Description

Full Name: Erik Magnus Spaardam

Appearance:
Image
He is tall by European standards standing just shy of 6'3. His white-blonde hair, though common in Nordic countries makes him stand out in any other locale. He has delicate features and marble-white skin. From his time at sea, he has lost weight and nutrients giving him a gaunt appearance that could be remedied with good meals.

Nicknames: None

Age: 22

Role: Confused Foreigner

Personality: Warm and generous, a great heart and quick to laugh. Erik tends to have a child-like naivety to the world, thinking that most people have kind souls. He finds humour in the most dire of situations. Some find him aloof and unable to grow up. Erik at the very least is interesting and many call him a friend.

History: His father was a blacksmith by trade, who's business savvy turned a small country kiln and smelter into a bustling ring of arms deals and stolen goods. Weapons were traded for rum, which was traded for tobacco, which was traded for slaves to turn around and mine more iron. Erik did not have the stomach for such practices though he did reap the benefits of a good living, he felt empty. He found he had a talent for navigation, the stars always seemed to make sense to him. After studying in Germany for a year he came back to Copenhagen and worked for a cartographer. Feeling trapped only after a few months, he joined the army much like every other male in his family. He had always been adventurous. He swam in icy water as a child, hunted bears in his teens and when a scouting position came up assigned to a naval ship he joined. Erik was never good at making decisions.

Equipment: Travelling clothes, a small pouch of gold and silver, some books written in Italian, Greek, and Dutch, a naval hatchet and flintlock pistol with trappings (powder, wadding and balls)

Fears: The evil of the world rubbing off on him and becoming like his father.

Strengths: Sense of direction and balance, good hand-to-hand fighter, excellent swordsman.

Weaknesses: Too trusting, women, alcohol.

Secret that the Fortune teller knows: Killed his brother in a duel after his sister-in-law lied to him saying he abused her. She was left with the money and Erik was left with the shame.

Theme Song/Anything Extra: Look - Sebastien Tellier
