only slightly. "Where is this place?"
Tyler Raze "Wing City." The youth nodded, as though this were all very helpful. "Right, got it. OW .. "
Again, something underneath his jacket moved rather obviously. Tyler was having a harder and harder time controlling it. He bit his lip, and would have reached up to tweak those goggles if he had the presence of mind for it.
"There are a lot of strange folks here. Not - you know. Saying that you're strange. Just .. it seems like .. "
Tyler's train of thought had officially derailed.
"You said you're new here, too?" He tried again, miserably. "Yeah. Me too. Sort of against my will."
Tyler Raze "Oh?" Tyler seemed to be interested, but he was having a real fight with whatever it was he was hiding under his coat ..
Tyler Raze "Oh, I'm perfectly fine." Tyler grunted. There was now a faint squeaking that could be heard from underneath the lapels of his jacket. Whatever it was in there, it wanted out.
Tyler Raze " .. excuse me?"

Tyler Raze blinked at the spear being thrust in his direction. He reached up and tweaked the goggles sitting on his forehead - a nervous action.
"Hello there .. " Was all the youth could think of to say.
Tyler Raze "H-Hello."
Tyler felt his heart pounding in his chest. He had seem some strange things from the flight deck of the Intrepid, but this was out of his league. He felt Clockwork clinging to his chest inside his coat, trembling only slightly.
Still, Tyler wasn't scared. He was too much of an adrenaline junky for that. He could have stepped back and been done with it, but he stayed his ground.
"I'm Tyler."
Tyler Raze looked up with keen eyes at the scene before him. Whatever was happening, it was over his head. Tyler made an almost imperceptible step backwards, more out of wariness than anything. He had seen things change in the drop of a hat here in the bar, before. There was no telling what could happen next.
Tyler Raze was left standing in the center of the bar, Clockwork clinging to his chest.
Tyler Raze "Odd, that." Tyler muttered. He turned back to the counter, finally pulled himself up onto the stool. His legs hung like deadweights, dragged down by his heavy boots. Not that he'd take them off if he could. They were a symbol of his status on the flight crew.
Tyler pulled open his coat, and out slipped a cat-like creature. It whirred quietly, made up entirely of gears and other mechanical things. Really, it was a beautiful thing. Clockwork fell back on its delicate haunches, flicked it's tail.
"Well, at least you're alright." Tyler reached out with a gloved hand and brushed the machine along its fine jaw. "Now, I've just gotta find out about myself .. "

Still looking for a bartender, Tyler licked his lips, now. Something rustled in his coat, and he clamped a hand to his chest.
"Shh .. " He hissed (oddly) down at his front. He tweaked the goggles again, a sign of nervousness, then returned his gaze to the front of the bar.
Tyler Raze Something nipped at him from inside. Tyler gave a low curse, and withdrew his hands. A delicate clockwork creature slipped from the folds of the coat, and onto the bar's counter. Gears whirred and danced along its frame - impossibly meshed. Whatever it was, it was looking up at Tyler with what could only be disgruntled annoyance.
"Hey!" Tyler hissed, but the thing gathered its energy and leaped off the bar.
It landed with a THUD, being made of mostly metal. The delicate creature shook off the impact, and seemed no worse for the wear. Staying low to the ground (a faint whirring came from the creature, maybe a few odd ticks) and it scurried away.
"Oh no you don't .. "
There was another THUD now as Tyler dropped to the ground, his boots making about as much noise as the little football-sized clockwork creature. The youth scrambled along, gazing frantically along the tables.
Towards Horace ticked the clockwork cat -- Tyler pulled up short.
"Er -- "
Tyler Raze "Uhh .. " Tyler went almost immediately for his goggles, tweaking them out of nervous habit. He shifted his weight from one boot to the other. This man was massive. Tyler himself wasn't too far from six feet even, but still, he felt like a child.
Would an airship even be able to lift with someone like him on board? Tyler licked dry lips. He suddenly forgot why he had come over there, bothered the man at all -- and then he saw the clockwork creature waiting patiently in the stranger's grasp.
It whirred patiently, not entirely alarmed at its current predicament. The game was up, it seemed ready to be returned to the youth whom it had claimed as its companion.
"Um." Tyler was at a loss for words. "That's. Uh. Mine. Sorry." He pointed a hesitant finger at the machine.
