a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by CelticCat

Description

Normal Appearance:
Image

Demonic Form:
Image

Name: Ula (Uh-lah) Siofra (Seeo-frah)
Age: Appears in her early twenties (Countless centuries in reality)
Gender: Female
Basic Description: A descendant of the Celtic "Asrais" line of fairies, Ula is lithe and tall with an extraordinary air of grace and beauty hanging about her. She is also found to be dripping constantly, her clothes and hair always soaked full of water. It's easy to tell where she's been, as her foot prints leave small puddles. Her toes are slightly webbed, but she hides this when in her humanesque form.

Major Abilities:
Water Mastery: Her kind are rumored to be simply sentient water, and as such, any body of water that is touched is under her command when she is in a "pure form".

Minor Abilities:
Attract: Male Humans (and to a lesser extent female humans and humanoids) find themselves with an insatiable urge to capture or touch the Asrai. However, either would be fatal to the Asrai herself. It is an innate "ability", though acting as more of a curse, and is in no way under her control.
Chill: Another innate ability is that her touch can permanently chill the skin of humans so it never feels heat again. Too much exposure to this ability may cause death, as any exposure to extreme cold.
Personality
Personality: Understandably timid towards people she doesn't know, very shy and quiet. She tends to be compassionate and protective of those she does know well, but those are few and far between.
Warnings: Direct sunlight or being captured cause her to die and her body to dissolve into a pool of water.

History
She lived most of her youth with her sisters, hidden in a grove deep within Ireland. However, as humans began to become curious about them and encroach on their land, they fled in all different directions. She's had no contact with another Asrais for more than a century, though she may have found haven...

So begins...

A staggered, pained breathing could be heard from within the forest. There was a stumbling and crushing of leaves as a petite woman slowly made her way towards the cabin, as if knowing it was there. She leaned against a tree, seeming to desperately try to catch her breath, however her reddish hair obscured her face. She pushed herself from the tree suddenly, moving forward and then falling at the base of another tree, right in the field of sight of the cabin dweller.

She found him first, her eyes catching his immediately. Her eyes were orange, almost swimming with an inward light. "Please...Water..." she called softly, her eyes compelling him to comply with her request. Upon further inspection, she seemed to have the ears of a fox and a lithe body. "But don't...touch me..." she warned, her eyes drifting half-closed.

Her clothing were soaking and her hair was dripping, already pooling around her fallen body.

The woman's shaking hands pulled up the bowl and she dumped it onto her head immediately, letting out a breath of relief as she showered herself with the water. She slowly replaced the bowl in front of her, breathing easily and color returning to her face immediately. She smiled up at him and moved to stand. "Thank you...You are a generous man," she stated, pulling herself up easily and with much grace.

She tilted her head and studied him for a moment before speaking again. "You are not human, are you? I feared you would be, perhaps you are safe..." she mumbled to herself. She took a tentative step forward, not moving her eyes from his face. "You do not with to keep me, do you? What do you see when you look at me?" she asked in quick succession, almost seeming to regret the lack of tact in the first.

The woman's eyes grew dim and her face began to look pained again, but not a physical pain. "I see...That is good...I'm safe afterall," she mumbled quietly, her voice not echoing her expression. She slowly pulled back a step to her original position. She felt a conflict within herself, but tried to ignore it.

"I am not human...but I do not claim to be. I may in fact be a stream," she replied, her voice growing softer. "Pl...Please...Is there...a body of water nearby? I cannot walk far." She pushed back her dripping hair, the strand appearing light blonder, almost white for a moment.

The woman looked around for a moment, eyes scanning for a separate option, but she was unable to come up with one. He had already said he had no interest in keeping her...She would not be trapped her, would she? She shook her head and stood straight, following him into the cabin and slowly closing the door behind her. She did not walk farther than the door, her footprints leaving small puddles of water. She merely watched him. "What is your name?" she questioned, her eyes losing color for an instant. No longer bright orange, but a dark clearness.

There was only a moment's of hesitation before the woman moved to the tub. "I care not for temperature at all," she replied, slowly stepping into the water fully clothed. She quickly sat into the tub, sinking so that only her chest up were visible. She let out another satisfied sigh, leaning her head back and relaxing. "It is so refreshing...The bath water isn't even stagnant like that of the city..." she muttered. She watched the recliner from her position, wrinkling her nose slightly at the rising smoke. "I do not know how long you intend to extend this invitation...but I should have you know I cannot be in the daylight..."

"Thank you, the tub will be fine," she replied, leaning her head against the wall. "I should have the strength to walk to the creek you mentioned by tomorrow night, then I will trouble you no further." She sighed softly, feeling uncomfortable with the negativity she could feel towards herself from him. She was used to only feeling desire from men...

She sat up a little as he spoke again, tilting her head. "Fang...?" she questioned, as if the name struck a familiar cord. However, she shook her head and returned her gaze to the water of the tub. Below the water line, her body seemed invisible, not a trace of it. "My sisters call me Ula. Thank you for your kindness, Fang..."

Ula watched him move curiously, it seemed so sudden. "I see...Then my gratitude must mirror hers, also. Do you...care for this person? Is she the most important to you?" she questioned quietly. She didn't want to pry...but she needed to know the extent of her charm on him. If she was in danger...she needed to know beforehand.

She frowned as a sudden light came from her host and she stood from the bathtub, her entire body fracturing the light around, completely clear, but a dripping outline of a female body. "What is it?"

Ula watched him carefully, her translucent body slowly regaining the color and cloth of the woman he had seen before. At least, the part of her that was not still within the bathtub did. Her feet up to the water's edge were still invisible. "I see..." she muttered quietly, tilting her head. "Then you...Do you see me as a humanesque woman with ears?" she asked slowly and carefully. She had a hunch, his name... "Feel free to ignore my questions, I ask them purely for safety reasons..."

Ula tilted her head and blinked several times in quick succession. "A...kitsune...? Not a..." She was cut off my the knocking, however, and pulled back a little. At his angry cry, Ula slowly sunk back into the tub, hiding most of herself within the tub. If it was a human, it would extremely problematic...She was in too enclosed a space to prevent herself from being touched or captured. And her charm was still working, so the human would not be able to resist if he saw her...

Ula slowly sunk completely into the tub, her body disappearing into the water, the tub almost overflowing. "Do not let him in," she somehow still managed to call from the tub, even though she was under the water. "Do not," she repeated more firmly, forcing her voice to hold compulsion. She was shaking, the danger was so close...She never should have entered such a small area.

Ula took a deep breath, still under the water and out of site. "Leave me be!" she called, pushing compulsion into her voice again. "Go away!" She only very shortly pulled out of the water long enough to stare at Fang. "Make him leave. Make him leave!" she insisted, panic seeping into her voice despite her attempt to remain calm. She looked around the house quickly, looking for a pipe to escape through, should the occasion arise.

Ula glanced at the closed door and then at Fang, her eyes wide with fear and confusion. "Thank you..." she mumbled softly, slowly sitting with her upper body above the water. "I...have a tendency to...attract many followers, yes," she mumbled quietly. "I'm afraid most of them become stalkers..." she whispered, pushing her hair back and revealing the silver-blonde hair for a moment again. "But I've never seen him before." She shook her head, completely forgetting about their previous conversation. Suddenly, the door was gone and she let out a loud cry of terror.

Ula scrambled from the tub, spilling water onto the floor and she tried to move out of sight of the transformed man. However, she immediately became a body of water, simply in the rough shape of a female human. Within moments, she dissolved, the water moving immediately into the tub and draining out into the forest, leaving almost no trace of her presence aside for the watery footprints and puddles.

There was a period of silence before the drain of the bathtub began to bubble up. Slowly, the bathtub began to refill itself with water, to the overflowed state it had been when she had hide herself. Slowly, the watery female figure emerged from the top of the water and stared into the room silently.

"I'm not strong enough yet to reach the stream before sunrise.." she mumbled softly in response. She watched him for a moment, relaxing back into the tub. The part of her above water was no longer the girl he had seen before. Now she had long silver hair, darkened eyes and no ears. "I hope your permission to stay 'til tomorrow night still holds, despite the strange intruder..." Her eyes didn't leave him, her eyes were full of worry and she still seemed fearful. "Thank you, by the way..."

Ula sat still, pulling her watery legs up to her chest. She followed him with her eyes, simply watching him and frowning at the smoke in the air again. "I was mistaken. I assumed you were a different Fang, I suppose. It was an incorrect assumption, but I guess I still trust too deeply in my goddess-mother's guiding hand. There was a nekojin that uttered 'Fang' and her body drove me from my home."

Ula tilted her head, slightly surprised that she had been correct about her initial assumption. "Yes, I suppose..." she mumbled. She had to resist the urge to retch, think back on what had become of her home. "Good night," she replied simply, laying back in the water and closing her eyes as well. She wouldn't sleep, but she didn't have anything to do, either.

The surface of the water slowly bubbled up, her head appearing from the surface. She stared at him for a moment before responding. "Yes, it's not dark enough outside yet for me to leave...I will leave soon. Thank you for serving as my host," she replied slowly, tilting her head and more of her body appearing above the water. She wrinkled her nose at the smoke, but didn't say anything further.

Ula sat on the rim of the tub, enough of her strength returned to stop immersing herself in the water. "Then...nothing. I'll stay there, I suppose, until I hear word from my sister that the lake...is livable again. Or I'll just hide there for the rest of my life. There will probably be a place to hide around there." She swirled the tub of water with her legs, her upper body solidifying into the kitsune's form. "Why do you ask?"
