OOC Notes
The Precursor made his way down the fields of golden sand separating the ocean from the land. His spear was no-where in sight, having been once again placed in the sub-space to keep it out of the way of his every day life.
He seemed to be getting tired, as he had seen the rest of yesterday, the entire night and all of that morning up until now go by without a single rest... He was miles from the city he had left, yet still seemed to be going somewhere.
He approached the wave lapping against the shore and waddled down to knee-deep, before throwing the cool, salty liquid over his face to cool him, then cupped his hands and drank - despite the taste.
Once he was refreshed, he made his way back out of the reach of the surf and sat down, using his elbows to prop himself up so he could watch the horizon.

The suns were shining in the sky and the waves beat against the shores with Mother Gaia’s breathing. The waves were particularly violent that day, emerald crashing on the golden sand almost angrily. Storm clouds were seen in the far distances and an energy was gathering in order to unleash its fury on Siv’en.
There came a manifestation of light near The Precursor. It traveled in front of him in recognition and then passed through him from his back out through his chest. It was a warm and familiar sensation. The light grew brighter and larger to where a sigil was formed in the middle. The sand around it began to swirl and rise to begin forming a structure.
As the sand continue to rise and harden, it was easily seen that a gateway was being built. The Precursor had seen such an event before but there was no telling if his memory would serve him well in recognizing it. The Gate fully formed with all its intricacies in design and the sigil came to hover in the middle of it.

The light surprised him when he first noticed it, causing him to almost roll aside and bring out his spear for self protection - but it passed through him first, leaving him feeling safe, warm and as though he had experienced it before...
He continued to watch as the gate grew from the sand, while carefully standing up to watch it complete. Was he to go through? Was something to come through to him? Why did he have a feeling of Deja Vu?
He kept cautious eyes on the sigil and wiped his lips of the salty taste lest they become sore.
"Greetings?" He spoke, as though expecting someone could hear him.

The sigil began to fall away into pieces as if a rose were losing its petals. As soon as the first petal fell upon the sand, the light began to rise up again but this time it took physical form. Sol’s feet were first seen, small, dainty, and feminine. The light continued upwards and revealed her legs, torso, and finally the legendary woman’s face was unconcealed by distraction of light. The last wave of light fell down upon Sol’s crown and traveled down her frame to form her enchanted robes.
A smile spread across the woman’s face and she merely stood there as the gate began to fall away back into nothing more than sand. Sol’s lips formed words as she said The Precursor’s true name but no sound came. It was lost in the gale of wind that had picked up due to the coming storm.
Her bare feet padded along the shore and Sol came to stand before The Precursor with that gentle smile still on her face.
“It is good to see you again.”

"What... Are you doing here?" He could only ask, while checking the woman's features to be sure it was actually her and not some sort of trick.
"I remember you, yes... I know you. So I wasn't dreaming? Or... I'm not dreaming now? I'm not sure anymore... I have no idea what is happening. I woke in a different world and the call that gave me meaning is gone."
He took a step back in the sand and tried to keep himself from having a mental breakdown. Slowly he was getting over his denial... But it wasn't in the most stable of ways.
"I'm completely lost, Sol. I don't know where I am, where I am going or how long I was... Gone... I only know where I've been."

OOC Notes
The smile faded from Sol’s fair features as The Precursor began to speak. He did not remember anything and it was saddening for the woman. Her eyes left his and looked across the sea so that he would not see the sorrow that rested in them.
“Gaia is in trouble once more,” she said in a mystical tone, “The Colossi will be released after we sealed them thousands of years ago. The world has changed but only because we have been gone so long. This is Gaia but not as we remember it. Humans have changed it along with the other races. Civilization is growing rapidly and many towns and cities have been formed. And it is all because of you that life on Gaia was able to even start …”
Memories of the war played through Sol’s mind and she held her hair in one hand to stop it from whipping around her face.

"So that's why I'm here, then?" He asked as he watched her, though settled his eyes just over her shoulder, rather than directly on her face.
"I don't know if I was sent forward, or if I've been asleep, I guess that matters not now... I'm supposed to stop them from being released, or I'm to defeat them again if they are. Is that right? Then what, will I be put away again until the next time? And the next?"
He seemed a little disappointed at what he guessed was the truth, yet felt adult enough to know it was something he couldn't just complain about like a chore. At least he had purpose again.
"I'll help, I see nothing else for me to do in this new world."

“It is your choice to be part in this or not. It has always been your choice,” Sol said while turning her gaze over to him again. “Mother Gaia never forced you to do anything, you chose to defeat the Colossi yourself.”
“There is something posing as the Mother and offering stones to people. They are the Colossi stones under the guise of Gaia Stones,” Sol revealed and her face held an expression of deep concern.
“We must stop them before they get the weapons and reach The End of the World. The paths to the Colossi cannot be opened,” Sol said before bending over and picking up a glittering sea shell.
“We both know what will come if they are freed.”
Chaos and Eras.

"You're right," he answered. "I was never forced to do anything. Instead I was given a set of choices, but I must wonder if they were orchestrated to truly give me freedom, or if they were a single path disguised as many. If I said no, the world wouldn't have been worth living in. So how could I decline?"
He smiled a little, but nodded to her. "I'll help however and wherever I can, if you'll come with me. I don't know about this world and I can't walk it on my own."
He felt that was a fair argument, besides, if it was truly so important then she, like he so many years ago, wouldn't even dare to decline.

The Gate Keeper made no hesitation in thought after The Precursor suggested that she come with him. Her heart swelled when he made the offhand comment as if it meant nothing to him. Her smile had come back but only a fraction of what it had been earlier.
“I will go with you to The End of the World if need be,” Sol said, “I can teach you what has happened to the Mother since you’re sleep from the world.” Sol stepped to The Precursor’s side and looked over his shoulder from behind the man. She pointed towards the Exalted Mountains and soft softly near his ear.
“The mountains were not there before. That is the remains of Ni’thorne, the Earth Colossi. They call them the Exalted Mountains now because he still resists against his bindings and pieces of the Colossi float.”
“And over there,” Sol spoke while pointing south and then westerly, “The Crystal Tower that we erected to protect the Colossi stones from the world and it still sits inside the Atargatis Lake that I made acidic.”
“And,” she continued, “The Golden Vale is all along here.” Her fingers opened up and she swept them along the image of the land before them away from the beach.

At the mention of the mountains being the once great Colossi, the man had to shake himself out of memories that came flooding back of the battle between them.
Memories of the tower were vague to him, but he recognized that name and its purpose and it made him happy to realize that, if only for a limited time, he had brought some degree of peace to their world.
"I'll travel by your side," he told her. "And follow your lead. I trust that you know where we should go and what we should do, yes? It's still far too early for me to make confident choices on my own."
He turned to peer around them, taking one final look at the scenery before settling on her.

“We have to stop those who have the stones,” Sol said, “That is our task at hand. I feel … I feel as if we are already far behind and that some may already have the Binding Weapons that will cut the Colossi Chains.”
“We must find out who they are and kill them if necessary.” Little did Sol realize that stone bearers were good people with good intentions if only mislead by unsure knowledge. The Gate Keeper, The Precursor, and The Sentinel were the only ones with the true knowledge of the stone’s origins.
Sol’s eyes swept over to his but for a second and then the woman retreated away from The Precursor, swiftly.

It came back to him then... Yes, that was where they would start. That Ebony girl had one of them and she had even told the others right before his eyes.
"I met a woman yesterday who has what I believe is one of the stones. She's in a city, staying at a rest-home called The Dwarven Stout. Should we start there?" He asked, following Sol as she retreated to keep the same distance between them.
"Unless you have a different plan of action, of course."

“I have always followed you,” Sol said before holding out a hand for him to take, “Do not doubt your leadership.” The sigil from earlier formed above the woman and the gate behind her began to form once again. They were going to travel back to Skyfall Citadel in order to meet this woman who carried a stone and a Gate was the fastest way.
Thunder rolled in the distance and the skies darkened even more before flashing of lightning caused turmoil. The storm was coming and it would hit the shore soon.

He took her hand and listened with uncertainty. "For some reason, I feel as though we once knew each other far more than I remember... I was sleeping for so long that parts of my memory are missing, but you're in them."
Once the gate had finished, he made to lead her through - to take the first step into the portal before the storm caught them.

Atargatis and Sagittae were glittering on the emerald waves of the Empyrean Sea. A ship made from ebony wood with blood red sails sat in the distance, anchored in the deep water. Jess—notorious pirate extraordinaire and layer of exotic male creatures—was pulling the boat up along the shore. It was best to get away from the cap’n for a time lest he believed she mutinied against him.
The woman straightened her back and scratched her dreaded hair which was littered with colorful dragon’s feathers.
“Well, this is awkward …” she began in an attempt to give Axinn the ‘morning after talk’.

He had no idea how he had happened across this place. One moment it was woods, and the next...
So much water.
The wood elf stepped upon the sands with cautious feet. What was this place? The ground smooshed beneath his feet, and the sun... It was so bright! And what was that, over there? Movement, in the water? The elf felt far too revealed without his normal mask of trees, scurrying over to some strange piece of wood and squatting behind it for cover.

Axinn merely ignored his companion, hopping off of the boat and making for the sand. Stripping himself down to the bare minimum, he set in place, moving in odd formations. It was an Alnehian warriors way of greeting the day, a form of slow movement, quick burst of energy, and prayer all at once. Once he had started, he began to address her.
"I see no awkwardness in it, Jess Thresher. We coupled and that was that. If anything comes of it, that is for the God-King to decide, not you or I." He paused for a moment. "I will admit, it was an enjoyable time."

As birds circled in the sky a gold like glint might catch the eyes of those below as Aiden circled lazily in the air. Chiprez was a rare sight away from his homeland, a member of the reclusive Artificer race. His bronze, almost metallic skin glinted a little in the light through the trees as his made his way toward where Aiden was circling.
The young Apprentice Forger stopped short at the edge of the sand, startled by the water just as the elf was further down the shore, he had never seen so much, and like a vast majority of his kin he could not swim, and had a great fear of tunnel floods.

“Oh I bet. Ye sure seemed t' like that twisty thin' I did wit' me legs 'n all,” Jess said with a grin. The grin then disappeared and she tapped her bottom lip with a dirty finger. “Wha' was that thin' ye were jus' doin' o'er thar?” she asked him, unsure of the ritual that Axinn had preformed.
She almost snorted at the term “God-King”. There was no such thing to people of Skyfall. And yet, Jess was a tolerant person who could respect the opinions and beliefs of others. Her mother had always nurtured her to have a better understanding of those around her.
Something caught the corner of her eye and Jess peered into the distance, raising a hand against the sunlight.

"It is a Lirthkig Dez'Mir, the Sun's Dance. Its a form of exercise, as well as a prayer to our royal family. I will understand if you do not agree with our thoughts or beliefs, but it is our way, and I never see the Alneh changing." He had seen a half-masked twinge on her face, betraying her thoughts about his Lord and the Family. But, she merely did not understand. He would not fault her for it, this time. "And...yes, female, I enjoyed that part quite a bit. You are far more flexible then Alneh women, and that is a feat in and of itself."
Did Alneh blush? Maybe it was the heat and the sun that made his cheeks just the slightest bit more orange this time around. It faded quickly as he resumed his 'dance'.

Where Emys'i had come from, one might never know. It was unbelievable, the places a Wild Fae could hide in when he shrank down to the smallest size possible. The previous night, for instance, the wild-man had made his 'sleeping nest' inside the sort of rocky crack you'd peer into in order to see if you could spot any crabs, or interesting insects.
But with a few handfuls of the golden grass and some skill at getting comfortable in uncomfortable places, the Fae had slept soundly. And now he was up and about again; wings humming and carrying him around the rock-formation like some sort of large fly, until finally he found what he was looking for - signs of a buried artifact only he would notice!
He then grew, right up until he was the size of a man once again. It was a sight most strange for anyone to be looking in his direction. He dug out the stone artifact, then placed it in a makeshift satchel he had made to fasten against his waist-cloth.
Finally free, he peered on over at a reflective glint that seemed to glide over the sand not too far away, only to find it leading him to a second, bronze-skinned figure and even a third... Some kind of elf? He scowled immediately at the discovery he wasn't alone that morning, while the ship in the distance had been nothing but scenery to him.

Chiprez hesitantly moved out onto the sand as if the water would leap up over the shore and devour him with the next wave before he glanced up at Aiden who was still circling above it all. Putting two long fingers in his mouth the forger let out a shrill whistle, calling the construct back down to him as he held out his arm and it took its place on a specially built bracer, folding up and looking merely like a large decoration.
His maple syrup colored eyes glanced about the shore, spotting figures in the distance, certainly ones that were not like him and as it almost always did, curiosity outweighed fear or caution and he proceeded towards Emys'i who happened to be nearest.

OOC Notes
Jess’s first instinct of rebuttal was to say, “Don't ye be swearing’ at me!”, when Axinn had told her what his ritual was called. It was a strange word with a strange lilt to it coming from the Alnehian’s tongue. Her thoughts were interrupted when he called her ‘female’ as Axinn did when they first met.
“I gots me a name 'n I know ye knows it,” Jess commented while maneuvering behind Axinn. She stared at him oddly and whenever he wasn’t looking—when Jess thought he wasn’t looking—the pirate attempted to mimic his movements in an awkward fashion. Jess could not help herself. It was something new to learn about a people she knew nothing about.

OOC Notes
With a hiss of all manner of unpronounceable words, the four dragonfly-esque wings of Emys'i stretched outwards, one for each side, above and below the shoulder as though to make himself look 'big'.
It was clearly a warning, but just in case that point didn't get hammered down clearly enough, a flick of his hand sent a small shard-like dagger into the air and he jumped up; catching the handle skilfully in his mouth and landing in a partially crouched, "ready to spring" position with the knife skimming out to the left side of his face: hilt in his teeth.
If his mouth was free and he could speak the universal language, he might have uttered "come at me, bro."

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored
Hey guys,
Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.
You're free to abandon them again if you wish!
Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks!
There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.
In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.
Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:
- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans
And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)
Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.
Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:
- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders
I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.
If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).

[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)
This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.
Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!
Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.
“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.
The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “
The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]
We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.
[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.
PLAYERS

THE WEAPONS
Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.
The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.
The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.
It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.
Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.
The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.
Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.
There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.
Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.
The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)
Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.
If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?
Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.
I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.
For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.
Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.
And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
