The domain of the once-great Erutin Empire, now known as a bitterly divided swath of space. The Imperial Remnant, a Belkan puppet state kept in power by the martial might of the Hegemony, desperately attempts to reestablish law and order as hundreds of splinter factions vie for power, each looking to carve out their own slice of the imperial carcass.

Her Imperial Majesty, Queen of Dev Eru, Wing of House Erutin sat in her receiving room in her preferred form as a brunette human. Truthfully, she only preferred it for the political advantages it seemed to gather while dealing with those of the Milky Way, but it was a decent form. She wore a tea length sky blue dress and a string of pearls, trying to appear modest and demure.

Still, of all the monarchs and world leader she was meeting, she would admit to no small excitement. Her 'good friend' Kampf was coming to visit her, and she did hope he was suitable impressed with her Kingdom. Not that he would be seeing much more than a brief glimpse of the green palace grounds and the beautiful marble halls, tastefully decorated. He would have been guided by the most well-mannered Traveler she had been able to find, which was saying something as she found the majority of them to be nuisances capable of entirely too much mischief.

If she didn't need them to find more land, she would execute the lot of them. As it was they were needed, and they did provide the occasionally intelligent worker. She sat on the blue velvet chair and waited mostly patiently, another blue velvet chair faces hers at an angel. There was a simple wood coffee table, with a tea service already on it, the water for the tea very hot. There was even, to her pleasure, sugar cookies to match.

The era of incognito traveling was over, at least to Dev Eru, and that delighted Kampf greatly. He never cared much for masquerading as a bodyguard of Redwing or that detestable Aschen clone, and being able to wear his own colors was a point of pride. Clad now in his traditional black gabardine uniform, trimmed with gold bullion, he decided only to wear a belt and cross strap, deciding to forgo both the traditional saber and greatcoat. He sported, beneath the jet tunic, a crisply contrasting white undershirt along with a tie almost as dark as the rest of his clothing. Regardless, however, of whether he attended in disguise or not, he wasn't ever truly alone, even without counting the Erutin guide, two Landwächter guards always never far behind him, he tried his best to simply imagine that they weren't there, though the double echo of jackboots on the stunning inlaid floors did manage to consistently remind him of their presence. His pace was rather respectable, covering good ground with a wide stride, though it wouldn't register as a legitimate parade step back in the Hegemony.

Arriving in good time to his destination, he offered the best thanks he could to the guide, an awkward act considering his position in life, and ordered the guards to stay at the door, having to repeat himself twice to get the message across. As good as Redwing was at her job, sometimes she just drilled things too hard.

Opening the door gingerly, not wanting to make too bombastic an entrance, Kampf edged into the room, surveying it before acting further. He didn't have to wait long, however, as he caught sight of the Erutin Queen, Wing, her dress and furniture betraying her opulence. That's not to say they didn't favor her, though. Approaching with a quickened pace, he forwent the traditional salute that he practiced almost everywhere he went, considering the two monarchs to be on equal footing, at the least. "Your majesty." He did offer, however, a small nod in greeting.

Wing stood to receive Kampf, with a smile on her face. She returned his nod, somewhat amused. “You majesty.” She replied, amusement in her voice. The only one she ever said that to was her own husband. This was lovely. “Please take a seat. I took the liberty of have tea and cookies ready for you, as I understand well the fervor of your guards. My own are just as bad.” If not worse. Hers were, after all, keeping a very close eye on the situation.

He would have a choice of tea packets, all made of familiar blends, to brew for himself, along with sugar, honey, and a small pitcher of milk. Wing was well outfitted, her own personal blend of herbs foreign to Kampf already steeping. “It is a pleasure to meet with you once more.”

Kampf accepted the invitation graciously, taking a seat while pondering a response, and just as what he would do with the tea. Conversing with the Queen, and the Erutin nation in general, was always refreshing. It was, for obvious reasons, a nice change to run into people who didn't want you dead. "It's good to know then that it's not just me... Redwing has noble intentions, but she's too zealous at times." Leaning forward in his seat, he placed a packet, which he chose at random, not very picky as to its nature, into a cup, and proceeded to prepare the beverage. As he poured the water into the cup, he responded to her words, ones that bore a pleasant air he rarely heard, and offered her a glance before turning back to the task he had at hand. "And I can say much the same with you, madam. How go things for the Erutin?"

"They go well. We're having a bit of trouble with rebels and pirates, but they are being dealt with as swiftly as possible. Besides, most empires of such a size would have troubles with pirates. My husband has decided not to waste another bullet on executing the rebels, and I'd rather not have so much of the lethal injection chemical built up, so we've resorted to an old fashions chopping block. A...I believe the word if guillotine?” She said and shrugged. “Lovely idea. Very tidy.”

She approved. It also prevented from any lethal doses being stolen. And her husband was right. Killing the captured rebels was an absolute waste of bullets. This way seemed to deter them further. “And how goes things for your own nation, God King?” she said, the title spoken with a teasing toen of voice. God King indeed. They both knew the truth.

Kampf nodded, confirming her choice of words, pondering to himself how long it had been since someone in the Hegemony had been executed in such a way. Hangings were still quite popular on the frontier worlds, as was burning the convicted at the stake. In the core worlds the practice of drone configuration was becoming much more popular, partly due to the increased and lasting efficiency of the procedure. Allowing his tea to steep as he finished with the water, he looked to her as she inquired as to his own holdings, even poking fun at the false title that he enjoyed in some of the more far-flung regions of the Hegemony. He chuckled lightly at the quip, sharing her views on the matter, though he knew that if he wanted the best for his people, he had to play the game. "Well, perhaps not as good as the Ecclesiarchy would have you believe, but things are not all that bad. We have had little incident with our old enemies, the Collective, and we still push deeper into the Eres Nebula, despite the Kobold resistance." Leaning back in his seat, he crossed his legs, continuing, happy to share his thoughts with someone who didn't judge him on the level of most. "Domestically things are quite quiet, as always... but rare is the sight there that can match this place's beauty, Queen Wing. Almost rejuvenating, in a way."

"Why thank you, King Josef. It's kind of you to say. I try and ensure my own homeworld remains as beautiful as possible. I would offer you a grand tour, but I'm afraid the Traveler trainees has decided to defile it again." Everyone knew what group of people was doing it. But no one could catch them at it! There was no evidence of any wrong doing other than the sudden appearance of spray painted goggles on the temple statues. It was most annoying.

“I confess, I do have a reason for this meeting beyond catching up with a friend.” She said and gave him a polite smile. “I worry for your safety, in that nasty Milky Way galaxy. It's such a dangerous place.”

"I am quite sorry to hear such!" His voice, though raised somewhat, held in it genuine concern and wasn't unsuited for the relaxed air the conversation enjoyed thus far. Should a monument or state building been defiled on Tannhäuser, heads would have rolled. Though the Queen soon brought up a point that gathered a rather curious glance from Kampf, who now reached down to retrieve his cup, taking the bag out of now-steeped tea. Safety wasn't anything new to Kampf, especially for his well-being, but concern was another matter, especially honest concern that hinged not on someone else's job or life.

"My safety? Wing, I may be God," he tone spun the word around so that one could tell he wasn't entirely serious, "but you do me too much honor." Taking a sip of the tea, which was still quite hot, he drew himself away, quickly, the tea still too hot to taste much of the flavor. He continued, stressing that he wasn't as important as much of the Hegemony suggested. "It's not that I don't agree, the place is filled with savages, but commandant Redwing never lets me out of the LW's sight."

She asked, voice sounding perfectly polite. "It may help explain things. For isntance, I probably have a hand ful of guards I am unaware of in here now." she said, her voice stern. "And they would do well to leave, now, 'less I find out." she ordered. Nothing appeared to happen, but after a minute, she relaxed slightly, shoulders no longer ramrod straight. Kampf thought for a moment, trying to recall exactly how the race functioned on a whole, though the Queen's example of her own guards peaked his own interest in the matter, rather curious. The sight of the monarch taking on a more authoritative stance brought a smirk to his lips, moreso than the smile that currently inhabited it, but he quickly let it disappear before she looked to him. Her example, however, had taken the curiosity that he had before and began to build on it, his mind whirling with the possibilities. Slowly, he began to ask, the question gaining momentum as he continued, "So your guards... they can disguise themselves?"

Wing sat down her tea and smiled. "My guards, and I, can change shape. I am more than able to demonstrate, if you would like, but I do ask you to not spread the knowledge about willy nilly. Some of the other nations I am in contact with, through my ambassadors, are very against anything not shaped like a human." She knew it too.

"It is quite inborn. I'm afraid we can't spread it about, as it appears biological, and not magical." Almost no study had been done on the issue, due to 'religious grounds.'

The thought of shape-shifters immediately caused a slight feeling of discomfort with Kampf, though he knew better than this. At times he almost believed some of the propaganda that the state spread, not to mention he felt that he, at the least, knew Wing. However, as the thought settled in, he began to consider further the possibilities, as she mentioned that she held the form before him for reasons of diplomatic interaction.

"I would be most gracious," he said, setting down the cup, "if you would be willing to do such. And you need not worry, it'd be unfitting of my image to go around speaking about such. But, if you're able to take the form you have now... can you take any form?"

Wing decided not to disturb him overly much, and changed shape of her features. She now looked exactly like Redwing, but in Wing's clothes. No need to show that their cloth could do much the same. After all, somethings need get out naturally, and what use would they have for cloth that could follow your form?

She held the form for a few minutes, before changing back. "The guards that left were beetles. There is a limit in size, of course, but depending on age, you may be almost anything. In my natural form, I am...large."

The change was instantaneous, but none-the-less impressive! He had missed the change in a blink of the eye, and looking into, what he could've sworn were, Redwing's eyes, he couldn't help but shift in his seat at the shock, though that's not to say he was upset.

Quite the contrary, this had him excited, so much so that he couldn't help but emit a pleasant laugh, his happiness being an emotion he had a hard time suppressing.

She didn't keep the form for long and quickly returned to her traditional one, Kampf's smile from the example still lingering on his face as he listened. Inquiring once she'd finished, out of plain curiosity, "I don't mean to offend, but how large?"

"I am...18 feet and 2 inches long, not including my tail." She said with a smile. "And over seven feet tall." She could intimidate the absolute best of them. It was quite lovely. "I am also quite old, at 376." She said and shrugged. "One of the oldest of my people, but only because we do tend to be an adventurous lot." Death by lack of caution was fairly common. Life was not highly valued here, only accomplishment, and if you didn't accomplish much, then who cared if you died.

The size was rather unimaginable to Josef, who was, understandably, only truly familiar with humans and humanoid beings. On the note of age, he teased her jokingly, the accepted theocratic vision being that Kampf had never died since being exiled from Scatter, chuckling as he did. "Maybe you'll get to be my age, some day. But, in all honesty, that's quite a feat. A man could accomplish much, were he able to live that long." The thought of such a long-lived being couldn't help but remind him of the overly alien Aboraz, creatures that many citizens of the Hegemony couldn't help but resent. Kampf, however, enjoyed an education and viewpoint that others did not, and knew that the Erutin held no visions of galactic domination.

He couldn't help, however, but pry with one last question, though he didn't want to strike her as nosy, "I apologize if I'm pressing this, but can you mimic them in every aspect? Say, their voice?"

Hearing his own voice wasn't something new to the Emperor, hearing it from another's lips, however, was. For a moment his smile faded, but returned as she continued to extrapolate. "Your people truly are talented, and blessed." The offer of two guards came as something of a surprise, even more than hearing his own voice. Initially, he couldn't help but thank her; taking a moment to consider his words, looking to the floor as he did. While he did this, however, he began to think on just what this could mean. The momentary act of thinking out one's speech taking just enough extra time for one to notice. Were one not paying close attention, they'd have missed the change in him, as it was a minor thing, only his eyes bearing something different. Therein laid a glint that hadn't resided there before, its nature unknown to any but Kampf.

"Queen... Wing. I... don't know how to thank you. You're too generous."

She kept her enemies close, but her friends she kept closer. After all, they knew more about her. Wing gave Kampf a smile. "Their dedication is most admirable." His smile returned, he knew, as she suggested humorously, she likely had some ulterior motive for this - international gifts, especially of individuals, rarely lacked them - but he trusted the Erutin, especially their Queen. They were, in a place against it, an honest people. Even one of their folk held more virtues than a thousand in the Hegemony. "As do I, m'lady, as do I. I'm sure you know," he continued, allowing something a grin to form on his face as he glanced at her, "I can't let this favor go unpaid. The Order of the Throne, a chivalric order back in the Hegemony, has yet to count an a-" He caught himself in the nick of time, apologizing sincerely, "I'm terribly sorry, an Erutin, in their ranks." "You are a very generous Emperor, Josef Kampf. You're people are lucky to have such a benevolent man to lead them." She said politely. Oh she knew well about the cannibalism, and made the occasional noise against it, but an animal was an animal to an Erutin, not matter the shape they took. she was more appalled that they were clearly sentient. Still, waste not, want not, she supposed.

Sighing as he finished, he didn't wish for things to sound as final as they did, and quickly amended his statement with a hint of humor, "Perhaps then I could get some peace and quiet, eh? Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored

Hey guys,

Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.

You're free to abandon them again if you wish!

Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Hello folks!

There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.

In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.

Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:

- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans

And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)

Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.

Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:

- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders

I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.

If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).

[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)

This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.

Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

News Announcements

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!

Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.

“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.

The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “

The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.

[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

Image

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.

PLAYERS

qbsuperstar03: Gary Mandolera - Skuldgrim

THE WEAPONS

Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.

The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.

The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.

It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.

Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.

The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.

Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.

There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.

Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Image

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.

The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Error: You have execeeded the maximum number of messages per minute

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)

Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.

If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

[OOC] yea retarded moment

i managed to make myself feel like a retard just now i just posted a 86 word post in the wrong area . . . this is ooc . . . i posted it in IC so now i feel like a retard but we all have our moments so ^^ yea

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. There are opportunities! They abound, in fact! (Yes, I was looking for an excuse to use the word "abound" in an internet forum post. I successfully created one.) Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?

Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.

I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.

Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.

I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.

For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.

Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.

And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
