Hey, listen! Remæus needs your help! Spare just a moment of your time and vote for LocalSense™. You can read a longer explanation in the Main Lobby topic!

Introduction

The Multiverse is, in essence, a writing game in which all players have equal input into the story.

There are no statistics or win conditions, and instead, the constant overarching goal for each player is to explore the extensive possibilities that occur when there are no limitations on the scope of reality.

Rules

  1. Regarding writing style:
    • The Multiverse is to be written in past-tense third person.
    • Post length should follow the current activity of your current location:
      • Don't write massive essay-length posts when the current activity is in single-paragraph posts. Conversely, don't interrupt essay-length interaction arcs with something much shorter.
      • Do help increase the post length if you feel it is too short; but do it gradually.
Why? In a real-time setting (for example, the chat), the players get more chances to interact with one another if you write between 2 and 5 sentences per post, and split out your longer posts into individual chunks so people can read them much sooner. On a more static medium (like the Activity Wall), longer posts work well because people only check for new posts a couple times per day, or even less--and a sudden short post might completely ruin the post they've been working on for hours, or more.

    • Every post should be at minimum, a complete grammatical thought with both a subject and verb.
    • Proper writing technique is to be observed; correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation is expected.
  2. Regarding Etiquette:
    • Avoid using public OOC wherever possible. Any metagaming that is necessary should be directed to the specific player using /msg <username> (a chat-only command), the Multiverse's OOC forum, or via Private Message. Metagaming destroys immersion and is often considered cheating!
    • Do not force the outcome of your character's actions. You cannot, without express permission, force the outcome of your writing on another character. The Multiverse operates entirely on cooperation, so you should write all actions as your character performs them, but let the affected characters write the results of those actions as it pertains to them.
  3. Regarding chat:
    • Use the different chat modes ("Saying" vs. "Doing" (i.e., /me <action>) to maintain a consistent, readible format.
      1. Try to make your "Do" message make sense -- start them with your character's name, and make it a complete sentence.
      2. Don't "Say" what your character is doing. It looks silly, and it reads worse!
      3. If you're using multiple characters at once, open multiple clients or switch between them when you post.

    • Images are not permitted in any IC rooms, even if you're talking OOC. They are, however, permitted elsewhere on the activity tab and on the Multiverse's OOC forum.

Gambit's Bar - watering hole and premier destination for all sorts of entertainment, drunken revelry, and roughhousing. Located on a nexus point of countless overlapping realms, the building itself is outside of any individual world, though doors to it can be found all across the Multiverse. The magical nature of the bar has been reinforced by technology and investment, leaving its structure about as difficult to break as the core of a dwarf star. Though fights and explosions may tear away the trim of wood, glass and wallpaper enough to reveal the ominous black material beneath, in the history of the bar it has never truly been destroyed, though representations of it in other worlds have fallen, Gambit's remains. Aiding its staff is the fact that, for those which the bar has accepted, the drink or in some cases weapon that they need is always to be found in the first place they look. Nobody has ever been able to explain why, but it's universally acknowledged as bloody useful.

It is an enormous space with impossibly high ceilings, and floor to ceiling windows between twenty-foot tall stacks containing the books. There are tables and chairs in nooks beneath windows and in a few open spaces. The reference desk is crammed between stacks. This is the central communications room of the highest echelons of the Terran National Government, complete with satellite access, direct lines to all Ministerial heads and the Grand General of the Terran Armed Forces at Fort Veritas. Within seconds, contact can be established from here to outlying planetary systems, bases across Terra, orbital vessels, and government offices anywhere.

The Borealis Garden Thumbnail

0 postsThe Borealis Garden

The Borealis Gardens are filled with exotic plants which seem to move when one is not looking directly at the foliage. They are brilliantly colored and a sweet scent touches the air, almost intoxicating for those who are not Promethean. They dim the senses in order to help protect the precious manor which lies beyond the elaborate and luxurious garden. A cobble stone pathway leads toward the home while something slithers through the grass unseen. It leaves most with an unsettling feeling in their stomach and perhaps a twinge of fear.

The Borealis Manor Thumbnail

0 postsThe Borealis Manor

Against the horizon is the Borealis Manor which stands three stories high with vines crawling up the natural stone walls. A balcony over looks the gardens and juts out from the western side of the manor on the second floor. Pillars stand to either side of the entrance to the manor and a large black wooden door awaits those that would knock or ring the doorbell.

The Foyer Thumbnail

0 postsThe Foyer

Dark wood panels decorate the walls which contrast starkly against the marble floor as well as the white statues. Many famous paintings hang from the walls of the foyer with their own lighting. The room gives off the air of an art exhibit rather than the entrance into a home. A luxurious pair of stairs cascade down on the western side of the room which leads to the upper floors of the Borealis Manor.

The Borealis Manor (Second Floor) Thumbnail

0 postsThe Borealis Manor (Second Floor)

The second floor of the manor is just as luxurious as the rest of the Borealis home. A hallway runs perpendicular to the stairs, running east and west. The balcony is a breath taking and peaceful place of solace. Lounging furniture is littered all around the stone veranda. It over looks the gardens and even allows a good view of the neighboring house; a mansion of another Wing City's prestigious families. Plants are scattered around as well while vines still crawl up the outside walls of the third floor. A small pool glitters happily on the balcony and adds the sound of ambient water splashing about.

The Living Room Thumbnail

The main living room of the Borealis Manor is enormous and encompasses most of the first floor. Large and expensive rugs lay on the floor beneath cozy, designer, couches and arm chairs. A hearth is the center piece of the living room built into the northern portion of the room. It is made from stone and above it shows the Borealis Family tree in an artistic fashion. Book cases are found here and there as well as an entertainment center cleverly hidden inside an armoire.

A red banner with the Canum Venaticorum's Family Crests runs along the top of the table beneath shining silver dinnerware and candelabra. A chandelier with glittering gems hangs from the ceiling completing the extravagant and formal dining area. A smell wafting into the room from the south makes the mouth water around the hours when meals are prepared.

And endless night seems to have fallen upon the place; perhaps a long term effect of the eternal fog it is hidden in.

These mountain peaks create a dominating and nearly impenetrable border that extends well into the northern cold plains.

Mountainside Temple Thumbnail

2 postsMountainside Temple

Roughly hewn from the earth of the mountain-side itself, the temple entrance is little more than two rugged pillars of stone standing sentinel at either side of a small cave opening, just large enough for two people abreast to fit through without stooping. Runic wards have been placed over the entryway to allow passage only to those with benevolent intentions, however at the moment they seem to be in disrepair and there seems to have been a recent rock slide in the area.

Dimly Lit Stairwell Thumbnail

0 postsDimly Lit Stairwell

This stairway is roughly hewn from the stone of the mountain itself. Descending into the darkness, the acoustics are such that even the smallest sounds of passage are loudly echoed down into the temple proper.

The Altar Room Thumbnail

0 postsThe Altar Room

The temple proper stands in direct juxtaposition to the humble facade of the temple entrance. The walls are lined with black marble columns and intricately carved scrollwork while the floors are tiled in black granite with varying runic symbols etched in gold leaf. Lining the walls between the columns stand tall statues of gods and goddesses long forgotten and at the base of each statue resides a small altar. For lighting extravagantly adorned candelabras ring the room. Further passageways open out from either wall of the room, though the east tunnel is collapsed and impassable.

Portal Room Thumbnail

0 postsPortal Room

The portal room is a large circular chamber with half a dozen stone archways positioned at intervals along the wall. Resting atop a pedestal at the center of the room is the crystal orb used to activate the portals. However, a deep crack runs through the crystal and several of the archways have been destroyed beyond repair.

Forge Thumbnail

0 postsForge

Outside of the temple proper is a small but functioning forge room. The east side of the room opens out from the mountainside, offering a view of the icy peaks outside, though due to the sheer cliff face there appears to be no means of entering or exiting the temple that way other than by air. However, the lengthy western tunnel has been collapsed, preventing passage between the temple and the forge.

While seemingly humble in size, this library serves as an excellent source of historical information. Though, primarily mythological and religious in nature, the temple library's resources are impressively vast. Warmth and color have been added to this room, setting it apart from the rest of the temple proper. Along one wall rests a fireplace and several cushioned arm chairs for reading and the granite floor has been overlain with a richly colored red oriental carpet. The remaining walls are lined by rows of bookshelves containing ancient texts and documents and at the room center rests a large mahogany table.

Welcome to Flora- the run-down city just beyond the outskirts of Wing City. The paved, cracked streets look scummy and old, much like the buildings, and there is a distinct smell about the air. Back alleys and hidden paths from the streets are notorious, and often-times safer than the roads themselves. Keep a weary eye, because crime and mischief and flat-out danger run amok. There are few locations to go here where you'll be safe or even comfortable, but don't worry- once you're in Flora, you shouldn't plan on leaving anytime soon- despite the environment.

Small and cramped- like most any apartment in a decrepit brick building and built above a diner. It has a total of three rooms; a cramped bathroom with an even more cramped shower, a bedroom just large enough to hold a queen size size bed wedged against the wall and a dresser opposite it- no closet, and a studio room complete with a sofa as old as time and a TV to boot, a messy kitchen, and a two-person dining table stacked to the limit with papers, packets, magazines and books. The owner of the diner has been known to, on rare occasion, allow customers to stay here in times of extenuating circumstances.

You have officially entered the castle. The ceilings are high, and grand mahogany doors grace every wall, leading to other presumable grand rooms. Gargoyles silently scream down on all who enter, daring them to vandalize the place, and a wide spiraling stair case goes both up and down. Large tapestries inlaid with gold hang from the farthest walls, and large vases housing dead roses sit in each corner.

Leading off to the south from Castle Vankoryth's Entrance Hall via a heavy, wooden double door, is the Room of Reason. Inside the room cuts away from the more polygonal layout of the rest of the castle to become almost perfectly circular. The walls are lined with various tapestries and the only window, little more than an arrow-slit, is often covered by a miniature pair of crimson 'curtains'. The centre and main attraction of the room comes in the form of the large, round table carved from stone that sits in the middle. Carved into the granite face of the mountain are idols from through the ages. The two largest portraits, one man and one woman, flank Mount Playmore. With wise eyes, they watch over the Valhalla Valley. Between them are many, if not hundreds, more portraits. Some may recognize the smirk of Remy LeBeau, whose bust is carved two faces to the left of Tersan Rogut's stony glare. Up over there, to the right of that carving of some old wizard, many will notice Skuld's portrait lurking among the rocky surface. Lady Une herself is represented right there, near the middle of it all, two faces up and one over from Chaos himself. Evana Daybreaker's head marks the point at which the sun rises over the mountain. Most of the faces appear to hold no name, their stories dwindled away with the passing of time. Strangely enough among the carvings are pictures of trees and clams, and if you stand at a certain angle while viewing the carvings it would appear that the woman carved next to the infamous Nicci has the ears of a cat.

Out the viewports you can spy two [i]Imam[/i] class Dreadnoughts of the Home Guard, their enormous bronzed hulls glistening in the light of the stars. Below you lies the planet itself, two thirds of the surface being arid, craggy wastes, while the sprawling city of Ahrata gleams a green-grey in contrast with the red desert.

From orbit you can see the two civilized continents, one seemingly purely devoted to an agrarian way of life, whilst the other seems more urbanized, with a third still devoted to crops, and the other three major continents seem to be teeming with life, lush rain forests stretching for leagues... the contrast of the dark green with the sapphire blue hue of the seas seems to set the whole picture into motion...

One Such cavern has been taken over by Necromancers, further dececrating this once proud place by raising the honored dead as servants to their evil schemes. Another door leads to an armory with a forge and grinder. Finally the frame has a section above it that intersects with a small patch of stained glass roofing with a smaller section of levitating rings that filter sunlight into the portal itself, and in front of the portal are small sections of flooring that are designed to pop up if the portal ever brings something horrid into the world of Gaia.

# Dark Woods, 2009-04-30 03:54:52, as written by Thagrahn
The wind sweep throught the tree tops on a late and cloudy afternoon. A well worn and often used path winds its way through the roots and trunks of the trees. This place is well known and well traveled, but for most who walk this route, they see only the path. Most missout on the hidden secrets that whisper to themas they trudge along in ignorance.

The babble of a stream not far away, goes unheared. The shadowy entrance to a cave system peeks through the folage, but still goes unseen. An old rock lined overgrown path leads of to the side, but no feet tread upon it. These places where known once, but know they're almost forgotten ghosts.

The creaking of the shutters is the only thing that sometimes catches the ear of a traveler passing by, but it's been a very long time since anyone came to the cabin. A long time since anyone has stood on the old pine porce. A long time since anyone opened the heavy oak door. A long time since since anyone started a fire in the hearth. A long time since anyone remembered who lived here.

All that could change this night, for the day grows dark, not from the setting sun, but the coming storm. Do you as a traveller this night try to fight through the rain, or do you take the path, go past the caves, cross the stream, and enter the cabin?

Gigas had been flying towards a kingdom where he was being summoned as a right hand man for a powerful lord "Soon to be a Ex lord" said Gigas as he flew. As he flew he noticed the smell of rain heavy in the air so before his wings got to wet to the point of no flying for while he searched for shelter soon finding it in a cave he found after taking a seemingly normal route.

Gigas stepped inside the cave and looked around his keen vision allowed him to see in the darkness of the cave and all he saw was the long cavern that went back. "Hmm...maybe i could follow this to someplace?" says Gigas curious on where the cave goes. As he walks back he sees a bear sleeping. He tries to walk past it without disturbing it but no dice. The bear wakes and roars at Gigas obviously mad at the intrusion of its cave. It charges gigas with rage only a bear could have but gigas with a smile on his face round house kicks the bear in the face sending him slying into the wall almost causing a cave in but killing the bear.

Gigas soon found himself outside of the cave and staring at a river running smooth for now. He flew across it with ease then started to walk towards a wooded area where he thought he had seen lights. He came into a clearing where he saw a cabin just siting there and a light was on in it. "Someone must be there..." said Gigas but then looking back he knew he must take shelter inside of the house so he does not delay his trip. Gigas walks up to the door and knocks folding his wings back so he may fit through the door no one ansers so Gigas opens and walks in. The light is on but no ones home. Gigas chuckles at his own wordplay but then finds a letter sitting there with a quill and ink.

The parchment said "To those who find this house be warned that once you come in going out will be dangerous for the beasts outside wont let you leave. The rain really isnt rain it is just a trick to get poeple to find shelter. Turn on the light and the beasts will be at bay turn it off and i warn you never to go outside...." The message trails of in what looks like ...blood.

A young Draiken speeds through the woods, gliding between large stretches of trees, keeping to the tree tops. Her heart pounding in her chest, Shenna Rai looks back to see if she's still being pursued. Seeing nothing behind her, she slows down, and stops on a thick pine branch. She looks back again and listens to everything around her.

A burbling stream, wind through the branches. A smell of rain comes to her and she peers through the branches above at the darkening sky. A twig cracks out of sight, and she takes off again faster than before.

After what seems like an hour, a cave passes unnoticed nearby and abruptly the woods give way to a clearing and an old cabin. Deciding to try to outmaneuver whoever may be chasing her, she takes a risk. She rushes for the porch. Thunder rolls over head, and the rain begins pouring down. Seeing a light on, she knocks at the door and waits a moment for an answer.

A light breeze shifts through the thick trees carrying the melodic whispered chant of a young witch praising her Goddess within a small clearing. Her arms lifting into the air in the last praise tosses the hood of her short white tattered cloak from her head, her dark red hair feathering her face falls against her cheeks a few strands landing in front of her eyes. She would open her eyes at the scent of rain on the air, her deep blue glowing eyes scan the darkening skies.

She would quickly gather her books and pendants, packing them neatly in her shoulder leather pouch, resting it across her chest and around her neck. Looking up to the skies again she would see a figure flying across the sky. She would turn and start hurtling through the trees at great speed in the same direction as the flying figure, the wind pushing her feet and form along at her will.

She would stop at the entrance of a large cave, almost falling over at its sudden appearance. Glancing around she would cautiously take a few steps forward, death hanging in the thick underground air of the cave. A light chant would escape her lips as she would snap her fingers, a bright flame dancing on the tips of her thumb and middle finger as long as they are together. With light she continues into the cave, stopping at the bear and saying a prayer to the Green God for it.

Somewhat relieved that was the scent she caught in the air she bound through the cave again. Upon reaching the other side of the cave she spots an old cabin. Her face would lighten with a slight smile as she walks up to it. Seeing the light is on she would slip up against one of the shadowed walls and let her form slip through the shadows and into the cabin. The shadows inside would shift just before she steps from them, seeing a form at the center of the room she assumes it must be the resident and she speaks melodically, "Knock, knock..."

Gripped by impatience, Shenna opens the door and hurries inside, shutting and locking the door behind her. Folding her white wings in tightly beside her, her tail twitching, she looks around and sees two others in the room. She eyes the two with a bit of interest, then realizes that she may have interrupted them.

"Forgive my intrusion. I happened by this cabin on my...journey and needed a place to hi...wait out the storm. I hope you do not take offense at my sudden entrance." She blushes slightly, looking from the woman to the man.

Lucario's breath was heavy, his hand covored with blood, he held tightly his stomach, where blood rushed out, his blue ears where slanted down slightly, his eyes closed in pain. The scratch on his cheeck didn't bother him, even though it gushed blood aswell. He took a deep sigh and tried to run again, his breath turned heavy once more as he ran. He stopped and leaned up against a tree, trying to catch it breath. He coughed and blood came up with it, he looked up and saw a cabin, could he make it that small distence? Unsure, he took a few deep breathes before yelling and falling to his knees.

She would look from the form in the center of the room, her eyes meeting the woman who had entered through the door. She would smile lightly to her, "Seems like I'm not the only one hiding from the storm...and no, your not intruding, not on me at least..." Her eyes would shift from each of them in the cabin, glancing around to the interior she could tell the other in the room was more then likely not living here in these conditions. She would take a step forward to introduce herself but stop suddenly turning her head at hearing yelling from outside.

She turned and slipped straight out the way she came in through the shadows in the cabin hopping outside she would rush to the man's side kneeling down to him and pulling his head up onto her lap. The blood was all over him and made it impossible to see the wound. She would run her fingers lightly through his hair trying to sooth him, closing her deep blue glowing eyes for only a moment. She would place her right hand over the still streaming blood and water would flow from the nearby plants to him, wrapping around his form cleaning the blood from his skin and flowing back into the ground. She would cringe at the wound and look to him, "I can heal this... but I must have your permission...and I must know if this was done by a weapon or by magic..." Her deep blue eyes would search his waiting for his answer.

[ Lucario's not a man his a pokemon, but's I guess that's my fault cus I didn't really describe him, here: http://supersmashbrothersbrawl.net/images/lucario.jpg ]

Lucario's breathing was so hard to do that he couldn't answer, he just nodded, he wanted this pain gone, but he couldn't conversationaly answer the last question. He had to try and show her. He put out his hand, palm facing up, he closed his eyes and a blue ball formed, he let his hand then fall to reserve energy, the blue ball just faded away into nothing.

((Thanks for the pic. I was wondering ^_^))

Shenna smiles back at the girl and nods her head once, glad she had not in fact interrupted anything. Hearing a yell from outside, she jumps, thinking it may be someone after her. The girl disappears into the shadows. She looks around for a better hiding place in the cabin. Seeing the fireplace, she changes into a white squirrel and runs up into the chimney. Coughing from the soot and becoming irritated that it settles into her fur, she tries not to make noise as she hides there in the dark.

(( Sorry, my mistake.))

She would nod to him and then her right hand would punch through the mossy ground beneath, a puddle of water forming in the hole. She would wave her hand over the hole, the dirt hardening around the water turning into a bowl. Her eyes would close once more in concentration as her skin would lightly glow green. The water would then wrap around her arm like a tool as she would place it just above the wound. Two streams would enter into his body, one into the wound the other into his mouth. The stream entering the wound would slip gently through the flowing blood gathering the cells and clotting the blood on each individual break of the flesh mending the skin naturally back together. While this goes on the stream entering his mouth would seek out the blood in his lungs, pulling it and clearing them of any aliment.

Her body would falter slightly once done, the streams of water flowing back into the bowl and the bowl turning into sand filling its own hole. Her eyes would open as she would scan his skin for any other injury.

Lucario coughed, he wasn't in as much pain now. He looked up at her" Thank you" he said, he slowly sat up, he coughed a little more. He looked at the cabin" you live their?" he asked, he rubbed his cheeck, the wound was actually gone. He closed his eyes and could see everything in the cabin, he scanned it for other people.

He stepped into the sanctuary sniffing and blinking rapidly adjusting to the light. His eyes saw the girl eating the steak, the barman doing his job, and the strange man reading the bible. He about passed out from the overload of pheramones bombarding his olfactory nodes. His unhuman eyes wouldn't adjust to the light so he went to a nearby store to buy some sun glasses, he also baught some cologne to hide the sent of blood and brimstone.

He walked past the strange bible reading man and the food area with the barman and female. His feet kept moving as he looked for something that would take his mind to better places and to let his aching feet rest without burning a hole in the floor. That's when he found a small alcove that someone really had to be looking for or they would miss it.
"Perfect" he stated with a strange warm voice that would make a cold hearted scrooge feel loved.
He slid into the alcove and sat sniffing and placing all the different pheramones.

Sylph barged through the doors of the Sanctuary, wet and shivering from the cold. The welcoming warmth rushed to her immediately and she sighed in relief as she leaned against the door. The elf's hood fell lightly on her shoulders, revealing a set of long, pointy ears, when she shook the water off her wavy hair that tumbled down her back. She was a bit strange for an elf. Having extremely white hair that looked like it had just been bleached and bright red eyes that shined even in the dark. "Those damn humans.." she muttered to herself angrily, stalking past a girl and a strange man reading from a bible.

Sylph felt a wave of nauseau as she passed yet another man. Clutching her throat, she glanced in the direction curiously with her fiery eyes. Being an elf, she had a better 6 senses then most creatures. Gazing deeply into any hidden places, she caught site of man sniffing the air eagerly. Again, that sick feeling fell upon her as her eyes fell on him.

After a long days journey through the Everlasting forest, Ajax and his companion Jango were very tired. Earlier that day 4 different bandit groups had tried to kill them. But as always Ajax's supreme fighting skills from being a Black Knight aided him in battle. His fathers sword which was given to him by his father on his death bed never left Ajax's side. He always brought it with him where ever he went. His father once told him "No matter how courteous or kind you are, someone will always resent you." This is why Ajax never trusted anyone he just met.
As Ajax was walking into the Sanctuary that was established long before he was born, he saw an old enemy of his named Gregor. This was the man who turned him into a vampire and stole his childhood away from him. So instead of causing a scene inside the sanctuary, Ajax caught Gregor's eye and lured him out into the open where Ajax was waiting to finally get his revenge.
Gregor was not a dumb man. He knew if he walked outside he would be attacked. So he decided he would turn into a bat (cliche I know) and fly out the back door and save Ajax for another day.

As much as he enjoyed new smells and different sensations his mind drew a blank when he caught the new pheromone. It made him shutter as he looked around for the new entity that had entered. He went through every scent he had remembered finally resting on elf. Knowing that he had probably already been seen he stood up and walked away from the hiding spot at a quick yet steady pace.

When he glanced at the elf his mind didn't wonder nor did it falter in disbelief but it simply registered the possible confrontation and made him pick up speed. Though he knew no harm would come to him in this place he did not want to converse with another mystical creature especially one from the lighter side of things. So he kept his quick pace and walked past the girl lounging and walked into a large store hoping that it would make it easier to evade a conversation with the lighter of the three.

After the run in with Gregor, Ajax decided it would be safer inside the sanctuary. So he walked back inside and saw a very strange looking man reading a bible. But upon closer inspection of this man, he was not reading it at all. It appeared as if he were looking for some one, he would occasionally look down at the page but every time some one walked into the sanctuary, he looked up.

Ajax had no clue who the man was waiting for, but he didn't want to be there if and when he did. So Ajax walked around looking for a place to stay for the night. He thought to himself that he may even get a job there so that he can replenish his already dwindling money supply. The man reading the bible suddenly got up and followed the strangest looking lizard creature Ajax had ever seen.

Ajax thought about warning the lizard creature but he did not know if this was a personal meeting or a possible assassination attempt. Either way Ajax did not want to get involved because he would risk blowing his cover and then he would have to leave the country. So he just kept an eye on the lizard man and the bible guy. As far as he could tell nothing was wrong. So Ajax went back to trying to find something to eat. Being a vampire he usually would go suck a cows blood, but since he was in a relatively public place, he decided to find a restaurant and get a very rare steak.

Sylph stepped back a few paces backwards as the mystery man hurried past her. Her eyes followed him with a hint of disgust as he walked into a large store. Her instincts told her to loathe him and his kind.. what ever his kind was. Sighing, she shook her head and walked the opposite direction. She didn't even bother to chase after him, knowing she probably wouldn't be able to find his hiding spots again.

Sylph sat on a nearby bench and stretched her arms out to her sides.

He watched the elf and the bible reading man without actually looking at them. In the store the lights were dimmer and softer than they were in the main area. So he removed the sun glasses revealing his plasma blue eyes that lacked pupils and seemed to be sunken into his skull like they waited to pounce at whatever they saw. He didn't like the large store for they usually held a fragrance department that would not allow him to trace every step the people he could not see took. After purchasing some new clothes and toiletries he exited the store with his stomach growling.

Usually he would have eaten the meat and bones of a good hunt, the sanctuary did not allow for such behavior. In that regard he followed the pheromone trail of the bible man, who he now placed as a vampire, to the restaurant. As he sat down a

Ajax was sitting down eating his dinner when he saw someone who looked familiar. He knew almost at once who it was, Gregor. He had to resist the urgre to sprint over to him and rip his throat out. The sanctuary does not allow that beahvior so he just watched Gregor. He was looking at all the little children who walked by, probably decided who his next target would be. Even he knew the rules of the Sanctuary. SO he was extra cautious. Ajax had finished eating and thats when he saw the bible reading man again. He was walking right up to Gregor. Ajax almost yelled to the man, but then suddenly Gregor and the man shook hands and walked off together.

That expalined everything. The Bible man was just a spotter for Gregor, he was probably a vampire himself and would get a portion of Gregor's victims. Ajax was very angry at how he missed that. He wanted to go blow Gregor's cover, but the sanctuary welcomed all types and exposing him as a vampire when he was doing no wrong, would be useless. So he just had to wait untill something was about to happen and put a stop to Gregor once and for all

Leaving the restaurant his belly full and his head straight He looked around at the main area not knowing what to expect. He watched two vampires walk away while a third watched them intently. He saw the girl sleeping and the other girl resting on a bench. He sniffed happily now noting how well pheromones smell after a meal. The best that he caught was the elf's. He knew that lighter creatures release a sweeter pheromone than those of dark decent. The sweet smell was overwhelming he couldn't help it he need to get closer. He walked cautiously over to the bench with the elf placing his sunglasses back on his face.

Before he got to her he quickly squirted some more cologne on so the stink of blood and brimstone didn't scare off the source of sweet pheromones. He finally got within a foot of her a broad smile spread across his face. He looked at her for a second then cleared his throat and said in soothing cold voice "May sit next to ma'am?"

She immediately froze in place at the sound of a male voice. "It's him." she thought bitterly. Opening her eyes slowly, she frowned at the man and quickly placed one hand over her mouth. "Ugh.. it's.. terrible.. !!" she muttered, placing her elbows on her knees. He smelled like some kind of cheap perfume mixed with blood and menace. Sylph realized how strange she had just acted in front of him and took control of her overwhelming emotions. "Go ahead." she welcomed icily, staring at his sunglasses in a cold manner that suggested hostility. She didn't even bother trying to appear friendly and warm. Solitude was in her nature.. and besides, she wasn't even sure if the stranger was a friend or foe.

Abandoned Multiverse Characters Restored

Hey guys,

Just letting everyone know that I've gone through and found as many abandoned characters as I could and placed them back into their original creator's list of characters. There were several thousand characters who I could not determine the owner for, and as such I've placed those in the orphanage.

You're free to abandon them again if you wish!

Sincerely,
Your Friendly Multiversal GM

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Hello folks!

There's been a lot of talk lately (mostly unpleasant and misunderstanding) about the invasion and occupation of Terra plot that Barney and I have been working on for over a month and which was recently unveiled publicly (apparently?) in the Multiverse. The idea behind most roleplay usually termed "nation roleplay" or "NRP" is not to overtake or dominate a large-scale roleplay, but to enrich and provide sociological, economic, and political background to such a setting. "Nation roleplay," or roleplaying that involves nation states, de facto state entities, or state-like factions, is intended to be a breeding ground for character development, provide a backdrop for character interactions, and create multiple avenues for diverse and engaging plotlines to develop at both micro and macro levels.

In my own writing, I focus predominantly on the development of individual characters and the dynamics of interactions among those characters. I find overarching, meta-plotlines like this invasion plotline to be an excellent impetus for engendering and fostering more vibrant and compelling character interactions and new plot ideas by creating multiple sources of tension. Characters need not have any high rank or formal affiliation with a faction in order to be impacted by larger events (think of what happens to average citizens when any country goes to war), nor will they necessarily be directly affected in any significant way (think about the everyday lives of most Americans during the Iraq war.) But you, the writers and roleplayers, will have a myriad of opportunities to create, develop, and form deeper and more interesting plots to feature your character(s), given a new set of macro-circumstances.

Both Barney and I welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in active involvement in the invasion plot at any level (very active to vaguely active) in any way whatsoever to talk to either or both of us about your ideas, character(s), and plans. A large number of people have already done so, including the following people:

- krumbla -- I can't remember his idea (I'm sorry, krumbla; talk to me when I'm not sick as a dog?)
- Mr. Crow -- News media company to be formed before the invasion and to provide support to the resistance or rebels following the occupation
- curtsive -- Vigilante anti-terrorist organization to conduct terrorist operations against the occupation
- Alasund De'astio -- plays the Democratic Coalition, allies of the current (canonical to Ylanne) Terran government
- Nemo -- typically handles the military side of the Terran government, as well as Randin Kaye from the Wing City Police Department
- DemiKara -- whose character Aerilyn recently joined the Terran Intelligence Bureau
- Konstantein -- plays a daywalking vampire who will act against the occupation
- AzricanRepublic -- plays the UCON, which has a military presence near Terra and supports the TNG
- Marcus -- plays the Council, which has a vested interest in defending Terran sovereignty
- Tearen Wover -- plays VARIAtech corporation, which is offering military assets to the Terrans

And I'm certain I've forgotten someone (in which case, if that's you, I do sincerely apologize. It's one a.m. and I'm still sick.)

Barney and I have sketched out an overview of how we expect the plot to run from beginning to middle to end; however, despite the fact that both of us obviously plan on the plot following that sequence, it can change its course at any point depending on the ideas and in-character actions of any other folks who decide to get involved.

Some of the plots to occur during the invasion and occupation, both planned and still in discussion, already discussed include the following:

- Arianne Drulovic subjected to an order of indefinite detention
- Democratic Coalition rescuing Drulovic from Aschen custody
- Terran resistance kidnapping self-proclaimed God-Emperor Raphael McGregor
- Drulovic psychologically "breaking" McGregor with his estranged wife Cally
- Hataf attack against Aschen Empire holdings
- Guerrilla warfare between Democratic Coalition, UCON, and Terran forces against Aschen forces
- Taiyou attack on Aschen-controlled Terra
- Terran Independent underground dissident publication
- Jelisaveta Drulovic and family taking Natalija Drulovic's children off-world
- Rubano Malijin assuming power as regional Governor of Terra
- Public executions of political dissidents
- Internal rebellion against Aschen government by dissident Aschen leaders

I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek me out to talk plot, character, and ideas. Both existing and newly created characters can be involved with any plot, either existing or newly proposed by you. If you feel that this planned plotline (invasion and occupation) will unnecessarily or unfairly interrupt or alter your own plans for character or plot development, and you passionately want to retain your own plans as much as possible, please talk to me. I am very obsessive and have high levels of anxiety about maintaining the integrity and substance of my plans, so I know how you feel, and am more than happy to collaborate with you to work out something that satisfies you and makes logical sense.

If I'm not in the chat at any given time, I can be reached via private message, or by email at trealistorm (at) yahoo.com. Messages to that email address are delivered directly to my smartphone, which I check obsessively all day long, and will be read and replied to as soon as possible. (Usually within twelve hours, and sometimes within as little as ten minutes.) I want to hear your ideas and opinions (but please be polite to me; I do have feelings and am a real person over here), and I want to make sure that you don't feel like I am trampling over you or your character(s) or your plot(s).

[OOC] Taylor's Bar (Multiverse Location)

This is the official OOC thread for Taylor's Bar. I'll post staff, recent events, and other information about Taylor's here.

Taylor's Bar is a location owned by my character, Gabriel Taylor. The Bar/Hotel/Casino is extremely fortified and secured. Each entrance has a metal detector and the place is usually fully staffed with employes. Taylor handles all of his business in house and law enforcement is nearly never called. Various precautions have been set around the bar to account for the magical inhabitants of Terra and keep it's inhabitants safe.

News Announcements

Taylor’s Casino and Hotel Grand Opening!

Gabriel Taylor, multimillionaire and owner of Taylor’s Bar, a successful nightclub and hang out for the rich and wealthy, has moved onto his next venture; A casino and hotel. Patrons of Taylor’s bar may have noticed construction going on around back as well as various signs and posters apologizing for the inconvenience; The large tower coming up behind the bar would be rather noticeable to say the least. Last month we got a word with Gabriel Taylor’s manager and he’s said that he has big plans for this place.

“Terra’s never had a place quite like this; Gabriel’s casino will be the first. The casino is the largest in the world and it’s also the most secure. Not only won’t we be hit, but we can’t be hit. We’ve brought in security experts from around the world to devise the most advanced security system Terra has seen. We invite anyone who believes they have what it takes to try and rob us, but I won’t be responsible for your injuries or the blow to your self-esteem. Try to teleport through our walls? Have fun getting stuck inside of them. We’ve worked with various experts in the field of magic and technology to create a sort of ‘teleportation displacer’ as well as armed our guards with anti-magic grenades. Although obviously not 100 percent effective, it gets the job done.

The hotel is large and extravagant. It has everything you’d ever need, ranging from a five star restaurant to indoor pools, and a top of the line spa. Our 2nd floor hosts a large assortment of stores holding anything you can think of including the finest clothing and the newest technology. “

The casino and hotel’s grand opening is April 9th at 7 pm. The party at Taylor’s bar goes from 7 pm to 2 am, but good luck getting in. The guest list is packed and with the security at Taylor’s it’s going to be difficult sneaking in.

Re: [OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

We have a an Official Group now. Whoohoo. I will edit some more details later on in the day due to my exhaustion.

[OOC] The Gaia Stones [IC Fantasy Event]

Image

The Gaia Stones is a plot that I am currently GMing within The Multiverse on a planet deep within the Milky Way system where technology is not allowed and will not be able to function. The world is ruled completely by magic and magic law. The story consists of people being summoned to the planet Gaia (if they did not spawn on the planet themselves) and were brought to The Ruby Flask. They were given a task to follow a powerful mage named Ry'nn Traeger to collect stones which would unseal powerful weapons that had once been used to forge the kingdom. The purpose behind the quest beyond that remains to yet be seen.

THE WEAPONS

Skuldgrim the Slayer of Undead
Skuld was the first sword forged on the world of Gaia in the Xanaldra Forge. It is a legendary blade that has not been seen for a hundred generations. It once served Gaia when the undead were a threat to all living beings on the Mother’s soil and vanquished The Risen Horde during the age of Those Who No Longer Roam sent by Eras.

The blade of the sword is long and elegant with a pointed edge that is perfect for piercing into armor. Down its length is the engraving of Sagittae—a beautiful woman—in finely etched lines on one side and the other is the engraved representation of Atargatis—a strong and lithe man. The edges are blunt and glow with a strange red flame from enchantment. The blade and hilt are made from a very light weight and mysterious metal.

The pommel of the sword is marked with an engraving which represents the goddess Sagittae; one of the stars of Gaia and the Mother’s protector from the evil god Eras. The sheath is blood red. It is unbreakable and will never shatter.

It is a sword meant to battle the undead which roam mindlessly on Gaia; skeletons, reanimated corpses, and shades. But with all swords of power, there is a weakness. It cannot kill any living soul and may only be used on the undead.

Artrea the Healing Gauntlets
Artrea were gauntlets worn by a legendary man named Lysander Enlight. The gauntlets were hidden beneath the soil of The Exalted Mountains and were used to light the world when Eras had almost consumed his siblings. For seven turnings of Gaia had Artrea served to the be sole beacon on hope for all living things on the world.

The gauntlets are made from a mysterious metal which is completely white in color, almost as if they were made of our pearl. But they are as harder than any metal known to the current world as the knowledge died with Those Who No Longer Roam. They will light the path when light is needed most.

Glittering feathers protrude backwards and out from the wrist. The fingers are sharpened like ten deadly claws that can grip any surface short of diamonds. It is easy to scale a wall with the gauntlets. But that is not what make the weapons deadly. So sharp in fact are they, that they can pierce through most armor and can slice through human flesh like a razor through parchment. But their greatest power is the ability to touch others and heal their mortal wounds through the use of Will.

There is always a weakness that comes with weapons of great power. Those who adorn the gauntlets and use its abilities will soon find their eyesight failing on them over a long period of time. All those that have ever used them—even once—have gone blind with age. And when they are used to heal, the adorner will find themselves very drained as if their own life-force had been passed into the other in order to save their life.

Questions, suggestions, and comments should be directed here, especially when chat is busy or when I am not online or active in the chat.

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Actually if you want it as a news report, at least offically so, there is a News Thread for the Multiverse as a whole

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Sangrei's only statement was this. "Hey, I was hungover, and I got an iced tea with honey. How was I supposed to know that the bear thing was gonna come over and wreck the bar looking for goddamn honey?"

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Gambit's Bar was drained of all its honey by a mysterious yellow bear!

Image

Unfortunately, Wing City police did not know this and were left in confusion to find only a yellow teddy bear with a red shirt at the scene of the crime.

The only customer under record who had ordered a glass of honey that day was a Sangrei Friedn. Responsibility for the bill and possibly the stolen stock of honey have yet to be decided. Police still find Friedn a suspect.

HAHAHAHAHA. The conclusion isn't coming til closer to the summer. Frequency of activity and times when the folks who are involved currently has dropped quite a bit for a variety of reasons, and I don't anticipate the conclusion to Family Pictures for a bit. That said, for those who pay attention to the faction-side of things, the announcement that elections have taken place for the Terran National Government will be posted soonish (i.e. within the next two weeks insh'Allah.)

Those who might be expecting me for roleplay, I will have no internet access this Thursday through Sunday this week except from my phone or if I can access someone else's computer with internet access. You will only be able to reliably reach me via email, which goes to my phone. If you don't have mine, any staff member does, as would anyone who regularly roleplays with me. Thanks!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

There's no real procedure to get "started" in the Multiverse. The hub of activity is generally Gambit's Bar, but you can grab a roleplay partner and head anywhere. The sky's the limit!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

I'm new here, and I just made my first character. How do I get started in the multiverse? I'd like to stick mostly to Terra to keep as close to my character's home as possible, but if I have to move, I will.

If you want to check out my character, go to roleplay/the-multiverse/characters/lorenzo-caracciolo
By the way, that is not near my real name, so don't worry.

[OOC] yea retarded moment

i managed to make myself feel like a retard just now i just posted a 86 word post in the wrong area . . . this is ooc . . . i posted it in IC so now i feel like a retard but we all have our moments so ^^ yea

You can create and play anything that you like in the Multiverse. There is no acceptance or review of characters, just create the character and start RPing!

Re: The Multiverse: The Official OOC (uber)Thread

Hello folks! I'm currently maybe two-thirds of the way through the planned Family Pictures sequence, which can be read here, and am posting one last announcement looking for folks who might still want to become part of that. There are opportunities! They abound, in fact! (Yes, I was looking for an excuse to use the word "abound" in an internet forum post. I successfully created one.) Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?

Um. Okay. Bear with me. I read through what posts I saw, and took note on things that were said to the best of my ability. Here's where I stand on the Multiverse, where the Multiverse is to me, and yeah. I guess.

I agree that there needs to be a set baseline. For instance, the name of the bar. The name of the world that the bar is on. The name of cities, nearby things like that. There can be a set system of government, the Wing City Police Department, but their "jurisdiction" only stretches so far. Some of the most interesting roleplay I've seen/participated in has involved characters coming from other worlds and having to either deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.

Alternately, some of the worst and most frustrating MV roleplaying I've seen has been .. involving characters coming from other worlds and having to deal with, work around, or confront the system of government set in the Multiverse.

I've always seen the MV as a hallways connecting various rooms. The rooms are your own story, your own ideas, your own canon, your own characters; it's where your friends gather and you control things. When you're out in that hall, however, all bets are off. That isn't to say you can pull things out of your ass, but you accept and understand a certain amount of handicap.

For instance, my character Liesha Kennicot is a Special Agent in the United States government, from her Earth. She's aware that there are other Earths, and that she doesn't had any control when in the MV. That's fine. However, when someone else walks up to her and starts trying to give her orders claiming that their faction has taken over mine without a single bit of IC content, that's when things start to go awry.

Reading back over the original post, it seems that the Multiverse has as much substance as you give it. It's a sandbox location where you can freely interact with new characters that you might not get a chance to. For a while, I used the MV as a way to try and test out ideas with people before making a roleplay out of it. You get your circles of friends (as Patch mentioned, his crew of eight) and you go at it. Sometimes you meet in the middle, and sometimes you don't.

And at the risk of ranting, that is all I have to say about that.

Re: The Multiverse: Where Do We Go?

Oh dear gods. (facepalmer)

All of you and your wall of text. ALbeit all of them are thoughtful, insightful posts that share your views to everyone.
That's just not my style.

I don't know. It really has been ages since I last logged in or even joined the chat. Moreso with my job, my time has effectively been reduced to null. But i still recall the days.....

Joy in roleplaying. Let's narrow that down. Take note that the list below are different, different things.
A) Joy in creating worlds through words.
B) Joy in interacting with other characters.
C) Having fun.

Let's take a small look at C) and stare long and hard at a solid fact.
What someone may find enjoyable will be viewed as UNenjoyable by someone else. That's a fact. Since 'someone' and 'someone' is undefined, what i'm trying to say is that what you like may not be what others like.

Let's look at the multiverse or rather, let's look at the spirit of the multiverse years ago, when i first joined.
The multiverse. Where multidimensions collide! where anything and everything can happen.

I feel like playing romance. giant robots attacking the bar? Screw the giant robots, i came here for romance and i shall have my romance and i'm perfectly elligable to do so under the law that says multidimensions exist, and so, the two situations are at seperate events.

So why remain in gambit's bar? Because it also allows me to read on the other situation and find enjoyment in it. 2) allows me to see friends, and friends to see me and 3) allow others to take note of the roleplay i have going on, and if they are interested, ask me/the rp people if they could join.

And so the romance was broken by the girl's husband appearing, and punching the daylights out of my character.
That aside...

Let's look at the newbies....... na wait. I don't think i even want to talk about newbies and how they would react to 'canon' multiverse. I'll end my post here.
