Introduction

Honestly this is a reboot of my old role play. I tried to start one for me and my friends but my friends lost interest before they even made a character. :/ This one is open to the whole community.

The Straw Hat Pirates; a name that is known worldwide in stories and legend. A small yet powerful crew that took the world by storm. Some of their abilities are said to be exaggerated. After all someone's body couldn't possible stretch, or change shape. Nor could they sprout their body parts form any surface or actually be an undead skeleton. But even so the stories of these great pirates is a fun one. A nobody from East Blue slowly building a pirate crew, helping those they come by, and becoming the pirate king. Defeating all the opponents that come before them; Yonko, renown pirates, Shichibukai, and World Government officials alike.

Little do most people these days know, but the strange powers the Straw Hats had were real. And these powers were collectively known as Devil Fruit powers (since they came from eating Devil Fruits). The reason for these abilities not being thought of as real is quite simple really. The World Government didn't want these abilities to be open for anyone so someone like Pirate King Monkey D Luffy couldn't come about again. So to meet this end the World Government started gathering all the Devil Fruits and destroyed them. Removing them from the Devil Fruit cycle entirely.

At the time the World Government thought that by destroying the Devil Fruits the way they did there would never exist another one again. And for quite some time they were correct in thinking so. However, 100 years after they thought they had completed their goal the unexpected happened: the Devil Fruits came back! But something wasn't right for the most part. All the Zoan and a few Logia Devil Fruits seemed to be the same. However, some of the Logia and all of the Paramecia types seem to be different; even if only a little.

Rules
1. This is a co-op role play mostly. That doesn't mean you can be a Lary Stu or Mary Sue. At least not from the get go.
2. I am not going to allow everyone to have Devil Fruits. Also no doubles. Check out what someone else has to know if it is takeN or not.
3. If you make up your own homeland you must describe it as you will see done in my character at the minimum.
4. Reservations will be held for no more than 48 hours. Reservations may be made either via PM, IM, or the OOC.
5. If all spots become filled and you want to join in you will go on the waiting list. It would be first come first serve. If someone leaves and wishes to come back and their character is not dead they can come back right away. That is the only way we would go over the max number of players.
6. More rules may be added as needed.

Jarren walked into a bar and took a seat at the booths nearest the bartender. People whispered about having seen his face on a new wanted poster. It wasn't that he was that dangerous, only about a thousand Berri bounty, but he was a non merchant from Death Isle. Unless they managed to join the Marines or were a merchant all people from there seemed to get a bounty. None the less he was classed a pirate all the same.

Jarren tossed a few Berri onto the counter and order a beer and some steak. As the food was set in front of him a quick flash of black went over the two items. Although only a trained eye would catch this occurance. A couple people that saw Jarren's ship embark starting talking about how Jarren was the only one aboard his ship. It wasn't like the others were hiding, there just wasn't anyone else. This was odd since the ship wasn't a small one either. It would take at least five people to sail the thing.

As he was eating a Marine walked into and demanded some whisky and steak. The bartender tried to deny the man saying his tab was overdue. But that didn't sit well the Marine; he got mad and started to threaten to tear down the bar.

"Would you shut up already. All you useless yelling is making my beer taste bad." Jarren said very plainly.

"Your looking for trouble aren't ya boy?" The Marine pulled out his pistol and started pointing it at Jarren's head. "Ya know, I could end you now and no one would care or try to stop me."

"Don't waste your bullet. It won't be able to reach me." Jarren saying this made the Marine very agitated. Due to this he pulled the trigger causing the gun to go off right at Jarren's head. Although the bullet seemed to just hit Jarren and fall to the ground. Anyone around could easily see what just happened, not that most of them could believe it. After all here in this small West Blue town no one really saw many strong folks other than Marines.

"If you had just shut up I wouldn't have to do this to you." Jarren got up and turned towards the Marine who was now quite frightened. He had no idea how a man could survive a gunshot to the head like that. Out of shear terror the Marine ran off. Jarren sat back down and continued his meal as if nothing had happened. The other patrons were thankful but still catious of Jarren, after all they had no idea who he was.

Many witnesses were abound that day to admire a rather... unfathomable sight, and none were the wiser than the resident farmhand with an intelligence averaging a mossy rock. Not many, at the very least. It required keen eyes and an oiled wit to fully observe and understand each frame of whimsical madness displayed at the front.

Note to self: Bullets are no sure cause of death.

Then again, they rarely were. Though the poor marine wimp didn't know that, wasn't much of a big cheese anyway.

With meticulous care, slim fingers grabbed hold of a feather with freshly dipped ink and began to gracefully recite the visual act into numeral cryptic acronyms and incomprehensible words. Excitement being one of many emotions that fuelled a sudden interest for the woman in shadows to approach this strange bloke for a chat. It's a rare sight to see a marine bow to a pirate, wasn't it? Maybe this dull town had something intriguing still.

Or maybe this was another red flag to avoid like the plague. Though, this one probably was the exact opposite of that.

The sullen atmosphere gathering in the room made many patrons wary of the bullet-deflecting man. Heck, wasn't that weird. Might kill you in the blink of an eye. A sigh followed shortly after the woman in shadows had swiftly packed her belongings and slung the worn satchel over her shoulder. Clearly this had to be done with great caution, and in hindsight maybe it was a bit daft to go and talk to the man with the weird warping powers (super-powered people were strange like that). Her mission set, the veiled woman approached the somewhat smaller – ya, really – freak of nature in her usual quiet and eerie ambience.

β€œMost mortal men die in the face of a gun.” Or so she was told. β€œYou, however, are the anomaly.” The woman crawled from behind the abominable man and took the empty seat beside him. β€œWell, not that it matters to me. But cheating death is a bit silly, don't you think?” She shot her subject a blank stare, amber eyes lingering to make contact as an eerie pause followed the brief exchange of words.

Jarren look at the girl that sat next to him, slightly cono used by her words. Bullets not affecting someone was not unheard of back home. However Jarren's home was located on the Calm Belt, and with the Grand Line so close powerful people like that were normal. "It was just a bullet. Didn't have any Haki or anything with it. And from the looks of it that guy was causing trouble for the bartender here."

Jarren really didn't think twice about it, but letting the Marine go will likely start to get him known among the World Government sooner than he intended. "The food was good, anything I might be able to do to help ya out?" Jarren asked the bartender. Though his offer was turned down as quick as he gave it. he didn't really think about it, but rumor among the World Government that Devil Fruits were coming back had already started. Jarren stopping that bullet so easily might get someone higher than a basic Marine to check the situation. And letting that small fry go sealed the deal, although it was still only caused a Marine with some battle experience in West Blue to check it out.

"If you want to know about how I didn't die from the bullet why not come with me for a bit. I am sure you will find your answer." Jarren offered for the girl to follow along with him as he started for the door to go outside and look around the small town. "Oh, the name's Jarren by the way. Captain and navigator of the Void Pirates! Even though I am the only one so far." Jarren chuckled slightly at the thought of him being the only one of he group. Even though it was true people whispered saying they could have swore there were others on his ship before he docked.

The dull, tiresome and otherwise unimpressed expression changed little when the lad brushed his accomplishment aside like it was a daily routine in business. And, perhaps it was. Seemed like he knew a couple of bullet-dodging nutters besides himself. Still...

β€œHa-ki...?” The word dangled off the top of her tongue, though the actual meaning of that word had slipped the woman by without much thought, but decided to quickly scribble it on a mental note all the same.

Not that she ever not wrote anything down.

In her selfish process to comprehend the situation, the offer to tag along with mister invincible hadn't gone unheard and with an acknowledging nod she rose from her seat. β€œCertainly, mister...?” The woman began fishing for his name, which he had promptly given not long after they exited the bar.

Jarren...

Did not suit the image of a pirate, though piracy in and of it self rarely befitted anyone. A wretched practice, but perhaps a necessary one in all.

β€œI doubt the validity of your title if it's solely you as part of the crew. Though, who'd willingly follow an abomination on a whim?” The question sounded less genuine than it was, honestly, a single finger resting on her chin as the woman wondered for a moment before promptly asking; β€œMind if I ask what your plans are, mister pirate?”

Jarren gave an unsure chuckle, half-hearted as it was. Being called an abomination was a new one for him. He had been called a monster a number of times though none of it really bothered him. When he was asked of his plans a smiled played across his face. "My goal is to gather a crew and follow the stories of the Straw Hat pirates. Go around having fun, gathering treasure, eating good food and drinking good drink." Jarren look to his companion, still smiling happy as can be, "What's your name and what bring you to this area?"

As Jackson asks this the Marine from earlier comes around the corner down the road some ways. This time he brought his boss who was a big man. This higher ranked Marine was seven for tall and easily weighed three or four hundred pounds from muscle alone. As the first Marine pointed Jackson out the bigger one started his way towards Jackson. Even though such a large man was clearly headed towards Jackson he didn't show any signs of noticing the large man.

It seemed careless now that this bloke had the sensible attitude to talk about being a pirate with the whimsy flair that he did. Quite a troublesome and bold statement if she had to say so herself, and not one easily digested. Kids of today...

Being a pirate wasn't so bad, though. It certainly was a lot more appealing than being the resident stranger, slash dubious doctor that this one claimed to be. But to go about mentioning the infamous Strawhat name? No, that just might have gotten several eyes to turn and glaze over the duo in an attempt to hush them from angering potential forces that were scurrying the place in expectance of people like these.

Unfortunately, this had already gotten to such a state when amber eyes fell on the marine bloke who had previously gotten a beating from the whimsy pirate. Seemed he had brought a friend, and a hulking monstrosity at that! For now, however, she'd let her ignorance play the part. Capable company around and all that.

β€œHmm,” Another finger went for her chin, food for thought certainly. And not a question easily answered. β€œNames are pretty, but useless. The people here call me Jezebel, I suppose it will do.” Glancing back at the man beside her, she tinkered with the story she told a thousand times with each telling a different spin; better left ignorant than to get some semblance of truth. And after much debating, the woman finally answered; β€œNot as fascinating as a pirate's telling I'm afraid, but...” Though maybe this young one wasn't so much concerned with that. β€œ... I'm something of a visitor, who's taken up shop at the edge of town to torment the sick.” She said with a straight face...

Shooting her acquaintance an expectant- but not really look, the woman promptly jabbed a finger at the oncoming storm of muscular tactlessness. β€œFriends of yours?” She dully asked, not as fazed as most surrounding civilians were. Which was to say not at all.

Jarren looked to where Jezebel was pointing and saw the hulking Marine. He was making his way towards Jarren with clenched fists. It didn't look like he was here to play around. "Looks like he wants to play. Give me about one minute." Jarren walked towards the Marine who proceeded to swing at him. Jarren stopped and Said one word. "Tekkai," was all Jarren said before the fist hit him. As the Marine's fist hit Jarren it broke, and clearly so.

"Is that all you have?" Jarren asked, "Then I guess it is my turn." The Marine was frozen with fear as Jarren prepared his fist. A black net covered Jarren's fist as he swung at the Marine. When he made contact the Marine was sent flying, this instantly knocked him out.

Once this happened a ton of Marines came out and decided to charge at Jarren. "I don't want to have to deal with this right now." Jarren turned around and got ready to run off. Though the Marines started yelling 'get them' implying there were more than one person to capture. As he ran by Jarren picked Jezebel up bridal style in his arms and started to run, using portals like stairs into the air.

"Sorry for getting you involved. Where is your place? We should probably get what you need and get out of here." Jarren was already using his portals to ready his ship from afar. He wasn't going to force Jezebel to join his crew but he was willing to get her to a new location. It was his fault for getting her involved so he felt it was his responsibility to get her settled at a new place.

Fascinating. Most fascinating. With observant intent, she witnessed another splendid happening in this otherwise dull town. In most cases this would've ended badly for the receiver – and in the end it might have been, but not without a proper struggle that resulted in the wannabe-giant ragdolizing and cartwheeling through the air before swiftly coming to a halt on the cobbled street. Not a.. pleasant landing so to speak.

There was no doubt, this Jarren fellow was no pushover.

Not long after the demise of their superior, a flock of marines crawled out of every available woodwork and started hurling themselves for a chance at taking a head, although it seemed they were about to grab seconds as well. Regardless, the alleged accomplice remained calm in light of recalling the last time a marine tempted their chances in fighting the pirate.

In the event anything happened to slip past, Jezebel kept a hand on the dagger hidden behind her coat. A safety measure in case they came for her head, she probably had to run off now. How delightful...

Bracing herself for a jog, the sudden chivalrous act of Jarren left the woman a bit uneasy. She wasn't accustomed to being the damsel in distress, wasn't exactly her forte in any sense of the word. With another blank stare, she observed their means of transport through the air. Portals, huh? An odd choice.

β€œDon't make friends often, do you?” A rhetorical question, followed by a displeased frown at both her saviour and the barbarians angrily shaking their fists towards the duo. β€œBah! Could've at least let me cut some of his hair and nails. I'm running out of those.” No use complaining now, though.

β€œTake a left here, mister pirate.” A finger pointed towards a rundown-looking cottage, mostly build from old planks. Held together by rusted nails that barely did enough to keep it from falling apart.

"Roger that," Jarren said as he started of towards the shack. They were far ahead of the Marines so they had a decent amount of time for Jezebel to get what she needed. "Sorry again about getting you involved. I'll take you wherever you want to go once we get clear of this place." Jarren decided he was going to wait outside unless he was invited inside. He didn't want to intrude if he wasn't welcome.

Still using his portals back on his ship Jarren almost had things ready to debark. All that was needed was to unfurl the sails and go. The ship wasn't even attached to the dock anymore. The only thing keeping it there was a few portals around the base of the rails on the ship. Seeing the ship get ready seemingly on its own spooked some people around the area.

Since it'd be a while before the marines would find out the whereabouts of their wanted criminals (you talk to one pirate, eh?), Jezebel took a good portion of that window to think about what she should bring along. Nicks and bits were thrown into her satchel, mostly valuable alchemical ingredients and several vials of an unknown, clear liquid.

Honestly, if it were to her she'd rather take everything she could, but that'd just be taking advantage of a helping hand – even if said hand was the one to put her into this situation. β€œNow how do you propose we get on your ship? Marines abound, I'd wager.”

"I'm sure they have the docks guarded well. Though they won't be expecting us to already be there." Jarren said that like he was going to make it look like they were on the ship long before the Marines got there. How he was going to do that was unclear, but all things considered the only who one who knew was Jarren himself.

"If ther is anything else you want to get we can stop and grab it aomewhereally once we are out of danger. For now we better get going." Jarren opened one of his portals. This one covered a little more than the front door of the shack. "When you get to the other side the there will be a hallway, take the third door on the left. You can use that room while you stay on my ship."

Jarren then proceeded through the portal and went to the wheel of the ship. He made sure no one saw him as he got the final adjustments ready to set sail. Once he was ready Jarren waited to make sure Jezebel was through the portal before having it vanish and setting out to sea. Once they departed the Marines were sure to try and follow.

There wasn't a whole lot of room left to inquire more about these portals, the boy spoke of. Time was of the essence, and seeing no other way out than through some magical gateway that lead to heaven knows where the woman gave an affirmative nod to her rescuer. β€œMuch obliged, mister pirate. I won't dillydally any longer.” And with a quick glance at the oncoming flock of marines, she vanished into the portal that exited out to a corridor, presumably belonging to the ship's interior (it was hard to tell, really), and strode off for the given directions to get settled in for a bumpy ride.

Oh, what an interesting day this was turning out to be. Through the events of the bar sat a spectator that probably would have stood out, had there not been a much more interesting fight going on to draw eyes from this figure. Being of dark skin and silver hair, she wasn't your average-looking bar patron. Though in this world, it did take all sorts. For now, she played the role of a guest in the play hall of this bar, watching with an amused smile at everything that happened. She was ready to see a Marine get his ass kicked by this vagabond, knowing full well from her time with them that the Marines were generally not as tough as they seemed. But what she saw was far more interesting than a beating. "Devils Fruits..." She whispered as her grin widened. The bullet entered some kind of... portal? Like a magic door, almost. The entrance at his face, the exit at his feet. She'd be lying if she said it didn't look badass. He just stood there and let it happen. It was this that would lead this man to forever be in the presence of the Silver Star.

The very instant they ran out of the bar, their observer threw up her hood to cover her face from immediate view and followed suit. Using his portals as a staircase, hm? His Devils Fruit had many uses, it seemed. There was a certain sparkle of interest and fascination in her light caramel eyes as she headed towards the docks. If he was a pirate like she thought he might be, he'd have a ship. Probably some puny thing since there was no one with him, but a ship nonetheless. A man with a fruit power like him had to have a good ship. As a master shipwright, such a thing was just as interesting as his power. The two ran past the direction to the docks, perhaps to avoid any Marines along the way. Fortunately for her, she looked like a... somewhat ordinary citizen. She was clearly not from here, but she certainly didn't match anything on any wanted poster. At least not anything that wasn't twelve years old. She was perfectly in the clear as she made her way to the docks, making sure to keep her hood on and back covered the whole way there.

The only non-Naval ship there that wasn't the trade ships she passed on her way into town two days ago was a rather large ship. It couldn't be sailed by one man alone... or maybe it could, given that portal power she saw. But the master shipwright's eyes lit up as she stared at the glorious vessel, nearly salivating at the sight. "B-Beautiful... I've never seen anything like it..." Getting up close to the ship, just enough to be at the edge of the dock, she reached out to try and touch the ship. Managing a reach that only grazed her fingertips, the wood was smooth. It was definitely special, something she couldn't quite identify right off the bat. Reaching to her utility belt, she pulled out a small bottle and took a tiny swig, corking it and pocketing it back as she tried to find a way on board. "'Take your grappling hook' Ma said. 'You'll need it' she said. Why didn't I listen?" She sighed at herself and checked to make sure she was out of view. Once she was positive that she was, she reeled back her hand and threw a chain link that shone with a brilliant silver as her chest mass decreased a noticable amount. The makeshift grappling hook from her own Devils Fruit power served as a rope to climb up onto the ship, this work of art. Once she was on board, she recalled the silver chain to her body, disappearing into her sleeve as her chest grew heavier once more.

Before she could even begin looking around, portals spawned around the ship and the vessel began preparing itself for sail. It started leaving the dock on its own, leaving the girl with an expression that spoke both fear and excitement. It wouldn't be good if she were to be caught sneaking aboard a pirate ship... But wouldn't it be worth it to investigate such a strangely-made ship that could operate off of a Devil Fruit user's power? With a shrug, she muttered "Eh, fuck it" and got to examining the ship. It all seemed to be in tip-top condition, nothing to really mend or repair. Whoever made this ship was a high-caliber wright. Definitely at least on her level, if not higher. Meeting this wright was definitely on her list of interests now, right after this pirate. Truth be told, from her time in the Navy, she'd always admired pirates. She'd even had her curiosities and musings about becoming one. As a creature of whim, she was half-tempted to force her way onto this crew. But for the time being, she'd inspect the mast and other ship parts until she was discovered and confronted. She meant no harm and was clearly just looking, after all.

-Shiroa Nuosa-

Today had been rather boring at first for Shiroa, waking up, getting ready, and heading to work at a local bar. She wasn't terribly fond of having to resort to such a mundane life style after everything she'd seen as a pirate, but unfortunately without a crew to take her in, and with her funds quite low as it was, she didn't have much choice. On the bright side the job paid quite well so she'd managed to save up a fair bit of money so far.

The day went by uneventfully, making dish after dish for the customers here and there, everything went fine, that is, until around lunch time. It was business as usual, even when the bartender slipped her a note a certain marine had shown up again. That particular marine was a well known bastard who tried to abuse his authority frequently, but otherwise wasn't much trouble unless provoked. But, judging by a gunshot moments later, some idiot did just that. What's worse, the gun shot startled Shiroa, as she was carrying two plates of freshly cooked food up to the counter for the waiters to deliver she dropped both plates on the floor.

Balling her fists in anger at wasting two perfectly good meals, she immediately stormed out of the kitchen and searched for the one responsible, she wasn't surprised to hear the marine had already rushed out, and apparently the man who'd provoked him had (wisely) hightailed it as well. It wasn't terribly difficult for her to take a wild guess what he'd do, after all he'd technically picked a fight with a marine, abuse of authority or not he'd committed a crime now, they'd be after him to save face if nothing else.

She made her way as quickly as she could towards the docks, it was obvious which ship would be the pirate's. She rushed right up to the pair of marines standing guard, and wasted no time on them, taking one out with a solid uppercut to the jaw and the other with a roundhouse to the head, leaving both unconscious and groaning, "Hmph, and i thought i was the one with a glass jaw" she quipped with a grin as she went right up onto the ship.

Rather than mess around on deck, she went below and found the kitchen, and began a proper inspection, the food stores were decent, but the entire kitchen clearly didn't get much real use and wasn't even clean, at least not by her standards. So she decided to be a bit generous for now while waiting on the man she was after and went about cleaning things up.

Just as Jarren thought, they sent out a couple ships to take out Jarren's. "This should be fun," Jarren said to himself as the set the ship on a steady path away from the island. He went to the stern of the ship and looked at the enemy that was coming his way. Two Marine vessels made for capturing, if not killing, pirates and their ships. "Not bad, not bad," Jarren said with a smile, anxious for the battle to come.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The sound of 3 cannons' fire could clearly be heard.

Splash! Splash!

Only two shot hitting the water, the third shot nowhere to be heard. Anyone inside the ship would have no idea what happened unless they were looking out a window towards Jarren. In which case they would have seen that Jarren caught the cannonball barehanded. He didn't even use his portals to catch the massive hunk of metal. "Thanks for the ammo! I was starting to run low!" Jarren mockingly yelled out at the Marines, not that he was really lying though. He only had two cannonballs left; not including the one he just caught.

Jarren formed a blade with his hand and swiped it sideways. Just as he did this the main masts of both the other ships fell over into the water. They were basically dead in the water now. The other Marine vessels in the harbor either wouldn't stand a chance against Jarren's ship or wouldn't be fast enough to catch him. So for now they were safely out of rage.

With safety assured Jarren went below deck and started towards the room he had given Jezebel. He figured he would see if everything was okay for her and check if there was anything she needed while she stayed on his ship. On his way he figured he better check the ship to make sure no one came on while he was gone. To do this he sent out a wave, so to speak, of his portal through the entire interior of the ship. Being about an inch thick it would be easy to see. Although since it covered the entire volume of each room it would be impossible to avoid. Other than detect objects these portals didn't really do anything. During this sweep he found there was two others besides Jezebel and himself. For now Jarren decided it would be best to make sure Jezebel was okay.

There was a little tingling, a moment of doubt at the ventures to come. Little she could do about forcing the marines to lose face, and honestly she had been looking for a way off. Though that plan had preferably involved a lot of subtlety. Then again, few pirates knew of that mysterious trait. The woman relieved her own despair and worries in a long, irritable sigh as she began unpacking her taken rations and whatever else she could scrounge up in their hurry in vain attempts to forget about what was going on outside.

Bang!

And then the cannonballs plunged into the liquid abyss, prompting Jezebel to cling onto some manner of pole or otherwise stationary handle before she could lose her footing again. β€œFhew...”

A pale hand lifted up to adjust the large cap covering the woman's head, she'd definitely needed to find her sea legs soon...

"Son of a bitch." Alexander mumbled to himself as blood dripped from his broken nose, his guns had been confiscated by the very man who had left him half concious on the sandy ground. He was defenceless, and after putting up a worthy fight, Alex wasn't willing to throw in the towel just yet. His legs quivered from pain as he gradually balanced himself, he knew that he wouldn't last much longer if things continued the way they did but to be completely honest, Alex knew he didn't want to die just yet - not with so much to live for.

The sun was gradually setting upon the island leaving an orange hue down on the landscape as the ocean breeze left a faint scent of salt, carrying the commotion of the villagers gathering around the incident. The Marine ship was docked nearby as Alex could still see the mast dance in the gust of wind, the mere sight of it enraged him dearly. A gun shot fired, piercing his arm as blood splattered from it, staining the grains of sand below him.

"Didn't your mother tell you it's dangerous to play with guns?" The Marine boasted, slowly walking closer towards Alex with his very own weapon pointed to his head.
"No but she did tell me that Marines were dangerous, and well...Unfortunately I've found myself playing with one. Sorry Mama'." Alex winced, the various bullet wounds were now getting to him as the pain was becoming difficult to ignore, however his grin never left his face.
The Marine paused for a moment, admiring his tolerance for pain. He then turned to face the villagers, removing the cigar from his mouth, letting his mouth babble about those who are aspiring to be pirates will share the same fate as Alex would. Death.
Upon hearing this, Alex couldn't help but chuckle to himself, grabbing a hold of the weapon of which was pointed to his head firmly.

"Are you some sort of fool? You haven't made me deaf just yet!" Alex swept away at the Marine's feet, causing him to stagger to his fall as he released the firearm. As he landed, Alex found his boot pressed firmly on his face, as if he were trying to kill a spider.
The villagers became silent out of pure confusion as they couldn't get over how he managed to get death mixed up with deaf, a child yelled out that he was the idiot before her mother quickly covered her mouth, hushing her. With the commander squirming under his boot, Alex aimed at the rest of his crew.
"Listen here you bunch of sea rats, all marines are under me like this worm right here!" He boasted, blasting a bullet into his knee cap. "And that's for all the pain you've caused me!"

The villagers winced as it wasn't an appealing sight, but they kept watching - as if they were rooting for Alexander at the very start.
Something was off though. Alex had to resort to something he wasn't quite used to doing, he had to think. Gathering from what just happened, wouldn't it be normal for them to react? But he could sense no hostility from them...In fact they all seemed calm and composed, as if they wanted things to play out this way.
Alex exhaled heavily as thinking so much was proving to be stressful for him. It was at that moment that the group of Marines began to crave out a path for one man.

"And what exactly is going on here?"
His deep voice bellowed as each of the seamen stood in line, hands to their foreheads readying to salute. "Are you not aware that we're supposed to be ambushing a pirate ship Commander? This child isn't even a pirate and you've got your mouth full of dirt? Take that uniform off and burn it, you have tainted the rights of justice by allowing this peasant to manhandle you like so."

Alex lowered his weapon, he couldn't fight this man with his current state - He seemed to be on a whole different level compared to him. The Captain stood before his men, removing his cap revealing his bald head which reflected the gleam of the setting sun. His deep blue eyes fixated upon the young male, causing the wrinkles around them to take form of a weird shape. The man spoke once more, questioning the young male whether he was a part of a crew of the Void Pirates.
Alex shook his head, claiming that he had never heard of them before - however he included in that he was a pirate looking for a crew. The villagers didn't agree with his poor use of wording, as Alex practically just gave himself a death sentence.

"You're the worst type of human then." The Captain stated.

!

Within an instant, the Captain had found himself right next to Alexander, driving his fist right into his stomach with all his might. The force behind the punch was enough to crack a rib or two, as Alex was sent flying a couple of feet, dropping his firearm once more. By now Alex couldn't get up no matter how much he wanted to, his neck was now at the grip of the captain as he commanded his crew to gather up all the villagers. His firm grip felt like sandpaper grinding upon wood, choking Alex as he struggled to breathe.

"You and these villagers are a nothing but a stain to the World Government, it's only natural that we remove you. These Void Pirates will taste the same fate." The Captain paused as he was quickly informed of how the Void Pirates had taken out a couple of their vessels due to one man with a devil fruit, but they were heading this way. At this moment the Captain was aggravated at how it took just a mere no name to take out a number of Marines within an instant. He ordered his men to stay upon the island, while calling upon his best underlings to follow him towards the ship.

"Alexander Barrett, you will witness first hand how we deal with Pirates who think they can treat the world like a playground." Another swift right hook drove into Alex's tender stomach, knocking him out unconscious before dragging towards the ship.

"We remove of these pirates as swiftly as possible, understood? Now set sail." Captain Carling ordered.

-Shiroa Nuosa-

Hearing the cannon fire going on outside, Shiroa decided it best to leave the kitchen for to see the situation for herself, though she was almost completely done cleaning things up anyway. She walked casually through the ship until she got near the door to the main deck. Just as she was nearing the door, she spotted the man she had been looking for, he matched the description she'd gotten back at the restaurant, and she had no doubt he was the captain of this ship, and a would be pirate to boot.

Shiroa glared as she approached him, making it quite clear she wasn't in the best mood, or at least she made a point of seeming that way. In truth she was no longer all that mad, though it would be a mistake to think she didn't still intend to get repayment for him causing her to waste good food. "There you are, I've been chasing you through town since that ruckus you caused!" She said angrily, storming up to him. "Thanks to you pissing off that marine two plates of perfectly good food were wasted!"

She pushed past him and out onto the deck. "Food can't be replaced, once its gone, its gone, and i don't put my heart into my dishes for some pirate wannabe to mess them up" she said, a bit more calmly this time, turning around to face Jarren, this time grinning mischievously. "So, given the current situation, i have a proposition, I go with you and whatever other would be pirates you got to join you, or..." she said, trailing off. She held up her right arm, shifting it into a mass of jagged black spikes, "I send i hail of glass through your sails and get my payback from whatever bounty you have."

Jarren blinked a couple times at the sudden outburst from the girl that came from inside his ship. It was an odd turn of events but it didn't bother Jarren really. "Welcome aboard. You're welcome to join the crew though it is officially just you and me then. We have Jezebel, who I am taking to a new island and some other intruder checking out the ship." Either Jarren was very confident or he didn't take the intruder seriously. Either way he didn't seem too bothered by having someone on his ship that shouldn't be. "And I don't advise to damage my ship," Jarren walked through a portal and came out behind the girl. "She is from the Death Isles and is not to be taken lightly. By the way, the name is Jarren, captain of the Void Pirates and this ship."

As he introduced himself a bullet came flying in and hit Jarren's head. The bullet crunched up as if it had hit a steel wall and then fell to the ground. Jarren rubbed his head and looked to where the bullet came from, looking a bit annoyed rather than in pain. "Geeze, I just can't get away from these blasted Marines can I?" Jarren asked himself as he looked out to the incoming vessel. It was a battleship class and easily outmatched Jarren's ship. This time it was clear this wouldn't be so easy to win. Jarren opened portals around Jezebel and the other intruder on the ship and spoke into them. "If you are willing to fight to keep this ship afloat get topside and be ready to fight." Jarren then looked to the girl that had come about earlier, "You better be ready to fight, and this looks like a decently ranked Marine's ship this time. Won't be as easy as fighting off the last group." Jarren set his ship's course towards the Marine vessel and got it ready for avoiding hits to take the fight directly to the enemy ship itself.

"There they are, the Void Pirates. Now it is time to take them out before they get any further!" The Marine captain yelled out as his men got ready for battle.

-Shiroa Nuosa-

She let her arm return to normal, and glanced toward the battleship, shrugging her shoulders at the idea it was dangerous. "No big deal, well no big deal after you've dealt with them enough" she said casually as they approached the hostile ship, "at least as long as there's only one" she added mostly under her breath.

"If we get a bit closer I can take out the sails, but those Marine ships are too tough for me to do much to the actual ship itself, though... I do have a few tricks up my sleeve" she said with a playful grin, as if the entire situation was a big game. As soon as they were close enough she balled up both fists tightly, each one formed into large black orbs covered in tiny spikes. "This little thing always works pretty well, fun too, make sure you watch closely" she says

She hurls the first orb from her right hand in a high arcing underhanded swing, at the peak of its ark she launched the other, cocking her other arm back and throwing in a sharp over hand. The orbs collided and shattered into countless spiky shards that rained down over the Marines and their ship. Shiroa laughed heartily at the perfectly pulled off technique, "Let's see how they like my Obsidian Caltrops, that'll pretty much stop everything on deck, at least for a bit, don't suppose you have a plan for the cannons? I can't personally do much about those"

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Sorry I have been gone. Classes have kept me busy lately.

I did read the post. I gathered you were checking out the ship and assumed that meant more than just the outside. I'll get a post up as soon as I can. Might have to wait until tomorrow though; not sure yet.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

I: Dawg, did you even read muh post?

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Jarren was talking to Shiroa and I didn't realize that Marigold was above deck. xD

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

He's talking to Shiroa on the deck, I think. Don't quote me on that, I make for horrible quotes. Jarren did, however, open up portals to speak to Jezebel and Marigold respectively.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Uh, just to be clear... was he talking to Marigold? Because she's above deck looking at things and he's talking to some woman below deck that isn't Jezebel and I am the confused.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

You know what, that's a good shout.

Alright screw that idea!

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Any particular devil fruit type/ability you had in mind? Because the way I see it, those things should be left... untouched for most of the posting. I mean, we've already got three people utilizing a devil fruit, so maybe it's gonna be a bit flabby if we add a fourth individual (NPC or otherwise) so soon. Not that I'm picky, but, y'know... Can't we make him a badass swordsman or something.

Anyway, I'll add here now that Jezebel's got fuck all fighting capabilities. I'm not saying she'll be useless, but all she'd do is either pop a bullet, shank someone or... I'unno, bury a poor sod in a horde of spiders she happened to be keeping in a jar.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Hey I was just wondering if It would be okay for the Captain to have a devil fruit? He's supposed to be a corrupt marine, rather than fulfilling the main objective, he wants to obtain as many devil fruits as he can so he can create his own empire? Hmm maybe that's a bit dramatic, but it is one piece haha!

This should make the encounter much more difficult as we're all pretty weak in one piece standards, so this should not only get the whole crew together but help us build chemistry and such. (My bad if I'm taking this too seriously, just thought it would be great for things to get off with a bang!)

I'm honestly not trying to take control of the roleplay huge apologies if that's the vibes you're getting from me, I understand I can be a bit out of hand sometimes so ahh. ;;

But if he's not allowed a devil fruit then that's fine too.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

I'll have a post up tonight sometime maybe but most likely tomorrow

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

I am thinking of posting here pretty soon just to keep things moving a bit. Senpai's character hasn't been directly interacted with so we could get away with moving along still.

After I check the submitted characters and re-read the posts real quick I'll start getting another post up.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

I'll try and get something written this week. Work's been keeping my ass busy, but I've got a few days up in the upcoming week. Idunno what to really post, but I'll think of something eventually.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Well I've tried to get things rolling but it seems to have done the opposite effect, I haven't been told by the GM whether or not I'm ruining the course of the rp or whatnot.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

So... anything particular we're waiting on? No hurries, just curious when we'll get to do some actual adventuring. Not that Jezebel's got any reason to tag along besides debt payment.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Loving everyone's characters so far!

I'm almost done with mine, should be ready to jump in by tomorrow the latest. (Got so much hate for exams and studying right now haha.)

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

ok submitted, hope you like her :3

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

badboyej
Sure, I'll have that reservation up here pretty soon. Glad to have you aboard.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Oh man I've always wanted to jump in on a One Piece roleplay, I'd love to join this one if it's possible?

I'll go without a devil fruit since it's important the crew has a fine balance. Can I reserve the sniper role?

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Twilight Divine
Go ahead and post you character up. When I can I'll reserve the chef spot for you.

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

ooooo can i join? pretty please? :D
i have character of my one piece ones that'll work, one i just made, i really like her fruit that i made (Obsidian logia) and she can fill the chef position :3

Re: The New Pirate Era v2

Once your character is accepted you may start posting. I have been informed some people will not be able to post as often as others so try not to leave anyone behind.
