While seemingly humble in size, this library serves as an excellent source of historical information. Though, primarily mythological and religious in nature, the temple library's resources are impressively vast. Warmth and color have been added to this room, setting it apart from the rest of the temple proper. Along one wall rests a fireplace and several cushioned arm chairs for reading and the granite floor has been overlain with a richly colored red oriental carpet. The remaining walls are lined by rows of bookshelves containing ancient texts and documents and at the room center rests a large mahogany table.

As she often did these days, Whisper had retired to the peaceful familiarity of the temple library. She had sent Reis away and didn't expect him back untill nightfall. Tristan had gone with him, leaving her to her solitude. Reis had been reluctant, but her insistence had won out in the end. She needed the time alone, to think and process over everything that had come to pass in these weeks past.

Furthermore, Reis always had a way of bringing up questions she didn't know how to answer. It wasn't his fault really and she momentarily felt a stab of guilt for thinking it. Reis had proven a valuable asset and he had given her far more than she had any right to ask for. It was wrong of her to fault him for his curiosity.

Sighing deeply she ran a hand through her hair as she mulled the matter over again and again. It lacked the same effect as writing her thoughts into her journal had served in times past. Storing information on paper to review later with a clear head was an option lost to her. For now she would have to rely upon memory and repetition of recollection.

However, as the time ticked away, Whisper began to nod off. Weeks of malnutrition and fitful nights of sleep were taking their toll on the hardy woman.

Messor paused in the vestibule he'd come to, looking about him curiously. Lambent eyes cast a silvery glow on the walls about him, the hybrid puzzling over the rather well kept interior to what had appeared to be a crumbling ruin. Still, the recently degraded wards had caused the interest in the first place, and he was here now.

Beyond the door, he saw a lit room. There weren't any other doors he could see from his place, but it didn't mean there wasn't more to find. Striding forward, Messor entered.

Blinking as his luminous eyes adjusted, instinct tugged at him. Left hand flexing out, he almost hissed as the metal claw over it scraped rather audibly. Gaze scanning, he had not yet seen anyone.

Whisper stirred back awake, weariness leaving her thoughts muddled and hazy. Had she heard something? Sensed someone? Perhaps it was just the lingering traces of a dream. Instinctively she reached out, her hand groping about for her staff that was never far from her side. As her fingers closed about it, the woman rose from her seat.

“Reis?” she called as she made her way to the door, pushing it open.

What she was met with in the vestibule was lost on Whisper, but Messor himself likely would recognize the frail woman that stood before him. Leaner and gaunter than in times past, Whisper had an unhealthy paleness to her skin and pristine white bandages were bound about her eyes, but for all intents and purposes it was the same young girl he had known in the years past.

Her breath caught as she picked up on his presence and she stepped back into the library. Messor no longer felt familiar to her, alien in nature from the individual she once knew and she did not recognize him. “What do you want,” Whisper inquired, her voice steady despite her nerves. Her knuckles turned white from her grip upon her staff, ready to defend herself if the intruder proved an enemy.

Messor froze, his very breath stilled by the sight of Whisper. All at ones the ghosts of everything he'd tried to forget flooded his mind, the Orsa, Nyx's death, and his own, failed suicide. He closed his eyes for a moment, reigning in the pain and rage that warred within. Several moments passed, and when his eyes opened the hybrid seemed to deflate some.

"An old friend, simply looking for peace from a road far, far too long." As Messor spoke, he flipped the hood of his cloak back, shaking his head to fling his hair free of his back. He stood in front of Whisper, and it occurred to him how alien he seemed. No longer demon or angel, but a hybrid of altogether different flavors.

He crossed his arms before him, his left hand curving upwards to let him tap the talons of his claw against his glamouring pendant. "Messor, literally from the grave."

Whisper was stunned into silence. She had not seen, or even heard word of Messor in... almost two years. “Messor?” she asked when she finally found her voice enough to speak.

She was torn between the urge to turn and flee the room or to go to him and see the truth for herself. His presence opened old wounds of her own, of a time long past, a time better forgotten. Perhaps it was her loneliness that finally won out. It had been so very long... and all of her old friends and allies, acquaintances and even familiar enemies were gone from her life, and yet here stood Messor.

Taking a step forward Whisper hesitantly outstretched a hand, as if to locate Messor by touch. Her gaze stared ahead blindly, scar tissue faintly visible as it peaked out from beneath the edges of the bandages wound about her eyes. “But how? Where? Why?” she stumbled over her questions unsure how to properly articulate the sudden string of confusing thoughts that filled her head.

Messor grimaced, understanding what was nearly impossible to put into words. "After...she died, it took a while for me to fall apart. So I tried to end myself. It...didn't work out as I'd hoped."

He looked down, a sneer curling his lips as he studied his own flesh. Loathing poured from him, and an undercurrent of anger tainted by some emotion even blacker. "Elf and dragon, but does the soul get a choice? Someone brought be back, and I'm not all glad they did."

He resisted the temptation to cast aside the glamour, reveal the beast to Whisper. She'd never approach him again, not while he was an abomination such as he hid beneath magic. Something within called for him to reveal himself and flee, but he crushed the impulse. Alone he was too volatile, too connected with his own emotions to care who got in his way, and how they were moved out of it.

Silver, shining eyes rose to look at Whisper, pleading in them. Unspoken call for help, though he despised himself for it.

Whisper's hand hesitated, scarcely an inch from Messor. She couldn't even begin to unravel the turmoil of emotions she was picking up off Messor. It left her head throbbing and her senses uncertain. Pulling her hand away Whisper turned away, if only to try and give herself some distance to clear her head. For a moment though, it might seem as if Whisper were turning from Messor.

“If it is peace you seek, you won't find it here - but you're welcome to stay as long as you wish,” Whisper finally said. After a moments deliberation she continued. “It's good to see you again, Messor.” Oddly enough, she found it to be true. Despite the circumstances of their meeting, Messor had given her clarity where there had been only uncertainty and fear. She could afford him this much.

Messor flinched as Whisper turned, but his head raised at her words. He nodded to himself, peace wasn't really in his reach anyways. Not until every last one involved in Nyx's death were dust, and not until those responsible for his resurrection learned that chaining a mad dog was a fool's choice.

"Thank you Whisper." The hybrid fell silent for a moment, watching the woman. The bandages suddenly sharpened in relief, and Messor repressed a hiss. His own latent abilities still weren't under control, and that was another thing to fear. Disabling his dragon's sight, he asked in as normal a tone he could manage as he fought himself.

"Your eyes...what happened?"

Whisper's hand reached up to brush against the bandages hesitantly. She had not even told Reis what had happened to her, or how she had come to be in the state she was when he had found her. But Messor had been open with her. Further more, Messor already knew what few others did. Whisper's mental state was a question of constant concern, but Messor knew the true depth behind it – the multiple entities housed within her psyche. “Pythia attempted to remove her vision, so as to no longer see the things that plague her mind,” Whisper explained. That the injuries had been self-inflicted were a point of shame for Whisper.

“It does not matter now. There are dormitories here, you're free to use them. But I have...” Whisper hesitated over what a suitable word to title Reis and Tristan. “I have companions that stay here as well. Two of them. I trust that won't be a problem?” she inquired. She could feel Messor's instability smothering her like a blanket, but amidst it all, she felt no intentions of harm or malice from him.

Messor nodded as he spoke. "It shall not. If I have to, I'll roost on a ceiling somewhere, but I would rather avoid that."

He began to run currents between his fingers, a task using very little power but a fair amount of concentration. It irked him, for it was becoming a habit to prevent other, more potentially dangerous things from happening. Until he mastered himself, he had to either avoid people altogether or force himself to concentrate. The deaths on his hands were heavy enough to bear already.

A thought occurred to him, and then its practical relation bit him in a moment of irony. He'd moved to tapping the talons of his claw against the tips of his right hand and arcing electricity between them, and slipped. He grunted his pain even as the tip of a finger hit the floor.

"Damn it."

Whisper raised her hand to her brow, massaging it as if she had a headache. One hurdle she had never overcome as an empath was the ability to separate herself from the people around her. “You feel... unwell. Is there anything I can do?” Whisper asked. Most of her knowledge lay in physical ailments and wounds, or matters of the psyche. Neither of which she suspected were what Messor was contending with.

Messor spoke through gritted teeth, holding his finger stump until he felt the telltale tingle of the dragon's regenerating ability begin. "Not unless you can kill pain. I'm already regrowing the fing-"

His mouth clapped shut, and he stooped quickly to grab the severed piece and pitch it quickly into the fire. Had he really just admitted to being that careless? Mentally, he kicked himself. But there was the other side of it...

"What would you say if I could...give you half your sight back?" The tingling had stopped from his finger, and it crept to touch the bottom of his eye on its own.

Whisper hesitated. Perhaps it was in the way he asked it, or his choice of words. But whatever the reason, Whisper was reflexively wary of his offer. But her wariness could not overcome the lure it held. She was a shattered remnant of her former self, incapable of even navigating beyond these temple walls on her own. As she had told Orochi, she could not help others when she could not even help herself anymore. Perhaps Messor could give her the answer to that.

Swallowing her uncertainties away, Whisper nodded briefly. “If it is within your power to do so.”

Messor walked towards her then, placing his right hand on her shoulder. "I can only give you one eye. Unwrap the side you wish to see from, and open it."

He took off the claw on his left hand and set it aside. Concentrating, his nails lengthened and curved, his hand creaking from small bone shifts. Placing the points around his right eye, he hissed slightly. The pain on his end was going to be immense.

"When you're ready."

Whisper monetarily tensed as a hand was placed upon her shoulder. The close proximity was unexpected and somewhat dizzying, but she eased her worries away, steadying herself. Carefully she unbound the bandages about her face, but as Messor would find, there was no real means of opening the eye. What lay beneath was a mangled mess of scar tissue – still fresh. The eye had not been cleanly removed, but rather from the looks of it, brutally gouged out.

Something in the pit of her stomach churned an worry and anticipation. Instinct told her that whatever was about to happen would not be pleasant, for either of them. At last she simply nodded her consent.

He finally howled in pain, the shock overriding every impulse in his brain, before his remaining eye rolled up in its socket and he fainted.

Meandering back into the temple to look for Whisper, Reis was quite disturbed to find he got not only no response from Whisper, but no reply either. Probably more disturbing was the small amounts of dried blood he found around her and another person in the Library.

After the initial thought that he'd been stupid to leave her alone here, he quickly set about making sure she was alive. The vibrant cast of the half-elf was unusually paled by concern at this, and he quickly attempted to manouveur the body away from the other person. Whoever it was, it was obviously the source of the disturbance here.

"Wounds? Does she have wounds." He muttered to himself, glancing over at the other figure again. He wasn't sure the other one was dead, and he didn't like to take his chances with someone that appeared to have fought Whisper to a standstill. Blind, but still so much more powerful than he was.

Messor stirred, conscious mind rising above tortured nightmares. He had been unconscious, and the hybrid struggled to remember what had happened. A heartbeat later it came flooding in a torrent, a buckshot memory snapping like lightning. The pain struck a moment later, and his hands flashed to his mauled eye socket as a horrific scream tore from his mouth.

His remaining eye snapped open, the lambent silver now a bloody crimson, pupil slitted as the dragon's half absorbed his pain to become dominant. Elven ears perked at the sounds of life in the room, and even as pain still overrode rational thought he spun to his feet and sprang away from the unknown man, a warning growl blooming from deep in his throat.

Of course, it had to be the enemy that woke up first, didn't it? Reis as quickly and as softly as he could, put Whisper down before drawing his dagger. Unlike the other, he didn't growl, just stood over Whisper in a stance that said clearly, 'If you want her, come through me.' For the sake of impression, he summoned the slow tingles down his arm to bathe his hand on fire.

It was a pity that was nearing the limit of his magic. Otherwise it might've been impressive. However, his bardic training came immensely useful here, as nothing about his face, stance or the way he held himself betrayed any of the fear that coursed through every limb.

The sensation of movement was what roused Whisper from her stupor. Groggy and dazed as Reis had shifted her body, it took her several moments to orient herself, to remember where she was. In the back of her mind was the dull sensation of pain, but with some distance between herself and Messor, it was more of a dull throb than the blinding fire of earlier.

Images flashed through her head, disjointed and incomprehensible as her human brain struggled to process the foreign information. It was downright nauseating and she shook her head as she dragged herself to her feet with the assistance of the table at her side.

“Reis don't, he didn't mean any harm,” Whisper interjected. Her eye itched and burned, further distracting her from the situation at hand. Was that normal? She fumbled about, reapplying the bandages, if only to cease the flood of information that she couldn't seem to process. There was something else though, she could feel it stirring beneath the surface, a fire in her veins, an anger that was unbecoming of her normally collected self.

A flicker of a smile cracked across her lips as her demeanor wavered beneath the flood of stimulation. “Messor... dear Messor. How I missed our fun...” she murmured.

Messor 's hands slid slowly from his face, fingernails lengthening into talons as they curled. Small arcs of lightning flashed within between the metallic claws, and his legs began to bunch in readiness to lunge...

His name struck his ears, and with it his rationality. Lashing furiously against the draconic instincts, Messor brought himself back to dominance, drawing on elven calm to still the storm of rage and pain. Claws reversed into normal hands, one moving to cover his now furiously tingling eye-socket. As this was happening, the color bleached from his eye, a silver glow dominating strongly now.

Muttering under his breath, he felt the dragon submit for now. "I hope like hell I didn't just go through that for nothing." Glancing more fully at the man over Whisper, he waved his free hand in a peaceful gesture. He raised his voice to be heard more easily. "I'm under control now, please put out the fires. I don't enjoy being charred, and the smell's horrific to boot."

Looking about, he hissed. "Name's Messor. I'd explain more, but is there something I can cover my eye with? I seem to be bleeding all over the floor."

Allowing himself a raised eyebrow to look at Whisper, obviously she knew this person well, released his hold on the magic flowing to his arm, causing the flames to flicker and die out. Resheathing his dagger, he kept the eyebrow raised in amusement.

"I've got bandages in the packs, they're back in the main cavern with the altar. Although if you're looking for something even quicker, there's always rags." Not quite rude, but as soon as the danger passed, and the body relaxed, Reis' expression and voice revealed a humoured reaction to the situation. Not quite allowing an errant laugh to escape, but letting the lips quirk at the situation. "If you'll give me a moment to fetch them, I'd love to hear what happened here." Unless it was another of Whisper's secrets. Well, she'd been more open recently, but he knew she still avoided some things.

“Messor is an old acquaintance of mine,” Whisper purred. “He will be staying with us for a while.”

That twitch of amusement remained as she tilted her head to one side, seemingly staring ahead vacantly. “Won't that be something?” she asked. "He always was an excellent dancer."

Her hand raised up, palm extended and her expression fell. “But something has changed...” she mused softly. Her words were more to herself than Messor or Reis and she turned away, head lowered in thought.

nodded his head to Reis, glancing at Whisper as she spoke. Something about her tone bothered him, though he kept this to himself. "Thank you, and be rest assured, you'll get the full story."

He stepped towards Whisper, then swayed on his feet. Finding himself a chair, he fell into it, slowing his breathing. A ghost of a smile tugged at his mouth as he realized the loss of his eye was throwing his balance off. Keeping an eye on Whisper, he waited for the makeshift bandage.

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored

Hey guys,

Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.

You're free to abandon them again if you wish!

Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Hello folks!

There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.

In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.

Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:

- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans

And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)

Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.

Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:

- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders

I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.

If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).

[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)

This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.

Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

News Announcements

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!

Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.

“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.

The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “

The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.

[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

Image

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.

PLAYERS

qbsuperstar03: Gary Mandolera - Skuldgrim

THE WEAPONS

Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.

The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.

The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.

It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.

Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.

The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.

Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.

There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.

Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Image

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.

The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Error: You have execeeded the maximum number of messages per minute

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)

Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.

If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

[OOC] yea retarded moment

i managed to make myself feel like a retard just now i just posted a 86 word post in the wrong area . . . this is ooc . . . i posted it in IC so now i feel like a retard but we all have our moments so ^^ yea

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. There are opportunities! They abound, in fact! (Yes, I was looking for an excuse to use the word "abound" in an internet forum post. I successfully created one.) Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?

Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.

I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.

Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.

I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.

For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.

Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.

And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
