OOC Notes
"We have to convince the Hegemony not to...not to just kill us all. Them all." She took a deep breath. "The Cluster is where it's going to be situated, Stahl." She said and looked to him. "Arming them. It's a horrible idea. Have they lost their subtlety? Don't they realize how important it is to not announce these things." She took a deep breath again and tugged her hair hard. "How do we serve both our peoples?"
OOC Notes
Steel understood her, he should, even if he bore a Belkan uniform he was still Erutin underneath it. He approached her, placing a hand on her shoulder as he thought on just what to say, what to do. They were alone here -- well, he was, she had Erich -- and they were probably the only ones here who would opt for peace between their two worlds. The Hegemony would demand war for this, it was a direct insult... "I... don't know... How do you think Erich will take it?"
He didn't want to say anything about graduation, he feared to. He feared that he might soon be pointing his rifle towards his own blood.

He shrugged, his worry overriding whatever of a chuckle her little escapades with Erich might've produced. Odd, such usually brought him a good deal of joy. His mention in the paper was something of a worry, now that people back home, especially his belligerent uncle, might know about his sister's romantic efforts, especially since he would soon be gone, off to fight whoever the Emperor deemed. He sighed, his sister was becoming more like himself, and such warmed his heart, perhaps Erich was doing some good after all.
"It couldn't hurt. You'd probably do a lot more than uncle has... with mere actions. Mother spoke with them, after all."

OOC Notes
"But how? I mean, I..." She took a deep breath and composed herself. "I'm beign silly aren't I? I'm Obermann Alke Nimitz, and Second Light Thistle of House Erutin. I can do this with ease, don't you think?" She bit her bottom lip and looked to him, worried. "But can you be there? If possible?"
OOC Notes
Steel shook his head, trying his hardest to reassure his sister, perhaps trying to reassure himself as well, fear having gripped his heart that his lord, the Emperor, might think him a traitor-wait, his lord? Had he come to regard them as his true home, instead of the Erutin empire?... He was always there, more so than his mother, or, Emperor knows, his father, and He gave him a since of... belonging. Something which he never had at home. "You are second light, Crown princess. I'm sure that the Hegemony would be willing to treat with you, especially in such regalia." Her question regarding his presence caused him some pause, blinking as he looked to her, "... that would depend. When would you beg an audience?"
OOC Notes
"Beg. Mother is going to kill me, isn't she?" She took a deep breath. "I don't know. It has to be soon. Especially soon. This is a disaster of the highest order." She said and sighed. "When should I?"
OOC Notes
"I know. I'll tell him. Tonight." She said and took a breath. "Even if I have to go to the Reichspost. But right now, you and I need to get in our stupid regalia. If we move fast, we may get there, before the message does." She nodded firmly and summoned Rose to bring them their regalia. It's not like they would have it here, and they, no being traveler's, weren't issued the odd little items in a stitch tech that they had.
OOC Notes
Rose glanced between the two, and pulled from her goggles Thistle's regalia. The young woman looked her her brother, meeting his eyes for a few second as she decided. "Alright. You're right. I think it'll set the right tone, too. Now turn around, I gotta change." Living as a Belkan had put in her one thing no Erutin had in the slightest. A sense of modesty about her body. As soon as he was turned, she changed rapidly, getting Rose to help her with the trickier bits. "Are we certain Mother still has fashion sense?" She murmured and smiled. "Well it's simple, at least." She said "I hope that the Emperor appreciates it." She said as she adjusted her red sash, denoting her as royalty. He hair styled itself up and she accepted accessories from Rose, who was rather used to being a walking closet. "There. Done. Acceptable?" She asked, tiara, a simple metal band around her head, crossing mid forehead, simple drop earrings, and a lovely necklace finishing this off. "One of us has to look Erutin, I suppose. I'd almost rather be in uniform."
OOC Notes
Steel nodded in response, sighing as he clasped his hands behind his back, confirming his sister's judgement. "I can think of no better path. No need to create more of a fuss than needed." He looked both to Thistle and Rose, whom he nodded to, as if to say, Well, let's get on with it then.
OOC Notes
"A hope, Archduchess Redwing. Though I must ask your pardon for our unorthodox method." she said simply. "We've received distressing news, that we can only pray will not effect the relationship between our two great nations. Especially as my twin and I have come to consider the Hegemony a second home."
Rose, seeing the lack of firing, offering both women a slight bow and disappeared just as quietly as she arrived. She was a call away should something happen, but all seemed peaceful enough.
Thistle could only hope that this gambit was successful. She wouldn't lose the man she loved, or the job she adored because of a bunch of useless prejudices.

OOC Notes
Escorted? this could be tricky. "I believe that any who could see the Hegemony as I have would regard it warmly." she said and gave Redwing a smile. "Of course, I understand the need for an escort. However, I feel I should tell you that weaponry if not allowed in our sickbays, and that we all must undergo a security process before we would be allowed close." She fully expected it to be an armed escort, after all.
OOC Notes
Liese nodded, understanding the woman's reasons as well as any in the know. They had her under observation for some time now, ever since their mother decided to pay them a little visit. The lack of weaponry was an interesting point, it would make things rather intriguing. Perhaps a job for the Occult division. "That is of little issue, Thistle-if I may? Save only that our people are with you. We cannot risk losing you, or your brother." She smiled to Thistle, "For Erich's sake, alone, you should have an escort. Imagine his devastation should you not return?"
OOC Notes
Thistle Erutin was still in her regalia, though Rose had snatched back the tiara, as she knocked on Erich's door, feeling rather out of place. Rose had dropped her off here, so it wasn't like the world had seen her, but she still wore the sash and dressed, her hair still up as she had neede to impress Redwing somehow. "Please be home." She murmured in her own tongue, not rocking on her feet, only because of the heels she wore. She'd fall over.
OOC Notes
Erich had been neglecting his supper, studying on some university courses he was taking, barely able to afford such on his Reichspost salary and wound stipend, allowing the rice, or what seemed to be rice, to begin to stick to the boiling pot on the stove behind him. Something which Erich, as he flipped a page, recalled, assisted in such by their smell, which had managed to slowly waft across the small space in a rather sluggish manner. He jumped up, practically not having to move from his apartment's island to tend to the stove behind him, taking it off of the burner when there was a knock on his door. He sighed, somewhat frustrated, giving the rice and odd stir or two before hopping too, still clad in the remnants of his uniform, his tunic laying on the back of the stool he had been sitting on, his light blue shirt matching the navy trousers. "Coming." He tried to rush to the door as quickly as he could, hobbling oddly without his cane, which lay propped against the island by his stool, and with his momentum built up somewhat, he braked himself with an extended hand, his arm forcing him to a stop.
With an odd glance and tapping of a few buttons by the side of it, the door slid open, revealing something which he really wasn't expecting. It was Alke, or it looked exactly like her, but she was... well. She was dressed rather well. Incredibly well, one might say. Looking her over for a moment, he finally met her eyes, not knowing what to say other than, "Alke?"

Erich smiled in return, though he looked somewhat worried, and responded rather apologetically, "Of course! I'm just... I'm in no shape for you to look so..." He paused, unsure of how to put things as he stepped out of her way, "... stunning. Make yourself at home -- I know it isn't much." He admitted the last rather sheepishly, knowing that the small apartment probably wasn't what she was used to, even when compared to her barracks. He looked to her again, embarrassed that he was so disheveled in comparison to her, "So... this is your official attire?"
OOC Notes
"This week. Last week it was sheer all over. My mother has this thing for gauze-y fabric." she said and shrugged. "The sash and tiara are the important parts, to be honest. Erutin aren't big on clothes." she stepped in and smiled at the sight, closing the door behind her. "You look stunning yourself." She touched her cheek to his and smiled. "You always do." She loved it too. He was so handsome. It was amazing. She took a seat at the table and sighed. “Come sit down, my love. This isn't easy. And you'll want to be sitting.” She wanted to be sitting, to be honest.
How to say it. The woman waited for him to sit. “Love, you know I'm not Belkan, that I'm Erutin, and a princess. I'm here.. I'm in the Hegemony because my brother is training with the Belkan LW. I wouldn't be otherwise. I would be exploring our empire, or something similar. So that's a good thing, but...oh shoot, I really ought to just.” Her voice turned serious, sober, and it was clear she meant with all her heart what she was about to say.
“Erich, I'm not human.”

"Regardless, you do it wonders, and thank you... sometimes I might not feel it." He embraced her for a moment, rubbing his cheek on hers, as was the Erutin custom, something he'd picked up on in his time spent with her. At her behest, he came to the table, sitting beside her with a worried look on his face as she spoke, not knowing just what it was that wouldn't be easy, and in the back of his mind there was the faint fear that she might be leaving. However, her explanation soon came, and he slowly garnered a better understanding of the situation, for he knew, both from initial reports and general observation, that she was no Scatterran. Though, her final statement was something of a poor joke, one that Erich would've shaken his head at and laughed were it not for her severe expression. His face took on a rather puzzled quality, still sitting close to her, and he reached for her hand, taking it up to be illuminated by the dim light above his island.
"If you're not human, Alke, then what are you?" He examined the hand for a moment, his expression curious and lacking hostility, and grasping her fingers with his, he ran a thumb over her knuckles, back and forth. It was a human hand in his own, of that he was rather sure.

Alke kissed him gently and stood, pushing the chair back. Without a care, she unzipped the dress and let I fall, having apparently not heard of either modesty or of undergarments. Then she began to change. This was not the smooth change of an older Erutin, but the still clumsy change of an adolescent, still learning the ropes. Where once was a Scatteran Alke, was no...a two foot long panther cub, with a tufted tail. Her rirituno were around the tail, three small rings. She sat and looked up at him, raising a paw beseechingly. Please don't panic, please don't panic.
The black kitten was obviously still a kitten, with fluffy fur, rather than a sleek adult coat, and paws too big for her body.

OOC Notes
Erich let her go slowly after the kiss, and was rather confused for a moment as she stripped down, torn between either averting his eyes or to continue looking, as she likely intended for him to do. It was just, odd, but, that would pale in comparison to what was coming. She began to shift shape, changing into some sort of cat, almost a predatory animal, save one that seemed a bit young, that hadn't quite grown into its prime. His expression had gone from embarrassment to utter confusion in mere moments, not quite sure how to take things. Once it had finished, it... Alke, raised up a paw, as if to ask him something. He sighed for a moment, pondering just what it was, and what kind of power it possessed, and he raised himself from his seat, if only to guide himself to the ground with his arms, so that he rested on his knees. He reached out with his right hand, his fingers outstretched, to meet her paw, not sure how to react in such a scenario. He began to stammer,
"I... I... this is... this is an Erutin?"
"I... I... this is... this is an Erutin?"
OOC Notes
Alke purred and belly crawled closer, then nodded and turned over, hopping for belly pets. Go ahead, he knew he wanted to, and she would enjoy it greatly. This was an Erutin. A shape shifter, with a natural human form. She would never stop growing, and was clearly not an adult yet. She wouldn't hold this form for long, since she doubted Erich was comfortabel with it, but he needed to know. She was no human, she had been telling the truth...and so many other things.
OOC Notes
She purred and pulled back, brushing her lips against his. "I can at least reassure you a little bit. Kampf and Mother were...friends of sorts. He must have approved of erutins at least a little, as they got along well. And the Archducchess is supportive of our relationship." she smiled to him. "She wanted to know how you were doing, actually. How we were doing." She gave Erich a shy smile. "So they both approve, so...so it's okay for us to be together. I'm practically not an alien, not if Kampf approves." She tried and her smile steadied some, no longer so shy.
"I love you. So much. I can't wait so show you my lands, as I suspect...I don't think Mother an dUncle will rule much longer. Uncle was a fool."
"I love you. So much. I can't wait so show you my lands, as I suspect...I don't think Mother an dUncle will rule much longer. Uncle was a fool."
OOC Notes
He was stunned again for a moment, not quite sure how to take the honorable mention of sorts. "The... the Archduchess? That's... quite some honor." He looked to her, a smile forming on his face again in the wake of her light kiss, still holding her rather close, and he thought on her closing remarks. He was excited, in a way, to see her domain, being as how she'd probably seen more than enough of his, but what really caught his attention was the mention of her mother, which begged a question from him. "If your mother wont rule... what does that make you?"
OOC Notes
Erich nodded, quite reassured to hear that he wouldn't be separated from her because of whatever position she might come to inhabit. Though, her explanation was rather... odd, one that took him a few moments pondering before he truly grasped it, though he still felt some need to confirm what it was he thought. Drawing back, he looked to her, both curious concerning the topic at hand, but still sheepish to bring it up to her, even if they had confessed their feelings, "So, you mean, once we... then, we're together? Until the end?"
OOC Notes
She blushed and nodded at that. "Um, yeah. That's right. Once we...um, join, then we're together. No going back." She looked uncomfortable with the subject. "You'd be like my father, prince consort of the empire and King of Dev Eru. Not that he does much Kinging. It's like being a planet governor, but with a fancier title, to be honest."
OOC Notes
"You deserve the multiverse." She told him and held his hand, happily. "I'm just glad you aren't going to leave me. I was silly to think so." she said firmly and relaxed immensely. "That's all the reallly big stuff, I promise. There's loads more. And...and it possible that I might be able to have your leg...if you want I mean. They can't heal it, but if medically possible, they might be able to aug it, if you want. I don't care either way. Limp or no limp, you're perfect."

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored
Hey guys,
Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.
You're free to abandon them again if you wish!
Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks!
There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.
In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.
Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:
- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans
And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)
Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.
Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:
- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders
I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.
If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).

[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)
This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.
Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!
Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.
“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.
The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “
The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]
We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.
[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.

THE WEAPONS
Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.
The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.
The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.
It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.
Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.
The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.
Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.
There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.
Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.
The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)
Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!
Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.
If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread
Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. There are opportunities! They abound, in fact! (Yes, I was looking for an excuse to use the word "abound" in an internet forum post. I successfully created one.) Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?
Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.
I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.
I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.
For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.
Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.
And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.
