Introduction

The universe is made up of eight special Essences. These Essences were discovered thousands upon thousands of years ago, by some of the earliest civilizations, who studied them voraciously and even managed to apply them to their everyday lives. In modern day, the Essences are but a mere dusty, dark corner of study known as pseudoscience. However, they are anything but fake.

Eight teenagers (ages 17-22) have been born with the ability to manipulate and channel these Essences. However, the Essences have also managed to incorporate themselves into the individuals' personalities as well! After these teens were discovered, an entrepreneur in the showbiz thought it would make gold-quality entertainment for the nation's television. And thus, The Oakcrest House was born.

What is The Oakcrest House, you ask? Well, it's two things; first, it's a big, fantasy-like house that floats on an island miles above the land over an unknown location on the earth below. Nobody is sure how it floats there, but it does. It's part of the magic, so don't question it. Secondly, it's a popular reality TV show that thousands of people tune into every week to get their dose of the latest on how the eight quirky teens are coping in living in this levitating house for a year together. Little did you know that while you've been reading this, we noticed you also have one of the Essences in you! So, I'm just gonna need you to fill out one of these forms real quick, and then we'll get you right on over to the Oakcrest House; I hope you come prepared, this is gonna be your home for the next 12 months... and it's sure to be a bumpy (albeit humorous) ride!

*MORE ESSENCES HAVE RECENTLY BEEN DISCOVERED! SEE BELOW TO VIEW THE "NEW" ESSENCES (THAT IS, ANY ESSENCES THAT ARE AMENDED TO THE ORIGINAL EIGHT) IN BOLD. THE SHOW PRODUCERS WILL BE BRINGING THESE NEW TEENAGERS TO THE HOUSE, POSTHASTE!!*

The Essences:

Force/Body - essence of the body and strength; you are super strong! this character should be strong. you could take it a step further and make him dumb too.
Mind - essence of the mind and of magic; you can make nearly anything happen using magical spells. this character should stand out as intelligent among the rest.
Spirit - essence of the spirit and of universal messages. your mind is like a radio tuned into the greater frequencies of existence that others cannot comprehend; in short, you're psychic! you can move things with your mind, you can communicate telepathically, you can peer into the future, and even sometimes manipulate others. this character should be eccentric and spiritual.
Love - essence of love.. what more is there to say? you can seduce anybody you want.. you are just THAT beautiful! something about your presence captivates others and makes them want to suddenly do anything for your approval. you can cause people to fall in love with you on command, but should they realize it isn't real, the spell will break. this character should be attractive but superficial and manipulative.
Sun - essence of the sun and of light. you are mister (or miss, we dont judge!) sunshine, everyone just LOVES you! you are outgoing and friendly and can manipulate light. but you get tired during the night
Moon - essence of the moon and of moonlight; others call you gloomy and depressing, you just call yourself a realist. but it doesn't matter, because you can manipulate shadows and moonlight.. but you get really tired during the day. what a nightowl..
Earth - essence of earth; mother nature whacked you good with the beauty stick. you don't even need to try, you are just practically perfect in everything you do, by nature (of course). you could probably use an imagination though, as you have none. you can control plants, flowers, and the weather. should be materialistic, logical, and perfectionist.
Purity - essence of purity and diamond; your snobbish better-than-you attitude puts others off, but some people are attracted to it. you are indestructible. but at the same time, you can't fight for your life. your only offense is your defense, but other people tend to just "sedate" around you. your power is neutralization and purification: you can turn off other peoples' powers on command, you are impervious to the other essences' powers, and you can cause people to become suddenly peaceful and relaxed by willing it
Chi - essence of life. chi is that special energy that draws the divide between something that is alive and something that is dead. With manipulation over this essence, you can infuse things with chi, bringing alive dead people or inanimate objects, or infusing already alive people/objects with invigoration; or you can remove the chi from things, instantly killing someone or de-animating an animated object. (certain rules apply; you cannot kill one of the other essences. if you animate a dead person/animal, they WILL return as a zombie, and will gradually have to be fed more chi in order to become the way they once were in life) This character should be mysterious, intense, and dual-natured.
Space - essence of space. Space is everything around us.... and everything that isn't. with control of this essence, you can bring into manifestation, people, objects, ideas, or other entities that do not really exist, but can be quite convincing. Once somebody figures out your illusions, they do not go away, but they can see through them. Sort of like "double vision" (one sees the reality and one sees the illusion) This character should be deceptive, enjoy playing games with people, and attractive but ineffectual.

Tristan sat in the back seat of his cab, thinking about what the man from the show had told him only moments before. "Do NOT look out the windows until you arrive at the Oakcrest House!!" he had advised. Of course naturally, thinking of the man's quote provoked Tristan to look out the window. What a mistake that was. "Holy...... sh-" "You shouldn't have looked" he was interrupted by the mysterious cloaked man driving the cab. "That's the biggest mistake everyone makes. They look." Indeed, now Tristan understood why the man had told him not to look; they were miles above the earth, soaring through dark, rainy clouds. The sky around him was not beautiful and blue; not today. It was covered in a veil of a depressing gray color. He wondered how the cloaked man could even drive with the horrendous amount of rain that was soaking the windows. Tristan pulled out the diamond from his pocket and turned it over in his hands, examining it, before closing his eyes and meditating on it. He always carried around diamonds; they helped him to re-center himself. He had even seen a psychic many years ago that told him diamonds were his lucky stone. At the time, he would think "Great, my stone is almost impossibly expensive" but he didn't have to worry about that much longer as when he was 13 years old, a diamond mysteriously came into his possession. And yes, it was real; he had taken it to a jeweler to get it appraised. It had been worth roughly 3 million dollars, but he would never sell it. This stone held mystical properties to Tristan, whether real, or just in his head.

"We're here." he suddenly heard the cloaked driver say. "Oh.. that was relatively fast.. thank you mister, um..... what was your name?" Tristan asked as he grabbed his bags and was about to close the cab door. "I don't have one." the man replied, and immediately drove off into the sky with the door still open. "Wait!! I left the door open... oh well." Tristan looked around, it was still pouring rain, and it was extremely windy. He realized before long that he was standing on an island .... and island in the sky. Clouds blew at violent speeds all around the island, but strangely none seemed to actually come into contact with it. He was soaking wet by now, so as he turned to see the enormous house before him, which looked as if it were taken straight out of a fairytale, he ran up to the door and knocked on it, but nobody answered. He could hear his loud knocks on the wooden door echoing throughout the halls within. He tried turning the handle, and much to his surprise, it was unlocked. He took the liberty of letting himself in, concerned about getting the delicate wooden floors all wet from his shoes and dripping clothes. "Hello!?" he called out. His voice echoed through the house and back to him again. Clearly nobody was here yet. "Huh, I thought the guy said I'd be staying with 7 other people.. I guess they haven't showed up yet." he said to himself.

He looked around for a moment, taking in the spectacular ambiance of the house. It really did look straight out of a fairytale. The decor was so quaint and otherworldly looking. It almost looked magical. The rugs were rich and ornate, and the lights were old fashioned oil lamps that made for dim, but very attractive lighting. He looked over to his left and suddenly noticed a message board on the wall; taped to it was a single piece of paper that read in large letters at the top "Dear Tristan,". Clearly realizing it was for him, he pulled it from the tack that held it there and read it.

"Welcome to the Oakcrest House!
We sincerely hope you will enjoy your stay.
Please make yourself at home, and be sure to check upstairs for your assigned room.
You will find it has been fully furnished to your personal liking.
Good luck!

~The Team at Oakcrest."

"Um, okay then.." before he bothered to go up looking for his room, he set down his bags and headed straight for the kitchen. "I'm starving" he said to himself. "I hope there's at least food in the fridge..."

A petit woman with dark hair and olive skin decended the staircase in a long black dress. Livana was really hoping there would be some tea floating around. Her room upstairs was so lovely in the gloomy light of grey and silver that she wanted to make herself at home with a warm cup of good tea and one of her books. She hardly cared whether it was one she'd read before, but just something that felt right in the luminous glow.

She reached the bottom of the stairs and found an unattended bag sitting there. The girl looked about her, wondering whose it was. She knew she'd be sharing the house with seven others, but hadn't been thinking about their arrival just yet. "Hello?" She called, her voice a little thick. Livana wandered into the kitchen and found a man sifting through things to probably find some food. She waited quietly until she thought there was an opening for conversation. "Hello? Does the bag in the hall belong to you?"

Ellie burst through the front door and grinned. "Hello Everyone! I'm Ellie Peterson! It's nice to..." She paused in her loud introduction seeing that there only stood one girl in front of her. "Oh. Hey! Where is everyone?" She bounced over to the girl her luggage hung on her shoulders. The girl looked slightly dark and mysterious with the dark colors surrounding her. "I guess everyone isn't here. I'll go upstairs thanks!" She laughed and ran upstairs not even aware that she hadn't heard the reply from the girl. She opened her door peeking in slowly. "This really is a big house."

Her room was dark and organized. Ellie walked over to the large windows peering out at the gloomy rain and darkness. She really wanted to know how it felt to feel the sunshine standing here looking out over the land and below. She touched the window then let out a sigh as it felt cold on her warm fingertips. "That sucks. I wonder when it's going to get warm and sunny outside." Ellie murmured. She packed up her things quickly then headed back downstairs.

She stopped on the steps and waved. "I'm back again. Thanks for waiting." She had put on her jeans with a nice warm sky blue sweater that brought out her blue eyes and blonde hair. She smiled and walked the rest of the way down. She took a seat in a chair and crossed her legs feeling a bit happier to be around the others. She noticed one other guy in the kitchen and hoped the rest would arrive safely.

"I DEMAND YOU TELL ME WHERE THE HELL YOU'RE TAKING ME THIS INSTANT," yapped Saizo from the backseat of a stecth hummer limousine, his voice full of anger, "I am SUPPOSED to meet a girl for dinner, and then I get DRAGGED OFF AGAINST MY OWN HUMAN WILL by a bunch of hulking imbeciles." Saizo sat in his seat, wearing a white long-sleeved dress shirt, a pair of black dress pants, a pair of faux leather shoes, and a red rose which sat within the breast pocket of his white dress shirt, and letting his anger settle. For the last few weeks, Saizo has been on a streak of terrible events, and this date could have been an escape from this unlucky streak, until now.

The window to the driver's side slowly lowered, and the driver looked back at Saizo with an irritated look upon his aged face. The man looked to be in his mid fourties, or early fifties, with silvery-gray hair, a small amount of facial wrinkles, and a large nose. He then said, "Kid, can you just shut the hell up and let me drive?" He then turned his his head back towards the road ahead of him. Then, Saizo finally saw it. There was no road ahead of them, and they were flying through the air, a large floating house just a couple miles away. Saizo held in his suprise and just wondered for the rest of the ride what the place would be like.

Saizo looked at a small card that he found the other day, and then stuck in his back pocket. It read, "Hello Saizo, you are going to be spending a year in a house with seven other people you don't know. Have fun with that, kid. P.S. Don't get yourself killed. Sincerely, The Team at Oakcrest." Saizo felt enraged that they gave him such short notice, but as long as he was there, might as well make a few friends.

The limo pulled up to the island in the sky, and the door miraculously opened itself. Saizo stepped out and felt water fall on him from the storm around him, holding in his reaction. He looked to his side and saw his belongings next to him: a case with his guitar inside, another case case with his electric piano and equipment, another case with his microphone, amp, and stand, and a suitcase with his personal belongings. He picked up all of his stuff and briskly walked towards the house to escape the wetness of the outdoor area around him, and slipped casually inside the house.

He dropped his stuff nearby the front door to get later, and walked towards a random room, stopping at the foot of some stairs for a blonde haired girl, whom looked rather young, and said, "Hey there, I'm Saizo. I certainly don't mean to be rude, but I'm just going to go and introduce myself to anyone else here." With that, Saizo strolled into the kitchen where he saw a dark, haired woman standing with her back facing him, and a white haired male not far off. Saizo quickly put on his charming smirk, one which seemed to have a strong grip over anyone who saw it, and walked up behind the dark haired woman, saying, "Hey there beautiful, the name's Saizo, and its a pleasure to meet you."

Tristan had been rummaging through the fridge (which was surprisingly loaded with a lot of his favorite foods) but before he could even decide on a snack, it seemed people had already started barging in the house one after the other. First came a tall, gloomy yet strangely magnetic woman, who nearly frightened Tristan to death when she asked "Hello, does the bag in the hallway belong to you?" He jumped and hit his head hard on the fridge. "OW!!" he whispered to himself, backing his head out of the fridge and rubbing it, but trying to seem nonchalant about being startled. "Oh, hello there.. yes, that's my bag. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be untidy or anything, I was just looking for something to eat.. I didn't know anybody was here yet." Just then, the door opened up and a very energetic yet cheery girl ran upstairs and ran back down, her clothes changed in a matter of seconds. She sat down and stayed quiet, but she continued to smile and wag her feet back and forth. "Um, hello...." Tristan said a bit awkwardly. This certainly was an interesting bunch, even though there were only two who showed up so far. In fact, Tristan had made the silent observation that these two girls could easily be called polar opposites, one so dark and sultry and the other bright and cheery.

Then Tristan had remembered his manners, and how he hadn't even introduced himself yet (although neither had they, but he didn't mind making the first move) "I'm Tristan by the way.. what are your names?" Shortly after the door opened yet again, revealing a boy in fancy dress clothes with a lot of heavy looking musical equipment. He felt obligated to go over and help him with his belongings but he didn't want to be rude to the girls. He walked into the kitchen before deciding to take his bags up to his room like Tristan and introduced himself to the dark girl as if he were trying to pick her up. That put him off slightly, as it seemed a bit forward and rude, but the boy's aura was strong enough to win over Tristan's more cynical thoughts. He couldn't help but notice how rather charming and attractive the boy was. "Why exactly are we being forced to stay in this house together...? Has anyone gathered any info regarding that yet?"

There were the wonderful vibrations of motion, again. Annette opened her eyes and stared at the door of her bedroom. A small smile crept its way onto her face, the others were finally here. She stood up from her bed and stretched, running a hand through her white-blonde hair. While she did so, her room appeared to tidy itself up. Not that it was messy, but the bed flattened its own comforter after she wrinkled it by sitting. Annette walked over to her door and, without touching it, it opened for her. She stepped out into the hallway. The door closed behind her, and she locked it from the inside.

"Well, well, well, look at who decided to come out of the bat cave." Came a voice behind her. Annette spun around, but she sensed his presence before he thought she did. Instead of replying, Annette simply looked over her shoulder, gave him a quick once-over, then continued walking forward. "Going down to meet the newbies, huh? Are you going to scare them away with your spooky ghost stories?" He continued to taunt her. She stepped down the stairs, and mentally lifted the rug he was standing on, making him almost lose balance and fall down the stairs. Unfortunately for Annette, Jason caught himself.

"No, Jason." Annette muttered, frustrated. "First, they aren't stories, you just can't detect them because you're limited by your humanoid observation skills. People have died in here, you just don't know it because you can't feel them..." Jason leaned against the wall, listening to her without his ears. You need to watch yourself, Jason. Keep up that kind of behavior and it will come back to haunt you. The words burned in his mind, he saw her lips babbling on and on about the haunted state of the mansion and paranormal bullshit he generally did not care about, but those words, he knew all too well came from her mind. To make it worse, he knew exactly what she was talking about. He knew Annette, though, and he knew that she, or at least some part of her, did not mind being admired the way he was admiring her.

Annette began to walk down the stairs, heading towards the kitchen where she was listening to someone ask about the reasoning for them having to stay in the house. "Actually," She stated, walking in the kitchen for the first time, "We don't know why we're here. From what I've been able to tell, it's a social experiment. Lock a certain amount of people in one place with limited resources for a specific, elongated amount of time and see how it unfolds." That was what she gathered from the ghosts, at least. Since she had been here two whole days before the rest of them arrived, and one whole day before Jason arrived. "I'm Annette, by the way." Her eyes wandered over all of the people who, she presumed, would be her room-mates for the next couple of months or so. It would be a long time, she wasn't sure how she knew, but she knew.

Just then, one of her visions was starting to come in. Her eyes fluttered, she saw nothing but white, and then Annette lost her balance and fell over, hitting the counter and then the wall and finally the floor.

As the blonde girl ran up the stairs, Livana turned again to Tristan and smiled slyly. Before she could say anything, two other people emerged. "I didn't mean to frighten you Tristan, but it seems someone opened the floodgates." She gestured to the fresh crowd of people around the door. "And, hello Saizo." Her reply to the charming man was dry, like toast without jam. The giddy blonde bothered her a little, but she supposed she was just excited to see more people.

Annette entered and she looked her over, quickly turning her eyes to the man behind her. Already Livana felt a little crowded in. Admittedly, she didn't know why they were here either, but she felt it had something to do with her abilities. Dis these other people have similar skills? She knew she would have to be careful, if it were only she who could bend shadow and the light of the moon, than things would become very difficult for her locked in a house with people who feared or rejected her. In honestly, this was the same situation she found herself in with her family. Her abilities hadn't done anything for her yet, or if they had it was little noticed, but she knew her family wouldn't be quick to understand.

Ellie smiled introducing herself to each person that came to a stop near her. She hadn't quite liked the attractive boy's reply. "Hey there, I'm Saizo. I certainly don't mean to be rude, but I'm just going to go and introduce myself to anyone else here." When she had heard that she hadn't even begun her own reply before he walked off. She peeked around the corner watching him talk to the mysterious girl who liked dark colors. She felt a bit hurt but she figured she would get over it soon enough. She turned to look at the boy who had come out from the kitchen.

"I'm Tristan by the way.. what are your names?"

She smiled feeling better and bounced down from the stairs to halt a few feet in front of him. She held out her hand to shake his. "I'm Ellie Peterson! You can call me anything you want really. Most call me Smiley because I'm always so happy and fun to be around. I hope to become good friends with you." She shook his hand them chuckled and stepped back to look up the stairs having heard footsteps.

She watched the girl come down , explaining something to Tristan's question and scan the crowd. "I'm Annette, by the way." Ellie was about to say hello in return when the girl fell over. "Ah. Oh dear! Don't die on me! We just met Annette!" Ellie ran over and leaned by the girl checking her pulse. She sighed relieved. "She might be a bit beaten up and sore but she's still alive! Thank goodness." Ellie moved the girls to a laying position and reached inside her pocket. She pulled out a small bit of perfume and waved it over the girl's nose hoping to wake her with the strong scent.

Livana stepped out of the little cluster of people around the kitchen door and knelt over the girl who'd fainted She held the girls wrist a moment, until she was certain the girl was in no immediate danger. "It must be a dizzy spell." She muttered her conclusion toward the girl on the floor, hoping that she wasn't wrong. She checked her out a little further which only seemed to indicate a faint. "Oh, I'm Livana. I apologize for not introducing myself earlier.

Saizo turned his head towards the sound of a young woman's voice, and then felt his heart skip a beat at the sight of her. His golden eyes were fixated upon her pretty face as she walked past. Right as she introduced herself as Annete, Saizo quickly slipped out of the room, snatched up his suitcases, and bolted upstairs in a heart beat, ripping open the elegant door to his room. Quickly, he escaped into the confines of his room and slammed the door shut behind him, panting, racing to a mirror and checking himself.

"What was that, Saizo," he muttered into the mirror, "What was that feeling that overtook me, just then?" He gripped the area of his heart with great force, panting like a dog. Could it have been the feeling of love that women had described to him, Saizo thought, If it is, then what am I to do? Saizo, calm yourself, you've been in worser situations than this. Act Natural. Saizo quickly regulated his breathing, fixed up a messy part of his ocean blue hair, and left his room, walking back to the kitchen briskly.

He did not fail to notice the young man who bolted out of the kitchen with that look. It made Jason curious, but not curious enough. He also did not fail to notice the young man's return. Jason looked down at the girl testing Annette's pulse and trying to wake her, and shook his head pathetically. "It's normal." He commented. "She'll wake up in a few seconds and then rush off to do something. Then she'll come back like nothing happened." He leaned against the wall and crossed his arms, watching her lie helplessly on the floor. Annette turned her head and frowned in her state. "Ah, yes, here it comes." Jason gave a sarcastic grin, not taking his eyes off of her.

Suddenly, Annette sat up with wide eyes that were a little pink, looking around the room, at all of the people. "Saizo," She muttered. She saw him standing in front of the window, just like in her vision. She quickly got onto her feet and side-tackled him out from in front of the window, just a second before a rock came in and shattered it. Glass flew all over the kitchen. She landed on top of him on the floor, and quickly rolled off. "Shit." She cursed under her breath. There was no way she could fix the window with all these people here. And how was she supposed to explain saving his life? She saw the fist-sized rock hit the house, which, by the way, is floating. "Must have been a well-aimed asteroid." She muttered passively. "Good thing I saw it, it was going to burst your head into a million little pieces!" And then she'd have another ghost to deal with.

"Sorry if I scared you. It's kinda a ... thing with me. I guess you could say I am partially epileptic. Or something." Annette apologized to the girls who had been standing near her when she fell.

"Or something." Jason commented under his breath.

"Oh shut up, like you're any more normal than I am!" Annette snapped at him. "I've only been in this house with you for less than twenty-four hours and I'm already ready to kill you, but then you'd just haunt me so it would be pointless!"

"PMS much?" He smiled at her.

Annette quit talking and just glared at him. Jason barely flinched, she was screaming into his mind. When he moved out of his comfortable position and removed himself from the room to go upstairs or whatever, she turned back to the rest of the group. "I'm sorry, we don't get along. At all. Anyways, I guess the cat's out of the bag." Expecting them to have already figured things out, Annette picked up all of the shards of glass that had shattered and levitated them back into place, restoring the window and sealing it, though some of the larger cracks remained.

"Well, we know why we're here now." Livana concluded aloud and waved her hand over the thin, fuzzy shadow beneath her cast by the light in the kitchen. It remained immaterial, but formed into a ball above the space where her hand was. It was as though she were holding a ball in her hand that cast a shadow on the wall beside her. However, her own shadow was gone.

"It's not a very good example of shadow control, but the light in here doesn't leave much to contrast. I also have this ability in terms of moonlight, which is why you won't see me much in the day." Her lips curved into a tiny grin. "kind of a night-owl. But I am looking forward to discovering your abilities as well." With that, she stepped into the kitchen and filled up the kettle with water and placed it on the stove. "Would anyone else like tea?" She asked.

"Oh ..... well I guess that just about explains it, then." Tristan replied after witnessing the entire commotion of Annette's psychic vision (it was pretty obvious) and then she telekinetically repaired the window. He could tell that Annette and the other guy, Jason, had serious issues getting along. Although, Tristan didn't personally see anything wrong with him. He also took an immediate liking to Ellie, who had been the most warm and friendly out of everyone, directly introducing herself to Tristan with full enthusiasm. Tristan thought of the diamond in his pocket; he compared this girl to the bright light of the sun, and if she were the sun, then she would make his diamonds shine and sparkle with brilliance. Of course, it was all just a metaphor, basically what he was thinking was that they would get along fairly well. "So you guys all have special powers then... I sort of have powers too, but.. it's hard to explain." he took a moment to think. He poked Livana's shadow ball, his finger feeling slightly cool and tingly as it passed through it. "I mean, that's a lot cooler than anything I can do. Mostly, people tend to just get really "calm" around me. What do I mean by that...." Tristan would be learning the full extent of his powers in this house, he just did not know it yet. His powers were naturally based around the 7 other powers of the Essences, and thus had only minor effect on regular people.

"I guess what I mean to say is, when people are arguing, and I'm caught up in the middle of it, and I just want them to be quiet... somehow, I make it happen." Tristan's mind wandered to his bags, and how he hadn't even taken them up to his room yet. Then it wandered to his stomach; he still hadn't found anything to eat. He heard a mention of tea. "Oh yes please" he eagerly turned to Livana. "I love tea. Is there any chamomile?"

Annette looked up at Tristan as he spoke, and felt oddly drawn to him. He reminded her of an angel, which intrigued her. At the mention of tea, though, she grabbed the coffee pot that was sitting in the brewer, and grabbed an empty mug that had been on the counter. She filled it for the third time that day, with just a little bit of sugar and no cream.

Jason returned to the group, only giving a passive glare to Annette, but not wanting to cause any more trouble. "Hey, whose-ever bags those are, I can take them upstairs for you, no sweat." He was hoping they belonged to one of the ladies, especially that one in all the black, so he wandered over to where she was standing and leaned against the wall, "I'm Jason, the strongest person you'll ever meet." Though it was not evident through his sturdy-but-lanky build.

"So," Annette turned around and rested against the counter, "Where's every body from?" She loved social events, and that was what this was starting to feel like to her. Every one gathered in one place with the basic comfort of warm caffeine. "I'm from western Wisconsin." She started, "Well, I grew up there, anyway."

Saizo strolled back into the kitchen and leaned against the counter with the special charming smirk on his face, right before Annete began questioning people. As she asked where everyone was from, he said, "I hail from Kyoto, but I travel a lot, so I have no true home right now at least." Saizo reached into his pocket, feeling around for a cell phone which was vibrating, and flipped it open right as it came to eye level, and read a text which said, "Where are you? U said you'd be here twenty minutes ago!" Saizo closed his phone up and jammed it back inside his pocket, and looked back up at Annete.

"I'm originally from Alaska, but my father is from Russia and my mother was a native." Livana explained. She supposed that it sounded odd to say that her mother was native without explaining wherefrom. But she hoped that from the context people would just gather that she was alaskan. "We apologize for Palin, she wasn't my idea."

The kettle popped and began to wistle Livana took it from one burner and set it on the other From the same cabinet as Annette, she drew down an empty hunter-green teacup. She loved the color and examined it a moment before withdrawing a little pouch from her pocket and opened it. A few teabags were crammed inside and she put one in her cup, leaving the bag for any who might wish to share.

"Actually, they're mine." Tristan added , responding to Jason's question about the bags. He was rummaging through the cabinets; there had to be chamomile in here somewhere. This house was stocked with everything.. no exaggeration. "Ah, there it is" Tristan muttered to himself grabbing the teabag. He slipped it into the hot water and let it steep before doctoring it up. "So where is everybody from?" Annette asked. She explained that she was from Wisconsin. "Oh, you're Wisconsinian huh? ...Wisconsinese... Wisconsonite .... what do I call you?" he tried to hold back his giggling. "I'm from Seattle, Washington. So, really I'm perfectly comfortable with this weather." just as he said that, a loud crack of thunder and a bright blue flash of lightning flickered in the windows. It was already getting dark; it was darker than when Tristan got here for sure. "Looks like I'm gonna sleep well tonight, if this storm keeps up. I wonder what kind of activities there are to do in this house? Maybe we could all have a movie night in the living room to get to know each other? Oh, I should probably settle my things into my room first, though." he had completely forgotten about that. It seemed like that was the case every time Tristan traveled, be it hotel rooms or his relatives' houses.. he always forgot to unpack and settle in.

Some part of Annette felt bad for tackling Saizo, a bit afraid she had hurt him, though she knew it was to save his life and he would be in much more pain if she let him get hit. There was something odd about him as well. She knew Jason's ability was his strength, and she knew Livana had the shadow-thing, and she knew Tristan and his odd calming effect, but she didn't know Saizo's, and her gut was telling her to be weary. She watched him with interest as he pulled out his cell phone out and then jammed it back into his pocket. When he looked back at her, though, she turned her attention to Tristan, "Wisconsinites." She smiled at his confusion, most people had it. "But I prefer Annette."

She listened with genuine interest at his movie night idea for them all to get to know each other. Then she wondered if everyone else had a replica of their almost-dream room, complete with any items they wanted. Annette did, including her whole wish list of horror movies that focused around ghosts and paranormal activity. When she saw it on the bookshelf, she wanted to cry with happiness. "I think that's a great idea, but what are we going to watch?" She asked, running a hand through her silvery-blonde hair to fluff it up a bit and get it out of her face.

"Nah, come on, guys." Jason spoke up from the wall next to Livana. "If we're going to spend a night getting to know each other, it needs to be more interaction than just watching a movie. We need to play a game or something, like... Truth or Dare, or I Never or something."

Annette stood in silence for a moment before turning a little bit red and saying, "He kind of has a point."

"I agree with Annete," Saizo replied, aiming to tell the rest, "A movie would be a good idea, but I also agree with . . . . I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name." Saizo remembered how he brought his favorite movie Date Night Unrated, and that movie would be guarunteed to get laughs out of them, and then thought of the option of a game. That would be fun, and he would be able to interact with everyone at one time. Before the conversation got any further, Saizo said, "I think we should tell each other our names, just in case any of us missed introductions."

"Jason." Jason answered Saizo.

"You know my name," Annette looked at Saizo and grinned before taking another drink of her coffee. "I do think a game night would be best, for our first night together, at least."

"I have an idea! What if we watched a terrible movie?" Livana felt the twinge of excitement that flashed through her usually calm-water self. "Like Manos, Hands of Fate terrible. Then we could have a kind of... Rocky Horror Picture Show and interact that way?" She finished adding the sugar to her drink and stirred. Blowing the steam from the rim of the cup, she noticed her ball of shadow was still accumulated together and growing more ad more dense as the sun set. She smiled a little and waved her hand to disperse it. As she did so, it reformed to her as though it had never left.

The color suddenly drained from Annette's face at the mention of one of the most interesting movies she knew be called 'terrible'. Admittedly, the story line was terrible, along with the acting and the graphics, but for someone who heard, saw and felt ghosts, the mystery about the ending was fascinating. She often wondered if ghosts could make themselves known like that just simply by choice. She drowned the awkwardness she felt with a gulp of scalding coffee. Annette thought, for a moment, about saying something about her preference for the movie, but then decided against it. She wanted these people to like her. Not think she was weird.

"I have both of those movies," She said without tone. "So we could do that if that's what the majority of people want to do."

Jason watched Livana in her excited state and couldn't help but smile. "You know, Annette loves that movie. She believes in ghosts."

Annette didn't say anything, and took another drink of coffee.

"Which movie?" Livana asked Annette. "I personally believe in spirits also... but I don't know which one is indicative of spiritual activity..." She trailed off, trying to recall which she might have been talking about.
(sorry this one is so short I promise the next one will be better.)

Saizo stood there silently, listening to the conversation between these two on horror movies, feeling the color slowly drip away from his face like a broken faucet. Saizo was an easy scare and hated horror movies ever since he was a child, due to watching Nightmare on Elm Street at the age of 5, and spent a good seven years with a night light and loss of sleep. He also saw Paranormal Activity 1 and 2 while on dates, which just worsened the fears he had as a young child. For some reason though, Saizo felt calm about this, and then scanned the room, knowing that one of these people were responsible for it, and then dropped the suspicion a second later.

(if we're going back and forth kinda, I don't mind shorter posts.)

Annette's eyes lit up with joy, "Manos: Hands of Fate heavily implies at paranormal activity. Well, not that as much as paganism, but it's all the same to me. Between all of the terrible editing, which, by the way, is one of the leading reasons I love it, it's one of the few paranormal movies that actually isn't edited and shows some proof of real ghosts." Annette wasn't quite ready to admit all of the fantastical things about her ability and whatnot, including her tendencies to actually see some of the ghosts.

She felt some negative energy coming from where Saizo was standing, so she turned to face him. "You don't like scary movies, do you?" She asked, with a gentle tone, as if she knew what he was thinking. Her dark eyes looked deep into his, trying to pick out his most dominant thoughts, but she was limited against reading minds.

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

Seriously, where the hell is everyone? Are we just gonna let this rp die? Oh hell no we aren't!

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

So... did everybody die or what?

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

You sure can! It's a LotR fan fic plot but now that he left I am kinda dying for people... roleplay/battle-for-rivendell/

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

Nah it's alright XD, yes our characters will have an interesting relattionship indeed... :D
What's this about about an important character leaving a roleplay? Sounds like he'll have to be killed off...DX

Can I check out this other roleplay?

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

You caught me in a snobby mood, Hells. I'm sorry for coming off meaner than I intended to.
Hey, with your character being the essence of space and one of mine being the essence of spirit, our characters will have an interesting relationship... XD We ought to plan something, we ought...

Anyways, welcome to the gang. I'll post later tonight, someone recently left one of my role plays and he had a really important character so now I have to kinda figure out what to do... And before I deal with that I have a pound of hw and laundry to put away (or else I face the terror of my bedroom not staying clean this week XD)

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

It's not a huge deal. We're all just meeting in the living room for truth or dare. Your character could just show up before the game starts.

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

D : Well that and the fact and that I had to study and write for my final exams, don't need to be such a jerk over it.

Think I'll go with the "Crap I'm late" role then

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

I didn't realize it was that energy expending to scroll down in the "My Role Plays" list to "The Oakcrest House" to look and see if your character name ever showed up under the Character list. Or even to click on the link that was right there to just take a five second glance in the "Characters" tab.

"Today" in RP time is really dedicated to people coming in and getting to know each other, so you can either play a "have been here but a loner and not socializing" role, where you just kinda introduce yourself at our little get-to-know-everybody gathering. Or you can play a "crap I'm late" role and just arrive at the house late and get Jason or Tristan or someone to help you with your bags and then come join the party.

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

I did, for about a week after I submitted my profile....then I went to other RP's : /

Uhmm, how would I write my introductory paragraph?

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

Just a side note, it's just as much your responsibility to check your character status. You aren't going to expect everyone to tell you when it's your turn to post, are you?

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

Okay I'm finally back from my slumber, I've been checking back in this RP for a week to see if my character made it...

Just a side note, if someone's accepted, PM them... I'll post a intro after I finish my english :P

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

Alright, we need to seriously start poking people or something... I'm not posting again until more people come along because lots have characters that still haven't even made an intro yet.

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

No worries, just get that homework done. RL is more important than IL.

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

Sorry I've been absent, school and stuff. I will be posting later tonight if I finish my homework at a decent hour.

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

Fyew, *wipes forehead* I thought I might've been playing Saizo WAAAAAAAY off from what you expected. I thought you would have expected a complete egomaniac or sxomething of the sort. Glad to know I'm doing it right. Ha ha. ^.^

Oh and Lol, ScarletPlague is crazy when having too much coffe.

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

LOL! That is *SO* funny because I thought I was playing Annette WAY how you weren't expecting her to be. But you know how characters sometimes turn out completely the opposite of what you intend? Jason is kind of doing that to me, he's a lot unpredictable. I wanted him to be dumb and a total badass, and he's turning out not THAT bad nor that stupid. Except around Annette. Of course, he lied to get Livana's sympathy, which was pretty bad, but kinda smart at the same time MWUHAHAHA *I had too much coffee*

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

Haha I love it, keep doing what you're doing!! You are playing your characters amazingly. Everyone is - you guys are totally on spot with the way I pictured them :D Annette is like .. perfect. So far the only person who's not particularly participating is Mind, and Sun hasn't responded in a while either. If I can find someone else to fill Mind's spot then yeah I'm just gonna do that. And if it comes to it, I'll replace Ellie too

EDIT: Nevermind!!!! Just saw Ellie's post, sorry ^_^

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

Thanks, Zen. I have a platinum account >.> lol use it for birthday parties of ALL kinds, even Halloween Parties (those play-lists are pretty intense) Anyways, on to business...

You should give the other players a PM-poke, it's getting a little bland with just three people involved in the RP. I feel bad for leaving Tristan without someone to interact with.

EDIT: Also, I hope I'm not offending you about the tour thing, you did not really give much description of the house (besides that it's a television set) so I'm just kind of taking this ghost-thing and running with it, since I haven't been scolded and no one else is offering any other house-related plot... But please do if you have one!

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

That's an awesome site haha, I'm gonna use that for me and my friends ^_~

Re: [OOC] The Oakcrest House

If we decide to play TorD while watching a movie or whatever, and you can't think of any to contribute: http://www.tordol.com (but it may close your page out, so you might want to open a new page or tab it.) Just set up the preferences (menu at the bottom) and then wait for it to take you back to the main page and then you can go through and find one that seems suitable.
