Personality

Personality: Jace is an enigma. Many have tried, but all have failed in attempting to understand him. Jace is a rash, impulsive boy whose actions seem to follow no set pattern. He does things simply because he wants to. Once there is an idea in his head, he must bring it to life, and neither heaven nor hell can stop him. Jace is an unstoppable force of nature, refusing to yield. A bit of a daredevil, he will try anything once, regardless of how dangerous.

Reckless and wild, very little affects Jace. He lives life untroubled and carefree. He seems to have no perception of fear and it is nearly impossible to anger him. He treats everything as if it is a joke and will respond to even the most cruel insults with amusement and condescension . An excitable and almost giddy individual, Jace is always laughing and joking. Though many find Jace amusing, nobody thinks Jace is as funny as Jace does. He cracks himself up constantly.

Another thing he does constantly is talk. He is seemingly incapable of being silent. His lips are always moving, always spouting some nonsense. He always has to comment on everything around him; making him a horrible person to watch movies with. He has a tendency to use the things around him as springboards for his fanciful tales. He is constantly telling riveting stories starring none other than Jace himself. Whether or not these stories are true is up for debate. Despite appearing as if to be a shameless open book, Jace truly lives a life of secrecy.

Though it is no secret that Jace is an extremely restless individual. He sorely lacks the ability to sit still for even a moment. He must always be in motion. Some would say it's just the ADHD, but perhaps it's his battle instincts. He's active, always ready, and willing for a fight. His training is the one thing that Jace truly prides himself. He's a gifted warrior, having been thoroughly trained by both his parents since he could walk. Though he's neglected his studies, he has always thrown himself fully into his training. He gets high off the fighting, which serves only to fuel his already hyperactive state. During a battle he seems to glow and vibrate with renewed energy. Becoming a formidable warrior is the only real goal he seems to have.

Despite his dedication to his training, there is little else he is nearly as devoted to. He cares little for his studies consistently misses lessons. He couldn't be on time to save his life. He's always late to everything, if he even shows up at all. Full of restless energy, Jace cannot stand to be cooped up in one place for too long. Even the vast walls of the Delegates Headquarters will start to press on Jace if he remains within them too long. To remedy this, Jace is constantly sneaking out. Where he goes, nobody quite knows for sure. Typically though, he will wander off to human settlements to raise hell. His habit of sneaking off is well known though, and the guards tend to be on the lookout for him. Many a time he's been dragged back home by either them, Shisou, or worst of all his father.

Everyone views Jace with a mixture of frustration and wonder. He's such a strange, lively person that people gravitate towards him for the excitement. But few are able to handle him for long. His family attempts to do so, but still find him quite vexing. Even his twin sister, who he is closer with than anybody else. Selene and him have shared a close bond since childhood, despite being vastly different people. Jace tends to look out for his sister, physically speaking. He understands that she is delicate, and tries to keep her away from violence. However, unlike his older brother or father, he has no desire to shelter her. Jace hates to be tethered, and refuses to impose any such restrictions on his twin. He doesn't really care who she dates or dallies with; he doesn't view it as his business.

Jace relishes nothing more than his freedom, and will protect that gift to the death. He would never dream of taking it away from anybody else either. He is almost glad he is not the heir - he could never tell people what to do all day. Nor could he handle the responsibility. He prefers to be free to do whatever he likes. Some may call him rebellious, and perhaps he is, but most of what he does is for fun, not to make a statement.

Though, Jace does have a few hang ups. He has a rather nasty case of middle child syndrome; though he is not strictly a middle child. It often seems that way though. His older brother is his mother's favorite and his twin sister is his father's favorite; leaving Jace as the odd man out. It could be argued that this is the reason for his outlandish, eccentric behavior; that all of it is just a cry for attention. After all, Garrett is the "special one." The heir; the one who is going to lead the Delegates one day. And Selene - Selene is everybody's little princess. Pretty and well mannered and delicate. Perfect. But what does that make Jace? A lunatic apparently. But Jace doesn't mind being labeled, because at least it means people are noticing him.

Pros:
-Fearless; Jace is afraid of nothing. No peril or enemy is too great. He has absolute confidence in his own abilities.
-Charming; Jace is unintentionally lovable. People, namely those who do not know him too well, find his antics amusing and endearing.
-Spontaneous; Jace lives life to the fullest. He hates plans and prefers to do things last minute. He lives in the moment.
-Lively; Jace pulsates with an undeniable energy, something that burns behind his eyes and makes him seem far more animated than others.
-Creative; Jace is undeniably inventive. Whether it's crafting a riveting story or building some sort of ramp with which to try and bike off the roof; he is always original.
-Funny; Jace is always good for a joke, even when it's not a good time for a joke. He often makes up songs and games to amuse himself.
-Independent; Jace is entirely self-sufficient. He makes it clear that he does not need anybody else

Image

Cons:
-Thoughtless; Jace very rarely thinks of the consequences of his actions if ever. He is wildly impulsive and rash.
-Secretive; Jace doesn't like to include others in his escapades, preferring to run off on his own and return with a story instead.
-Restless; Jace cannot sit still, thanks to ADHD. He cannot stay cooped up inside for more than a few days on end or he'll start crawling up the walls.
-Inappropriate; Jace will say or do whatever he pleases, regardless of what kind of situation he is in.
-Vain; Jace is aware of how good looking he is, and will often reference it in conversation. He knows that he would not get away with half as much stuff as he does if he wasn't so handsome
-Unmotivated; Jace cares little for his studies or politics. His only real interest is his training.
-Attention Craving; Jace has always been desperate for his parents’ attention, ever since he was a little boy, though he would never admit it for a second.

Equipment

Attire: Jace is rather indifferent towards his clothes. But, having grown up with Midnight for a mother, he is aware of what looks good and what doesn't. He tends to dress surprisingly appropriate for the given situation, but there is always the possibility that he will show up with some sort of absurd embellishment. Like a cowboy hat or neon sunglasses. Usually whenever it would be most unsuitable. His parents assume that he does these things solely to drive them insane.

  • Equipment: Jace tends to travel very lightly. He is confident enough in his own abilities that he doesn't feel the need to carry weapons unless he is in battle. If anything, he will occasionally stuff a gun in the back of his pants when he goes out, just in case. Not for protection, usually more for amusement. Once when he was twelve he'd loaded the gun with only a single bullet - though he hadn't known which one on purpose; knowing would take out all the fun. He'd then proceeded to freak his sister out by pointing the gun at his own foot. She'd screamed every time he fired a blank, and he'd laugh. But, since he didn't know where the bullet was he'd eventually ended up shooting himself in the foot. That had been rather difficult to explain.

History

History: Jace has lived a rather good life. He's always been rather spoiled, but it was never toys or video games that he wanted. All he ever wanted was his parents attention, and he had quickly learned how to get it. He'd realized from a young age that by acting crazy, or breaking the rules, or running off he could get his parents undivided attention. Whether or not it was positive attention was really not relevant to him, he just wanted to be acknowledged.

Rather quickly though, Jace began to enjoy doing whatever he wanted. He found it freeing, and way more fun than following rules and guidelines. He was never one to take directions well. He has always been a rather free spirit, and a rowdy one at that. His older brother, Garrett, has devoted a lot of energy into calming Jace's wild impulses, but Jace won't have it. Garrett may be heir to the Delegates, but Jace has no such obligations. And if he can't be special, he's at least going to be himself.
