Introduction
"Fiar didn't know what he was doing. Ever since he had pacted with Diamenta, he was spiraling out of control. Why he chose to pact with a demon like Diamenta is beyond me, but he did. He suffered, more than any of us most likely. As each day passed he turned into himself, grew thinner, and his eyes became as wild as the feral dogs which hunt on the steppes. And then that day. That day where he heard, from some stranger or however he heard it, that his family was destroyed by that town's leader due to their inability to pay taxes. Fiar went into a rage. He didn't listen to us. He called that demon to him and they both went to have vengeance on that village. By the next day, the Town of Field was nothing but a sooty black spot on the land. The Knights came. They came and killed Fiar, and, along with him, Diamenta. We may be free of the demon's tarnished soul, but now the Knights are after us."
I suppose I understand why they are hunting us so, for we are of the pacted, a small group of humans who have forged strange and grotesque bonds with the strongest of beasts. With this comes immense strength, a strength which allows us to hold our own against a small army of knights. With this comes increased stamina and reflexes, taking us through the most horrendous of battles. With this comes the exile, us pacted who are no longer trusted by even our families, no longer considered human. With that comes the solitude and resilience we must bear. However, these pacts do not come quite as simple as that, the beast of the pact has a price, a most precious price. They may choose to take away our sight, our speech, our hearing. They may choose to demand our beauty, our wit, our intelligence. They may even choose to take from us our ability to eat, age, or love. It could be anything. So here we stand; scarred ghosts of our former selves, pacted with immense strength and capabilities yet stripped of what was most precious to us. We survive, yet that simple fact of survival is being threatened. Now we must fight against the Knights, and that is where I plead for your help. After all, without the assistance of the fellow pacted, all is lost.
Rules
-Refrain from using cliches. This roleplay requires creativity and twisting to remain interesting!
-Minimum post length of a paragraph. Also, be courteous to the fact that same don't want to read a wall of text about you examining your fingernail.
-Do not use a beast that another person has already claimed. Stretch yourself!
-Beasts, for that matter, are mythological creatures and inhuman. (i.e. dragons, gryphons, phoenixes, basilisks, etc)
-For your pact price, be creative with it. I like to be mind blown. And don't use the same thing someone else has, this should be unique!
-Pertain to the times of the world (i.e. medieval)

OOC Notes
----------
Two pointed ears spike out from the boggy water of the stagnant pond, accompanied by a flat, grimy head and two bulging, rheumy whitened eyes. It would have passed for some diseased crocodile if it had no ears...but alas it was none but Kier. The kelpie sunk deeper into the pond as daylight broke, sending bubbles to the surface with a 'blurp', chewing on some half rancid fish skin. Fish skin was no substitute for human flesh, but it would half to do in this isolated region. At least he hadn't had to have stooped to eating the crayfish yet! Those thin shelled, repulsive crustaceans gave him indigestion. Kier sighed again (blurp), fantasizing over some real meat. It had seemed ages since he had last seen a human soul beyond his own party, and the fae was growing bored.

Opening her eyes was no use, still there was nothing but darkness. She could feel her arm rise up, palm outstretched, but she could not see it. And never will again... Though, for some reason, one that she could not remember, she did not regret it. Once again, like every morning, almost like it was on a timer, a boys face flashed through her mind, one that she didn't remember....Why?

Noticing the girl move, Nova raised her head a bit and asked the girl how she slept. That was also not exactly the truth, as while the phoenix could communicate telepathically, it could only do so in images, feelings and associations, without actual words.
OOC Notes
Yashie yawned, rolling over onto his back. His eyes fluttered open and he sat up, rubbing a hand over his eyelids and then scratching his stubbled cheek. "Wha-?", he mumbled sleepily, drawing his tattered, grimy clothes closer around his chest as he moved to sit curled up in a ball against the cold that was pervading through the cold. He patted the CynoGriffin on the shoulder. "Not asleep yet? Something wrong?", Yashie asked in a voice that clearly bespoke of someone only recently awakened. He turned towards the dying embers and began blowing into them, trying to revive the fire once more, that he may thaw his chilled limbs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Asami glanced at the boy, looking away he answered, "I was asleep, you just don't care to notice. Not that that is a surpise or anything, you are quite oblivious of the world...or atleast what I have seen so far." His gaze flickered back to the mouth of the cave, the dark blue sky shown framed by the black rock. He made a sound of a snort.

ATTENTION!! Ahem...this roleplay will now begin! I am terribly sorry it has taken me so long to get this up and running, but it will be worth it!! I will set up an opening post explaining the current situation and then you may follow :). Just a reminder...these are our pact-partners:
Aribis (Kier)-RizzyRat (Angel)
Hydrokinesis (Eden)-Sench (Nova)
Hydrokinesis (Asami)-Yashie (Yashie)
If you would, please specify your pact partner somewhere in your character's history to avoid further confusion! Thank you all for your commitment!

Yashie wrote:When do we start? What are we waiting?
I haven't seen any changes in your or Hydro's characters that will relate their pasts. I want to make sure that is all sorted out before it is started.
Re: [OOC] The Pact
Hydrokinesis wrote:I could try and come up for a beast for him if you like.
That would be great, as I'm already halfway done with my human character. that way the people will be more even!

Yashie wrote:Could you please reserve a human male spot for me for 24 hours? I am willing to play both beast (a dragon, if not taken yet. I haven't checked yet) and human if necessary. I'll write a char-sheet in later but I need to be asleep now.
Thank you in advance.
That is fine, and a dragon would be great, we don't have one yet. Once you have your character in, I will shuffle the matchings up so you don't have to play your own partner.
@Everyone: The matchings will be changed, so disregard former post!

Thank you in advance.
Re: [OOC] The Pact
Kier is with Angel
Nova is with Eden
So please specify that they are your pact partner in your profile somewhere. I do not think i will put up a skeleton as it's complicated and I don't think it's entirely necessary for info.
And I am going to make a male human character to play who needs a partner if anyone would want to double up too, if not, I'll keep searching. That way, it adds more variety.

Oh, you did?
Ahah, I'm sorry! I'll get to it now, I had thought that it notified me through email whenever anything happened...let me go look!

Hydrokinesis wrote:I'm just curious to know as to when you're hoping to start this rp?
I'd love to start it now if I had enough people. As of now I need 2 beasts...it;s really quite frustrating. I've been bumping the recruit thread I made
I'm sorry it's taking so long

Sench wrote:I noticed your ad in the roleplayers wanted section.
Are there any guidelines for what sort of creatures you need in the game?
bestial, mythological. As in, no humanoid creatures. as an example, Kier (my beast) is a kelpie. So in that regard, dragons, gryphons, the like.
I hope thay helps c:

So am I. A friend of mine is making a character currently...otherwise we need two more, I believe...one perhaps, if I hear back from someone.
