Sidney donned an expensive black suit and a wide brimmed hat to shade his eyes from the sun. The area the fort sat in seemed to be a desert region, not a town for miles.
"Are they coming?" Sidney asked, "Yeah, I think Hannibal's sending them up." A mercenary anaswered, "Of course, I come here and I'm babysitting civilians." Sidney said, rolling his eyes.
Watching as the first few civilians made their way out of the building leading down to the tunnels.
Unfolding her arms, she let her hands rest in her pockets as she approached Sidney. She didn't say much, just acknowledged him with a look and a small frown.
"Like horses these things are tall, they're fast and the ride can be bumpy. Don't try to look cool, you'll only end up paralyzed or eating sand." Sidney informed the people, "For those who don't know, which is all of you, I am Sidney Markovic." The man added.
"I'm not Russian, I'm Serbian." He said, making sure to beat anyone who was going to ask to the punch.
How could she act like a cowboy when she could hardly get her bearings now? She was determined to follow Sidney no matter what. It seemed like the safest way to go, for now.
Her lizard looked back at her, its long tongue lapping out at its eyeball. Amariah grimaced.
"Don't eat me." she muttered.
"Let's go." Sidney said loudly, starting out of the fort's ruined entrance first.
She still wasn't sure why Hannibal wanted her to go on this thing, but she didn't argue it. The whole time she looked around, memorizing what she could for future reference. Who knew? Perhaps it might help.
