Unega Wahya's Story

# Gambit's Bar, 2010-01-14 02:36:10, as written by Entity
Unega Wahya sits outside on a giant smooth rock on a hill next to the bar, puffing on homegrown tobacco from his wooden peace pipe, while observing nature. He was a red skinned native wearing a simple loincloth made from sun baked brown leather and coyote skin. Apart from this loincloth, he was completely naked, having no clothes on his back and no moccassins on his feet. His arms, legs and neck were adorned with colorful long beaded jewelry and tiny animal bones, and he wore a headband with two eagle feathers in it which hung down the back of his neck rather than sticking upright over his head. Unega Wahya wore red face paint, and sheathed a simple handmade tomahawk at his side.

Unega Wahya was sitting quietly by himself, looking very lonely and sad. But nothing could be further from the truth, as he puffed slowly on his long wooden peace pipe. Unega Wahya observed the nature of things around him, noticing the ghostly white wolf in the moon light as she trodded along quietly in the distance. There were so many wolves in the region, he had a hard time identifying all of them. He sat there quietly with his legs crossed underneath him, sitting in the indian style position on top of the rock which sat above the hill. His eyes were that of a wise man, both wild yet gentle at the same time. His hair was long and silky, hanging down in straight black threads over his shoulders. He puffed on his pipe quietly, sitting by himself.

Unega Wahya watched quietly from the rock as the white wolf in the field suddenly darted off towards the forest. As she shifted back into the shape of a woman, Unega Wahya lowered his peace pipe and gazed at her silently from a distance. He recognized the woman, her face was familiar to him. Sitting there quietly, he watched as she disappeared in the trees.

Unega Wahya puffs on his pipe again while looking up at the moon. Gazing up towards the sky, Unega Wahya smiled as if the moon had smiled back to him, before hearing something in the trees. Lowering his pipe again, he would turn his head and stare at Briena Skysong as she slid back into view, not five yards away from where he was sitting. There was an ackward moment of long silence, or perhaps it was peace, as his eyes squinted to gaze upon the woman before him. He was sitting as still as the rock he sat on, like a statue when he spoke to her. "Sa, suq ehi ouy". His voice was deep, like that of a native, though it was difficult to tell what he said by the nonchalant expression on his face.

Unega Wahya sat there quietly, puffing on his pipe again. He watched Briena silently, his eyes and face never moving. It was difficult to tell what he was thinking or feeling at that moment, as his language was rare and his expression was that of a senseless man without any humor. He did not respond to Briena, never moving from his quiet position on the rock. He just sat there quietly, puffing on his peace pipe, while posted like a statue in the indian style sitting posture. He did not appear frightened or angry. He was simply, nonchalant.

Unega Wahya watched Briena as she transformed into a wolf right in front of him. However, not even this display seemed to get a response from the young native, as he just sat there quietly puffing on his peace pipe. He took another hit and watched her quietly, his expression never changing. It was hard to tell whether he understood what she said or not, as he gave her no response, not even a twitch. However, on a positive note, he also never moved, seeming to be quite comfortable and relaxed up on the rock where he sat.

Unega Wahya was still posted like a statue when Briena neared towards him. His face and body never moved, until she was about five feet away from him. Looking down at her from the rock, he took the peace pipe in both hands and turned it sideways, presenting it slowly to her. The whole time, he moved slowly, never moving from his indian style posture. Unega Wahya was a typical, unpredictable native shaman, obviously a foreigner or stranger to those who spoke and lived different.

Unega Wahya sat there quietly, again, never moving. His expression had never changed. His back was still straight, his legs still folded underneath him in the indian way. His bead and bone jewelry blew in the wind, making light air chiming sounds as he sat there with his arms fully extended, holding the pipe out to her. He would not say or do anything, allowing the wind to sing and talk for him, as his feathers blew quietly against the back of his neck.

Unega Wahya lowered the peace pipe, resting it on his lap as the arrow flew past Briena, hitting a tree next to him. Not even this seemed to budge the reserved native, as he looked at Briena quietly before glancing at the arrow. After a long quiet pause, he turned his head back to her and spoke. "E' qeh'fafp" he said, again no tone in his voice suggesting any kind of meaning to these words, if that's what they were. After a moment, he set the pipe down on the rock beside him and uncrossed his legs, hopping down from the hard surface only to land softly with his bare feet in the grass. Unega Wahya then looked down at her, now face to face, with his hands empty down at his sides and his back straight, showing proper native posture. His eyes were calm and wise looking, yet mysterious as he gazed quietly at Briena.
