The Tech Con Terran HQ Was a towering building in Wing City, it's black glass finish gleaming in the sunlight. The streets in Tech Con's sector of the city were wide and opened, lined with trees on both sides. The entire city reflected Aschen architecture, with jagged, ultra-modern glass and trinnium buildings towering high into the sky. Transports belonging to Tech Con came and went from the spaceport, and Tech Con vehicles prowled the streets.
Dane Vogel would be in his office, the penthouse suite of this towering 167 story building, the city at Vogel's fingertips. Holographic screens flickered at his sides, and behind him, showing the city in a Tech Con light, with painted in modern buildings jutting out from where the slums should be.

Through the bustling streets of Wing City slid the sleek prow of an air-car of unknown make, its glossy black carapace looking distinctly alien against the background of the normal traffic. Beside it swung a pair of jetbikes, also painted the same black of the air-car, with muzzled cannons hanging between the jagged wing-pods.
The air-car touched down on the pavement beside the Tech Con HQ with barely a sound, the armoured gull-wing door hissing open as the two occupants got out. One was gnarled and stooped, leaning on a simple iron cane. Beside him stood a veritable mountain of a man, his suit bulging, revealing the black combat armour underneath. He nodded briefly at the two outriders, ordering them to wait with the vehicle.
The pair passed the security desk, the larger of the two depositing a sub-compact rail-carbine and a pistol at the security desk, before sheparding his partner into the lift.
The elder man's cane scratched on the floor as they entered the penthouse, his partner's grey eyes flicking about the room, looking for automated defenses and cameras. His partner was first to speak. "Ser Vogel, I presume. I am Rogal Orpheo, Trade Envoy of Vasikin Bio Tech Incorporated, and this is my associate, Messer Koni."

Dane Vogel smiled as he looked up from his desk, two RDA mercenaries gripping their Disruptor rifles before Vogel waved them off. "Mr. Orpheo... Mr. Koni, welcome to the Hagan Building." He said as he flicked off the holographic view of Tech Con's plans for the city behind him.
"I'm glad you could join me." He added, before he depressed the intercom. "Jaime.. can you have someone bring up some water for me? Thanks." He said, before he shifted in his seat.
"What can we, at Tech Con do for you?"

Koni had stiffened as the guards with rifles moved away, tensing like a feline ready to spring, but a sharp look from Orpheo brought him down, as he moved to stare out over the city from the plate glass window.
"Vasikin needs a way into the Local Region. We need to set up a steady supply line between the Local Region and our home. I would suggest a trade agreement between our corporations. We feel that the bio-technologies that we have been working on could greatly benefit you."

Dane Vogel laughed, and then he looked up to a young secretary whom placed a pitcher of water on Vogel's desk. Then Vogel brought up information on a dossier, the Anquietas text scrolling across the flickering screen.
"Letting another corporation into the Local Region wouldn't Benifet Tech Con like you think it would, it would be a matter that we would have to discuss further." He said, before he turned out to look out at the city. "We're working on forcing OmniCorp out of the city and into bankruptcy... what could your company offer us.. to put us on the edge over OmniCorp?" He asked, turning on his chair to face the two.
"Data provided by the absorbed Confederacy also tells me that your CEO cowed to the Vatakuec, can you confirm this?"

At the mention of the "Vatakuec" Koni perked up, turning away from the window, his hand moving towards his jacket. Again, Orpheo gave him a sharp glare, before turning back to Vogel.
"Vasikin has massive assets in the arms production market, especially relating to armoured vehicles such as tanks. And, that particular CEO died in a mysterious car accident twenty years ago, to be succeeded by our current head, Messer Tantalid. He is currently working on supplying various resistance groups across the Confederacy territories. We have to be as covert as possible, you understand, otherwise we would be quite literally liquidated."
Orpheo stopped speaking, to break down in a fit of coughing, Koni slowly circling Vogel's desk, tugging on the lapel of his jacket.

Dane Vogel was silent as he listened to the statements. "Tech Con also has a large weapons production division, what are you trying to sell me here?" He asked, before he looked to some paperwork on his desk. Then he turned back up to the two men. "I just don't know if it's the right move for Tech Con.. I might need a little incentive." He said, watching Koni as he circled.
"Why are you so interested in Tech Con?"

Koni had stepped away from the window, and produced a small data-pad from one of his suit pockets, keying in a series of commands on the glossy screen. Orpheo suddenly seemed less stooped, the wrinkles falling away from his face, his frame becoming less gnarled and much more like his partners.
"Honestly, Messer Vogel, this entire deal has been a pretense, to gain access to your offices." This sharp, completely deadpan statement rang out from Orpheo's mouth, his hand twitching aside his jacket to reveal the combat armour below
Before anyone in the office had time to take notice of this fact, a dull impact rocked the tower, emanating from somewhere the middle, around floor sixty. Anyone watching from street-level would witness the glossy black air-car thrum into life, and rapidly speed away from the tower, before pitching, turning a lazy semi-circle in the air, before hurtling towards the tower like a slightly unwieldy missile.
Sparks of small muzzle-flashes glittered where the head-lamps should be, neatly shattering the plate-glass windows, allowing the air-car to slash into the interior of the building. A few seconds later, the whump of a detonation rang out, the shockwave shattering every window on the floor. Almost an instant later, a massive fireball rolled out of every window on the floor, as over five-hundred pounds of fuel-air explosive detonated, rapidly heating every molecule of oxygen in the air to over six thousand degrees.
The effect on the building would be catastrophic, as the explosion would either weaken or destroy any structural beams keeping the building together, along with the elevator shaft, preventing any RDA troops from reaching Vogel's office. [c/]

As the building rocked and shook, the pair of jet-bike outriders returned, circling the burning building like flies around a corpse, the 20mm cannons hooked between their wings unshrouded, rifles hanging from the shoulders of the armoured troopers riding them. They made a beeline for the penthouse, where Orpheo and Koni had pulled off their suits, revealing glossy black combat armour. Orpheo had a pair of ultra-compact carbines magnetically locked under his arms, which he removed, tossing one to Koni, who slipped in a twenty round clip of 7.62, which also doubled as the weapon's hand-grip.
With the weapon in his hands, Koni round behind Vogel's desk as smoke engulfed the room, ready to engage the RDA guards if they returned, or put down Vogel should he make any attack on them.
Orpheo peeled off the wrinkled prosthetic face, revealing a hard, battle-scarred visage, heavily augmented by cybernetics. “So, Mr Vogel. How does it feel to be attacked in your own building?” [Done]

Dane Vogel looked down to his desk as the building rocked and rumbled, her trinnium support members holding fast despite the attacks, though the building swayed and shuddered, Vogel managed to depress a small button under his desk, and then he looked up. "You're good, but have you considered an exit plan?" He asked, then he straightened.
"Of course I'd be willing to return to negotiations." He said, before one of the Jet bikes was swiftly cut down, followed by the second by a lance of energy, it was then Vogel suddenly ducked under his desk as the hulking form of a PCF Gunship loomed in the window, augmented by a second, with their white hulls gleaming in the sunlight.
On their wing tips two rotary emplacements began to spin, whirring loudly before bathing the entire office, and the two men with rapid-fire plasma ordinance, a second PCF Gunship looped around and swatted down anything else that encroached on the Tech Con building.
After the initial plasma salvo, the first gunship turned on it's side, laying down suppression fire with it's starboard rotary plasma cannons, it then smashed it's side into the building, two doors thrown open to allow power armored RDA Mercenaries to roll in, both of them wielding gattling lasers, then several more rolled in armed with disruptors, one quickly throwing Vogel behind him and allowing the CEO to silently crawl towards the Gunship.
It was then a loudspeaker boomed in the room, if the men weren't gunned down already.
"Surrender, place your hands on your head, get on your knees, and cross your ankles." The speaker boomed. By now, RDA Personnel on Airfrigates and Technicals had surrounded the building, sealing it off from potential escape.

Prachai Ranida had been taking a walk along the grounds of Fort Veritas when an enormous fireball appeared in the northern skies from the direction of Wing City a few miles up the road on the Wing City Highway. Just fucking perfect -- blue skies and sun peeping from behind the clouds and then suddenly an explosion, dots along the horizon -- vehicles of some sort, and then the unmistakeable outlines of gunships.
What. The. Hell. Then again, he did live in Wing City where, apparently, this kind of thing was just another average day. He sincerely hoped that Parliament would fucking do something about the senseless violence that fed off the city's negative energies. Ranida whipped out his cell phone as he ran toward the door, heading for the central command center. "Scramble a unit of airships to Wing City, NOW," he ordered, his words already taking shape in the form of a unit of five airships lifting from Fort Veritas's grounds and zooming toward the source of the altercation. It would take them another good sixty seconds to arrive.

; Less than 4 kilometers away, the engines of the two Cricket VTOLs screamed as the Major General pointed the first team of ITDM medics onto their airjet. As the black-armored soldiers hussled their way into the troop compartment, a marine squad readied their equipment a few meters from the launch platform. In the distance, smoke could be seen rising into the bright mid-day sky over Wing City; the Major General cursed under his breath as he watched the first loaded Cricket pull away into the air. The large red cross painted onto the sides and bottom of the VTOL should have been enough to denote the humanitarian mission.
"This is Major General Had-Medeen of FOB Darkhammer to Terran Authority Dispatch -- I have to Cricket medi-vac birds on the way to provide first-reaction treatment. I have numerous airborne contacts on the scope ... You sure this isn't a military exercise?" Had-Medeen inquired as he watched the final Cricket rise into the air, the massive engines of the VTOL howling in agony for more altitude.
Striker One One was the lead Cricket ambulance, while One Two was carrying half a platoon of marines armed to provide security for the immediate medical responders.
"This is Striker One One inbound for medical evacuations -- seeing plenty of gunk on the finders down there, is that Hagan Avenue?"
"This is One Two, confirming a surprise attack -- that looks like Tech Con HQ over there."

The two troopers backed away, letting the ultra-compact rifles fall to the ground, hands clapping to the back of their armoured heads. Koni looked at his partner, who kept his eyes fixed in the middle-distance, the radio implanted directly into the side of his head buzzing.
At street level, in the crowd of panicking civilians and RDA personnel sat a pair of hulking GV-12 Sabers, painted in the colours of the WCPD, with legitimate numbers painted to the roof. The thing that was decidedly illegitimate about the vehicles, was the eight SAM tubes mounted on the roof. Inside, a pair of nondescript policemen flicked on their radios. "Multiple air-targets inbound. Light 'em up."
Sixteen hyper-velocity surface-to-air missiles lept away from the tubes, four aimed at the gunship locked into the side of the tower, the rest splitting between the Terran gunships and the UCON medi-vac Crickets.

The first gunship buckled and rocked at the impact of the first SAM, white shields flickering as the craft rocked with the explosion. Of course, being a space borne frigate, it was capable of handling a few missile strikes, and so the WCPD Sabers would be targeted by the Frigate's underside Fuel-rod cannon, which returned fire with a single Hypersonic plutonium slug. And of course the Sabers got the attention of the Technicals, which unloaded with everything from 35mm Fuel Rod Cannons, to rotary plasma fire before two Tech Con painted Myrmidon HBT's came barreling down the main road.
"Hotel-Bravo this is Papa one, I've got the origin of the AA Fire in my sights, clear the road of civvies and light em up." The Tank Commander said, as the massive four-tread Dual-barreled tank trundled up to the Saber, unleashing two powerful shots from it's dual-gauss cannons.
The thing that was illigitimate about the Sabers, was that the WCPD didn't patrol and secure the Tech Con district, rather it was the RDA That did so. And so the response was swift, given the location of Tech Con's HQ to it's Armory, it was able to man and send in units quickly and efficiently.
The other three missiles headed to the first gunship were fooled by the nanoreflective superheated chaff that was fired outwards in all directions, aimed at causing premature detonations by interfering with the detonator, of course the proximity would cause another flicker of the shields, and rock the frigate once more.
Inside the Power Armored RDA Personnel began to close in on the two, with one of them drawing a pair of binders.
"You dun goof'd." One of the soldiers said. Even as a proverbial war-zone unfolded outside.
"Striker One One this is PCF Alpha, we're taking heavy fire, we have a class one terrorist incursion and need immediate medical assistance, we have wounded, how copy."

"Negative, Major-General," responded a man with slightly accented English over the comms system. "This is Admiral Fatih Sayilgan, commander of Fort Veritas. General Ranida just scrambled a unit of fighters to the source of the conflict. No military exercises have been cleared or scheduled for the next week; this is a terrorist attack or a violation of Terra sovereignty."
The five airships bore the seal of the Terran National Government, and appeared to be of an older design in contrast to the newer technologies other nations could boast. "Alpha One to Alpha team, site is Tech Con Headquarters," crackled the voice of the Terran point man as the airships bore down on Wing City. Each ship bore eight men and a pilot, and were intended for planetary combat. "Hold on, we got missiles incoming," he continued in a decidedly calm voice. After all, the military wasn't for the squeamish.
The Terran gunships split immediately, screaming upwards into the atmosphere above the Tech Con Headquarters and releasing chaff on board, twisting as they ascended in an attempt to evade the missiles. "Alpha One to CentCom, confirmed hostile presence, hostiles unidentified, request immediate assistance!"
"Affirmative," replied Sayilgan from within the central communications room, "Scrambling additional unit now." A second set of five gunships rose from Fort Veritas and headed toward the Tech Con Headquarters.

Strike One One was zipping above the city at an altitude of 2km before a bright flash of light announced the Cricket's electronic-countermeasure array; inside the cockpit, however, the droning howl of a missile incoming continued to scream in the pilot's ears.
"One One! We've got missiles inbound, high-velocity close proxis -- countermeasures didn't shake 'em, evasive manuvers! This is Striker One One, cut the path, cut the path!" The frantic radio calls followed as the Cricket bucked down through a field of clouds, hoping to confuse as many of them as possible. The first SAM ripped through the cloud coverage, narrowly missing the Cricket by 60 meters and racing farther into the sky. Two more missiles followed the Cricket out of the bank of cloud coverage.
"Alpha this is One One, we are inbound! God dammit, these things won't give up!"
The second Cricket brought itself low to the ground, practically skimming the rooftops as the two lateral bay doors of the VTOL were yanked open to reveal the marines inside.
"This is Master Sergeant Kopp -- no medi-evac opens up with fuckin' surface to air missiles! We need to put down -- incoming!" The Master Sergeant yelled before a SAM ripped away the left engine of the VTOL; as the craft spiralled out of control, the pilot yanked the belly of the Cricket upward as the vehicle crash landed and rolled over onto itself before coming to rest in the middle of a, thankfully empty, intersection.
"This is Had-Medeen, I have one Cricket down and unknown casualties -- Striker One One, you get those wounded evac, I'll put out a QRF for my marines. FOB Darkhammer is operating Red Hot, General."

As the RDA closed on the pair, Koni sprang into action, smashing his fist into the closest trooper, darting past the remainder, a pair of incendiary grenades detaching from his belt as he hurled himself through a heavily cracked window, dropping out into the smoke-filled air of Wing City. An anti-grav unit fitted between his shoulder blades regulated his descent, and he rapidly disappeared into the sprawl of the city. Orpheo simply snatched up his carbine and put a bullet through his soft palate.
On a lonely rooftop looking out over the carnage below, the remainder of the ten man cell took up position. The 25mm Anti-material rifles swiftly picked off the gunners on the Technicals, while the whoosh-crack of a soft-launch anti-tank weapon hurled a thermobaric warhead down onto the weaker top armour of the Myrmidon.
Beside the dull crack of the anti-material rifles, a pair of 40mm grenade-launchers chattered into life, spraying clouds of conductive buckshot down into the civilians and RDA alike.

With Vogel on board the first Gunship, it quickly pulled away and then broke away from the window, once they saw the men on the rooftop, the Pilot pointed it out.
"We got men on that rooftop firing down on those positions, PCF Beta, close in and light them up, we're pulling for orbit." The Pilot radioed as the Gunship lifted up into the skies, while the second pulled around the height of the building, spotting the Ten Men cell.
"Targets located, locking on..." The Pilot said. "Gunner one, take them down." He said as the Airfrigate swooped over the rooftop, showering it with green bolts of death, circling it and raining fire on the formation.
Down below several Technicals went up in brilliant explosions, while the AT Weapon collided with the energy shields of the Myrmidon HBT, then punching through and hitting armor, it was enough to severely damage the tank, but not cripple it.
"We're taking fire from above! They're all around us!" One Tank Commander screamed.
"We've lost power, that AT round struck the main reactor, we're sitting ducks." A Lieutenant reported.
Meanwhile the PCF Looped back around, pointing it's nose towards the rooftop and deploying what looked like a gun barrel lined up on it's dorsal structure.
"Sir, MAC Deployed, charging for fire solution." The PCF Commander reported, before a deafening whir and clunk echoed in the area, before a 18 inch Hyperconductive MAC Slug was delivered towards the rooftop, decimating everything atop that building and taking half the building with it.
"Targets Neutralized, cooling MAC now."

"Targets Neutralized, cooling MAC now."
OOC Notes
Terran civilians on the streets screamed, running for their lives across recently paved roads and weaving between parking signs and trees. Several were gunned down in brilliant flashes of fire and blood splattering the asphalt in a crude approximation of a Jackson Pollock painting. Acrid smoke and the bitter stench of blood arose from the street as one of the Terran gunships took a direct hit from a missile, spiraling downward and smashing into one of the nearby buildings, sending bricks and mortal in a shower of debris across the street.
Another Terran ship took the shockwave and shrapnel of a missile's explosion, tumbling and fighting to maintain position in the atmosphere. "This is Alpha Three," the pilot screamed, "we're hit, need to make an emergency landing!"
"Pull up, pull up," came the voice of one of the Terran pilots, a sense of urgency behind his words. "We have one ship down, nine men inside; take out those 40mms; they're targeting civilians!" The additional unit of Terran ships leveled their mounted guns on the sources of ground fire, targeting any remaining terrorists and batteries. "One one, we need med-evac of Alpha Three and Five on the ground!"
"This is CentCom, Sayilgan," came the Admiral's voice over the open channel, "who are the hostiles? Do we have any ID?" All the while, civilians fled in mass numbers and the NPA mobilized its tactical units to respond on the ground.

Touching down several blocks away from the fighting, Koni, deactivating the grav-chute. He watched the building collapse with a heavy heart, the form of the frigate hanging low in the sky like some bird of prey. He tried to remember the assets they had in place. Most had been taken down by the MAC, but he had one ace up his sleeve.
The cell had planted its entire stock of plastic explosive, around 500lbs, packed into a kind of improvised fougasse in a manhole cover in the centre of the street. Detaching the detonator from his armoured sleeve, Koni flicked the button, decimating the entire street in a hail of overloaded hydrogen fuel cells, barrels of oil and bags of scrap metal.

; Master Sergeant Kopp pulled himself out from underneath the torn bench seat of the Cricket, peering forward into the mulched insides of it. In the crash, he had been thrown from the Cricket with six other men, and had received the worst injuries. Kopp felt his leg burn from a shattered femur, gritting his teeth at the touch of his fractured bone jutting against the encapsulating leg armor; rolling sideways, he felt a shattered rib press against his lungs, causing the man to groan out from the wreckage.
"Oooow -- Sonuvabitch. This is Kopp at the One Two crash site. Fenix platoon, call off!" He said, waiting on his back and growling in pain as he heard the forty-man contingent of the Cricket announce themselves; thirty-one of the men were lightly wounded, cuts scrapes and bleeding, while the rest, including Kopp, were suffering from broken bones.
"This is Striker One One we are on site at the conflict zone -- multiple enemy contacts, can't triangulate the fire from here. Let's get these guys down and pick us up some medical bills." The pilot remarked, adjusting the altitude of the Cricket as it began to descend towards a stretch of unoccupied and undamaged street on Hagan Avanue. As soon as the Cricket broke within 2 meters of the ground, the two bay doors of the airjet were pulled back along the fuselage. The first Internal Trooper jumped out from the airjet, falling nearly 5 feet before landing perfectly and hefting his AR-91 into his shoulder.
"Trapper platoon, let's make a fucking zone here -- secure the area and bring all casualties right here. Major General, this is the Lieutenant. We're feet-down at the attack site, place got turned over but it looks stable. We're ready for casevac."

The street shuddered as the explosives went up, splitting the road down the middle after it had been recently paved. But the gunfire had died down with the deployment of the Frigate's MAC Gun, and so the Tech Con workers were now hard at work trying to round up the wounded and cordon off the area, with the two Airfrigates circling the sector.
"This is PCF Beta, targets neutralized... Area Secure, proceed with Medivac."

; The ITDM Lieutenant stumbled along the street as another explosion rocked the city, and the soldier collapsed onto his knees before rolling over and shoring himself up alongside an overturned truck. As the squad of armed guards set up a loose halo around the Cricket, the Lieutenant painted a series of gaping holes in buildings and the streets caused by the attack with his electronic equipment on the foreguard of the AR-91.
"This is Fenix Actual, no sign on enemy contacts -- medivac underway; Acre Actual, Kopp, you there?!" He shouted in his headset, closing his eyes tightly from the stinging smoke billowing through the street as the Scatterran medics stabilized any wounded with first-responce treatment, and then quickly hauled them into the Cricket for immediate evacuation to the Wing City hospital.
"This is Kopp -- we're shot down barely half a klick south of your position, Acre is weapons capable, but we've got wounded. I'm all fucked up." The Master Sergeant returned over the comms, which caused the Lieutenant to curse under his breath.
"Alright, Alpa, you're with me. We're hoofing it to that crash shit; Bravo, Charlie, stay here and keep the casevac moving. Let's get going Alpha." The Lieutenant ordered before pointing down a street leading away from the conflict zone, a thin trail of black smoke rising from beneath the rooftops.

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored
Hey guys,
Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.
You're free to abandon them again if you wish!
Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks!
There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.
In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.
Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:
- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans
And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)
Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.
Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:
- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders
I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.
If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).

[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)
This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.
Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!
Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.
“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.
The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “
The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]
We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.
[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.

THE WEAPONS
Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.
The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.
The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.
It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.
Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.
The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.
Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.
There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.
Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.
The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)
Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.
If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. There are opportunities! They abound, in fact! (Yes, I was looking for an excuse to use the word "abound" in an internet forum post. I successfully created one.) Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?
Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.
I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.
For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.
Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.
And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
