∞ Full name ∞ "Character Thought"
Casadel Siegrist, however, his friends and family call him "Cas."
∞ Age ∞ "Character Thought"
Cas is really just a boy, he has just reached his fourteenth winter. His name-day, however, is fast approaching. (14 Years old, turning 15 soon.)
∞ Gender ∞ "Character Thought"
Male
∞ Sexuality ∞ "Character Thought"
Heterosexual
∞ Class ∞ "Character Thought"
Warrior/Holy Mage. An odd combination to be sure, however, Cas takes to it quite well. Between his natural agility, his ever-growing strength, and the sheer multitude of magical power that he has to work with, Cas makes for powerful combatant.
∞ Height & Weight ∞ "Character Thought"
For his age, Cas is a healthy lad. He weighs just over 140 lbs, and is just abut five feet tall.
∞ Hair color ∞ "Character Thought"
Cas's hair is a beautiful shade of brown. It's shiny and soft, and though he keeps it long, it's not a bad look on him. That being said, Cas is a growing boy, soon to be a man. He'll probably need to cut it sooner than later, but, for now, he likes it this length.
Cas's eyes are a dark brown, almost black. Though the color is strange, to be sure, in Cas, it works. His eyes seem friendly and warm, despite their dark hue, and always seem to be turned up at the edges, and indication of a nearly constant smiling face.
∞ Distinguishable Facial Features ∞ "Character Thought"
Casadel has some freckles that dot across his nose and the tops of his cheeks, but he has no other distinguishable facial features.
∞ Birthmarks/Scars/Tattoos/Piercings ∞ "Character Thought"
Again, none, even anywhere else on the rest of his body. Despite your usual assortment of freckles, Cas's skin is relatively smooth and clear. He'd almost look like a woman, were it not for the sharpness of his chin and jaw.
∞ Physical Description ∞ "Character Thought"
Though not particularly large, or imposing, Casadel walks with an effortless grace that can only be seen as confidence. He doesn't strut, per say, but he does walk with a sort of purpose. He is neither particularly skinny or muscled, but is lean and well-built for his age and height. His hands are somewhat large for his age, and his shoulders are broad. Every day he seems to get a little taller and a littler wider. Though this isn't exactly true, Casadel is right in the middle of puberty. Though he appears to be nothing more than a sack of bones, Cas is, steadily, becoming heavier, more muscled, and taller. His face will soon shed its baby fat, revealing high cheekbones and a chiseled jawline. It is easy to see, that with age and training, Casadel will become a rather strong handsome man. For now, however, he remains as physically unimposing as a preteen boy should be.
∞ Weapon ∞ "Character Thought"
As a farmer's boy, Cas often carried a sturdy, ironwood, shepherd's crook, roughly eight feet long, which he used to fend off wild beasts, set stubborn cattle on the right path, and help complete his daily chores. As such, the boy makes for an excellent spear-man, and wields such weapons with an effortless grace. His father, who has fought in the king's army on more than one occasion, spent half his years wages on a sturdy spearhead for the boy, and chopped off the curved tip of his shepherd's crook, affixing the spearhead to the resulting six-foot long staff. The staff is imbued with memories and copious amounts of time, and it functions well as a conduit for Cas's magic. However, the connection is incomplete. Until Cas affixes a focus to the end of his spear, preferably set within the spearhead itself, his magic will run wild, and be too raw and harmful to do anyone any good. Such a focus is unique to the caster, he couldn't just stroll down to the Mage's quarter and buy a focus. Such a talisman will need to be earned or found. Preferably, it should be taken as a trophy of battle.
That being said, Casadel only ever uses his spear when he feels the need to be particularly destructive. The magic he casts is greatly augmented by the ironwood shaft of his spear, but without a focus at the end, the magic released by the spear is simply too powerful and ill-defined for Cas to properly control. Instead of performing pinpoint strikes, such magic would spread much farther than intended and most likely cause horrific accidents. Instead, Cass much prefers to mold his magic into his fists, using his very body as a focus for his magic. By using his hands, Cas can create much more stable and controlled effects with his magic. While such a style of casting is nowhere near practical as a dedicated long-distance Mage, it serves to make him an incredible close-range fighter. Cas can, for as long as he’s got the energy to do it, cloak his body with powerful magical energies, and use them to enhance his physical attacks. This makes him stronger, faster, and much more durable than a normal fourteen year old boy should be.
✔ Loyal. Casadel loves to make friends and make people happy. He will be the most steadfast and enduring friend that you could ever possess, as he would rather die than abandon someone who he once called, "friend."
✔ Casadel is, probably, the bubbliest, most genuinely happy and excited person you could ever meet. His positive energy almost seems to makes him radiate a general feeling of goodness, innocence, and brightness. His smile is practically infectious, and can warm the hearts of even the most cantankerous and ornery. Due to this general vibe, Cas is very easy to trust and open up to. He never seems fake or disingenuous. Cas's primary goal in life is nothing less than finding a way to ensure the general happiness and well-being of everyone he meets. Ambitious, no?
✔ Cas is Honest. He barely ever lies. This is somewhat of a two edged sword, as it makes artful lying, or the telling of half-truths, completely impossible to him. That being said, Cas never says something he doesn't mean, or something that he doesn't believe in, one hundred percent. Therefore, it should be noted that any threats he makes, though not particularly numerous by any means, are to be taken quite seriously. Casadel would never break a promise, he would never back down, and he would never say something that he didn't believe would come to fruition.
∞ Flaws ∞
✘ Though very useful, Cas’s powers are still dangerous, as all dealings with magic are. Because he is so sensitively attuned to the magic around him at all times, his body acts as a natural conduit for it. If the magic around him is strong enough, it could overpower him, causing horrible backlash or injury. This begins with something like a migraine or a stomach ache, and can develop into bleeding from any external orifices, such as his ears, tear ducts, nose, or he could even cough it up. Such bleeding is just as threatening to his life as it would be were it caused by a physical injury. Casadel feels great pain when he is near a place with extremely dense magic, and could pass out if the pain is too great. Even worse, if the stagnant energy is particularly evil, it could even possess Casadel, turning him into nothing more than a raging beast, no more intelligent than the dumbest of wild beasts, and twice as angry.
✘ Cas is naïve, as young boys often are. Though he is smart enough, he has not yet gained much of the wisdom of age. As such, he is particularly trusting, innocent, and even shy.
✘ When he isn't channeling energy into his body, he is just as frail as a young boy his age ought to be. Though Cas hasn't exactly had the hardest life, as he lived on the farm, tending cattle and chickens, a body that has spent all its life working as a farmer isn't as built for fighting as a professional soldier's or mage's. Though he's a sturdy little boy, he is still, just a boy.
∞ Noticed Talents ∞
✔ Affinity ~ For a boy his age, Casadel’s observed ability to reproduce, manipulate, or regurgitate the things he learns is absolutely astounding. Though he is not a very fast learner, as he lacks the ability to focus on things that do not pique his interest, he doesn't like sitting still for long periods of time, and he has a very hard time performing abstract processes in his head without a physical representation of them. Though he is a terrible formal student, he is extremely capable of applying the things he knows. He can recall any information he's learned with astounding speed and accuracy, he is excellent at recognizing the types of situations in which he can ply his knowledge or skills, and he can even theorize and make predictions based off of his pool of knowledge and observations. Though Casadel isn't exactly the smartest cookie in the jar, he is, probably, the wisest.
∞ Mount ∞ "Character Thought"
Cas, the poor little boy, has been lucky enough, blessed really, to be chosen by a Gryphon. It has often been said that no one chooses such a beast, instead, a Gryphon will choose its rider. Indeed, if Cas had his way, he would have chosen a more gentle, loving mount. However, it is very unwise to refuse the offer of a Gryphon, so Cas decided to try and kindle the bond that exists between them. This is much easier said than done. The beast is practically two times taller than him, and is easily more than quintuple his weight. Though the beast does respond to the name Xerxes, he doesn't come when Cas calls him, he hardly consents to be ridden, and is more of a pain than an actual help. He doesn't respond to anyone other than Cas, and even then, such orders are iffy at best. That being said, Cas will never choose another mount, he'll never discuss leaving the beast, and Cas would even give his life for Xerxes. Though Xerxes appears to disdain such affections, he does respect the boy, even though he torments him. Cas always jokes that it's a sign of affection. Xerxes is an intelligent beast, capable of high-order reasoning and following complex commands. He is strong, slightly larger than usual, even for a Gryphon, and flies and fights with a fierce, reckless abandon that could only be compared to a gale force wind. Xerxes is proud and disdainful, however, as it was said before, though Xerxes doesn't like Cas, he does respect him. Men two times Cas's size would have given up on the Gryphon by now.
∞ Personality ∞ "Character Thought"
Casadel is a kind, caring, and generous boy. He is almost instantly endearing to people who meet him, as he is both polite and well-spoken. He isn’t sniveling or even sycophantic, instead Casadel simply likes to make people happy. The thought that something he did is responsible for someone else's smile is absolutely riveting to him. He loves the idea that he is capable of producing joy in a time so defined by sadness. Thusly, Cas smiles often and jokes more than he smiles. He loves to play and makes friends rather quickly. Casadel is very playful, acting whimsical and childish on a regular basis. Somewhat conversely, however, Casadel considers himself a very loyal friend. If someone has earned his friendship, then he feels that it is his duty to protect and help his friends out to the best of his ability. However, if Cas really likes you, in the way that could lead to romantic love, he'll leave you perfectly alone. Cas is the type to clam up around the person he likes the most, acting strangely and nervously in the most visible manner possible. That being said, he is somewhat of a social butterfly. He adapts quickly to situations that involve him interacting with other people, and though he is very forgetful of things that are actually useful, such as when to plant and harvest crops, or how to shoe a cow, Cas is very observant of other peoples' habits and quirks, and he never forgets those kind of things. Cas has an astounding memory for names, titles, personality quirks, and is even capable of a limited amount of strategic prediction about what a person is thinking or feeling because their personality is so committed to his memory. These, "abilities," are only capable of being used, on people Casadel is friendly with. Further, he would have to spend a good deal of time with that person to understand them in such a way. Though he is a very fast friend, he cannot learn anything he doesn't directly experience. Further, he considers it very bad manners to investigate someone without their permission, or attack someone without letting them know about it first.
