Stepping out into the void, I find there is no air. I spend the remaining 27 seconds contemplating whether or not the experience is painful, before passing out of conscious existence.

Mr. Yee stood in a high luxury room observing the vastness of space before him, off in the distance the planet of Terra within his sights. The businessman dwell within the company's private space platform, mostly a station used to fuel and load carriers that moved into and out of the Planet's orbit. Still this platform held some luxury quarters and board rooms and lounging for visiting executives.
Out in the distance the businessman could see a very large cube, being tugged by three Capital Carriers Ships that were dwarfed by it. He observed the few other arm chairs around him as the luxury room remained rather unlit for the moment as he turned to the entrance way awaiting his the several very important guests his employer desired to him to speak with tonight.

Mjr. General Had-Medeen inhaled the fabricated air; his mind recognizing that stale, almost chalky taste of recycled air as the elevator rolled up to the observation deck of the Terran station. It had been sold off as Coalition equipment following WAR, just like most of the infrastructure of the entire planet after hostilities ended; though with the situation quickly escalating, both the Major General and all forces on Terra were operating at a heightened state of alert. But to be a good guard-dog, you must also be a good watch-dog. As the elevator slowed, the door opened, and the armored Major General Had-Medeen stepped through the doorway.
"Mister Yee, I am Major General Had-Medeen, commander of the Territorial Authority forces in Wing City, and Economics Advisor for the industrial complexes in the city," He said, stalling his approach before angling his back toward the wall and lowering his hand for the entrance of the one Mister Yee had truly hoped the arrival of.

Cmndt. Vanko idly stepped through the doors as the Major General had done seconds before him. Shrouded in his heavy, khaki tunic synonymous with the TCCA, the Commandant regarded the Terran installation with a scrupulous eye as he disembarked the lift and struck for the observation deck. Passing by Had-Medeen, the Zhakistow raised one hand to his forehead in a salute before placing both his hands at his sides and remaining silent as the Commandant spoke.
"I was unaware to gain a physical image of the device over our communications; but now I'm certain you'll have the greatest opportunity to display your object in its greatest glory now, however ... " He said as he approached the window; his arms were shrouded beneath his tunic, but it was obvious they were crossed over his chest.
"But, I must apologize for my lack of consideration -- the Terrans have been proving quite the handful lately, and I've found myself restricted to Center-9 for the majority of the month."

Mr. Yee turned around to greet the military and economic official as the lights activated in the room. The businessman had a cool and emotionless face about him, the somber look never changing for a moment. The calculating man took a small stride over to Major General Had-Medeen remaining elegant and formal in posture, tone and composure.
"Commander Had-Medeen, it is a most agreeable commitment that you have arrive to this station. On behalf of my employer, I welcome you to Orbital Platform Station Hermes." he greeted. With that his attention then turned to Second Man that had entered into the room as well. The Businessman knew this was a very important man within the triple alliance to the Terra occupation. "That is perfectly understandable Commandant Vanko Welcome onboard." he claimed "I am Ayama Yee Nervena, General Manager of the Terran Branch of The Montesque Machines and Industry Corporation." he claimed as he motioned to the well stocked bar not so far behind "Before we continue, may I ask if you would like something to drink sirs? It has come to my understanding the trip to high orbit was somewhat... time consuming."

OOC Notes
By Mr. Yee is a strange device upon the bar that appeared to be somewhat of filter that could transfer to narrow passages. Most likely a method for Major General Had-Medeen to enjoy a drink without removing his mask/
OOC Notes
Cmndt. Vanko nodded as he stared through the heavy glass into the darkness of space. Above Terra, the blackness grew to magnitudes unimaginable as Vanko admired the Terran starships maneuvering in the distance Though what had been told to him sounded certainly ... intense, Vanko had learned to regard even the most fool-proof of plans with skepticism.
"It certainly was; we were held over in low-orbit, Aschen transports were prioritized for the star lift." He remarked indifferently, still focused intently on the vastness before him.
"But now that I'm present, my interest has been piqued by this device. Terra has long served as an intuitive center-piece of the galaxy, the Coalition is always supporting the expansion of Sol."

Mr. Yee somewhat nodded his head "Of course Commandant Vanko." he claimed as he motioned back to the observation deck somewhat observing the large cube still dwarfing the capital class cruiser that were now in process of getting away from the testing sight. He took a look into space for a moment before uttering the words "Computer... Access Cameras 3, 9 and 11... Place on Screen: Top Observation Deck." he claimed and with that three holographic screens appeared upon the screen.
Upon the screen revealed a most curious sight, it appeared a strange globe made of silvery slick plating. This sphere like spacecraft appeared to be slightly larger than the average capital class ship and had Two very well structured rods of sorts being stuck through its polar ends.
"Gentleman.... may I please introduce you to the Montesque Corporation's latest project: The Self Sustaining Gravity Accelerator Model Nine... Also known as the SSGA M9. The craft is has a highly resistance alloy almost immune to more high energy plasma blast. Capable of Wrap Travel, equipped with revolutionary defense matrix technology... but I believe you will find its offensive capabilities most interesting out of all its qualities Gentleman.." he proposed.

Cmndt. Vanko lightening his brow at the explanation, his interests were tickled at the Terran's words. Looking over his shoulder, Had-Medeen had resolved himself to silent observation; the Zhakistow's piercing dark eyes could even throw a wrench into Vanko's step. Disembarking his position at the glass, his attention quickly went to the holographic displays, observing as if he had the mind of a small child watching his first moving image or landing starship.
"Very interesting, Mister Yee ... The Coalition has long struggled with gravity manipulation, but I see the Terrans have made leaps and bounds in these fields."
"Very interesting, Mister Yee ... The Coalition has long struggled with gravity manipulation, but I see the Terrans have made leaps and bounds in these fields."
OOC Notes
Mr. Yee turned to nod his head to Commandant Vanko "My employer comes from a sector of space that has long developed this matter of technology. Such stations like these benefit from gravity acceleration as it allows us to motion about without the worry of zero gs." he commented as he adjusted his tie. The businessman somewhat reached into his pocket as he pulled out a slick hand held device that produced a clear small holographic image when he opened it. There stood the image of a rather old gentleman looking officer.
"Good evening Rear Admiral Yorrick, proceed with the demonstration..." he complied. The old man merely nodded his head hit his pipe a few times and spoke in a rather heavy gentlemanly southern accent "Why of course Mr. Nervena... You and your guests just relax and enjoy yourselves." he claimed as the image vanished once more. Upon the screens the SSGA M9 began to move at a rather sublight speed.

OOC Notes
"The technology upon the SSGA M9 is one that is something far more different than then its usual use. You will its effect rather break through space warfare..."
OOC Notes
Cmndt. Vanko regarded the Terran Admiral with a respectful nod, the then-General Vanko had spoken highly of the Terrans that resisted the Coalition's initial assault on the planet. The offensive had nearly stalled, something that could have earned Vanko an early retirement or a summary execution; which he had attributed to the vigor and drive of not only the Terran ground commanders, but the Terran Admirals and Navy staff as well. Perhaps this Rear Admiral had withstood the Coalition assault and managed to survive to fight another day -- countless Terran combatants had slipped through Vanko's search following the TCCA.
"I'm impressed already, Mister Yee."
"I'm impressed already, Mister Yee."
OOC Notes
Mr. Yee took a seat at one of the arm chairs now taking full view of the large cube that was in orbit easily dwarfing the station that was suppose to dock and fuel Capital Class Carriers 20 times over. Almost taking the whole view of the observation deck from a certain angle the slick reflection of the SSGA M9 could be seen slowly entering from its edge.
Mr. Yee somewhat looked to Vanko as he address the official "I would like to sincerely ask that you reserve your initial joys for a mere moment..." He then accessed something upon the hand held device opening the screen as though it was a app menu and pressing a bottom "Voice Recognition final seal... Unlock... Ayama Yee Nervena... Code Apollo... Activate Combat Capabilities." With that the man hang up his device and placed it neatly back into his jacket.
The executive motioned to pour a glass of gin and port as the four tips of the weapon began to glow immensely. Slowly the edges of the massive neosteel cube began to wrinkle as the cube force shield began to activate as though it was under threat... Quickly it began to crumble more and more within it self like paper as it began to decrease in size and its force field vanishing more and more imploding inward as it seemed to just vanish within itself.
"That was a highly resistance, forced field full cube of neosteel... Size estimate 19 Kilometers by 23 Kilometers by 15 Kilometers... Camera 18.." he commanded as it appeared a screen of Terra before it began to zoom showing nothing but a strange crumbled up piece of scrap. "Reduced to small ball of close to..." he took a moment to check the calculations "3 centimeters in radius."

OOC Notes
Cmndt. Vanko watched the device boil away in the blackness. Vanko's eyes narrowed for a moment, as if struggling to comprehend the sciences behind the disruption before him. As he did, Vanko widened his stance while he watched the operation. It was certainly an achievement of science, though the exact specifics Vanko could hardly comprehend at the moment.
" ... I'm thoroughly impressed again, Mister Yee ... What exactly are the mechanics of this equipment?"
" ... I'm thoroughly impressed again, Mister Yee ... What exactly are the mechanics of this equipment?"
OOC Notes
Mr. Yee took a mere sip of the tonic as he turned to Vanko "Our research department that is one that is rather extensive. . . The way which I was explained in this matter was that there is actually a very small digit of pressure and temperature in space and that our scientist have discover a way to create a matrix which increases pressure around this area. . The exact process is one of the companies' highest secrets." he claimed.
OOC Notes
"To a rather... extreme porpotion, one that not even pressurized spacecraft can maintain.
OOC Notes
Cmndt. Vanko made a face of subtle understanding; he was aware that corporate secrets had to be held closely, a similarity in both Terran and Scatterran business -- everyone is an enemy.
"A variable pressure network ... So the neosteel bars, forms a simple crush-box around the starship?"
"A variable pressure network ... So the neosteel bars, forms a simple crush-box around the starship?"
OOC Notes
"One might infer so." he complied "Though there are ways where such sciences and this model can be yours." he claimed
OOC Notes
Cmndt. Vanko nodded at the aspect of a transaction. Though Vanko was unaware of what this could possibly cost to the Coalition, what it represented as a weapon was far too great to look past. Steadying himself beside the glass, Vanko gave one glance to the Major General.
"I'm certain there are those back in the Coalition that would find this a great opportunity to further the galactic cause ... What was the expenditure of this?"
"I'm certain there are those back in the Coalition that would find this a great opportunity to further the galactic cause ... What was the expenditure of this?"
OOC Notes
Mr. Yee remain composed and calm as he remain formally seated. "It has come to my understanding that your government is going to vote on its convert defense budget in the next few weeks... The general price of this model, schematics, specialists, codes to access and training to man this vessel would range to the price of close to 13 Trillion Wing City Bank Notes... A transaction that would be close to 11 Trillion in your own currency."
OOC Notes
Cmndt. Vanko mentally formulated the expenditures. UCON would probably pump much more than the initial 11 trillion Cays into the naturalization of the weapon. The Commandant was well aware he couldn't afford it -- the TCCAs budget was barely an estimated 8 - 10 trillion Cays. With the growing Coalition economy estimated to raise 45 thousand trillion Cays in the fiscal year, though, Vanko was certain someone else in the Coalition would find this of extreme interest.
"Eleven trillion Cays is quite a big withdrawal ... though to make money, one must spend money."
"Eleven trillion Cays is quite a big withdrawal ... though to make money, one must spend money."
OOC Notes
Mr. Yee raised from his seat as he adjusted the position of his jacket "Than might we have an understanding Commandant Vanko?" he inquired.

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored
Hey guys,
Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.
You're free to abandon them again if you wish!
Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks!
There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.
In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.
Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:
- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans
And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)
Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.
Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:
- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders
I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.
If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).

[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)
This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.
Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!
Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.
“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.
The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “
The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]
We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.
[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.

THE WEAPONS
Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.
The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.
The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.
It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.
Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.
The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.
Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.
There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.
Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.
The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)
Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.
If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. There are opportunities! They abound, in fact! (Yes, I was looking for an excuse to use the word "abound" in an internet forum post. I successfully created one.) Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?
Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.
I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.
For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.
Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.
And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
