There are several stone roads that run between the many towns though some are nothing more than worn dirt paths. Sometimes curled and knotted trees line the roads but never in more than a few together. A breeze is always present in the air, gentle and comforting in temperate weather. There are manifestations of mana that take the form of stunning and shimmering see-through wyrms that play along the roads. They are seen as a form of ‘good luck’ for passing travelers.
The Golden Vale has been home to many wars and beneath the top soil lays the bodies of thousands of dead soldiers whether they be human, saurian, centaur, elven, and hundreds of other races. Even with such beauty in the land of Siv'en, there is always a dark history behind it.

Her hands holding the Water Stone tightly, Ebony stared at the shining sun. She couldn't help but to think about Ry'nn, hoping that the woman had managed to escape... somehow. Then again, Ebony didn't know how she herself had managed to survive the creatures of that Tower.
Her head hung low as she wondered why she had been chosen, what good her powers were going to do in this place... why her life was worth more than the woman who knew so much more about this world and held so much more power.

The golden barley fields swayed like a calm ocean and The Precursor watched from the shade of an outlying woodland, head turned just barely to the side to see birds hunting mice and the clouds surfing the wind near the horizon. He kept walking, a large spear held in his left hand as though a walking stick; a chain attached between the weapon's blunt end and a lock on the gauntlet of his left arm. Much of this chain dragged easily on the ground, but still he found himself tugging at it once in a while to get it loose from various roots and stones.
He had no idea what he was doing, where he was going, why he was there... Everything was so unrecognizable. He had been stopped earlier that day by an old woman and found a language so similar... Yet so different from his own. Even the smallest of things, like the slight change in vocal grammar, or a different pronunciation of a word was a heavy weight on his mind.
He couldn't quite bring himself out of denial, despite knowing what he was experiencing wasn't some harsh dream.

Ebony soon grew tired of walking, letting her legs give beneath her and tumbling down onto her side in the thick grass. She thought that a snake might strike at her, but remembered that snakes in tall grass were from her world, and that this place might not even have such creatures. A heavy sigh left her lips as she looked around her, wondering if any predators stalked these plains.
Her eyes set upon a figure walking along, wielding a spear chained to his hand. Ebony would have called out, but she knew little of this world's inhabitants. This man could very well be a ruthless marauder, searching for whatever meat he could find--whatever it was. He could be hunting for her, seeking the blue glowing stone that she carried. Or perhaps he was another one of Gaia's champions or a warrior of this world, someone who could help her find her way, help her against the struggles that would come.
She decided that it was better than travelling alone. Raising herself out of the grass, leaving the Water Stone hidden, she called out to the figure. "Hello? Are you from this place?"

The Precursor looked upon Ebony and couldn't help but smile. Company after such a long time alone would indeed be nice - maybe this woman would be able to speak of things without the the age gap and understandable elderly arrogance that the apple-selling senior woman from before had.
He took the spear in his left hand and for a moment, both it and the chain glowed. Then, the objects disappeared to keep from becoming a nuisance; stored in a temporary sub-space so that such a long weapon didn't encumber him.
"I... Am," he finally said, though was hesitant to use those words. "This place seems familiar to me, but my memory holds no such scenery. I hoped that by taking a walk, my mind would betray to me the true reason this is so."

The smile upon the person's face seemed genuine. It gave a little comfort to Ebony to see it, leading her to think that this man was not going to harm her. She bent down, lifting the Water Stone out of the grass. "Thank goodness," she said, shaking her head. I was scared that maybe you were a bandit or something..." Her head lowered. "I don't know where I'm going. This woman, Ry'nn, she took me to this tower made of glass or crystal, she... she took me to this stone, but I think she's dead. I think the monsters there killed her."
Ebony felt her eyes watering and cursed herself in her mind for showing such weakness. Still, she couldn't deny it. "My powers don't work in this place. I was barely able to escape that tower, I don't know what roams in this place, I'm not... from here." Taking a deep breath, she continued, "Do you know where there's somewhere safe? A settlement, a city? I was told that Gaia chose me, but I can't even defend myself."

The day was almost to an end and the former ranger of the woods and collector of priceless gems began to look about at his surroundings. The valley he was in was rather large and perfect for spotting and collecting new ingredients to add to his latest wine he was trying to perfect. Mel began to take a couple more steps forward before noting a couple of people ahead of him conversing over something. So mel just checked his sword that sat within its scabbard and made sure his bow that was strung over his shoulder was just fine before approaching the couple. "Excuse me might I ask you lot if you have seen any juniper berries around these parts?"
OOC Notes
This woman seemed to be quite the Damsel, but he was no worth to her if her requests were anything to go by. Though, her story of a tower and monsters interested him. Surely she couldn't mean... No... When she said monsters, she must have meant evil men, perhaps, or goblins. If his own monsters had killed this "Ry'nn", then the girl before him wouldn't be there to fret over it.
"I know not of this world, I apologize," was all he could really reply with.
Once the gem-collector made his presence known, he turned towards the former Ranger and shook his head. "I don't know of 'Juniper Berries' specifically, though I have seen many on my walk through the woods."

Ebony frowned, taking a moment to wipe her eyes. She glanced at the newcomer, shaking her head. "I wouldn't know about 'juniper berries'... I'm not from this place." She wanted to admit being from another world, but didn't know if something like that was accepted where she found herself--or if the two would even believe her. She folded her arms around the Water Stone, sitting herself down in the grass and looking around her into the distance. Nothing of interest was in sight... the sun showed no signs of setting. Part of her wanted to ask the man who had approached them if he knew where she could go, but she couldn't bring herself to speak. She didn't know what she could say to make anything better.
OOC Notes
"By the oak father your are kind enough to grant my hopes for finding some before the sun were to fall." Mel smiled as he looked at the man only to then take note of how distressed the lady there was. "Miss might I ask what troubles you? I am truly sorry if it sounds like I was eves dropping but might I ask who this friend of yours is that you have lost?" Mel simply continued to smile and began to look off into the distance past the two that were there as if spotting something but he only began to shrug and awaited for the response of the woman that was here.
OOC Notes
He had questions he wanted to ask. Questions he could get answers for without the quipping of an old woman belittling him for being 'childish'. Yet this was not the time nor place. Ebony had concerns which seemed far more important than his own and then, there was the newcomer and his berries to deal with. Surely hunger was what drove him, if berries were his prize.
"I will stay for a while, for I believe I may be of some help to at least one of you."
Despite his rather good-nature, helping strangers was one of those things he had tended to avoid, so long ago.. Here though, he knew he had nothing better to do.

OOC Notes
Ebony looked up to the man, still frowning. "This woman, Ry'nn... she took me to this tower, to find this." She lifted the Water Stone, staring at the blue glow of it for a second. "But the monsters there attacked her, I don't think she made it. I barely made it myself..." Rubbing her forehead, she looked between the two men, then asked Mel, "Do you know where any settlements or cities are? Somewhere I can find something or someone to protect myself? I have magic, but with the sun... it's useless." She had to wonder again why Gaia "chose" her for whatever role she was to fill.
OOC Notes
Orion had awaken in the middle of the woods after falling asleep in Gambit's bar. He began stumbling through the woods. As he stumbled along his head became suddenly clear. He immediately checked to see if his bow and quiver were still on his back. He was releived to discover that they were. He came to a path on which he saw a group of people. He remained in the thick of the wood. He watched and listened as the three conversed. His bow in hand he crept forward, slowly and quietly. He intended to learn where he was without being noticed.
OOC Notes
"There is a city not to far from here and a tavern that I and a dwarf own together. Look for the Dwarven Stout when you get there." Mel spoke only to smile a little. "If you like we can go back to see if that woman you spoke of is ok and after that we can travel back to the city I came from and get you a nice bed and something to eat." Mel spoke. His keen elven senses did not pick up anyone around him probably due to him not worrying so much. "I am sure that me and that man right there can handle just about anything that comes our way."
OOC Notes
He too remained blissfully unaware of any sort of presence lurking in the woods, so he continued to look from the elf to the girl and listen curiously. However, when Mel spoke of going to face whatever danger had taken Ebony's friend, he suddenly seemed unsure of the extent of his involvement...
The call was gone. Was he even meant to be here? Was he meant to help anyone? Would it interfere with their fate, his own? Should he turn and walk the other way, or was it not worth getting worried over such things?
"I am not sure what I can handle..."

OOC Notes
A small smile crossed Ebony's face. "A tavern... I'd appreciate it if you took me there, or to the city. I certainly don't want to go back to that tower, where those naga are." She recalled more about the tower itself. "There isn't a way in, actually. Ry'nn had to teleport us inside, I think." She wondered if it was Ry'nn's power or something else's will that allowed them to enter. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she looked between the two men. "Is there anything dangerous in these parts? I don't think I'd be able to help fight like this."
OOC Notes
"Naga? Snake people? I recall tangling with their kind once before." Mel spoke quickly only to listen to the question that this woman asked. "I have been walking these woods for some time and besides the random wolf or bear I would not be worried." Mel was pleased to talk to someone and he looked at the stone that the woman held within her hands. "I would assume that you two are hungry and in need of a place to stay. Just follow me and I will be able to lead you two out of these woods." More customers to the Stout would bring the profits of the tavern up a little and maybe with new faces things would run a little more smoothly.
OOC Notes
The Dwarven Stout... A tavern. Not the best place to collect information. Orion decided that if he was going to gain what he was listening for, he would have to reveal himself. Orion stepped out of the wood and gave a small bow. The legendary Archer of Terra himself stood before the three. "Excuse me," started Orion, "But you folks wouldn't happen to know where on Terra I am?" The appearance of the Archer probably startled the group, but then to be asked a question about a planet that they may have never been to was probably another shock. The blissfully unaware Orion thought he was still on his home world. Perhaps even near his home of Wing City, but he was poorly mistaken.
OOC Notes
He kept himself mostly absent from the bulk of the conversation, except for speaking when he felt his opinion should be heard. The offer of a 'place to stay' seemed to lift his spirits though, despite knowingly having no form of currency on him.
"That would be nice of you, Sirrelf," he answered the Elf, calling him something he didn't expect to still be used. 'Sirrelf' was clearly 'Sir Elf', showing that even in the ancient times his people had been known to him. In fact, finding out that such people still lived on the world put a great ease on his worried burden of a mind.
He went quiet again just in time for Orion to show himself, while shifting back off to the side in basic caution. After positioning himself and turning so all were in his view, he answered the famous archer with, "I know not of Terra, friend."

OOC Notes
Ebony almost leapt in fear at the sudden voice that came from behind. She turned around to see the archer standing there, almost dropping the Water Stone when she realized that the person wasn't hostile. Hearing him speak about Terra reminded Ebony of her own world, but while she knew it as a city, he seemed to speak of it as a land or another world... and the Terra she knew didn't have archers. "I don't think you are where you think you are," Ebony said sadly, shaking her head. "We're certainly not where I used to live, the place I called home."
She looked at the archer, wondering if he was one of those that Gaia chose. He seemed far more fit for any destiny in this place than Ebony felt she herself was.

OOC Notes
Melthandon Aldavathar began to smile and nodded to the spearmen. "The Stout could use more bodies in it so bringing you there would be a pleasure. I am sure Hfahn would be pleased as well." Mel began to think about the dwarf only to notice the archer who stepped out of the bush. "Terra?!" Mel just smirked. "Your no longer on that world sir. You have somehow crossed to another plane and came to this world. Mel turned to Orion only to laugh a little. "Tell me are the Aschen still roaming about destroying the forests and glassing planets?" Mel asked only to laugh a little. It was almost like yesterday when Roy Cullens had transported his entire family and a few of his friends over to this world to start a better life instead of dealing with all of that technology that was creeping upon the borders of controlling everything. "You look familiar to me. Come and join me as I was just about to show these two back to the city I had come from."
OOC Notes
Orion was put off by the talk of Terra. He was no longer where he belonged, he accepted that. When asked if he would guide the wielder of the spear and the girl to the tavern they had been speaking of he shrugged, "Why not?" He put his bow on his back. "Well, if I look familiar, it's probably because of my Archery competition record. The Aschen? I've not heard much of them." He did not keep up on the wars of the galaxy. "So, shall we go to this city of yours?" Orion was a bit impatient now that he knew he was no longer on Terra.
OOC Notes
With nothing else to lose, he decided to follow the group. "Lead on then, Sirrelf," he answered while gesturing with his arm for Melthandon to show the way to their destination. He kept himself out of the talk of destruction and 'Aschen', whatever they were, to instead enjoy the view and examine his surroundings.
He could follow without complaint, waiting to reach The Stout.

OOC Notes
Ebony nodded, looking at the impromptu gathering in the grass. "I'll come," she said. "I just hope nothing's out there..." She almost said her worries about something hunting the stone she carried, knowing only that it was valuable but not what its real purpose or power was.
She listened to the conversation between the archer and the elf, wondering if the archer's connection to someone in this world was the reason why he was here. She doubted it, but her mind had turned to every theory that came to her to explain what was going on.

OOC Notes
Melthandon Aldavathar took the group out of the woods and into Skyfall Citadel only to smile. "Welcome to the city my friends." Mel began to smirk as he made his way through the streets till they came across two taverns facing one another. There was of course that horrid place and then the Stout.
OOC Notes
The city did not impress Orion. He was not sure any city could compared to Wing City, but the two taverns facing each other interested him. One of them ought to be better than that horrid plac called Gambit's Bar. With nothing to lose Orion asked, "Are we going to go inside the Stout, or are we going to stand out here and marvel at it's glory?" Orion's impatience showed once again. The longer he was in this world, the longer it would take to find his father's bow. Unless... Could it be possible that his bow was in this new world?

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored
Hey guys,
Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.
You're free to abandon them again if you wish!
Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks!
There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.
In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.
Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:
- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans
And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)
Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.
Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:
- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders
I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.
If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).
[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)
This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.
Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!
Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.
“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.
The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “
The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]
We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.
[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.

THE WEAPONS
Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.
The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.
The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.
It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.
Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.
The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.
Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.
There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.
Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.
The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)
Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.
If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?
Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.
I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.
For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.
Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.
And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
