Edrick is short. Not 'short' short, but rather short for his age. He's 24 and stands at about 5' 7". Not exactly his ideal height, but there isn't really much of anything he can do about it, now is there? But that's not what really sticks out about him. The first thing everyone always remembers about him is his hair. His natural hair color is really, really bright blond (which probably explains why he has so many "duh" moments) but it was dyed black quite some time ago. Due to his hair growing out, it's now black with about an inch-tall stripe of blond running around his head. His hair is generally pulled back in a short ponytail. On the days that he feels lazy, though, he simply lets it fall down around his shoulders. And his second most dominate feature? His eyes. It's difficult to say exactly what color they are. Depending on the light, they could be blue, gray, or a mix between the two. No one can agree to what color his eyes are, only that they exist.
Edrick is German but he speaks English. It's not perfect and he has a rather heavy accent, but he's understandable. He has a warm smile and is the type of person that's hard to hate. He's rather difficult to forget, too. At least, his two most dominate traits are. It's rather difficult to forget someone with multi-colored hair and eyes that seem to change color. A T-shirt and loose jeans is Ed's favorite outfit. It's easy to throw on, easy to slip out of, and it's comfortable. What more could he want?
Ed is the quiet type, preferring to listen rather than talk. When he does talk, he never gives out any kind of information directly unless he feels like it or he's doing his job. He enjoys riddles, mind puzzles, word games, and other activities that exercise the brain. Because of this, he has the amazing ability to talk for hours without actually saying anything useful. No matter how much he prefers to listen, he still demands to be heard. He tends to speak his mind and often voices his thoughts out loud. This often gets him into trouble but it's a habit that he hasn't broken yet.
Violence is usually a last resort for solving a problem mainly because he's weak. Physically, Edrick is built to run and is quite good at any sport that involves running for long periods of time. He's not built for physical violence and would much rather avoid a fight if at all possible. He'll attack with words, prying out secrets or memories that can be used as a weapon, but when the words lead to blows, he tries to get away as fast as possible. Despite being quiet, Edrick does get angry quite easily. A careless comment can lead to a violent verbal thrashing from him before he insists on ignoring the person for as long as possible. However, no matter how angry he gets, it takes quite a lot to get him to attack another person physically.
As mentioned before, Ed likes to wear loose, comfortable clothing. His current outfit consists of a blue shirt with white lettering that reads "Listen, Not Speak" and a pair of loose jeans. He has black, Velcro sneakers and, as usual, white socks. He also has a pair of black, fingerless gloves which he got because the leather was soft. He enjoys wearing them despite not actually needing them for anything. He also wears glasses, being practically blind without them. Other various objects that Edrick likes to carry around with him are his wallet, his house keys, a lighter, and a pack of cigarettes (he doesn't smoke much, usually only when stressed). Those are his "must have" items that he never goes anywhere without.
Edrick didn't really have an extraordinary history. Certainly not the most interesting one. He was born and raised in Germany. His father was pure German while his mother was half German and half American. He didn't actually leave Germany until he was eighteen, when his mother demanded that he go to college in America. Once in America, he didn't really have any serious problems. He did his best to avoid trouble but trouble always seemed to find him. This led to him forming his habit of listening rather than talking, giving him a weapon that could be carried at all times. This way, if trouble found him, he could either run away or deal with it in his own way.
Finishing college at the age of 22, Ed then applied at Medical Academy.
