Garrett's traumatic beginning of life has given way to eighteen years of peace and work. He works everyday trying to match his mothers abilities. He is a strong fighter, but nothing compared to his brother Jace. Not that Garrett minds, he is more of a lover than a fighter.
Garrett devotes everything to being able to run the organization like his mother does. He needs to be able to do it on his own because as he learned from a young age trusting people gets you hurt. Garrett has some severe trust issues and it embodies in his desire to be able to do everything himself without help. He makes it all look easy though it is all truly a psychotic amount of work.
The only two people he allows to help him are Aubrey and his mother, the two people in the world that he trusts fully and that have never disappointed him. Aubrey works right beside him towards his own goal and his mother is their mentor and teacher. He works often with Arucan as well and enjoys the man, they have a lot in common and find each others company enjoyable. Many nights his mother, Arucan, Amirah, Aubrey and him will just sit in on the patio late at night drinking wine. The men, smoking and talking politics while his mother and Amirah gab over whatever caught their interest that day. His favorite part of the day. Sometimes his siblings will join them, even his father from time to time.
He has a special connection with his mom that his other siblings don't understand. Garrett always clung to her and even still today will sneak in bed with her from time to time. What happened with Gabe was never talked about, so the twins didn't grow up knowing so much bad stuff that happened. But he remembers... Those days scarred him for life and even now he feels like his family is going to be ripped from him by force. He is haunted by nightmares still and he finds it hard to be away from his family for extended periods of time.
The twins don't know the type of horrors Garrett was faced with as a small child and he vowed that they never would. Garrett loved the twins and his parents unconditionally, and tried so hard to help them, and to prevent them from giving their parents hell.
Garrett has a good relationship with his father, he loves him and still looks up to him in some ways. He doesn't understand how he can want to shelter Selene so much or let Jace get away with so much but that is Koda's job as a parent not Garrett's. Him and his father have an interesting dynamic, they talk more like old friends than father and son. Garrett does feel bad on a level... Garrett became independent at a very young age and his father feeling not needed kept Selene and Jace very close. Garrett feels like he broke his heart a little by not needing him for practically anything. Garrett was so self sufficient he didn't even need advice, if he needed something he just looked it up or went and got it himself.
He loves his father and spends time with him often, but as more of a peer. One thing he does bond with him on is sports, Garrett loves sports. Basketball, baseball, soccer, football... All of them. He always takes time to play everyday with his brother, Aubrey, and the adults, mostly Grant, Dylan, and his dad. It is like their own bonding thing. His sister, Garrett just sits with her and brushes her hair or pulls it into fancy braids and styles. Garrett is very good with anything that requires fine motor skills and detail, and as Selene says, no one can braid her hair like Garrett can. He tries to bond in anyway he can with his passive sister, normally just showing her with being pampered because that is what she likes.
Garrett is a well rounded individual with some quirks but a good man that loves his family and takes pride in his organization. Men want to be him and women want to be with him but he always wonders if they knew, really knew what he had to go through to get into this position, would they feel the same?
