(The Ahrian Empire Thread)
"My Lords and Ladies, we are preparing to exit warp inside the Antongrad System, approximately five minutes from Planet Antongrad itself." the ship's captain said, bowing his head as he stood in the doorway of the chamber in which the Council members stood.
"Well, it's about time, we are eight minutes behind schedule captain. I expect prompter transport from someone as experienced as you." one of the women said, a fair haired and sharp blue eyes woman who appeared in her mid forties (which of course meant she was over four centuries old, as Ahrians age slowly), gazing down her nose disapprovingly at the Captain.
"Amathera, the man did the best he could. The delays were due to unavoidable circumstance, you cannot blame him for them." a second woman, black haired and finely featured, chided, placing a hand on the other woman's arm. Amathera was always disapproving, there was no help for it - the woman thought far too much of herself for being a member of the High Council, much to Jade's annoyance.
"I can hardly see how a failing in the engines could be anything but the fault of the crew, Jade." Amathera replied sharply, moving her arm away and sniffing. A naive young woman, Jade, she was as inexperienced as she was pretty - but a pretty face wasn't what got you ahead in politics, as Amathera well knew.
"Ladies! Please, if you cannot get along in the short journey, how can you maintain the illusion of amiability within the Capital, we do not want to show them division and argument amongst ourselves." their male companion, brown haired and much taller than either of the others, said, trying to create peace between the two women, who had never liked one another from the day of Jade's induction. Alaron was definitely doing to have to keep a tight reign on the two younger women, being the most senior member there he had the most authority, but they would bite at each others heels no matter what he did.
By this time the captain had made his excuses and scurried away from the arguing trio, and with a flash the ship left warp, appearing in the Antongrad system and flying toward the planet. The ship was a sleek craft, a smaller ship designed for trade or political visits rather than combat.
The three Councillors made their way to the bridge, and Alaron stepped forwards to the communications link "Greetings, Red Technocracy. This is the Starspear Aeon requesting permission to dock, we are ambassadors for the Ahrian empire and wish to speak to a representative for your people, if you will forgive the clichè, we come in peace."

Ten-Thousand Years Ago...
"We are masters of the stars!" screamed Yuri Nikolov, the first Technocratic human to achieve FTL flight. His jaunt took him between the N393-P02 System and Earth-3932, now called "Foothold" and "Antongrad". Yuri had returned; Yuri had survived. The future beckoned.
Today...
Antongrad Space was lousy with incoming and outgoing vessels. The system's autonomous traffic control system, housed in Anton's solar ringworld, registered Starspear Aeon in its labyrinthine databanks.
NACI (Non-Ansible Communications-Intercept) transceivers scattered across the system detected the incoming transmission. The missive was funneled to a traffic control AI, which spent picoseconds processing it. The AI spit out a directed, narrow-beam signal to the Starspear Aeon from one of the ringworld's transceivers.
"Welcome to Antongrad Space, Starspear Aeon of the Ahrian Empire. Please cue for docking. Your docking location is Station Sixteen, Section Eight, Sub-Section Zero-Niner."
Station Sixteen, Consul's Office
"Nika, there are diplomats here," Nika's voice-link came alive with the resident mentality's, Alex's, voice. It was gruff and masculine; a deliberate choice of the zealous station commander.
Nika set down his coffee and asked, "What time will they be arriving."
"Zero-eight minutes from now," replied Alex with a voice frustratingly free malice.
"Thank you, Alex." Sighed Nika, taking deep, measured breaths afterwords. "Alex, assemble the Diplomatic Team, now."
Nika rose from his swivel chair and made for the bathroom.
Station Sixteen, Sub-Section Zero-Niner
Orange-suited dock personnel scattered from the rectangular docking as warning klaxons blared. "Decompression and docking sequence beginning in three minutes; please clear the area."
The workers cleared the area with drilled precision; they also feared being asphyxiated or crushed or vaporized. A massive suspension system, comprised of hydraulics and springs supporting eight movable "rings", filled the entirely of the bay. The Aeon would have to park inside these rings, and they would clamp it into place. When the last of the workers left, a massive telescoping pressure one-thousand feet across slid open, segments collapsing back into each other.
Starspear Aeon would be approaching. The docking coordinator, observing the massive assembly from an overhanging office, rattled off greetings and instructions. "Alright Starspear Aeon, just ease in nice and slow. If you have proximity sensors, use them. I'll handle the docking clamps, no worries. Nice to have you on onboard!"

The pilot slowly guided the Ship into the docking area, sliding easily into the wings, long years of experience giving him almost perfect control of the vessel. As the clamps fastened into place, a stairway parted from the main body of the ship, allowing the three Councillors to exit the vessel. Alaron descended first, his green robes dragging on the staircase slightly as he walked down to greet the Technocracy personnel on hand. Alliandre and Jade followed him, smiling amiably, doing a remarkable job of hiding the ire they shared now they were 'on duty'.
The two women allowed Alaron to do the talking for now, as previously agreed, and soon they were being led through the ways of the City to the chamber where they would meet with the Red Technocracy diplomats.
"I do hope they provide refreshments, I am famished." Jade commented with a light laugh, attempting to break the ice that had so far hung over the three's conversation.
"Perhaps, best not to comment though if there are none, we don't want to offend." Alaron replied with a smile, raising one eyebrow as Alliandre visibly refrained from commenting.
Minutes later, the three arrived in the meeting room, and waited on their hosts to speak first, as was polite.

Station Sixteen, Section Eight
Andropov was waiting. As Sectional Chief of Security, he was tasked with escorting foreign nationals and diplomats. He was built for the job; and his preference for muscle shirts served to enhance the image. "This way." he said, leading the three Ahrainian representatives through Station Sixteen's labyrinth of passageways.
The three foreign diplomats and their guide stepped into a cavernous circular room. The conference room was obviously designed for large meetings, albeit not opulent ones. The walls were polished chrome, as were the floors and gently sloping roof. A single windowless metal door, marked with Senior Diplomat Nika Akrevdev in white block letters, stood opposite Andropov. A circular metal conference table, measuring twelve feet across, completed the room.
Andropov nudged up to Alaron's ear and grumbled, "Here's Nika," before strutting across the room, and leaning his elbows on one of the room's cushy, chrome swivel chairs.
Their representative would be Nika; he was lithe, clean shaven, ruggedly handsome. Rectangular horn-rimmed glasses framed gaunt face. He smiled mirthlessly and clenched his folded hands. His three aides acted likewise. All four were dressed identically in black military day wear, with the exception of the maroon beret which hid Nika's curly brown hair.
Nika seated himself at the near side of the table, and his aides followed. Andropov sat on Nika's left, and Nika's three aides sat to his right. This left two chairs of space between the foreign diplomats and the technocratic representatives. Nika absently tapped the tabletop before him, causing a holographic screen to activate. He keyed in several commands and then folded his hands in his lap.
"To business, shall we?" he began, but was abruptly cut off by Andropov's forceful interjection, "Would you like something to eat or drink? I apologize for not having anything on hand. Our mess' cooks can make anything you want." The Security Chief flashed his trademark three-quarter smile to Alaron, awaiting an answer.

Alaron smiled "A bite to eat would be good, Chief, thank you. " he said with a nod, remembering Jade's earlier comment. "But as for business, it would be good to get started." he said, sitting down in the middle of the designated seats, Alliandre and Jade sitting to either side.
"Firstly we should make sure we clearly understand what sort of agreement we each looking for. The Ahrian Empire is largely interested in trade and in either a peace treaty, or a mutual defense pact, depending on which you are willing to enter into. As you are aware, our empire is a lot smaller than your own, and as such it is understandable if you find the latter a non lucrative prospect." Alliandre said
Alliandre finished speaking, but Jade took up where she had left off almost as seamlessly as if they were one person, "As far as trade is concerned, the main export we believe you would be interested in, is a compound gas unique to our home world of Ahria. For as long as we have used it, it has simply been referred to as the source, but the composing gases are in fact a variation on the common gas, Hydrogen, and a gas unique to Ahria called Aelfin. The two combine to create a gas that can be used as a powerful source of energy. For example," at that point, Jade pulled out a small vial from her sleeve "This much of the gas is enough to power an average home for a month." she said, before taking out another, slightly larger container that resembled a small fuel cell "This is the standard fuel cell for a light aircraft, and can last several hours without need to refuel. There are also scaled up versions we use in our spacecraft."
Alaron waited for Jade to finish speaking before pitching in himself "We also have relatively advanced cloaking technology, and these." he said, gesturing to a device that resembled a wrist band that he was wearing. "With these 'manipulators', a user can have limited control over gravity in a small area. If I may demonstrate."
The councillor gestured towards one of the spare chairs, and it rose up into the air, spinning around several times "It takes a lot of practice to control properly, and most people will find themselves limited to this sort of thing, but with enough time, one learns to do things akin to this." he said, and the chair crumpled in on itself, dropping to the floor a mangled mess of metal. "Well, I believe that we have shown our hand now, as they say. Let us hear you out."

"Can do." said Andropov, rising from his chair and sauntering for the staff kitchen.
Nika waited patiently through the Ahrianite's presentation, wincing as they totaled one of the good chairs, and he began expounding on his point, "That's all very interesting and promising. And unlike some nations, the Technocracy is always interested in mutual trade. I'm certain something can be arranged."
"Interesting, I was expecting the normal spread of exports; perhaps, considering that the Technocracy is in a glut for a fuel sources right now, we could arrange a simple trade? You supply us with this gas, we maintain refining operations there, and we'll provide protection and security for your entire empire. Does a battlegroup, say, fifty-five ships, per planet sound good?" elaborated Nika, gesturing wildly with his hands, as was his unintentional habit.
"Moving on to your gravity device, It's impressive, I'll admit that much," Nika said with a saccharine smile, "But the Technocracy already possess that kind of technology; in fact, our 'effectors' can manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum as well as gravity. They're wonderful devices, really."
Nika was blessed with a keen eye for details; no facet of the Ahrianite's flawless interpersonal communication went unnoticed by him. He pursed his lip, thinking, and then he calmly asked, "I hate to be intrusive, but do the Arhianites have any form of telepathy? I've noticed the," he said the next word cloyingly, "flawless way you merged conversations."

The IA Kapahanuhalulu blasted out of warp speed near the Antongrad System. Their engines damaged, thrusters offline, and completely paralyzed. Something horrible happened to this ship.
"Commander!"
Kaluhalu choked out.
"Commander... orders!?"
Captain Jalulaha sat in his command pod, bloodied and beaten. Sweat ran down his face.
"What's our status?"
"23% stable!"
"Dammit."
He cussed under his breath.
"Send out a close range transmission to the..."
Jalulaha paused to examine the navigational charts on the holo-deck.
"To the... Antongrad System."
"Yes my-superior!"

Space Runaway Setup. Type Moon"According to our own diplomatic team, there are vitally important suspects within the range of your system. We would like to hold them for trial." A Trantor Medium cruiser was nearby, but it would not enter Red Technocracy space, as that would not be a smart choice. They wanted to capture these people, and send them all to the Black Hole for eternal confident. However, it was the Red Technocracy's decision, after all. The Medium cruiser made a jump back for Trantor space, to wait out the situation.

Alaron nodded "We do indeed possess the ability to use telepathy, it is inherent to our race." he confirmed "It is limited to communications though, I might add, I cannot read your mind or that of any other sentient being to learn anything." he added "Your protection and security is greatly welcomed, our fleets are untested in the harsh realities of war, training exercises can only do so much to prepare one for conflict. Our weapons and tactics are sound in theory, but in practice we can never be sure. The gas is in abundance on our planet, and is easy to create from other elements, so supplying you with it should be no trouble at all."
"We do of course offer all the general exports in addition to this, but that can be easily dealt with by the traders themselves." Jade added, "Your effectors certainly sound interesting, I would be interested in seeing one at some point if I could, just for my personal interest."
Alliandre nodded briskly, before blinking as the Captain's voice spoke in her mind "High Lady?"
"What is it? I told you we were not to be disturbed." she snapped, frowning
"My sincerest apologies, High Lady, but we just received a transmission, a distress call sent out to the general area. It's the Azerians, ma'am. Their ship is damaged and they are requesting aid from the Technocracy."
"Well I am sure that the Technocracy will respond appropriately, and have already received the transmission. I will mention it though. Thank you Captain." she finished, before turning back to Nika "I do apologize, I was just contacted by the Captain of our ship, there is an Azerian ship nearby sending a distress call out, though I am sure you already know." she explained

Zavior
"Azerian vessel, we are dispatching a tow squadron to your location. Your request for temporary asylum has been granted. You will be boarded and searched, however. This is f-comm, over and out."
The tow squadron, comprised of three squat tugs escorted by two comparatively spindly destroys, dropped into realspace three-hundred kilometers away from the disabled Kapahanuhalulu. The unfortunate result of this was that the already damaged ship would be bathed in a spasmodic, but incredibly strong, burst of exotic radiation. All five technocratic ships, properly shielded and undamaged, were unaffected.
The first destroyer's captain hastily hailed the Kapahanuhalulu, politely asking, "Is your ship still intact? Our radiation wake might have damaged things even more."
As the radiation wake subsidized, the tows moved into position along the dorsal, port, and starboard hull plates of the ship. They clamped into position with electromagnets and remote-guided tow cables attached to vernier thruster packs; and they gunned their engines. It would take days for them to reach the inside of the system, so they would guide the foreign vessel to the nearest military drydock and search the occupants en route.
Of course, the military elements of this operation had other things in mind. The cruisers, their bows pointed directed at the Azerian ship, engaged pinpointed communications jammers. The Trident AI controlling the second destroyer hailed, "Please prepare yourself for boarding."
At that moment the first destroyer broke formation and banked alongside the Kapahanuhalulu. It was close enough for the Azerians to see the closed port weapon awnings through whatever windows their vessel might have; they would also notice the extended docking umbilical through which the marines would arrive.

The Technocratic response was short and concise: "We are going to process them before extradition. The situation is under control."
Parabola
"Great, great. And, I'll show you some footage of these effectors - oh, that's all under control. We get stuff like that happening all the time around here." Nika rambled, quickly keying in a command to display battlefield footage of a cruiser-mounted effector array. It was fearsome, its user combing gamma radiation and magnetic field manipulate to rip apart and atomize a space station.
OOC Notes
Captain Jalulaha sighed as he activated the communication channel to the boarding ship.
"I don't see the point, you won't find anything board the Kapahanuhalulu."
He shut off the panel and activated a few controls on the holo-deck.
'Kapahanuhalulu's memory is now erased.'
Said the fragile female AI.
'Goodbye commander, it was nice working with yo-yo-you."
The AI's communication hissed and glitched, until finally it was gone. The ship's power shut off and is now completely inoperative.
Jalulaha switched on his portable communication-array.
"I am bringing armed personnel aboard the station. I will assume that is okay... Technocracy."

Jade's eyes widened at the display, and Alaron and Alliandre, though less obviously, were visibly impressed. "Such destructive power." Alliandre breathed "I suppose that is what happens when one uses science itself as a weapon against their enemies." she said, "A most impressive weapon, though I am sure you have more to dazzle us with."
Alaron nodded "Our people will learn much from the technocracy, which handily brings me on to the next point. The Ahrians have had contact with other races, as you know, but the first race we encountered before even the denizens of some of our own planets, was the Voidkeepers. Their name is rather ominous, and ill befits their nature, they are a peaceful people who dwell in the void of Limbo, an alternate dimension in which there is nothing but they, and what they choose to bring into it. They have the ability to transfer themselves, as well as sections of space ranging from an individual, to a ship, to an entire Solar System, depending on how many of them there are, into Limbo. Limbo is timeless, and so a year can pass in there while a second passes in our realm, depending again on the Voidkeepers themselves. They are based around gaining knowledge, but we have an alliance of sorts with them, where we gather them knowledge in return for their support in any troubles." he explained
"Of course, I am sure they will want to meet you themselves at some point, they are fickle in some ways, and it could be mere days or several years before they decide to make contact." Jade added.

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored
Hey guys,
Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.
You're free to abandon them again if you wish!
Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks!
There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.
In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.
Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:
- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans
And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)
Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.
Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:
- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders
I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.
If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).

[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)
This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.
Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.
News Announcements
Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!
Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.
“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.
The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “
The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]
We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.
[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.
PLAYERS
Following Ry’nn Traeger as played by Prose
CptxMorgan: Paul-Henri Chevalier - unknown
Namaru: Jack Krutz - unknown
lilyWhite: Sol and Ebony - unknown
Following Demi Edenhelm as played by Prose
qbsuperstar03: Gary Mandolera - Skuldgrim
Konstanstein: Karasaad Vidathari - Artrea
xTheSmokex: Mikhail Kahldmek - Eshatt
Following Morim Ilthond as played by Prose
Marcus: David Trapspringer - unknown
Nevan: Emys'i - S'rit
THE WEAPONS
Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.
The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.
The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.
It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.
Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.
The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.
Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.
There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.
Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.
The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)
Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.
If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?
Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.
I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.
For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.
Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.
And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
