OOC Notes
Liese remained rather quiet through the ordeal, nodding her head in affirmation at Linde's speech, more keen to watch than to act for the moment. Kampf, meanwhile, continued with his conversation. "But of course, to discount one would be to discredit the other." He placed his hands together in his lap idly, looking rather pleased with the affair, "The Redwing line has genetics that many would kill for... but, enough of that, you work charity, for the commoners? An odd choice, considering your family's prestige." His gaze resting on Linde once he'd finished.
OOC Notes
Her eyes narrowed for perhaps a split presence. Were he not the emperor, she would have struck him for belittling her work. "My Lord, are not the commoners your children too? Thus to serve a commoner, is to serve you." She said simply, keeping the acid out of her voice with the ease of long practice. Hopefully, she had not overstepped her bounds.
OOC Notes
Josef nodded, bowing his head slightly as she spoke, though it was her actions which warranted his own. Her spirit was most admirable, and her belief vindictive, quite respectable qualities, not to mention outspoken. She had much more tongue than her sister. "Forgive me, lady Sieglinde, I meant no disrespect." He lifted his gaze from her to a brief shot to Liese before returning it, "Your delicacy belies your heart." It simply wasn't good policy to offend guests, especially one who had no oath of service, unlike the one who sat directly across from him, clad in her jet tunic, who was beginning to eye the scene rather oddly.
OOC Notes
Linde sat back, and glanced to her sister, gauging the woman's reaction to the repartee. Hm. Not something that wouldn't get her possibly scolded in private later. "Thank you, my Lord, but I am afraid I owe you an apology. I should not speak so to you." She may have no oath of service, but she believed in Kampfism so firmly, had been reared in it so religiously, that she was surprised he had not struck her down for her tongue.
OOC Notes
Liese's reaction to the entire situation was rather nonchalant, at least physically. She didn't move from her rested position, legs crossed under the table with either hand resting on the arms of the chair. It was only her eyes which spoke, and they were still trying to ascertain the situation, even when they glanced to Linde in response.
Kampf, meanwhile, raised a palm rather gently, as if in a calming manner, and he did his best to explain, "One that I cannot accept. My tongue was the one out of line, as you are a guest in my house and I should not have spoken of your gracious nature so idly." He then smiled, hoping to defuse the situation, "Nor should your spirit. It's quite commendable."

"I. My Lord!" She protested, eyes wide, and glanced to her sister, before speaking slowly, not entirely certain. "Please, I cannot. It's improper." She murmured and shook her head Call the Emperor by his first name. She hesitated to even think the thought! Besides which, not even her sister, by all accounts, the Emperor's right hand, would speak his name.
OOC Notes
She passed the test! Even with flattery she maintained her dignity and manners, "I would argue the precise opposite, Sieglinde, though it's not to discredit you etiquette." He offered, raising his hand in an act of explanation, as if presenting some invisible object, "You have been raised from birth to believe, yes? I know Liese was, so I assume such extends to you." He figured something like this would happen, and he thought on his feet as to best counter her point, "You, both of you I should say, have known me your entire lives, I'm the one truly meeting you. If anyone at this table should be using titles, it's I." He pointed back to himself as he finished with that, emphasizing it, "Besides," he added, shifting his gaze between the two of them as he did, "What's the good in having a name if no one uses it besides fat priests and combat chaplains?"
OOC Notes
That caused her to giggle. Fat priests and combat chaplains indeed. "Well, our brother has been gaining some pounds since becoming a priest." She said with a smile. "And yes, we both have. The Redwings are a devout and pious family." she seemed proud of this. "If you truly wish my Lord, I may be able to bring myself to utter your name." Though she would still use titles more than his name. "If, of course, my sister believes it appropriate. I defer to her judgement in this unusual case."
There. Now Liese could hardly scold her later.

Liese looked to Kampf for a moment, who didn't seem to mind, judging from his expression, in the slightest, and shot a glance to Linde. She acted much the same as Kampf, though inside she held doubts. It was up to her baby sister just what to do with things. "Do as you wish, considering our lord has given his permission." Liese looked again to the Emperor, offering a slight bow of her head, before leaning over to her sister, whispering, "Not everyone gets this chance, Linde."
Kampf held his smile, matching the younger Redwing's as best he could, "It wouldn't hurt me," he paused, looking down at his small swath of the table, chuckling, "to finally have a pretty woman call me by name." He was being honest there, somewhat. It literally had been centuries since a woman had spoken to him in such a manner, not since that Coalition assassin on the train to Dinsmärk...
Oh Dinsmärk! How he longed to walk its streets again, to feel the kiss of Scatterran air upon his skin once more. His face changed with this, his eyes, for a moment, taking on a distant look, though he soon bore again his rather jovial expression. He was the only one still alive in the Hegemony who remembered those days, who remembered their home...

She didn't need Liese to tell her that, and she wrinkled her nose at her sister, before turning to face the Emperor once more. "Then I would be honored to call you by your name, Josef." Seh said, though she had paused just before saying it, not certain if she could deliver calmly. Well, she managed not to squeak, which said something. He was a kind man, and certainly full of compliments. If she didn't know better, she would think the emperor was flirting with her. But the emperor! No, he wouldn't flirt with her. She was a noble, yes, but she was not good enough to be of interest to the emperor.
He had a look on his face, of remembering, though it had been brief. "My L- Josef, what were you thinking of, just a second ago? I would love to hear?"

He pondered for a moment, returning his eyes to his bright guest, trying to figure our how he would describe it. It was something that few people, as far as he knew, really understood. He was the only one left who could remember walking on Scatterran soil, at least the only one who still had a body. "Of Belka, Sieglinde." The holy land, Belka, such a place that now existed only in the lore of the faith and in the imaginations of the faithful and the young. "Of home."
The more he spoke on the matter, the more distant he seemed to become, a tear beginning to well up in his eyes before he wiped it away, regaining his composure. "I'm terribly sorry. That was rather rude of me, Sieglinde, please pardon my nostalgia."

Belka. She smiled at that and dared, though only just, to placed a hand over his. "Please, I understand. I have not been away from my home for nearly as long, much less all of our Home. You recall out holy land, Josef, and all else only know it through stories. You have a right to miss it." she assured him, longing for her own home, to tell the truth. Oh she had begged and pleaded to be allowed here of course, but she hadn't expected the trip to be so long or lonely. It was relieving she had Liese close, so that home felt a little closer. The two sisters were hardly close, but at least they were family.
OOC Notes
Her hand gently found itself on his and his smile returned with this, looking to her with a pleasant expression, "Your heart knows no bounds, Sieglinde." At this, he placed his other hand over top of hers, silently thanking her for her empathy. The act lingered for a moment before it was broken by the attendants returning, bearing several dishes. Among them a roasted ham - actual ham, not the byproduct from the processing plants - a platter of Zweibelkuchen, some steamed vegetables accompanied the ever present staple Spaetzle.
Kampf, for all of his Imperial trappings and nobility, couldn't escape the fact that he liked the working man's dish.
Gesturing towards his attendants, he spoke more to his guest than his lieutenant as he announced, "Simply state what you wish, they'll be happy to get it to you." He would wait though, no need for him to be hasty. There were more interesting things at the table, anyway.

Linde smiled to the attendants graciously, sensing she was being allowed to go first. "The ham, the vegetables, and the zweibelkuchan, please." She said and spoke again. "Though not in large portions. I'm afraid my appetite is not as hearty as a soldiers." She sat back as they provided her with the food as asked, in smaller potions. They even spaced it just so, and the plate seemed full. How lovely! His attendants were clearly well trained.
OOC Notes
Liese simply ordered a slice of ham, for the moment, being as how she preferred to take things in steps rather than all at once. It was a pleasure being able to savor any such meal, especially after eating some of the rations she was issued in the line of duty. By the Emperor, some of it was just...
Kampf chose a rather basic selection of the ham, spaetzle and vegetables, waiting once everything had been set down and for the others to begin before he took a bite. Good, as always, the recipes were old, yes, but they were still quite good. He was distracted from his food, however, by his company and, with a pat of his mouth with his napkin, he decided to speak again, "I know this might seem an odd question, but my thoughts of Scatter piqued my curiosity... are you familiar with any classical literature?" Within the Hegemony, the term 'classical' generally referred to the time before the Exodus, before what they considered to be the dark ages and the rebirth of the Belko-Azrik people.

Kampf leaned over, his head tilting slightly in curiosity, finding it rather convenient that she also held such a love for classical material. Given, such a thing probably resounded with him more than anyone else, and it contributed largely to his response, "I would concur with you. I often have a good deal of time to spend mulling over works that, regrettably, I never ventured to read while I was on Scatter. Like all of our society, is is the posterity of that which came before. But, I must ask," He grinned at this, rather excited, "What is your favorite, Sieglinde? It seems that your parents knew of mine..."
OOC Notes
Kampf nodded, it had been some time since he had read it, though he did recall the story. He always did prefer things written before the exodus, less emphasis on him, more thing about it seeming... Scatterran. "They were rather risque, weren't they? I did enjoy it when I picked it up, I found it a refreshing change from all the conflict and struggle so present in our literary heritage." He mused further, "While that's an excellent backdrop, and theme, for many a story, there are many issues and themes than can be explored, at the least elsewhere, if not exclusively with a romantic tone." He really had too much time on his hands, but he was happy to have someone he could discuss such things with, who wasn't too preoccupied with believing he was a God.
It was like speaking to Wing. A Scatterran Wing.
He waved down an attendant, whispering something to him before he soon stepped off, Kampf apologizing for the interruption as he finished, eager to continue, "Pardon me, but, it makes me wonder, what era do you take a liking to? I know that I have a thing for the Old Empire, before my father's time..."

“Well, my tastes don't range quite so far back!” She admitted, then gave him a wink. “They go backa bit farther. It's harder to find books from that far back though, so I also like books from around your father's time, but before his rise.” She shrugged. “You can almost sense the beginning in them. Almost feel that which spurred out ancestors on.” she closed her eyes, remembering scenes and stories from books.
“Ah. They're all so amazing. Hard to find a good variety though, to my sorrow.” Getting older books wasn't exactly easy as going to a book store. Her family despaired enough that her reading would leave her needed corrective eye surgery.
“Of course, the family has a collection, but I've already read most of that.” He had been alive so long, he was probably more than familiar with all the older books.

"It truly speaks to one's soul. Whatever disagreements I had with my father, it's through such works that I've come to understand him a bit better, perhaps even think I know him." He paused, the mention of his father, even by himself, had surprised him. He usually didn't like to speak of him, but this time... well, it was understandable in the context. Especially since they were discussing classical Belka after all.
He picked some more at his food, interested instead with his company, "Sieghilde, remind me, once we're finished, I rarely get the chance to discuss such matters with people that it's reminded me... If it wouldn't interrupt your plans, I'd be delighted to show you my library here."

Have? Have? She had assumed borrow at absolute best, really she had. "Emperor Josef, please. You've honored me so much today already. I could not possibly accept this gift. I am sorry, but I must refuse." She would stay firm on this. Oh how she wanted it, but as he had said, she well knew the value of that book. No, it was not something she could accept in the least.
Though it was hard to refuse her God, she knew she had to.

"Emperor, you have lavished attention and honor on me so far. I am nobility yes, perhaps from one of the purest lines in existence, but I cannot allow even you to continue like this, my Lord Josef. Please forgive me but, it isn't proper in the least, and the only thing I have is propriety." Her voice was tinged with the slightest taste of bitterness. The second born daughter, youngest girl, well aware that as soon as her parents deemed a suitor acceptable she would be married off, Propriety and her reputation was all she really had. All were equal in the empire in theory and in religion, but she well knew her place as a noble lady.
"I am sorry sir, but I believe it may be best if i use today to get settled into my rooms here, rather than go to your library. Please, forgive me." She looked down to her plate, clearly not happy to refuse, but refusing to accept.

Linde just knew she has done something wrong, but wasn't certain what it was. Perhaps her family was right and she hadn't been ready for a pilgrimage just yet. She rose however, demurely following her sister, no small confusion evident in her eyes, though her face remained calm and still as ever. Matters to attend to. Matters they hadn't had to attend to before she had decided going on the library trip was a poor idea. That was code for trouble. She knew Liese hardly approved of her, but still. She had behaved perfectly, she was certain.
OOC Notes
Linde Redwing was in her set of rooms in front of her vanity, brushign out her hair. Normally worn up, especially in public, she took it down daily to carefully brush her hair out. It was much longer than the severe hair style currently favored made it look. She scowled at the mirror, knowing perfectly well who was to blame for the severe militaristic hairstyle so popular.
"I cannot wait until someone sets something new! Whoever decided Liese's military style was good for the social scene is a fool." She murmured under her breath, then sighed. She was staying at the Redwing house on the planet of course, little used as it apparently was. Liese was lucky to be at the emperor's right hand of course, but it meant that the woman had a room in residence. After that debacle of a dinner, Linde would not stay in residence with the Emperor. She'd only make a fool of herself again.

OOC Notes
No one had been announced, the servants, not that Liese had many, Linde had been forced to hire a few just to get the basics done, had not let her know, and as a result, Linde thought it must be one of the servant at her door. Hardly suspecting Kampf was there, she continued to brush her hair as she called out. "Come in!"
She kept her eyes on her vanity mirror, her strokes slow and even, not even paying attention to who was in the doorway. "Is there something I'm needed for?" She asked, not expecting so. "Or did the first of the party invitations finally start to arrive." She would have a few days reprieve of course, as a polite and silent remark to her status before she was besieged with invitations. After all, she would only be here a handful of weeks.

OOC Notes
Kampf took the invitation as it arose, walking as quietly as his hobnailed boots would allow, and as he swung the door opened he was rather surprised. As beautiful as she was at dinner, she seemed more radiant now, perhaps that she didn't care who saw her. He sighed softly as he came to a stand-still, looking about the room for only a moment before he returned his eyes to her. He wanted to smile, but that would ruin what it was he had to say. "There is one thing..." He spoke, even lessened his bass voice proving to be rather unique, "... I believe I owe you an apology."
It was odd. He hadn't apologized to anyone in... at least five centuries. How strange this felt!

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored
Hey guys,
Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.
You're free to abandon them again if you wish!
Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks!
There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.
In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.
Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:
- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans
And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)
Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.
Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:
- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders
I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.
If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).

[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)
This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.
Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!
Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.
“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.
The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “
The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]
We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.
[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.

THE WEAPONS
Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.
The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.
The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.
It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.
Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.
The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.
Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.
There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.
Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.
The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)
Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.
If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. There are opportunities! They abound, in fact! (Yes, I was looking for an excuse to use the word "abound" in an internet forum post. I successfully created one.) Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?
Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.
I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.
For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.
Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.
And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
