Introduction
The Roleplay: This is a game-style Pokemon roleplay. You can do pretty much whatever you want to here. I will be narrarating the roleplay as a GM rather than an actual character. This means that I'll be whatever characters are needed. Travel companions, Gym Leaders, Rivals, Team Rocket, that's me. I'll add where I need to.
There are a few regulations on your character. You may only start with a single, unevolved Pokemon. You may not capture legendaries. You cannot kill, steal from, or greviously injure other characters (without their permission, of course). Other than that, it's a free-for-all. Travel with NPCs or OCs.
You may also begin anywhere in the original four regions, excluding the Rainbow Islands. Just give me time to create the world up to your hometown (which is where you'll begin) before posting. Also, make sure to select your location from the dropbox at the right of the "Posting" screen.
Also, you can become an explorer! After you gain some much needed experience as a trainer, you'll be able to travel to the uncharted regions of the map. Just make sure that you bring a companion or two out there, because it may get mighty lonely...
The Rules:
1 No Godmodding. Duh.
2 Cursing is not allowed.
3 Romance is allowed, but keep it PG10. Nothing past kissing, please. I mean, COME ON, it's a Pokemon roleplay.
4 Please subscribe, bookmark, or post to the OOC thread so that you'll know when I post information regarding how to Pokemon battle and other important information.
5 Speaking of the OOC thread... please keep OOC chatter or questions there. Please and thank you.
6 Literacy, please. I'd like posts of 2-3 good paragraphs. Please do your absolute best to use proper spelling and grammar. One or two mistakes are fine, but I want to be able to read it...
7 Check back here often. Let me know if you're leaving.
8 Leveling up is not part of the RP. Evolving pokemon will be based on the characters abilities. Use good judgement when you think its time to evolve, please.
9 I may make up more rules. They will be bolded.
10 I think that I will be overwhelmed by the number of people who would sign up, given the chance. Therefore, I will stop accepting characters after a few more. Once a few people quit, I will reopen signups. You can submit a character, go for it... but I may PM you to tell you that you'll have to wait a while before actually participating.

Updates:
-Posting: All IC will be located under the Activity tab (see above). Make sure to select the location that your character is before posting. If you accidentally post to "The Pokemon World", it's okay, just edit the post and cut it. Then go back and post it to the correct location.
-Location: It appears that the Location dropbox will not display all areas of the Pokemon World. Anything after New Bark Town seems to have been cut off. However, there is still a way to post to the hidden locations. Go to the Places tab and scroll down until you see the place that your character is. Click that location. Once there, you can see posts that are there
-Battling: To avoid clogging the IC, all battles with NPC (characters played by me) will be held in the Battle Arena, then posted to the IC in a condensed format by me. PvP battles will be held in the same manner.
-Random Events: To simplify things on the GM side, please pick a number, 1-10 unless specified, in every post.
-Unexplored Territories: As soon as I finish putting in all the locations for the known map, I will add the option for your character to travel to new places. You can see the map (linked above) for details. Of course, that's only if you want to. I just figured that I should have some kind of explorer option.
-Map: As of now, I have finished inputting data for all places in Kanto and Johto. Since I have never been a fan of Hoenn, I will have to go back and play some of Ruby in order to get my barings in that particular region. I will move on to Sinnoh, since I'm more familiar. So, until Hoenn's up and (sort of) running, no one start there! Or, if you're planning on it, wait until I finish. But that may take several weeks...
-Catching Pokemon: I will tell you when you encounter a Pokemon. I can tell you the technical way that catching them works, but basically, you can only 'attempt' to do things. If your Pidgey uses Scratch, I'll tell you whether it worked. If you throw a Pokeball, I'll tell you if that worked. So don't post that you catch every single Pokemon, because that would fall under rule #1.

0 postsIlex Forest
This large and hostile forest seems to hold many mysteries, one of which is the strange series of disappearances throughout time...
0 postsRoute 34

0 postsGoldenrod City
This large and action-packed town is the center of Johto and contains the radio tower, the bike shop, the supermart, the train station, and the third gym.

0 postsNational Park
This large forest area is designated as a reserve for rare Pokemon to live. The area is only disturbed by the occaisional Bug-Catching Contest that trainers participate in. However, many other types of Pokemon dwell here.

A sea route that passes from Olivine City to the Whirl Islands.
0 postsWhirl Islands
This small cluster of islands is located between Olivine City and Cianwood City, which is on the edge of a large peninsula.
0 postsRoute 41
This is the second leg of the sea route to Cianwood City.
0 postsCianwood City
This Johto city is separated from the mainland. A world-famous pharmacy and the sixth Gym Leader are located here.
0 postsRoute 42
This path leads east from Ecruteak City. It is tricky to travel through, because a river runs across it, gushing over the edge of a nearby cliff and forming a steep waterfall. Beautiful, but deadly.
0 postsMt. Mortar
This mountain is about as safe as Route 42. All in all, it's up to the trainer whether it would be easier to try to scale the falls or pass through the tough and dark mountain.
0 postsMahogany Town
Not much good happens in this town. The seventh Johto Gym is here.
0 postsRoute 43
This grassy and confusing path leads to the northernmost point in Johto. There is sometimes a strange presence here...

0 postsRoute 44
This mountainous path leads around a small lake. Filled with trainers, Ice Path lies at the end.
0 postsIce Path
This frigid cavern is the only way to get to Blackthorn City. Confusing and multifaceted, some have never found their way out of here.
0 postsBlackthorn City
This city is the location of the final Gym battle in Johto. It is the highest peak on the continent.
0 postsRoutes 44, 45, and 46
It's all downhill from here. These Routes are the easy way out of Blackthorne City.
0 postsSilver Cave
Located at the end of Route 28, Silver Cave is as dark as it is dangerous. Only the best of trainers try to meet what lies at the end of this challenge.
0 postsHoenn
A region of the Pokemon World. Very islandy.

This sleepy little town in the middle of the woods is the location of Pokemon Professor Rowan.
0 postsRoute 101
This short road connects Littleroot Town to the rest of the world.
0 postsOldale Town
Another small town. Only beginning trainers even bother doing anything here except walking straight through.
0 postsRoute 102
This road, filled with weak trainers, connects Oldale Town and Petalburg City.
0 postsRoute 103
This route, just north of Oldale Town, runs east under the Cycling Road, Route 110. An island sits on the body of water that divides this route in half.
0 postsPetalburg City
This city is the location of a Gym Leader for Hoenn.
0 postsRoute 104
This lengthy road extends north from Petalburg City to Rustboro City. On this route are Mr. Briney's house, a Flower Shop, and Petalburg Woods.
0 postsPetalburg Woods
This short and easily surpassed set of woods contains mostly bug-type Pokemon.
0 postsRustboro City
This large and modern city in Hoenn is considered the center for innovation throughout the world. It also is the location of the first Gym Leader.
0 postsRoute 105
Extending south of Route 104, Route 105 is one of Hoenn's many openings into international waters. There is a strange island along this route.
0 postsRoute 106
This water path leads from the ambiguous and strange Route 104 to Dewford Town.
0 postsDewford Town
This small seaside community is tight. So tight, in fact, that whatever a newcomer says will automatically be cool within ten or so minutes. Plus, the second gym is here.
0 postsGranite Cave
This dark and confusing path actually leads to nowhere useful, but it does contain many rare and potentially powerful Pokemon.
0 postsRoutes 107, 108, and 109
These sea routes all have the same purpose: to connect Slateport City to Dewford Town. Rocks line the edges, and the water is very shallow, making International Waters inaccesable. An abandoned ship lies on Route 108, and Route 109 includes Slateport Beach.
0 postsSlateport City
This shipping center has no gym leader, but it is home to the renowned Cpt. Stern and the Slateport Harbor, which does allow powerful ships to travel. Also here is the Hyper Rank Pokemon Contest.
0 postsRoute 110
This road contains quite a bit. The obvious feature is the most popular method of transportation, the Bike Path. However, there is also a crazy man who lives here, along with the Power Plant known as New Mauville.
0 postsMauville City
This larger city contains many tourist attractions, such as the game corner and the third Hoenn Gym.
0 postsRoute 111
Unfortunately, this road is not as lucky as its name. Tough and arduous, many trainers, powerful Pokemon, and tough climate conditions are located here. If you intend to get from Mauville City to Route 112 or 113 (which are just as difficult), be prepared.
0 postsDesert
Dry and sparse, bring supplies if you intend to discover some of the many rare Pokemon who live here.
0 postsRoute 112
This mountainous path leads to Mt. Chimney and Fiery Path. Both are necessary to reach different towns.
0 postsMt. Chimney
This volcano, prone to occaisional but devestating activity, contains the Cable Car, which leads to Jagged Pass, an eventual access point for Lavaridge, which was unattainable due to the massive cliffs that separate it from the eastern half of Route 112.
0 postsLavaridge Town
This small town, high in the mountains, is prone to volcanic disaster, but also is home to some nice hot springs and a Gym Leader.
0 postsRoute 113 and Fiery Path
In order to get to Fallarbor Town, you have to travel through the brief but intense Fiery Path, due to 113 being at a much higher elevation than Route 112. Route 112 itself is covered in soot from Mt. Chimney.
0 postsFallarbor Town
This small mountain town is isolated and tiny, but it does contain one vital feature for Contest challengers: the Super Rank Contest.
0 postsRoute 114
A welcome change from the sooty scenery, however brief, Route 114 is peaceful and almost deserted except for a few houses.
0 postsMeteor Falls
A large cave west of Fallarbor Town, this cave is a one-way pass to Rustboro City. It does contain several extremely rare Pokemon, such as Bagon and the Solrock/Lunatone duo.
0 postsRoute 115
A lush and energetic place, Route 115 has many trainers and allows one-way access from Meteor Cave to Rustboro City to all except rock climbers, who might just make it going the wrong direction...
0 postsRoute 116
This light n' easy road is the beginning of the access road from Rustboro to Verdanturf.
0 postsRusturf Tunnel
Needed to go places. Duh.
0 postsVerdanturf Town
Though a small town, Verdanturf contains the Normal Rank Contest facility, making it arguably necessary.
0 postsRoute 117
Quite user-friendly, Route 117 is the locale for the Daycare Center.
0 postsRoute 118
This Route allows trainers to access the other half of Hoenn. Requiring some mode of water transportation, the small bayou is easily surpassible by Pokemon, but is dangerous for new swimmers. It leads east from Mauville City.
0 postsRoute 119
This Route, an inversed mirror image of the sand 111, is practically a rainforest, centered around a river. Constantly raining, this is the location of the Weather Institute. It leads to Fortree City.
0 postsFortree City
This treetop city is home to the fit and friendly. Along with the sixth Gym Leader, that is.
0 postsRoute 120
This rainwashed path eventually connects Lilycove to Fortree. It contains two different caves and lots of puddles.
0 postsRoute 121
This road becomes more solid and watery as you travel east toward Lilycove City. Both the Safari Zone and Route 122 connect off of this.
0 postsLilycove City
The center of commerce for Hoenn, Lilycove is the home to Master Contests and the Dept. Store of the region. This is one of the few continental cities that have access to International Waters.
0 postsRoute 122
This route is home to Mt. Pyre, the burial grounds for dead Pokemon.
0 postsRoute 123
This route is pretty useless - if you're trying to get to Lilycove. If you simply want back to Mauville, simply jump down a bunch of easy ledges. Plus, the ledges are fairly short, so a proficient rockclimber could easily scale them.
0 postsUnderwater
The only location where it is safe to explore underwater is in the Hoenn region. All other locations (International Waters or other regions) are either too deep or home to more trecherous Pokemon or pollutants. Make sure to dive only with a sturdy, powerful water Pokemon nearby.
0 postsRoute 124
The first of several sequential water paths. With many places to search for underwater treasure, Route 124 also is the path to reach Mossdeep City.
0 postsMossdeep City
With stable weather conditions, Mossdeep is the home to the Space Station and the seventh Gym, which is a surprising battle for some.
0 postsRoute 125
A dead end route, but a rocky growth known as Shoal Cave has developed here.
0 postsRoute 126
A circular path, Route 126 is the only access point to Sootopolis City. There are three ways to access the city: (a) dive underwater and go up through the underwater cave there; (b) climb the volcano; or (c) buy a helicoptor and fly in.
0 postsSootopolis City
A rare and difficult-to-reach city, this is home to the final Gym Leader. The mysterious Cave of Origin is located toward the back.
0 postsRoute 127
Another sea route, it's sparsely populated and deep.
0 postsRoutes 128, 129, 130, and 131
This seafaring path leads from Route 127, which is the main access point for incoming ships, to Pacifalog City. Route 128 leads to the Ever Grande City, where the Pokemon League is held. On a rare day, a landmass will appear in Route 130.
0 postsPacifidlog Town
This floating city has almost no locations of interest, but for the water trainer, this could be home.
0 postsRoutes 132, 133, and 134
A fast current runs through this part of the sea, leading trainers from Pacifidlog Town to Slateport City. There is a strange underwater cavern here that only the most experienced divers can reach.
0 postsEver Grande City
The location of Hoenn's Pokemon League, this tricky-to-navigate island is bisected by a Victory Road. Yet another difficult cave to traverse.
0 postsTerra Cave
You would have to be extremely lucky to find this place.
0 postsMarine Cave
You would have to be extremely lucky to find this place.
0 postsSky Pillar
You would have to be extremely lucky to find this place.
0 postsSouthern Island
You would have to be extremely lucky to find this place.
0 postsSinnoh
This large Pokemon region is highly mountainous.
0 postsTwinleaf Town
A small town in the middle of the forest.
0 postsRoute 201
A short and easy path, Route 201 connects Twinleaf Town, Lake Varity, and Sand Gem Town.
0 postsLake Varity
One of the trio of Sinnoh lakes. There is a strange presence here...
0 postsSand Gem Town
This charming city to the west of Twinleaf is the home to the best research facility in the region.
0 postsRoute 202
Another short route, this one is forestlike and contains many similiar Pokemon to such areas.
0 postsJubilife City
This joyful city is one of the worldwide centers for technology, offering a pioneer in the GTS that allows trainers to trade with other trainers from anywhere in the world. The Poketch Company is located here, as well as the television station that everyone watches.
0 postsRoute 203
This path is well-furnished, with an obvious road. However, it ends at a wing of Mt. Coronet, Oreburgh Gate.
0 postsOreburgh Gate
Although it seems to be only a simple cave between Jubilife and Oreburgh, the basement contains much more than meets the eye.
0 postsOreburgh City
This mining town is home to the adorable first Sinnoh Gym Leader. I'm sorry, did I just say that? I must be tired...
0 postsRoute 204
A charmingly natural path, Route 204 is divided by a small but rough cave called Ravaged Path.
0 postsFloaroma Town
Though beautiful and filled with sweet flowers and girls, Floaroma Town holds little appeal for all but the cautious trainer and the thrillseeker.
0 postsRoute 205
A long and complex road, Route 205 contains Fuego Ironworks and Valley Windworks; it also surrounds Eterna Forest, one of the three most expansive groups of tree that are still surpassable.
0 postsEterna Forest
Although it is not the largest of the forests, it is by far the most complex. It has many mysteries from ancient times.
0 postsEterna City
Although this city, the home to the second Gym Leader, was once the center of culture and history, but traditions have begun to fade.
0 postsRoute 206
This route is the location for Sinnoh's Bike Path, along with a confusing and nearly pointless cave known as Wayward Cave. It almost connects Eterna City to Oreburgh, with a little help from Route 207.
0 postsRoute 207
Home to rough and rocky terrain, this connects Oreburgh City, Route 206, and Mt. Coronet.
0 postsMt. Coronet
The largest mountain in the world, Mt. Coronet has many man-made tunnels through it.
0 postsRoute 208
Connecting Hearthome City to Mt. Coronet, the contrast of the flat fields from the cliffs is a jaw-dropping sight to behold from Hearhome.
0 postsHearthome City
The biggest city in the world, in some people's eyes. Containing a Gym, a cathedral, Amity Square, the Super Contest Hall, and much more, this city is one of the most desirable to live in.
0 postsRoute 209
Two twin towers, Lost Tower and another, reside in this road that connects Hearthome City to Solaceon Town.
0 postsSolaceon Town
Places of interest in this small farming community are the Day Care, Solaceon Ruins, and Sinnoh's newspaper.
0 postsRoute 210
The first half of this road, although somewhat obscured by the tall grass that grows there, is relatively easy to pass through and accesses Veilstone City eventually. The northern half, past a small cafe, is covered by dense fog, but travellers think that it covers an area of high cliffs above a waterfall. It leads to Celestic Town.
0 postsCelestic Town
This tiny town contains the memories of days long past, including a fresco depicting either the lake trio around either Dialgo or Palkia, or the diminsion trio around another great being...
0 postsRoute 211
This extensive mountain pass, which crosses through a segment of Mt. Coronet, connects Celestic and Eterna.
0 postsRoute 212
Like many of Sinnoh's longer roads, Route 212 comes in two parts. The upper half contains Pokemon Mansion and is well-kept and stately. The lower half is a nasty swamp and is miserable to pass through. Bring your wellies.
0 postsPastoria City
In addition to holding another Gym, Pastoria contains the Great Marsh (Safari Game) and connects to International Waters for smaller ships.
0 postsRoute 213
Large boulders in the water make access to the ocean nearly impossible on Route 213. It does have access to a nice hotel, though.
0 postsLake Valor
This member of the Sinnoh lakes trio seems to hold a strange presence...
0 postsRoute 214
This wildly natural route holds a grassy side and a rocky side, but neither is exclusive. To the east lies the fabled Spring Path.
0 postsVeilstone City
Considered the corrupt city of Sinnoh, Veilstone has the Game Corner, the Dept. Store, a strange spaceman headquarters, and a Gym Leader.
0 postsRoute 215
Connecting Solaceon to Veilstone, this rainy path is covered with hills and powerful trainers.
0 postsRoute 216
This snow-covered Route is only accessable through the northern tunnel out of Mt. Coronet.
0 postsRoute 217
This road, constantly frigid, is covered with heaps of snow from Mt. Coronet. It connects said mountain to Lake Acuity.
0 postsLake Acuity
Though frigid, the northern trio lake contains a strange presence...
0 postsSnowpoint City
This frigid town contains an ancient temple, along with the seventh Gym Leader.
0 postsRoute 218
Extending west of Jubilife City, this water route accesses Canalave City and is an excellent fishing spot.
0 postsCanalave City
This shipping center is a good access point for incoming ships and contains tourist ferries to the small islands to the north. It contains a library and a Gym Leader.
0 postsRoutes 219, 220, and 221
These small paths collectively lead south of Sand Gem Town to the ruins of the attempted Pal Park. Instead, the area is the site for Sinnoh's newest city. Routes 219 and 220 are water-based, while 221 crosses onto land.
0 postsLegolath City
The result of years of work on a doomed park, this city is under construction still.
0 postsRoute 222
A sunny and cheerful place, Route 222 connects Veilstone and Pastoria to Sunyshore.
0 postsSunyshore City
This solar-powered city contains a Gym Leader, a lighthouse, and a superlative market.
0 postsRoute 223
A slender water route connecting Sunyshore City to the Pokemon League and Victory Road. The steep waterfall at one end truly tests the willpower and intelligence of trainers.
0 postsPokemon League
Separated from the rest of Sinnoh by Victory Road and a waterfall, this is possibly the most difficult challenge of all. Although most of it is in resisting the charms of E4's Flint...
0 postsRoute 224
This quiet path, extending east of Victory Road, contains the entrance to seabound Seabreak Path and Flower Paradise. However, the water is too deep and dangerous to swim or ride a Pokemon but too shallow to take a motorboat. The only way to get to Flower Paradise is via a canoe.
0 postsFight Area
Part of the large island that is located northeast of Sinnoh, the Fight Area contains Battle Tower and many powerful trainers.
0 postsRoute 225
This road between the Fight and Survival Areas is quite taxing to both Pokemon and trainer.
0 postsSurvival Area
Only the best trainers gather here, in a tiny settlement separated from Sinnoh by an ocean and two rugged roads.
0 postsRoute 226
This difficult Route is the only surpassable way to Stark Mountain.
0 postsRoute 227
This is the access road from Route 226 to the active volcano Stark Mountain.
0 postsStark Mountain
An active volcano, there is most definitely a strange presence here.
0 postsRoute 228
This rough path is harshly raked by a horizonally blowing sandstorm driven by strong winds off the sea. It's a downhill slope from Stark Mountain to the Resort Area.
0 postsRoute 229
Though filled with very powerful wild Pokemon, this route is very natural.
0 postsRoute 230
This entirely sea route is the rocky home to some of the world's most beautiful coral reefs and dangerous Pokemon. It connects the Fight and Resort Areas.
0 postsResort Area
Though difficult to reach, the Resort Area is the prime spot for great real estate.
0 postsSpear Pillar
This mysterious set of runes at the highest peak of Mt. Coronet seems to hold the keys to the past.
0 postsSpring Path and Turnback Cave
It takes the rare trainer to find this cave.

0 postsVohkani
A new region for the Pokemon World. If you are interested in exploring, please click this for details, for there are quite a few.
0 postsNorth Kanto
This unexplored region is reached by simply crossing the set of mountains which begin with Mt. Moon from Kanto. It has a very aquuatic landbase, with many rivers, lakes, and forests.
0 postsHolon
Another unexplored region, Holon is north of Johto on the same continent. Its eastern half, which butts up against Northern Kanto, is very swampy, while the western half becomes mountainous.
0 postsSevii Islands
This group of islands, south of Kanto, is burned out after a massive plague and an insect infestation struck, leaving the land barren.
0 postsOrange Islands
This massive cluster of islands in the center of the Pokemon World is filled with island culture and rivalry.
0 postsFururi Islands
Unexplored, the Fururi Islands seem to hold more than just some water Pokemon. These are the desert islands in the middle of nowhere. With one exception.
0 postsFiore
True to its name, this unexplored region is very warm most of the year with its deserts.
0 postsLevitar
This island region, mostly unknown to the world, is covered with tropical plants and deep jungles.
0 postsAlmia
This region, which is on the same continent as Orre, is the coastal region, with only a thin branch of trees dividing the two sides of the ocean.
0 postsOrre
The northern half of the continent containing Almia, Orre is seemingly aquatic on the coast. However, its center contains open plains and plateaus.
0 postsArtica
This barren region, covered in ice and snow, is at the furthest point to the north of the Pokemon World. It contains a surprising amount of Pokemon.

OOC Notes
I snatched a pink button-up shirt, my light colored sweater, a pair of jeans and some light blue running shoes. I pulled on the ensemble quickly, stopping momentarily to roll the bottom of my pants up just an inch or so above my ankle. I looked at the dazed Pikachu who was now getting up and looking at me confusedly. I carefully took my bag off of the back of my desk chair as I explained to him why I... we... were in such a rush.
"Did you forget? Tsk, tsk, tsk! Today is the day we start our journey to become the best!" I said cheerily, only to get a 'Pika!' in reply. I held out my arm, letting the small yellow Pokemon rush up to its spot on my shoulder.
"Alice?!" I heard my mom call from down stairs.
"Yeah! I'm coming!" I called back, carefully coming down the stairs.
*****
"Bye!" I called behind me as I waved. I was walking away from the house, my best friend in and out of battle running by my side (I mean Pikachu) as I started my way down the dirt paths. I couldn't decide where to start. Should I go into the tall grass and try to catch some Pokemon to train or should I go into town and look at the Pokemon people had for sell or trading? There were so many options!
OOC Notes
As Alice walked confidently toward the exit of Pallet Town, a boy of roughly seventeen years was stooped in front of a small bush. She could barely make out the sound of him saying, "Come on, buddy. You can trust me! There's no danger here." His shaggy blue hair brushed his long nose as he attempted to coax a nervous-looking Swinub from the cover of the bush.
Only a few yards away stood another pair. "Mom, we've done this before. I'm just passing through." The tall girl brushed her long brown hair out of her face and hugged her the shorter woman, who appeared to be crying. "I'll be back before long." At her feet ran a young Growlithe, yapping and chasing some kind of airborne insect. "Growlithe, cut it out!"

Thach lay in his bead, still in the cloths he put on earlier that mornng. His faithful companion, Beau the Ekans, was too asleep on Thach's stomach. He lazily opened one of his eyes, "Alright, alright...*yawn*...'cmon Buddy, lets see if we can't actually go somewhere today.."
"Ekansssss!!!" Beau squealed, tumbling off Thach and the bed in his excitement. He waited for his trainer to get out of the bed.
"Alright, man, I'm coming..." He said as he patted his friend. His room was a bit messy, clutter all over his desk, and random cloths on the floor. He put on his boots and followed his friend downstairs to his upset mother.
OOC Notes
Alice looked around, hearing the slight whisper of a boy maybe a year older than her. It sounded like he was coaxing something or someone nearer. Pikachu looked up at her curiously.
"Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing." she said, leaning down and ruffling the yellow creature's fur. She followed the sound of the voice towards a bush. What was a doing? Coaxing a Pokemon?
"Hey, Pikachu?"
"Pika?"
"Can you go check it out for me?" she asked and the little Pikachu sprinted off, slowing down as he reached the bush. He peered around the green leaves to see the boy coaxing a Pokemon. So, he came out further to investigate.
OOC Notes
[Thach Wilson] Thach's mother looked him over disapprovingly as he trudged downstairs. "If you're going to go, at least wear some fresh clothing." She smiled softly at her son's habits, handing him a sack full of food and wheeling over a brand-new bicycle. It had a basket and a strap to attach useful items. "I bought this for you. It's the newest model."
The door opened, and a girl of about Thach's age entered the room. It was the next door neighbor, Emilia Johnson. "Ms. Wilson, that flock of Spearows attacked your garbage bin again. It's all over the place." She smiled at Thach, brushing her short red hair behind her ear and lifting her small Oddish from the ground. "Hey, Thach. Leaving on a Pokemon Journey?"
[Alice Liddael] The boy, sighing and messing with his hair, stood up as the Pikachu came near. The Swinub beneath the bush shrank back even further, but the distraction of the Pikachu provided the boy with the opportunity to swiftly reach into the bush's depths and remove the Swinub. "Hello, Pikachu," he said in his mild voice. He smiled and stood upright. "My name's Kyle. I'm assuming you own that little guy?" He pointed kindly to the yellow Pokemon.

Thach noticed the girl and wiped his eyes. "I swear, those Spearow are going to be the death of me.." Thach then thought to himself "Wait...I won't be here to clean it up! HA HAAA!!!" Thach grinned at the thought and then walked up to Emilia. "Hey Emi. Yea I'm going on my journey." He noticed the Oddish. "Hey Oddish!" He said in a kind of babied voice. He then looked at Beau, who had now coiled himself around his left arm. He was doing his creepy Ekans grin at the tiny grass pokemon "Ekans Ekansss...". Beau normally did this to people or Pokemon as a sign of a friendly greeting.

(ReEvolution, can you please cut out your last post and move it to 'Pallet Town'? Instructions are in the Updates section of the Introduction.)

"So, are you a Pokemon trainer just starting out or have you been on the road for a while?" she probed further with her questions. Her curiosity was getting the better of her and she wanted to know more. She always wanted to know more about something.
((I guess it's a bit short, huh? My number: 2))
OOC Notes
He, too, was curious. But first he answered her questions, not wanting to intrude too rudely. "Oh, I've definiely been on the road for a while. I'm just passing through." He pointed to his right hip, where three Pokeballs sat. "This Swinub's only my newest addition. I also own a Jinx and a Cloyster." He chuckled, thinking back just a bit. "I was just Surfing south of here, down around the Whirl Island and even a bit further in the Orange Islands, trying to find a Water Stone to evolve my Cloyster from Shellder. It worked."
Tucking a flyaway tuft of hair back into the rest of the blue mass, he asked, "So... which way are you and Pikachu headed? I'm assuming north, but where from there? Johto or Pewter City?" He liked Alice. She was outgoing and nice. Plus her Pikachu was cute.

[Thach Wilson] Route 1 Emilia, still smiling, hoisted her own bag to her shoulder and ran to Pallet Town's exit, which was Route 1. "Hurry up, Thach, this'll be fun!" The girl was excited. The baby Oddish was set on the ground and toddled around at Emi's feet, looking like a potted plant. With legs, of course.
Suddenly, a shadow appeared out of no where, knocking the tiny grass Pokemon from its feet. Emilia picked up the Pokemon, protecting the baby. In front of her stood a large, hawklike Pokemon - a Staraptor. She panicked and cowered slightly. "Thach, help!"
OOC Notes
( sorry theres no dialogue :S my number is 9)
OOC Notes
At that moment the two hear a yell coming from the way that they are going. The two start to run the way they heard the yell. As the get there they see a girl cowering with a Oddish beside her and a Staraptor standing over them.
Without even telling the girl that he was there to help or anything Blake says a little loud "Drake use Horn Attack!" Drake runs at the Staraptor slamming into it with its horn making it fall in pain.
OOC Notes
Before Ekans could make it to the attacking Staraptor, a Ryhorn beat it out of the air with a horn attack. "Ryhorn? In these parts? No, that has to belong to a trainer." Thach looked around and noticed a pinkish haired boy around his age.
((wait, weren't battles to be posted as PMs? 3))
OOC Notes
[Lee Wilter]The tall girl with brown hair, sighing frustratedly at the young Growlithe at her ankles, saw a boy about her age walk out of a nearby house, tailed by a Pikachu. "Hey, are you leaving?" she asked, smiling at him. "My name's Melissa Brown, and I need some help... I'm a Pokemon Breeder, and I recently adopted this puppy from an abandonment shelter in Saffron..." she winced slightly. "Bad idea. Anyway, if you're headed out of town, I could really use a hand."
The Growlithe was acting like a complete nuisance. It had attacked Melissa's foot, demolished one of the flowers in the house's garden, and tackled the Pichu in a very friendly but boisterous manner. It was easy to see that the demure Melissa would have a hard time travelling with such a Pokemon by herself.
OOC Notes
Emilia peered into the trees, orange hair swaying as she stood on tiptoe. "Who was that?" Then she turned to Blake, smiling. "And who are you?" The baby Oddish was recalled into the confines of its Pokeball as well, since there were so many things around that scared it.
Before Blake had a chance to say much of anything, however, Emilia's first question answered itself. A boy with sweeping red hair stepped from behind the tree. He wore a black coat and smiled maliciously as he held up a Pokeball, which clearly contained the Staraptor. His eyes glinted red; he was wearing contacts. "Well, fools, I would say that you've won some sort of prize. Except you couldn't fool me. My name's Tom. Tom Marv. I'd stay away from me, if I were you. But I'd hate to be you." The boy set off into the trees once more, and soon it was as if nothing had happened.
OOC Notes
After the man walked back into the woods Blake walks over to the female. "My name is Blake and this is Drake," Drake walks up beside me "Are you ok?"

"Hey Alice! I'm tagging along with you, k?" Zack told Alice, not really giving her a choice. "And who's this Pokemon Trainer?" He asked curiously.

[Alice Liddael and Zack Valdez] Kyle turned to the boy who approached him and Alice. "Hello. I'm Kyle, a Pokemon trainer. And you would be?" His tone was polite, but reserved. He didn't mind talking to people he didn't know individually, but groups of people made him just a bit nervous. "Nice Mudkip, though. I'll bet it grows to be a fine Pokemon."

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
But anyway, now I'm back. :D
For people who haven't posted in a while or plan to take an extended absense, that's fine, as I've said before. If you're travelling with anyone besides me in the roleplay, you'll probably want to let them know, but other than that, it's just kind of 'at your leisure'.
Anyway, it's back to the grindstone. Hopefully, I'll start to get closer to inputting all the places in Hoenn soon, since people are travelling there. O_o
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
It also makes sense my character Tekno (who has never been to Kanto before, ever) would not know of the Pokemon Center charging for rooming, like he was confused, since the Centers in his home region of Vohkani do not. To him, the only thing he is aware of that they charge for meals (since they DO have to make money somehow).
Alright, that clears things up a bit more. Thanks!

Music wrote:((Haha, another thing I'm winging. Since I'm not sure, let's just assume that in Johto and Kanto, they charge for food and rooming at the Pokemon Center, since they don't have enough room for all of the new trainers. By the way, do you remember the name of the big company from Hoenn? It's not Silph Co...))
Oh I know this one since my chara is from the Hoenn universe, the Silph Co of Hoenn is called Devon Corporation (aka Devon Co) an it´s "base" is in Rustboro City.
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
For example, if you're in a conversation with a character that I haven't really explored character-wise yet, then I choose the personality based on how close your number was to mine. If it's right on the button, then that character might have a personality that complements yours, or if they already have a personality determined, then they'll be more favorable to the character.
Wild Pokemon also use this method. If it's pretty clear that you're looking for a Pokemon (or even if you're not) then I'll roll to see (a)whether you can find a Pokemon and (b) how good of a Pokemon I consider it to be. A good example is the fact that, since ShatteredMind rolled my number before my last post, she found a Skitty that didn't even need to be battled in order to own it.
A third example: if you're wandering around in the wild, then I'll use them to figure out how lost you get.
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
Music wrote:((Just so you are aware, this is why we choose numbers. The closer your number is to the one I pick, the more favorable I make my moves to you. You chose 3, my number was 4... ))
And that would explain how I barely ended without the chance to catch a pokemon... twice.
So yeah, we are playing like dungeons and drangons, rolling to decide which comes next.
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
If it is, I apologize, because each post I had was simply increasing in number with each successive post. >XD And I was a little ignorant otherwise, and I just wanted to ask for clarification. Or does the "roll of the die" only apply to stuff like battles?
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
Sorry it took me so long to get around to this--meant to do this, like, a million years ago!
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
As for Tekno, it's your choice... XD
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
I have a very crudely drawn map of Vohkani (Tekno's home region) drawn and uploaded to my computer somewhere. I'll post it or PM it to you, whichever you'd like.
And I completely understand. I might make some minor changes to Tekno here than in the other roleplay...or I may keep them and integrate them into the other one, not sure. LOL
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
As for starting in Kanto, you don't have to. It's just random chance that everyone so far has chosen that region to begin in. RIght now, Kanto, Johto, and some of Hoenn is open to start in. And if you want to start in Sinnoh, then you'll have to wait, because it takes forever to input all the places to the roleplay. But you have to start in one of the four regions.
I would prefer if your character was from one of the four regions as well, but if you wanted to make up a region, send me a map or some sort of basic explanition and I'll add it to the list of places I have to add. A made-up region would be fun to toy with.
The only other requirement is that they begin with a basic or baby level Pokemon. But this doesn't mean that they have to be pathetically weak. Your Pokemon, even though it wouldn't be evolved yet, could be fairly powerful.
The only reason I have the whole 'characters must be approved' thing set up is to prevent a buttload of new trainers bombarding me this weekend. So go ahead and submit, and I'll tell you if there is anything that you would need to change.
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
I do have an odd question--even though we're starting in Kanto, could I have it to where my character is from another region that isn't in the games? And is it preferable they start out with a weak Pokemon, as like a beginning trainer? Just thought I'd ask...
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
For any wild Pokemon, you'll just post to the IC. All Pokemon you'll encounter in the wild will be fairly weak, so you will only need two or three posts in order to defeat it or catch it. For legendary Pokemon encounters, I haven't worked that out yet, but I'll figure it out if that should become more important. It will be extremely difficult to encounter a legendary Pokemon.
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
If we are about to battle an NPC wild Pokemon, regardless of intention to capture or not, do we have to go through the whole Chat battle process? I'm just thinking about flow of RP.
On another note, about 2 hours after this post I'll be gone for the weekend.

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Experience
As for the attacks, you don't need to use an HM to be able to cross bodies of water and such. Just be realisitc. For example, in the games, you could teach a baby Squirtle Surf and then cross the ocean. But that doesn't make sense, since the poor thing would probably die from exhaustion. If you have a Pokemon that's capable of using an ability (such as Surf, Teleport, Cut), you'll be able to. Just post ahead of time (say, Suzzy says, "I want to get to Pallet Town really fast. I'll use my Abra to teleport there') and I'll tell you in the GM post whether or not that's possible.
As for other moves, just be realistic as to your Pokemon's capabilities. I don't care if you use moves that normally wouldn't be there, as long as they make sense for the Pokemon and aren't way overpowered. (Mareeps can't use Horn Drill. Nor can they use Thunder.)
I won't be posting to the IC tonight. Too much work to do. ReEvolution needs to move her post to Pallet Town...
This roleplay is a LOT of work. I may be putting a temporary limit on the number of people that are allowed to join until I get into an easier time. Like summer. That would be awesome.
