A former empire, the Erutin Empire broke up shortly after the death of the Empress Wing and succession of her daughter Thistle. The Child-Empress Thistle, being vastly under prepared for a task she wasn't supposed to assume for several more decades, ended up signing an annexation treaty with the Hegemony of Aligned systems under the guidance of Archduchess Liese Redwing and her Hegemony-born mate, Erich Brenner. This was not well met by all people, including the Travelers, who broke off for a time before rejoining, and numerous worlds in the former outer empire who chose self government over being governedby the foreign Hegemony. The middle empire is currently a war front of fighting, with many refusing to join the Hegemony and paying with their lives. Meanwhile, the Inner Empire, has been cowed by strong Hegemony presence and had submitted to their new rulers.
The child-empress was named a Lady of the Hegemony, while her twin brother, rightly her co-ruler and First Dark, was named a Baron.
This empire has three man species, the dominant Erutin, the lesser Heshi, and the minority Nerun. Other species are in the less than one percentile and largely ignored as they tend to die out in the face of the numbers and the restrictions placed upon them.
