Othuma

The God of Death

0 · 2,068 views · located in Creation

a character in “The Pantheon: Post Cataclysm”, as played by Seveneleven

Description

God Name: Othuma
Creed: "I am a perpetual force. I am always watching but never seen, I am always there but never in one place, I know of your health, flourishing or fleeting. You can never escape me, now matter how fast or how cunning. You will meet me, when you fall."
Title: The Specter, The Dead of Winter, Decay, The Harvester of Souls, The Chronicler, The Darkness, The Hallowed One.
Gender: Male
Alignment: Evil
God Appearance: The God of Death assumes numerous forms, for he is everywhere. Yet in the most personal of cases, he makes his appearance known in a few of his most favorite forms.
True Humanoid Appearance: Taking on the appearance of a bald, dark skinned humanoid. He wears a long, billowing hooded cloak, that is as dark as the night. Upon his face is a skeletal mask, which is actually apart of him, from where two dark, abyssal eyes peer back.

Image

True Creature Appearance: When assuming a more animalistic appearance, comes this. An odd amalgamation of a skeleton and a lizard, comes this predatory and menacing form. His speed is mentioned to be great in the form, as is his ferocity and blood lust.

Image

True God Appearance: A form unseen by most. A great pity should be felt for those who are unlucky enough to gaze upon the Death God's true appearance. For it is the last thing they shall ever see. While his power is great in his previous forms, his power is at it's optimal in this form. Such untold strength and destructive force, hasn't been seen since the days of Genocide and Malus.

Image

Personality: Othuma is a very curious being to say the least. While his ambition is clear, his being is not. Very much reserved and calculating, belies his often arrogant and theatrical appearance. He often acts very suave, cruel, and fiendishly deviant. And while his need to create flair, is more or less a ruse, to hide his more darker nature. A very methodical and cold individual, there is very much a method to his madness. He cares not for the lives harmed or lost in the process, all are merely pawns in his game. He cares not about the laws and order there are, between mortals or gods. Death, can never be controlled, it is a force of nature and can never be stopped. He does not relish in death, but merely embraces it and uses it as a mean to all ends. He is incredibly patient and fears little, as many fear him. His ambition however, is to become ruler of the gods and create an eternal state of death in the Middle Realm.

From an outside perspective, one could say Othuma, has been in place to fill the large hole left by gods before him. A deadly combination of the ambition of Genocide, the impalpable fear of Korterra, and the pure destructive force of Malus. (He doesn't actually take their spots or powers, just a description of him.) Able to shift in and out of shades of existence, create a chilling wind, or simply instill decay, are some of the formidable abilities of the God of Death. Othuma openly opposes the Sun and Preservation. In preference of the Night and Decay. His main enemy is Creation, Renewal.

Opinion of mortals: He really hasn't a bad opinions of mortals, after all they keep good business. Their continuous strife keep the death toll healthy and keeps his power at premium levels. He doesn't focus on causing more death to the mortals, but merely watches all until their times have come to it's conclusion.
God’s Domain: The Season of Winter is the Season of Othuma. All lands face the end of years and with it a deathly grasp that takes the life of nearly all plants and creatures that haven't the strength to survive.
God's territory: Far to the frozen wastes of the North. There life is little to none and where the nights can last for months.
Portfolios Governed: Death, Winter
Symbol(s): Scythe, Winter, Skulls, Bones, just some of the many of symbols that mortals associate with Othuma.

Equipment

The Scythe: Othuma's scythe is the very instrument that rips the soul from it's mortal bindings. Despite the ability to reap souls from the living, it cannot do so towards the immortal gods, but that doesn't mean they are safe. The Scythe is a very powerful and dangerous weapon and is known to cause great harm towards the gods. With the ability to cause continuous damage over time, it's no wonder the God of Death is a fearsome fighter indeed. The Scythe has two modes, Harvest Mode and Combat Mode.

Harvest Mode: The basic form of the Scythe and the source of it's soul ripping power. Not only can he harvest souls, he can also use the scythe to create portals for transport.

Combat Mode: An altered form of the Scythe. It's main purpose is for the combat of other immortals like him. Since the powers of Harvest Mode would do little to them, the Combat Mode provides much more better attributes geared towards godly conflicts. Othuma carries the Scythe in this form to face his kin in deadly combat.

The Armor of Death's Construction: As the name suggests, this is armor designed and made by Othuma himself. The armor is intricate and ornate, expressing both intimidation and outlandish themes. While he normally wears long, flowing robes and cloaks, he only dons the armor for combat purposes only.

Othuma

Finally...

With the completion of Cragin's constellation, visible over head, became a catalyst. Finally it was enough for his coming, the death of one so beloved, so cherished gave way for the birth of force so deadly, it threatens to consume all. The best of them dies and now the worst begins to live....

A divine spark made it's way far to the north, so far the Wilds can be seen as those turbulent clouds of darkness sit so foreboding. Threatening any who come near it. Staring at this perpetual abyss sat a Divine Seed, waiting so patiently to come into existence. The ebb and flow of the universe did center around the powers of life and death, as all experience these two things, at one point or another. The spark so did invade the seed as it gave it life and sprout forth would soon be a god of dark intent. The ice began to shake and crack as the wind began to howl so angrily at the event unfolding. Power began to sweep out of the cracks and evaporate into the air, such dark power would most certainly cause lesser beings to cower in fear.

Suddenly an explosion occurred one that would shake the very foundations of their world. Dark power would hardly go unnoticed to all and from the violent birth, spawned a new god. The God of Death.....

Afterwards the power subsided as Othuma stood floating above a crater. He stared at the world....there was nothing but ice and chaos from the Wilds. Othuma dared not venture towards the sounds of chaos coming from the warped Wilds. Instead Othuma turned his direction else where. Who was he? What was he? That sudden burst of power...so unshakable....could not be found from him. Othuma was noticeably weak, too weak for anyone to detect. At this point of time his power would seem equal to a mortal's. Othuma floated away from the crater, hovering ever so slightly off the icy ground. Othuma could not help but stare at his hands. It was nothing but white bones. Othuma was curious as to what he fully looks like. On his journey of self discovery, Othuma would aimlessly hover about the frozen wastes, becoming loss in the sea of white. Soon he would disappear from perception....as if he was dead.

Mathias

Mathias immediately jerked towards the north. Something wicked was born...and it made Mathias shutter. What just happened? A new god was born but what's surprising is that the amount of power felt, just suddenly vanishes...into thin air. It was as if a God was born and then inexplicably died. What a curious and disturbing matter indeed. Mathias would investigate but in the state he is now...he hasn't the strength to undertake such tasks. Throwing the balls of fire drained him more than he previously believed. He needs time to recuperate and he hoped that whatever was born would stay it's hand from destruction.

"Did the rest of you feel that just now?" Mathias asked in an obviously tired voice.

Othuma traveled for quite some time. He had no idea who he was or where he was going. Just wandering aimlessly amongst the frozen plains of the North. He would eventually come to the base of a great, glacial chasm. He then entered as the walls of ice began to surround him. While hovering Othuma noticed his reflection on the side of the wall. Othuma stared and saw he had a skull with horns for a head. The rest of his body was skeletal, yet not completely void of innards. What was most curious about his body was the shimmering orb in the middle of his chest. He had similar armbands made of those same orbs...then he decided to touch one. The orb glowed an eerie blue but besides the sudden increase in light it did nothing else.

Othuma stared long and hard at his complexion but soon the ice cracked and fragmented. This made Othuma jump back being startled by the event. Feeling there was nothing more to discover, he decided to leave the damaged wall. Further he traveled amongst the chasm until he came upon a hole in the wall, a cave. Othuma noticed it was high upon on the wall, a ledge jutted out from in front of it. He wanted to reach it but the height was too great. Then noticing his desire he began to levitate higher. Lifting off the ground and into the air he came face to face with the cave, and then he entered. Once inside Othuma found the cave some what deep and ventured forward. It seemed empty until the very end he came across, not one, not two, but three furry creatures. They were small and white, and had black noses. They yawned and made noises at Othuma.

The Death God felt a sensation of adoration for the little creatures and in his joy Othuma spoke for the first time. "How adorable!" Othuma's voice was haunting. It sounded hollowed and had the most ominous echo. It didn't sound natural...it truly was frightening to the creatures. The god did noticed their apparent trepidation of his voice and Othuma felt a new emotion...guilt. "No please!" "I meant no discomfort!" Othuma pleaded but it only served to frighten the furry creatures more. The three moved a little more deeper into the cave brushing up against the wall as to escape Othuma. He heard their cries and this made Othuma sad. In an effort to calm them he went to touch one of them. "Please let me help you." Othuma spoke but once he touched one of them, they died.

Othuma was shocked at how suddenly the furry creature dropped. Having no idea what he had done until an odd sight appeared before him. Departing from the small creature was a bright, hallowed light. This was the first time Othuma saw a soul. Othuma saw it floating before him and it's appearance was that of the creature at his feet. He didn't have any inkling as to what just happened but he felt happy. "I'm relieved your alright." Othuma spoke to it but the soul did nothing to respond. It merely began to cry more. He then went to comfort it when it shuttered. Othuma drew his hand back and before he knew it the soul disappeared. "Wait come back!" "I'm sorry!" Othuma cried but to no avail. The god then turned his attention to the others who were gathered around the dead body of their kin.

Othuma felt grief for them, even though the animals didn't seem to understand themselves. Othuma decided to touch another but this time he took a much more gentler and more slow approach. The little creature moved away from his hand and hid behind it's kin. "I just want to make things better." Othuma spoke but the creatures would not listen and continued to fear him. Just then another event occurred. The skeletal god then heard something approach the cave and at it's mouth was a much more larger version of what he just saw. The creature roared in agony as it sensed one of it's children was dead. The mother in her fury attacked Othuma, and Othuma was petrified of this occurrence. He tried to dodged but the mother attacked him and Othuma felt pain. Soon Othuma tripped and rolled out of the cave and the mother pounced. In an attempt to defend himself he placed his hands around the mother's fore paws to stop her claws from reaching him. Soon decay formed around her paws and up the leg and around the body. The Mother grew weak and sensing this Othuma let her go.

The Mother stumbled about and soon she died as well. The little ones then seemed to cry and then it happened. Like before another soul appeared before him. Othuma knew not what to do with it but instead of running away, this soul attacked him. Then once again he placed his hands on it to defend himself and soon he held the soul in place. The soul wriggled itself free and knocked Othuma down. It was furious and just when he felt in danger once more the beads glowed, Othuma raised his hand and magical energy covered the soul. The soul seemed to twist and turn and then is exploded. Othuma was shocked at the display of power as he stood up. Unsure of what to do next, he thought it best to leave. Leave what he decided to call...bears.

Othuma hovered away and found another cave, this one empty. The god sat down and began to contemplate what he had done. Othuma was confused what was he meant for in this world? Making things drop and have bright, images of their body come out? Othuma sat there as he noticed the weather outside, give way to a terrible blizzard.

Sairis yet again raised an eyebrow as Nylia spoke, the expression on her face trying to point out that she was saying was a blatant lie. 'I suppose the crystal can hear us, but if a chunk of crystal can hear us, why couldn't it see us?' He would've replied, but she suddenly turned to the crystal again. He supposed it was speaking to her. At that moment, the ground started to shake and heave, going from nothing to disastrous almost instantly. Though it soon settled, it would almost definitely have unsettled the land who knows how far around. He saw Nylia leaving in a hurry, but already wasn't paying any attention to her anymore. His eyes and mouth were widening as his face was slowly registering shock. He looked down at the ground, Barely able to believe what he felt.

"The planet, it's, ALIVE!" He could scarcely believe it, but the planet itself was remembering what Mathias had done. "No, not the planet, but damn near close. A god? An enormous one then." he continued, amazement still coloring his voice. He slowly shook his head, unsurprised that the world was still surprising him. With Nylia gone now, he found he didn't have anything to do. He decided that before anything else, he would find the god that had emerged in the north. If nothing else it would distract him. Though truthfully, the power had greatly unsettled him.

Walking over to the shadow of a nearby tree, and walked into the shade provided, disappearing from sight as he did so. He once again found himself in a place of existence where only darkness existed. Feeling rather unimaginative, he decided to simply refer to it as the Plane of Darkness. Simple and to the point, no need to over-complicate it as long as he knew what he was referring to. He reached out with his mind, feeling where this plane met with the physical at the point he wanted to be at. He soon located it, and passing through, he found himself in the shadow of a large glacier, far to the north. Shivering slightly as he drew his cloak around himself, he set off in the direction he had felt the power coming from. He soon found himself at the entrance to a cave. There was no doubt in his mind that the god he sensed was within.

"Hello?" he called out as he walked in, slowly and with his hand drifting back to clasp the hilt of his sword as he ran over several different similar memories he had so he'd know what to be prepared for. The power he sensed before was truly dreadful, so he wanted to be careful. The angle of the sun left light shining all over the cave, but there were still many shadows he could use to his advantage if needed. Personally, he hoped they weren't.

Jute
The hive mind that Jute had become was working on overdrive. Sacrifices had to be made. Fires needed to be started. Lies upon lies coursed through them as they began to work in unison yet for so many different goals. Jute was starting to wish that she had been born as the god of duplicity. She siphoned off enough power from the rest that she was at full capacity and the rest had enough of their own power. She would give this Nylia a fight. Jute wouldn’t back down. But, sacrifices had to be made. There were still four others, each with an agenda and minds of their own. She gave her orders and severed the bond between herself and the others. But first she made sure that they would keep their own bonds with each other.

The girl that had split from Laska had returned to her true form. She stood on cloven hooves, garbed only in golden and platinum jewelry. A single horn sprouted from the top of her head. Her skin had a purplish sheen to it and a long spiked tail curled itself over her shoulder. Snake tattoos spiraled around her arms and down her back through her tail. She grinned and showed off two very sharp and long fangs dripping with poison. “Come here Nylia. I can’t wait to finally meet you.”

The Crystal Heart

The connection was severed but the Crystal still felt Jute’s overwhelming presence. It knew that Nylia must have felt it as well because she was beginning to tense up. It continued to pull her towards her goal. It also continued to pour more greed into her. The Crystal could give her power. The Crystal would never betray her. The Crystal was hers to command.

Crysalis

The Sword stayed quiet through the proceedings. Silently fuming, it wondered what approach it would have to take to get through to Hanriot. It felt its power being siphoned and it felt the connection between it and Jute become severed but did nothing in response. Hanriot was its goal and Hanriot was all that the sword would focus upon. The god turned into a rat and chatted with other rats. It really was a rousing time altogether (massive sarcasm quotes.) After the proceedings it began sending a bit of its malice energy to Hanriot while still pretending to ignore him.

The Serpent

The Serpent eagerly disconnected from Jute. It slithered northwards at speeds other snakes could only wish for. The scent of evil was strong, but fading. It was as if the original burst of energy had only been an extreme signal for a tiny arrival. But as the cold blooded creature slithered through ice and snow, through crag and cavern, it began smelling something more delicious than the evil that had faded so fast. This land held death and decay at its strongest. It continued on its way until it came across the lair of a large furred creature. Two four legged animals were near the dead bodies of what must have been their mother. The Serpent devoured the living ones to replenish some of its lost energy. It wasn’t much but every little bit helped. Then it smelt it. Death. Its smell was so powerful it made even the snake retch. It moved slowly towards the smell. The creature that gave it off must have been powerful indeed. The Serpent rattled its tail to give off its location.

Laska

The connection severed, Laska felt free to do what she wished. She was ready to introduce herself to the gods that weren’t trying to kill her. Focusing on auras she scanned all of the gods she could. She thought about visiting Adarani and the electrical force near her. She focused on an interesting aura she had felt during the cataclysm. She grew wings again and flew towards the aura of Justice. There were several other beings nearby as well. She landed just outside the clearing and stayed out of direct sight, observing them while at the same time acting shy.

Othuma shifted out of sight within the shadows. For a while he had be experimenting with his powers and soon he was able to alter his form. While it wasn't perfect from the bears he found earlier, perhaps they won't find him so disgusting now. Before Othuma could go off and find more of the creatures an interesting sound came from the mouth of the cave. Hello, was the response. Walking on all fours Othuma kept to the shadows but two red eyes could be seen. He snorted. "Have you come to hurt me to?" Othuma's voice was gruff. "I was displeasing to the bears...I only wanted to be their friend." Othuma spoke as he spilled his regret. "I meant no trouble but I did something!" Othuma's voice boomed as if he roared. Othuma soon walked out of the shadows.

"Is my appearance displeasing to you too?" Othuma asked as he assumed the form of a bear. Albeit a very decayed bear. "You must look displeasing to the bears too, considering you have no fur." Othuma spoke in his low, gruff voice. Othuma awaited for the strange hooded man to speak to him. "Have you nothing more to say?" Othuma asked. Othuma heard a rattle what it was he did not know. Othuma wasn't sure but the sound didn't come from the man before him. Did it want to hurt him too?

The journey from Kalimdor had been long and arduous fraught with many dangers and perils. Durotan had taken the absence of inclement weather as a sign from Kalimdor himself that the Storm God was not angered by his seeking communion in his sisters graces. Now Durotan and his people marched across an expanse of grass lands. Large plains of a land he'd never seen were open to the Chieftain yet in the distance he could see the outcropping of a mountain base that had the shape of a crescent moon to it. It was then that the thundering of hooves could be heard. Durotan turned to see an entire regiment and armed and armored Centaur riding right for him and his kin. One look at the terse horsemen and Durotan could tell this was no welcoming party.

"MOVE! RUN TO THE MOUNTAINS!"

Durotan roared as his pilgrims began to sprint for their lives. Durotan only prayed that he what warriors he had would be enough to hold back the advancing creations of the now deceased elder strength god.

Meanwhile in Kalimdor Gromash Doomblade had set his sights on a creature his orcish eyes had never seen before. A massive beast, humanoid in appearance save for the giant size of the creature. It loomed over a river, dipping its gargantuan hands in the water looking for a meal as a lion sat at it's side as a dog would sit beside a man.

"Battle Master, what matter of creature is that?"

"By Ragnarok I do not now... but I intend to find out. With me my warriors!"

Grom barked as he began to march out to meet this creature.

While the Battle Master of the Orcish Horde charged out to meet the first giant he and his brethren had ever seen and while Durotan raced to protect his people from the advancing centaur the Queen Regent of the Valkyrie Republic sat on her throne finally alone in the room. The divine Goddess that had blessed her people with fertility had taken her leave along side the new God of servants. Shortly after her creator had vanished without a word. As was the way of the Gods, not for mortals to know their comings and goings but to honor them in their day to day lives and try to please them as they do their duty. Samara sat, her beautiful wings folded behind her couldn't help but shift in agitation. The Queen was not pleased. Some time ago a scout had brought her news of a force of Orcs numbering just over two hundred marching near the border. She had put her people on alert and her army was ready to meet the relatively small force. It wasn't until the secondary scout returned with news of the make up of the force did she stay her hand. Warriors yes but elderly also, and women and children also. What were those damned orcs up to? What trickery were they plotting? Yet something in her heart soothed the sting of hate and whispered doubts into her mind. Whispered that perhaps these orcs sought no ill will to her people. It was not like the horde to send their non combatants on long treks like this. It certainly wasn't like Grom at all. So to what end? What was their purpose? Time, and the grace of the Gods, would shed light on this mystery. For now she must look to her own borders, and her own duties. Almost reflexively Samara's hand went to her now living womb and caressed the growing life within her.

As Samara Siiverwing contemplated the meaning of this orc pilgrimage the creator of both species stood at the northern most edge of his territory. The storm God had felt the rumblings to the North, the whispers of a nameless threat. A darkness and a shadow had been growing in the north and this evil was getting more powerful by the day. Kalimdor's lightning radiating eyes looked out into the frozen wastes watching and waiting. Whatever evil was taking shape in the cold and snow it would be Kalimdor Menethil, God of War and Master of the Storms commanding his vast armies of seasoned warriors that would be the shield to all of Middle Realm. No help from his kin would be asked for. No allies would be needed. To engage the God of War in battle was to accept to defeat before ever drawing a sword.

Watching carefully, Sairis showed no reaction to the appearance of a decaying bear. He'd seen worse.

"No I don't want to hurt you, as far as I know I have no reason to, and so what if you did something wrong. Learn from it and move on." he said, crossing his arms as a faint tone of annoyance filtered into his voice. The bear gave off a rather disturbing feeling, but until given reason to do otherwise, he'd continue to treat it as he would anyone. "You appearance doesn't really matter to me, I don't think I'd like how bears look either so I don't mind, and finally, don't rush me. If you want to talk then I'll talk, just learn how to wait for a couple of seconds." then a sound of rattling came into the cave. Sairis turned around sharply, reaching out with his mind for what was there, but felt nothing. Reaching further, he felt memories of death. Of death caused by a skeletal figure, probably this new god based on what he was saying. Two somethings died a while ago. And two died recently.

"There's something here, and I don't think it's nice. It finished off the group that you accidentally made smaller. Except I don't that that it did it by accident if it can hide from me. It may be nothing, but stay wary. Odd things are becoming active in the world my friend. Although," he said with a slight laugh turning back to the bear, "I suppose either of us could qualify as odd things so perhaps I shouldn't be one to talk." he turned back towards the entrance, his brow furrowed in worry. He didn't like not knowing what may or may not be after him. First the crystal, then the earthquake, the undead bear over there, and now this stalking mystery. Odd things indeed.

Mathias

Mathias was content with the answer. While it still bothered him she would just go along and pick up something so special...he felt she would do right by it. Her name itself is something suggestive of what Cragin used to be. His concern was for the land and it's creatures. He always took to that concern with nobility and strength. Cragin is a god that should always be admired. Mathias looked at Mérida for a while and then gave a smile. She did seem to embody many of the same concepts as Cragin. Her willingness to defend the wilderness of the world and it's creatures. Certainly reminded him of his brother. It seemed more than a coincidence that Cragin would pass and another god of nature would assume his place. Mathias supposes he should feel comfortable that Cragin's name will live on, at least through her. Then she spoke of not being alone.

"Yes, I've sensed it for a while now." Mathias muttered as he looked around. Sensing the aura of towards the distance Mathias called out. "Hey!" "Who ever is over there show yourself!" "I know your there!" Mathias spoke. He wondered who was eavesdropping on them. All the while he can't shake the feeling he has felt that aura before.

Othuma

Othuma was dumbfounded by the fact this being found nothing wrong with him. He thought for certain he was disturbing to others. Othuma felt relaxed for once, knowing he isn't a displeasing sight to behold. If this being thought him well enough, then perhaps the bears will not be so afraid of him this time. The being then began to speak of something amongst them. Othuma wasn't sure what he was talking about. Finished off the group he made smaller? Not Nice? Odd Things? What odd things? He was odd?

"Your words are...confusing to I." "I know not what you mean of odd things." Othuma paused. "I'm not an odd thing, I'm a bear!" Othuma spoke out some what offended by his words. "At least I'm trying to be." Othuma spoke a bit of irritation in his voice. Still Othuma understood that there was something else there. Judging by how this being is reacting, it may be here to hurt him. Othuma the shyly stepped forward to him. "Do you think it will hurt me?" Othuma asked the shade of a being. "I was attacked for trying to be friendly...I'm afraid it might do the same, as I thought you would." Othuma spoke concerned about whatever is out there. Othuma waited to hear his response and this time he would not rush him.

Laska

The little goddess stepped from behind the trees, blushing awkwardly. "H-hello...I did not mean to spy on you. I just couldn't bring myself to greet you." She looked at all of the faces of those around her. "Filling Kreios with purity destroyed him, but nearly destroyed me as well. I'm sorry I couldn't have met you all sooner." She bowed on one knee at the other three gods. "I am Laska. I'm pleased to meet all of you."

The Serpent

A large boa constrictor, with a rattle on its tail, slithered out of the darkness and into the presence of the new god (the one that had tried to ruin Jute's plans before) and the creature of death. It stopped before it got too close and raised its head off of the ground. It sniffed the air. "It isss nissse to finally meet sssome creaturesss besssidesss the bearsss." The snake said flicking its tongue outward. "Though thisss one..." It said waving its head in the direction of Othuma, "Sssmellsss a lot like a bear asss well."

Mathias

Mathias saw Laska step from out of the trees. She timidly greeted them. She looked as if she did when he last met her, albeit seems some what weaker. Then she explained that filling Kreios with so much purity caused her sudden exhaustion. Mathias could relate, considering him using Justice's power like that. It made him very exhausted too but what Laska did...well Mathias could see why she left when she did. Mathias smiled and called out, "No need to be shy about things." "We mean no harm, just curious as to who was there." "It's a pleasure to meet you, I am Mathias." Mathias spoke as he made a bow in respect of his small kin. "It's always nice to meet another of my kin." Mathias spoke as he gave a warm smile.

"I'll admit I was curious as to why you left so suddenly, never got the chance to properly thank you for what you done during the Cataclysm." "If it wasn't for your actions we wouldn't be standing here right now." Mathias said as he gave a friendly chuckle. "So thank you for aiding us in our time of need." Mathias spoke with warm, kindheartedness.

Othuma

The God of Death saw the elongated creature slither up to them. It had an odd speech pattern as it put emphasis on it's S's. Still it did not bother Othuma, all he cared about was, is it hostile? Then it spoke of the bears and it perked Othuma's interest. "Oh you saw more bears?" "Cute creatures, when they are not enraged." Othuma speaking from experience. The creature then said Othuma smelled like a bear, this made him proud. "Oh you think so?" "Well I'm trying my best to look like a bear and I suppose smelling like one, means I'm on the right path." Othuma spoke, apparently flattered. The god at first worried this creature was hostile but, like the being before him, this creature didn't seem to seek harm to the god.

"I am curious." Othuma noticing it strange to find such people out here. "Since your not bears, just what are you people?" Othuma asked curious as to what they are. He awaited responses.

Sairis barely restrained raising an eyebrow at the new god saying he was a bear. If he thought he was a bear, might as well break it to him slowly. No need to treat him like he's a fool.

"Do you think it will hurt me?" as the god asked his question, Sairis felt some pity for him. He seemed to be no more than a frightened child. Though given how long he's probably been alive, that's not really too far off the mark. "I was attacked for trying to be friendly...I'm afraid it might do the same, as I thought you would." Sairis wasn't sure how to answer. Something was there, but was it dangerous to them? He couldn't be sure. About to try and answer, he was surprised when a creature suddenly slithered into sight.

As the thing spoke to them, Sairis felt himself getting annoyed. He was almost positive that this thing was responsible for the death of the two bears that were left after this newest god had met with them. Yet it spoke as if it had been getting along fabulously with them all day long. He almost managed to call the thing out on that, but the other god started to speak before he got a chance. Taking a deep breath at the thought of how many times he'd been cut-off today, he focused his attention on what the god was saying. Sairis let out a mental sigh as he heard him talk to the creature. He really liked those bears, damn it.

"Well first off, I'm what is known as a god. You are as well, which is how you were able to look like a bear just because you wanted to. As for the thing here, the only thing I know about it is that it almost definitely killed the two bears in the cave nearby here." speaking of which... Sairis turned to the creature, and made a great show of drawing his sword, stabbing it into the ground and leaning on it. Making sure the creature in front of him got a good eyeful of it. "Speaking of you, why don't you tell us what you are. Making sure of course that what you say doesn't get contradicted by your memories. After all, if that were to happen, I might need to find a more, ssslithery place to stab my sword into." he gave a small and polite smile to the creature, a cool frostiness in his voice, ignoring the twitch of pain in his head at the little voice yelling that he wasn't acting like a hero. Truthfully, the creature was shrouded by some force that was keeping him from completely reading it. So he might not be able to tell if it is contradicting it's memories when speaking. But the creature didn't need to know that he wasn't sure.

Jute

Nylia spared no time in trying to destroy her. Jute laughed as she approached. She raised her arms to defend against the blade but it turned towards her legs instead. The blade approached faster than she could block. The sword of Nylia slashed through the legs of Jute with barely any resistance. In fact, the only resistance that could be felt was air and as the blade contacted her flesh Jute seemed to vanish, disintegrating into nothing.

The real Jute walked up silently behind Nylia as she attacked. She grinned as the illusion began to dissipate and sent her sharpened tail, dripping with venom, directly towards Nylia's spine. The tail was traveling at intense speeds, it was completely silent as it cut through the air. Jute completely ignored the god Adarani as she approached. Her venom was malice incarnate. Not even Adarani could heal hatred.

The Serpent

The Serpent cocked its head at the god before it. As he drew the sword the snake hissed and reared back even farther, showing its large venomous fangs. "I meant you no harm and yet you ssseek to harm me." It looked at the decaying bear. "Isss that what happened to the bearsss you killed? The sssame problem happened to me. They attacked without provocation. I defended myssself and devoured them." Oh Sairis...The snake thought to itself. You are making an enemy of Jute. Do not think that you can cross me without getting your dues.

Laska

Laska stood. "Thank you Lord Mathias. Sir Keindra. Lady Merida. I'm pleased to meet you all." She let Merida walk away without any complaint. She turned to Mathias. "I did what I could. I'm glad that i was of assistance. I just wish i could have been born sooner."

Othuma felt greatly upset by what the shadow person implied. This small, lanky creature killed the other bears? They were small and cuddly, why would anyone do such things!? Othuma began to feel a new emotion...outrage. Yet, the creature then began to explain itself. Where the bears fearful of this creature's image as well? Othuma wasn't sure what bears could be afraid of, but the smalls did seem to be the most fearful. It would makes sense they would be scared, but attack? Only the big ones attack. Or perhaps it depends on the size of what they are afraid of. Othuma is much more bigger than the small ones, yet this creature looks to be some where around their size. Albeit longer. Perhaps the small ones attacked what they were scared off and this creature did defend itself. Othuma's rage then did diminish, not exactly sure if the creature is deserving of it. Othuma then looked to the shadow man.

Othuma wasn't sure but didn't exactly like the gesture of using the sword. It felt similar to when the bear attacked him with it's claws. Is that an instrument meant to hurt someone? Othuma then did speak out, "Um, are you sure that is necessary?" "The bears did attack me, so it's explanation makes sense." Othuma spoke as he looked at the being who called itself a god. If Othuma was a god too, was this creature a god as well? If what the shadow god said is true, then that means this creature could potentially be a god as well. Othuma then spoke his concern, "What if this is a god as well?" "Should you really treat another like you in such a manner?" "After all I looked more disturbing than this creature." Othuma spoke. If they were all gods, then why treated each one differently? Maybe it's because they all don't look the same. It could be the same way as with the bears. Too gods, certain images displeases them. Then as with the bear, the disturbance is so great they end up attacking each other. That or they threaten each other as of now.

If that is the truth then Othuma, will remember, not to take the form of this elongated creature before them. For some reason gods are disturbed by it. Perhaps the other gods will like bears as well. The shadow god doesn't seem to mind, and that means other gods will be fine too. So if Othuma meets another god, then always assume the form of this bear. It seems to be pleasing to their eyes.

Jute

She saw the elder goddess throw a weapon and stopped her deadly tail just in time for the sickle to fly past without harming her. She turned to glare at the new threat when lightning shot out of the sky. She jumped away to see a great hammer wielding god. He crackled with energy and Jute enjoyed seeing the malice in his gaze as he threatened her. Behind him was an interesting hodgepodge of dead and new wood. She heard it speak. So this is another god then. Interesting. So many of her brothers and sisters had come when she had intended to fight with Nylia on her own. At least alone she had a chance. But a fight of four on one would not go well in her favor, even in full capacity. She raised her hands in a gesture of surrender. "I know when I'm outnumbered. I retaliated to Nylia's anger and she obviously wants revenge. I didn't even have time to speak with you." She looked at the goddess of seduction and manipulation.

"Why exactly do you want revenge against me?"

Laska

"I am the goddess of Purity, of Innocence, and of Peace." Laska said in response to the other god. "I am happy to meet all of you. I have longed to meet all of you for so long. I-I just get so embarrassed whenever I try to speak with others." She blushed and turned her head so that they wouldn't see. Even while the cute smile played upon her face, malicious intent fumed within her. She hated all of them. She would see them burned and destroyed, but not yet. She needed time, needed to be clear of suspicions. She needed more allies and more power.

Crysalis

The sword had spent a while waiting for the malice to course its way into Hanriot. Why don't you want to kill anything? Isn't that what a weapon is made for?

The Serpent

The great snake nodded its head towards Othuma. "Yesss yesss, you underssstand. But not all deathsss need to be acidentsss. I mussst eat to survive and the bearsss provided nourishment for me asss well." It turned towards Sairis. "Isss thisss how you treat a fellow immortal? Did i threaten you?"

Acanthus

The god of magic turned towards the god of technology. "All of your mortals seem to be lifelike but also...synthetic. It is truly amazing how ingenuitive you are. After hearing the intricate nature of Artifice, I had an idea. Let us create mortals in our likenesses. Give me a machine, or many different machines, and I will give them magic unheard of in mortals. It would be a most amazing experiment, yes?" Acanthus grinned, and turned to the new god. He was so eager to create and he felt the rush of new power entering his veins. Something was changing him. He had begun to see the world in a new light and this change that was occuring in him also seemed to be changing the portfolios that he was connected with. The other gods had changed so quickly, had been given much power after the cataclysm. It would seem that he had not been skipped over, but instead was simply a late bloomer. The ever quickening time schedule had affected him greatly.

Sairis listened to all that the snake had to say, and stayed silent through all that the young god said as well. He was frustrated, but he really didn't have any proof that he creature before them was anything bad.

"No, I don't believe this creature is a god. You're young and likely have never felt anything but your own power, so allow me to demonstrate what the power of a god feels like." after Sairis said this, he let loose some of his true essence. As waves of power rolled forth from him, the shadows in the cave grew longer, darker, they began to move and waver of their own accord. The very light entering the cave became dimmer, less substantial, even starting to flicker, as darkness began to swallow it whole. With Sairis at the middle of it all, his cloak starting to billow without wind, seemingly reaching out to the shadows now covering the cave. Until all of a sudden he sealed away his power once more, and with a single flicker, light came back, and the darkness retreated. "This creature doesn't have that feeling of power. Though since it says it's immortal, and with so many things about this creature hidden from my sight, it very well may be a god despite that. Which brings me to the next point." at this, he raised his sword from the ground and, maintaining a reverse grip on the sword, knelt down to better look the creature in the eye. "Just what is it that makes you want to hide everything about you from me? For that matter, how can you hide things from me? If you truly have nothing to hide and mean us no harm, then allow me to see the memories of your mind. Why hide if you have nothing to hide?" he said with a challenge clear in the tone of his voice. He could feel the part of him that wasn't quite him yet not quite Kylian becoming outraged at his startling lack of faith in a 'person' he didn't even know. It wasn't the sign of a hero to go around accusing everyone of evil. He wouldn't let himself slip regardless. This creature was suspicious, so he would be suspicious.

The Serpent

Darkness began to pull in from all sides as the god Sairis unleashed his full potential. He began snuffing out all the light nearby as a show of power. The snake nearly laughed. Even in the dark, it could smell, it could hear. It did not need the light and it did not fear Sairis. It's cold, black eyes stared hungrily into the eyes of the god of shadows as he demanded to be let into the snake's memories. Jute would be a fool to let anyone into the inner mechanisms of her mind. So the snake said what it needed to say.

"I am the god of snakes. As sshould be obviouss. We are not exactly an open sspeciess. I remain hidden because that iss what I am. I cannot control that anymore than you can control your overly ssuspiciouss and angry manner. I am a predator, sso I eat. I am ssilent and deadly. I am hidden. It iss my nature. Ssurely the god of sshadowss can undersstand what it iss to be hidden. But," it said slowly cocking its head in what could only be described as a haughty manner, "What givess you the right to ssee into our memoriess? Why musst we bear oursselvess to you asss if we are your ssubjectss? Do you intend to rule over me or the bear?"

Othuma was, at the same time, greatly impressed and frightful of the the god's power. He never felt such power! How enthralling it is! At the same time this creeping darkness looked sinister and dangerous. Othuma worried the shadows meant to hurt him and it looked like a lot of them, compared to one bear. Then before Othuma got over anxious the shadows receded. If he had hands he would clap, but he was finding it hard to put his front paws together. So instead, "My that was fantastic!" Othuma said with revery. "It was both fearsome and awe inspiring!" Othuma spoke ecstatically. Then came more suspicion out of the shadow god. He was right, the creature didn't irradiate such power as that. Perhaps it isn't a god.

Then the shadow god got on a personal scale with the creature and seemed to challenge it's validity. Othuma was curious if the creature wasn't honest, he would have to see. Othuma listened to the creature and found out it was a snake, a God of Snakes. The death god was some what impressed with the title but wondered what it could do too. It seemed to give a compelling argument, well it would if Othuma even knew what a snake was. Well, if this is the God of Snakes then it must know everything there is to know. So The God of Death decided to take what the snake said at face value. Then he contemplated what the snake said next. "Subjects?" Othuma spoke in confusion. "What does it mean you want to rule over us?" Othuma asked. He doesn't know what he intends to do to us but for some reason, Othuma didn't like what it implied.

"As someone once heard Braun say, bullshit!" Sairis was outraged at what the snake god had said to him, he felt indignant, almost downright insulted. "The past and the past alone is absolute. The present is always shifting, always open to change through preconception, whims of those involved, even chance and any number of other things. How you or anyone acts has never been, isn't, nor will it ever be, set in stone. Only how you acted in the past. Your behavior in the present is always open to your own complete control." at this Sairis stood back up, open disgust for the creature in front of him showing on his face as he leaned back, colliding with the outline of a shadow to lean against it as he crossed his arms. "Finally speak your purpose creature. But know that I've reason to distrust you, so I won't trust you. But neither do I have any reason to attack you." 'Yet.' he added mentally, his suspicions of the creature remaining.

"And no, little bear," he said, turning to the young god. "I've no interest in ruling anything, but I can't trust something that specially works to hide itself from me."

Mathias

Mathias listened as Laska introduced herself as the Goddess of Innocence, Purity, and Peace. For some reason it made better sense on how Laska was able to kill Kreios. Purity was the opposite of Corruption and it must have been the introduction of this purity that eliminated the corruption of Kreios. Mathias the breathed a sigh of relax and then gave a small bow towards Laska. "As I said, we can't thank you enough for your actions." Mathias warmly spoke. He then heard Mérida voice here curiosity of Kreios. It would make sense that someone so young would be curious of their history and Mathias began to answer.

"Well you see Kreios was The God of Corruption." "He was a villain that caused much trouble for us before the Cataclysm, such a corrupting our creations without our consent." "Yet, the worse was to come when he lead the Chaos Beasts during the Cataclysm." "His forces killed many of our kin and it seemed we were doomed to follow." Mathias then paused as a pained expression came over his face as he remembered his kin. "It was truly awful indeed." Mathias paused again. "Then when all hope seemed loss, Laska here appeared, and with her powers of purity she destroyed the corruption of Kreios, effectively killing him." "Without Kreios, the beasts were scattered and if it was by here actions," Mathias pointed at Laska, "then Acanthus couldn't have been able to use the spell that would save the land you see here." Mathias spoke recounting his time when Kreios was alive.

"I hope that answers some of your questions." Mathias spoke as Keindra came forth. He spoke of a paper with instructions about creation. Him saying that almost made Mathias wished he had that when he made his creations. Speaking of which, he really needs to go fetch them from Paradise. They have spent too long up there. The land seemed tamed enough to have them returned, but he must find a spot suitable of course. Mathias listened to his conditions and nodded. "Why of course, I'd be happy to help." Mathias spoke. "Now my sisters, please excuse us." Mathias spoke as he gave a bow to both. Mathias waited to follow Keindra.

Othuma

Othuma was definitely take aback by the sudden anger of the shadow god. He did not know what the snake said to upset him greatly, but Othuma tried his best to remember the words so he would avoid saying them. It seemed there can be a whole lot that can disturb a god. Looking like a snake, talking about ruling, and hiding things. The Death God made mental notes to make sure he would avoid these things, so that another god won't attack him. Judging by the power released from the shadow god, if he does those things to upset another, then they can do more to hurt him than the bear ever could. The young god merely nodded at Sairis' words. He could only guess he doesn't wish to rule them and only wants this...trust? Or at least he wants it from the snake. Othuma was unsure of what to say as he only stood there and watch the events unfold.

Jute

The goddess wrapped her wings about herself and fell backwards, deftly putting herself out of the way of both the upwards swung sword and the unseen knee. She flipped in the air, stabbed upwards at Nylia with her deadly tail, unfurled her wings and began flying in the opposite direction of where Nylia had been. She spoke even as she tried to run and fight. "Too bad, my main goal was to destroy the chaos beasts after I had finished with this uppity bitch." She said to the twin deities. "You all think you're so good, but you'll never change. Just beat up anyone who has different plans than you. Mortals are mortals, so what they die? Create more. This is survival of the fittest. If those other gods had been smarter or more powerful, the only thing that would've died would have been Kreios. But no, blame someone else for your own failures." She continued sprouting insults, pushing at all of their buttons, while at the same time trying to run for her life. "Look at me, I'm fighting for my life. You want to put me down like a dog, you think I'm crazy, but you hide the truth from yourselves. The only one with any sense is me. I fight for me. I don't fight for a cause, I don't even care if you die. All I care about is my own survival." It hadn't been her plan to go on for this long. Death was surely inevitable. But inevitable didn't have to mean just now.

Laska

She smiled sweetly at the servant god and nodded politely. "I'm glad to have found at least one friend. Though I wish I could find someone like me." She watched as he turned away to speak with Mathias. Then she turned towards the other female goddess. "That was pretty, what you did with the ashes. I'm sorry that your friend died." She looked up at Merida. "What will you do next?"

Laska felt the Serpent press upon her consciousness. There iss a god of meroriess. You musst forget and replace what you know. Laska agreed inwardly and she began to warp her own mind. She began to deceive herself. She was not Jute, nor ever had been. She was Laska, from her birth she had been good, pure, innocent. The serpent took the rest of her memories from her, yet remained in contact with her subconsciously.

Laska had done the near impossible, she had deceived herself and had become a different god. She knew nothing of the evil creature that she was.

Crysalis

The sword began wiping all of its memories of Jute, replacing them instead with Genocide.

The Serpent

"Fine then." The snake hissed at the shadow god. "Do not trusst me. I sstill wish you no harm. I wass interessted in the sstench of death. I came to ssee what had made the explossion." It looked at the bear. "What iss your name, and what iss your true form bear?"
