You have come at a most dire time. The land is steadily falling into much strife with each passing turn of the sun. Plague spreads across the Kingdom of Skyfall, sending many men to an early grave. It is close to claiming the King and along with it, the Crystal Crown. The Noble Houses of Markett, Traeger, and Edenhelm are all laying claim to the throne with political savagery and causing much dissent in the land due to chaos. Civil war is drawing more near as tensions rise between the Houses as Skyfall may soon be left leaderless from the death of their Beloved King Lesym Tharcey Edenhelm. The denizens of Skyfall are left to ponder who will rise up while the elderly, the young, and the frail are stricken with the plague. Clerics scramble in order to find a cure but none has been found, only a road to an untroubled death through medicine.
In the isolated Kingdom of Mahark, inside The Anvil Mountains, the Dwarves still dig as deep as the earth will allow. It has come to light that they may have dug too far. An artifact of great proportions had been unearthed and revealed in the depths of the mountains. Not even the lore of the Dwarven Lords recite such an article in the Tales of Mahark. Details of the artifact cannot be uncovered as any who travel too close disappear and are never seen again. Dwarves ride as fast as their steeds will allow in order to reach the Neluthien Kingdom. They seek to speak with the elves and collect their intellect on the matter, even if they must begrudgingly pay a hefty fee of precious mithril arms and armament.
Meanwhile, Kingdom of Neluthien remains as silent as it always has been, hiding many secrets inside the Elwendil Woods. But if one were a Child of the Woods, they would speak of the Elven War raging within the depth of the forest. All stake claim for ultimate rule as the Vallade House and the Ithlond House attempt to grasp absolute power. While most denizens follow the Old Ways and the Vallade, their are some who whisper of how Ithlond's ideals are more agreeable. And as the treachery between the divided Houses, the Diviners begin to speak of ill omens and a shadow which is extending its arm out for the Kingdom of Skyfall, intent on swallowing all life on Gaia.
So tell me, Adventurer, are you adamant in your decision to step foot upon the soils of Gaia's Realms, or have you now grown enough conscious to believe that it is best to turn your back on this world?
OOC Notes
Pater Fedorov is present.
OOC Notes
Upon the snow crowned peaks of the mountain range sat the Story Teller; a young woman wrapped in white furs as frost clung to her hair. A staff laid across her lap, tipped with a garnet stone and had intricate designs flowing down the wood. The woman appeared to be sleeping as her eyes were closed and so pale she had become, she almost seemed as if she had frozen alive. There was no response to the growing thunder of men's feet. No, the woman remained just as she was and moved not a single muscle.
OOC Notes
Clad in glistening armour polished finely were eight guards, all standing formation about one younger man. The guards faces were hidden behind the shadows cast by their helmets, strange for the open front design they had. Pikes were the main weapon each held, as well as spare axes. Such an unusual combination of weapons.
The man in the centre wore no armour, just a heavy cloak with fur trimming, blue in colour. He was clearly a significant person based on the clothing he had alone. He wore a perpetual scowl, such an unpleasant figure. "We break here!" he suddenly announced, youth easily heard in his voice.
The guards stood to either side, awaiting further orders as the man, or boy as it seemed he could be, rested on a near rock, careful not to dirty his cloak.

There was a break in the wind; a voice that carried itself all along the mountains, echoing across Gaia. There was a stir of the snow near the woman and breath was seen before her face. Fingers grasped around her staff, ice crackling across her knuckles and the back of her hand. And with a great sigh, the snow which had piled upon her white furs slid off the woman's back, announcing that someone was present with the men and Pater Fedorov. Crystalline amethyst eyes opened up to see the mountains for the first time in hundreds of years.
"Ahh,' the Story Teller sighed in relief before she attempted to stand up. After trying to force her legs to work, they would not. They were frozen just as she had been for so very long. She then turned her eyes to the young man that was standing not three steps away from her.
She cleared her throat and asked," Excuse me, but could you help me to stand?"

A scowl on the youth as he glared towards the Story Teller, arms folding. None on the guards flinched, or even acknowledged her presence. "What manner of thing could happen to leave a woman on the ground for long enough to let herself become covered in ice?" he demanded.
Slowly he rose, casting his cloak aside with a dramatic sweep of his arm. Underneath he too wore armour, but it was much better fitted than the loose chainmail of his soldiers. "You, aid the woman."
One guard stepped forth, retrieving their axe and walking towards the Story Teller. However, when facing them, the back of their helmet. There appeared to be no man inside!

OOC Notes
There was shock on the woman's face but the offer of assistance was far better than remaining on the ground. She attempted to reach up in order to take the guard's hand even before it was offered. But, however, she could not move her arm just as she could not move her legs. So long had the woman been frozen and now there was no chance of her every moving it appeared.
"I cannot reach for help, it seems, my lord," she spoke to the young man. It was obvious of his status and she was no fool.
"I would stand to introduce myself, but I cannot. Forgive an old woman and her transgressions. My name Taeris the Autumn Witch and I have been stuck here for over ninety-two years," she said, the beginning of her tale.

OOC Notes
The youthful figures anger subsided partially for introductions. "I am Pater Fedorov, of the Southern people. I have been sent out as a scout, seeking other peoples. What initially brought you to this place, to be trapped?" That was his first of questions. He had many more.
The faceless being drew out their axe and took a step back. "Careful," suddenly barked the youth, "Should you harm this woman you will be dealt with appropriately!"

OOC Notes
Taeris kept her exotic colored eyes upon the young man, Pater. Her gaze never faltered once, but would his? There were few that held the courage to stare a witch in the eye and not become enthralled.
"I was brought to this place in order to begin the Autumn season. The Summer Witch's power was growing thin and stretched, but the Winter Witch was ambitious and wanted to awe all with her display. She froze all of us. Spring, Summer, and myself. For that very reason, these mountains have not seen anything but winter since that day, ninety-two years ago," she said, blue fingers fiddling with the markings on her staff.

OOC Notes
"My people tell a similar story," Pater answered casually, almost with a casual nature, "They say it was the time of my grand father that we last knew the warmth of Summer. It has been a trying time for my father to rule, but we are strong, and we have adapted."
The axe descended, crashing against the ice and chipping it, but this tool was meant for hacking down soft wood, not shattering brittle ice. It would take a few swings.

OOC Notes
"I fear that Summer is dead and her sister along with her, Spring. I cannot change the season without the two coming into power first. Our strength is shared and now, I have none but save what is left within my staff," Taeris mentioned, still not allowing her gaze to fall off of Pater.
"The Changing will never come to these mountains again or the Southern lands. Winter shall reign until the return of the Witches. Will you hunt them down, Pater of the South, or will you continue on your chosen trek appointed to you," the witch asked as ice chips flicked into her hair.

OOC Notes
"To change my path would to be a disaster should I otherwise find others. I cannot leave me path. But you, you can come with us, and when we are done we shall return south to see my father and seek his council." He nodded. His father was wise.
The next blow cracked the ice, sending jagged lines deep into it. The ice was slowly loosening. Another blow or two would smash it apart. "I am meant to be a diplomat." He sounded bitter about that, as if he yearned for adventure. He was a youth, hot of blood.

OOC Notes
"There was once a man that had changed his path. He was blood thirsty and had been sent by his king into the northern lands to kill all that he could," Taeris said, sharing a tale from Gaian lore. "And he did kill. It was a great slaughter. But too soon, just before victory was at hand, there was one last person left! And so a choice was bestowed upon the man, to kill his prey or to leave them living. For you see, this choice was not an easy one to make and it was his duty to complete the crusade."
"Yet, if he had killed the woman, Sky fall would not have been born. Ahh yes, many do not know that Skyfall was born of a Southern man and a Siv'en woman. So, tell me, do you believe it was disaster that came upon changing his task," Taeris asked Pater.

OOC Notes
"War is never that simple," the man answered, "But as much as we might prosper from the return to the summer heats, I have but eight men. What could a mere force so small do in the face of a witch who's might is of the season itself?" The axe descended once more, chunks of ice now cracking. With a slow hand the figure pulled away the upper most cracks, then used the gaps to wrench at the rest of the ice.
OOC Notes
"What could the force of a single man do against an entire realm," the woman quipped to the young man's question.
The witch's amethyst eyes flickered over to the one whom wielded the axe, watching as the chips of ice flew into the wind. Winter had done well to prevail here. It was a prime spot and the mana beneath Gaia's soil was strong. Until Spring reappeared and claimed her rightful powers, it would be a very long winter.
"And I am to go nowhere. It is not my place to travel with others. I will not go to your father's council, nor will I seek out my sisters. Fate is a fickle thing and I for one do not want to play her game."

"Then manner of use are you?" answered Pater, folding his arms, "If you are not of any use to me? You tell me of what I can do, but offer no help on how to. The can is useless without the how, as the how is useless without the can. They are one in the same."
With the last of the ice being broken free, or at least enough to let her be freed, the faceless armour returned to its initial position.

OOC Notes
Even if freed from her prison of ice, the woman did not move. She remained sitting and her gaze returned to the arrogant boy who posed as a man. "Are you the kind whom believe that all must serve a purpose unto their own person? Such a greedy one you are, boy. I would take care if I were you lest you be consumed by nothing else aside from your own desires, wants, and enthrallments."
"Winter was consumed by her vanity and look at the world now. Do you find this beautiful? A sparse range of mountains that cannot support the colors of the world. Nothing but white and gray."

OOC Notes
"I grew up with nothing of white and grey," answered Pater, puffing out his chest as he stood, "I find no beauty in leaves, I find them course and uncomfortable. I find as I progress north the heat causes me discomfort. I feel that as I continue on the lands will become harsh and cruel compared to the comforts of my home."
"I find the snow a wondrous thing that provides us water and shelter in plentiful supply. While we struggle in the south, we do not suffer others with our problems!"

OOC Notes
"And so your heart will remain as nothing but white and gray," she simply stated before moving. The woman maneuvered her staff around and used it as support to help her stand. She was not going to ask for assistance from a boy who did not look past his own nose. Pray to Gaia, Taeris did, that he did not come into power for he would lead many down the wrong path. It was what the witch's wisdom had told her, whispered on the winter winds.
There was the sound of ice cracking as Taeris stood up to an enormous seven feet tall. And then it was seen that she was not a woman, but an dryad! Her facade had fallen when she rose from the snow and flesh became like bark, and hair became leaves, her furs were nothing more than the snow itself. What a clever disguise the creature had taken up or had been trapped in for many, many years.

OOC Notes
The boy stood as tall as he could, which was a part of his natural family gift to be six feet tall, only a sliver shorter than his father. "Then so be it. My men will follow me. I will not be coyed by you, nor your sisters. I am a man of the southern lands, and there are none tougher than we."
OOC Notes
"May it be so—"
The sentence was never finished as the dryad turned towards the ledge and looked upon the lands below her. Taeris sighed and her branches shivered causing icicles to dance, even force some to fall. Feet having turned into roots, they dug into the earth, seeking out whatever nutrients may still reside far beneath the soil. Taeris would never again speak, or move. She alone would be the only colorful tree on the mountain with her amaranthine leaves and blue hued bark. And it would remain so as long as Gaia remained.

OOC Notes
Not bothering to order his men, Pater started walking, soon to be followed by the silent metal figures. He continued north, trying to put the meeting from his mind.
OOC Notes
Gary Mandolera looked around in sheer amazement and stared at the stone that the woman had given him earlier. Not directly, though...that might blind him to his surroundings. He hadn't survived this long without being canny about keeping his guard up. Still, the part about calling him he was familiar with. He made sure to listen.
OOC Notes
The stone in Gary Mandolera’s possession would begin to glow brilliantly as if it wished to be revealed and looked upon. It was time for the man to face his challenge in order to claim his sword to prove his worth of being a Champion of Gaia.
But Mother Gaia was growing desperate for souls to save her from the looming darkness. Not only would Gary Mandolera be taken from the world and taken to his trial but two others as well. For those three individuals, the world froze in place. Birds stopped mid-flight. Rivers stopped flowing. A woman’s tear paused just before it could land on the ground. The only three that were able to move were the Chosen three.
Each would have the feeling of their feet lifting off the ground. They would witness—together—a completely dark world where not even hope could shine its light. It was the world that would come to pass if Eras was to rise to power. Everlasting Night. It would strike into each person a different perspective and different emotions.
And then the darkness faded away to reveal another kind of darkness. The room was damp and cold. Water was dripping from a leak in the underground tomb. A torch hung on the wall lit up in an eerie blue fire and bathed the three people in its light. Gary’s stone dulled as if it were weary with exhaustion.

OOC Notes
Alistair Nahan had no idea what was happening. First, he had been in his room, then suddenly, he had felt extremely light and then everything went dark. However, in this darkness, he caught a glimpse of something..a world that could be? Alistair didn't care. However, he woke up with a throbbing headache in an unfamiliar place, lit by a strangely blue torch. Alistair brushed off his dark cloak, getting up slowly, while checking to make sure his daggers were all in their respective positions. All were accounted for - waist, wrists, legs, arms...however, the one on his thigh seemed to have been lost in transit. Aside from that, he noticed two more people inside of the strange room. He quickly slipped into a corner while waiting for a reaction from them. Generally, outsiders didn't take well to knowing his half-daemon heritage.
OOC Notes
Gnomes were funny like that; some say that they are so small that even Fate sometimes overlook them and so they are capable of dynamic change to any given situation even if that change may go unnoticed by those around them.
At three feet tall Brickel is as short as his kind come but he lives up, or out to his name as he is exceptionally... jolly. Okay, he's fat but he doesn't like to call it that. He fancies himself a bit of an enchanter but has always been an alchemist first. He has even concocted his own unique potions known to no other alchemist despite them not being so effective as to become famous or anything. Still, at least they are his.
Yet Fate has not seemed to have forgotten this particular gnome on this particular day as Brickel finds himself being surrounded by a sort of darkness he wishes he had more time to study. He does however smell something along the lines of magical movement and so he frantically begins gathering up everything he thinks he could possibly need which includes a few pre-enchanted gems along with some of his more useful potions held in vials of multiple size. He even manages to grab his custom crossbow and bandoleer but does not catch his small mace before careening down darkened corridors.
And then he is not alone. He would normally hide himself in the shadows but ends up right under the burning torch for all to see. Then again he is very short. Maybe any monsters that might be around would look right over him.

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored
Hey guys,
Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.
You're free to abandon them again if you wish!
Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks!
There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.
In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.
Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:
- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans
And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)
Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.
Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:
- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders
I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.
If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).
[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)
This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.
Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!
Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.
“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.
The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “
The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]
We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.
[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.

THE WEAPONS
Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.
The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.
The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.
It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.
Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.
The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.
Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.
There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.
Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.
The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)
Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.
If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. There are opportunities! They abound, in fact! (Yes, I was looking for an excuse to use the word "abound" in an internet forum post. I successfully created one.) Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?
Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.
I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.
For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.
Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.
And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
