Introduction

Linthe, a large and constantly developed city, which overlooks the small mining town of Borko, just south outside of it's borders. The whole above city is sculpted out of black marble which sparkles in the sunlight, and shows the wealth of the people who live in those wondrous houses. There are many narrow and winding streets, paved so perfectly in basalt which is extracted from the small active volcano just 50 miles south from the city which is then worked into by the mining town.
There are not many trees or flowers in Linthe. There are about three small gardens located throughout the city, but other than that, it is just stone.
The streets are kept clean and tidy to uphold the reputation of the rich. Rich is clean, fancy and tidy. Poor is dirty, simple and messy. The people of above Linthe can be classed as snobby and close-minded. They will not accept anyone from the outside unless they are of high status or wealth. It just shows the ugliness of people, doesn't it?

The palace, which holds the royal family is made from black and white marble with many gold statuettes surrounding the palace. The palace is sitting on top of the small mountain that overlooks the city. The royal family like to honour themselves as gods and so, are treated like gods but without the real generosity of them. The royal family mainly consist of ten family members, at least two of them obviously being a male. The King, and however many sons. If they are to be all male, then they would marry a princess of a neighboring country. If not, they would marry a sister, unless otherwise.
The palace has their own bodyguard system. The Roses. They are the royal guard which protect the palace and the city. They are easily sighted because of their suits. They wear a different colour to their rank. Red being the lowest, black being the highest. They also have a rose tattoo somewhere on their body along with the colour. The colour is also changed when they move up a rank. They are specially trained and would make mince meat out of anyone. In direct conflict of course. The only class possible of escaping from them are bandits and magic users which know the ability to teleport.

Now, the below city is a series of aqueducts which course underneath the city and hold the poorer civilians. Even the middle class, but they live in a better built and lavished section which is closer to the above city. They own many of the shops in the city which sell food, materials and what not to the richer civilians.

The aqueducts are tunnels which block the sunlight and lie infested with rats and other dirty creatures. The aqueducts are also the sewer line and water line, but are better contained.
The poorer civilians of Linthe have built houses in the aqueducts out of mere wood that they were given from the mining town of Borko. They feed on the rats that roam the 'underworld' as they call it, and harvest the plants Nirno, and Floceed that they sell to the richer people which is then made into medicine for a higher price.
Bandits come from Lower Linthe, and since they can blend with the people, they're hard to catch if they're able to go down into the aqueducts.

NATNAT is Linthe's neighbouring city and it's rival. NATNAT is more advanced, but is a smaller city. It lies just north of Linthe, past the active volcano which makes it hard to attack if there ever was a war. The city is made up of tall buildings and the lower city which people can get to through various tunnels that run through the city. The streets are narrow and full of shops which sell basically everything. There is hussle and bussle, people getting to where they want or need to be. The Count's house is the largest and tallest building in the city, literally covering the whole of the city, and he resides up at the top along with his wife and children.

They designed the first sea ship many, many years ago, and are now starting to develop something called an airship using magic. The King of Linthe want's his hands on it after it has been built. He claims that it would be a good trading vessel for the future of Linthe...

Rules

Okay, first off.-

-The ranks of Roses go as follows;
Red, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Mint Green, Blue, Purple, White and then Black.

The abilities differ from person to person. But I would like them to have two skills when they are a Red Rose, and then to add another two when they move up a rank. They are not magic users, only highly skilled fighters but even though skills may be magic based, they are not magic. If you see where I'm getting at? They don't recite spells, or use magic potions to help them with a spell, so it is not magic.

The lower ranks are just guards, and they patrol the city and the palace. So basically, the boring jobs. Whilst the higher ranks, Blue, Purple, White and Black, are secret police and spies. They collect information and bring down whoever got away from the lower ranks. They also travel and gather information from other cities for the King. They are the ones who told the King about NATNAT's airship.

There are more lower rank members than there are higher ranks. The Red Roses have more because they are the lowest rank, and that's where trainee's start. The Black Roses have less because by the time someone becomes a Black Rose, they're 30 years old and above, but most of the time 50 and older. So they usually retire after 10 years of being a Black Rose. I'd say there are about 10 Black Roses. There are 25 White Roses, and they are basically second in command to Blacks. So they can also control the lower ranks but need to have permission from Black Roses first.

To move up in rank you need to stick out from the others, and hold a strong sense of honour, pride and show abilities of the rank higher from you. You also need to be on good terms with the Head, which I will be playing.

- I am God, so my words mean law. Understand?
- Please keep it PG13. I don't want any nudity, sex or anything like that thank you. We have children and parents on this site.
- I would like you to post every 2-3 days please. If you are going away for a short period of time. Can you please inform me so that I can issue someone to take over your character for the period of which you are gone. If you are going to leave the roleplay permanently, can you tell me and kill off your character. Unless you would want someone to take it over for you.
- I put comedy into the tags because I like to have a little chuckle every now and then, otherwise it's just boring. So, the funnier, the better.
- I would like to have my characters approved first before you can post. I will read your profile and tell you whether it is in or not. If it isn't and I think that it could do with some minor changes, I will post it back to you and tell you what you will need to change.
- This is optional, but maybe you could make your posts pretty? With a little cherry on top? ;3 It makes the post more flattering. But as I said before, it is optional. Which means, you don't have to do it.
- Right, I tagged this roleplay as 'literate'. People think that literate means writing 6 paragraphs per post, and if you don't, they'll kill yer' mum! THAT IS NOT WHAT LITERATE IS. Literate means being able to write a detailed post which not only describes what your character is doing, their emotions and so on and so forth. But also is able to add to the story. Okay?
But I would like you to write a minimum of one paragraph of 7 lines per post please. It doesn't take much to write detail. And I also want a sample post with your character please.
- Puh-lease! No grammar nazi's or elitists. They annoy me, and quite possible annoy other people. We're here to have fun. We're not in some english camp where you have to spell every word EXACTLY right, otherwise you're out. So please, if you're one of those people, try to keep it to yourself.
- This annoys me to hell and back. Girls, if you are in a towel and a man is in front of you. YOUR TOWEL DOES NOT JUST SUDDENLY FALL OFF. And guys, you're not the most powerfulest, most handsomest, and the most unsociable bastard out there. Those sort of characters are boring, and if I find one, you wont be accepted.
- Now, a lot of people do this. YOU CAN NOT BECOME A MASTER OF ANYTHING WHEN YOU ARE 16 YEARS OLD. Ugh! That annoys me. Be realistic. Yes, even though this is fantasy it does annoy me. You can not become a master of ANYTHING unless you're past 50 years-old and if you've been doing whatever you are doing since you were young. Just no.
- Most of the Knight's are aged 25 and over, because it takes YEARS before you're finally allowed to be called a knight. Younger civilians are allowed to learn from a knight if they let you. But you can not become one of the higher ranked Roses until you are much older. Preferably in your 30's. And most people often have to have second or even third tries before becoming a knight. So I don't want everyone to become one on their first try unless they've trained vigorously.
- DO NOT try to battle against a knight when you're 16 or something, unless you want to be killed. They are specially trained to deal with anyone that challenges them or breaks the law. The only classes that can get away from them are bandits, because they can outrun them and climb up on buildings, and magic users IF they can teleport.
- I would like this to be an adventure roleplay too. Because staying in one place all the time can get a little boring. So, I will be making a map soon of the world with all of it's towns and cities. Perhaps a little help from the users too? :3 If you do, I'll love you foreverrrr! <3

- I have rights to change and add rules as I see fit.

Miles drew his bow, aiming carefully at the training dummy 1000 yards away. Lately, he'd been training hard with his other weapons and wanted to be sure he still at his steady-hand and accuracy, keeping them unaffected by the brute strength required to wield larger and heavier tools of war. Quickly taking into account the slight wind and the distance, Miles took a deep breath and released along with the string of his bow. The arrow zoomed away with a whoosh, barely taking the blink of an eye before it plunked into the eye of the dummy. Not giving himself any time to celebrate, he began to rapidly fire off a few more arrows, mindlessly yanking them from the quiver at his back. By the time he was done, he had an arrow in the other eye, the heart, the center of the forehead, the throat, and the foot of his imaginary enemy. only then did he allow himself to smile with satisfaction, casually walking to retrieve them. The first five arrows obviously hit the vital points of the enemy, ensuring a quick death, but he believed the last one to be key as well, practice for when he needs a target alive but hindered from escape. All those years ago, when he'd been eating rats raw, he never would have guessed that, eventually, he would be in a position to shoot precisely enough to achieve whatever end he desired. With such deadly abilities, he should soon find himself ranked as an orange rose. Miles fingered the mint green rose tattoo imprinted on the shallow between his thumb and index finger of his right hand. Hopefully, if he continued to push himself, he would be able to reach the rank of red rose before he hit 35. Only then would he allow himself to relax and enjoy his life, knowing it would be secured no matter what happened or who died. he would rely on his own strength alone.

Kurone stepped into his room, and threw off his armor and boots lazily at the edge of the bed, making a scrambled pile. He layed across the floor in front of a small fire. He sighed heavily and happily. "Another fruitfull day of helping others!" He said aloud, joyfully. Kurone had let five theives go, except without the things they stole, and smiled in the entire process. He was very happy that he could help others, and he felt lucky he wasn't killed yet. He hummed a little while dozing. A little song was going through his head. He stopped and suddenly jumped up. His door was still unlocked. "Crap.. I need to remember that." He said to himself. He locked the door and sat in a small chair and sighed again. He had given the street people all of his food today. No worry, that was a usual. He reclined and began humming again, and exmained his double sycthe. He thought of something and a smile drew across his face.

He could imagine it, carving the name of the person he himself loved, right into the the other blade. He knew what words were there in his mind, but he knew it wasn't likely. He practically jumped onto his bed, it's legs snapping and falling to the floor. Kurone stared at the wooden mess he made, then burst into laughing. "That was fun!" He shouted through his giggles.

# Linthe - City - Aqueducts, Underworld, 2010-09-11 22:43:47, as written by Senior Citizen
"You disgusting puddle of rat piss! Get your stank ass back where it belongs! Urgh you should be executed for polluting the air with your stench." It was odd, watching a slim raggedy figure get pushed down a flight of stairs
from far above perched on top of a tower, and at same time know it's you getting manhandled. Not that Egan couldn't feel the rough circulation-killing grip on his right arm, or the trust that made his skeletal body, pick off a little from the ground as it was shoved downward into the aqueducts levels of Lithe. The lower rank guards that petrol the sub-terrain entrances of Lithe to make sure the poor stay in their place, were the dumbest of the bunch. They threw their heads back in laughed, and then she was airborne watching the reflection of the setting sun upon Lithe's sparkling walls.

He turned his attention to the here and the now, he had a smirk, it never stopped amazing him just how easy it was to infiltrate Lithe. Maybe they should have more Roses but then how would the weeds feel special. He moved on further down the aqueducts, he could hear the never-ending rush of water that flowed throughout the sewers the great veins of the underworld, pumping the life giving element in and out of Lithe. The little foots steps of scurrying rats almost made him feel nostalgic, he couldn't help it he was home again after all. The foul smell of sewage made him aware that he was nearing a fork in the tunnel, he turned right towards the clean water where most of the people would be gathering for their super.

The pungent perfume of fried rat, rat on a stick, rat stew, and for those who were lucky enough to have flour, rat pot pie, permeated the air around him. "One bronze piece for a pie!", "brand new pants only 15 years old, all the wholes have been patched up real nice! Hey you, you look like you can use some new-ish pants!" It was funny the way the improvised merchants of the underworld mirrored their above level counter parts in some ways. He passed them by. "Please sir, do you have any food? My sister and I haven't anything to eat," it was times like these that Egan was almost glad he was blind. He could almost imagine what they looked like little boy and even littler girl, rags for clothes, ribs visible through the wholes of the cloth. "Here you go," He gave them half of a loath of bread and a piece of smoked ham. He continued walking "THIS IS REALLY GOOD THANKS!!!" He walked by a throng of windows, orphans, and old beggars, giving them each a piece of gold. He had to pick up the pace before he became overwhelmed with pleas. This was adding fuel to his fire.

Finally he reached another fork in the aqueduct, and then another. He came to a place far from any gathered crowds. A enormous pipe just above his carried the water up to the surface, he was right below West Lithe, and consequently it's most prestigious magical library, that was open to all of the upper-class public who studied magic. He needed to play the role of bandit tonight if he was to ever play the role of liberator. He withdrew his black kite from his coat, traced a small circle on the ground with it while chanting, and instantaneously a breeze came from both sides of the tunnel he was in, then gathered around him. He jumped into the water, he was inside of a man sized bubble.

It was a moonless night in Lithe, and all was dark and quiet, only sound that was heard was an occasional hoot from an owl, and the rush of water that came from a foutian, a gorgeous statue of black marble representing a water nymph formed the center piece of it. Suddenly rush of water from the fountain grew erratic, a low pitch thunderous growl was heard from underneath the fountain, and BAM! Marble chunks flew through the air, a massive bubble of water and air turned into a water spout (watery tornado), within it one of the most talented mages alive, though not yet a master. He ran towards the library and the waterspout matched his speed. He was ready to rumble should any weeds rear their ugly heads, but ideally he would be long gone before any showed up.

# The Roses Headquarters, 2010-09-11 23:32:16, as written by eleniel
Miriel walked down the corridor, her face completely empty of emotion. She was a bit bored to be honest, it had been a while since she had last had a mission of some sort. She had just been out running as usual every morning, and practicing with some of the lower ranked roses. She was not one of the youngest black roses for nothing, she had worked hard to get to her position performing far above her duty many times over while learning and training at an insane pace and she would be damned if she let herself get out of shape just because she was there. *Perhaps I should see Osvar* She thought, musing a bit. She did not usually like people at all, and she knew it but the head of the roses had grown on her in her somehow in her time as a rose. She respected him and what he did, and she always enjoyed his little tests, although the few times someone had stolen something from her on his orders she had easily caught them using that peculiar speed she could draw on. She had a feeling that he would think up something "special" for her after that though.

"Hmmm where could he be though." She said, this time thinking out loud, she honestly doubted he would be in his office, still it was probably best to check there first. So she turned down a hallway and started walking towards his office, knocking on the door gently once she got there.

# Linthe - City - Lower, 2010-09-12 11:53:49, as written by Dreamalot106
"NO! You can not join the Roses Rupart!" Cheyenne hears her mom shout as she slips past her parents' bedroom.

"Camille we've been over this. I can join. I can make myself useful. If I combine being a Rose with running the shop, we'll be able to move out of the middle class section of the city in no time. You don't really want to live in the lower part of the city anymore do you?" Rupert asks his wife calmly.

Camille sighs. "Rupert, what's wrong with the life we have now? This is so much more than any underworld dweller could even think of possibly having, and yet you've brought it all to us. I'm looking for a job now and Jaxon has already found himself a muse. And Cheyenne... Well, we really don't know anything about Cheyenne anymore do we? Always running around, never home..." Cheyenne pauses and hears her mother sigh. "Alright Rupert, you may attempt to join, but they probably won't even let you! You're almost fifty-three! Only Black Roses are of that age..."

"I know my dear, I know, but I will work hard and I will make my family proud of me."

"We already are my love, we already are..."

If anything else was said, Cheyenne missed it, for that's when she slipped down the hall and out of the house, tying her hair up out of her face quickly. She races to the far end of the house where she pulls a large green burlap sack out of the pushes. Grinning slightly, Cheyenne pulls her beloved broad swords out of the sack, but decides to leave the bow and arrows in it for now. Slinging the sack on her back, and sliding the swords into their proper places at her hips, Cheyenne sneaks away from the house, down a back alleyway, aiming for the not-so-nice part of the lower town where many of the more popular bars and ahem... Entertainment houses are kept.

Like always, it was the smell of the area that let Chey know she was nearing her destination. The smell of bodor odor, stale beer, sex, and cheap perfume were hardly unrecognizable. Blending in with the shadows the best she can, Cheyenne sneaks closer to one of the higher populated bars. Drunk men and giggling women were spilling out of every doorway. It made Cheyenne want to throw up, how these people could get so completely wasted and blow their money on such unimportant things such as alchohol and sex was a mystery to her, but made them easy targets. Drunken men seemed more eager to chase anything with long hair and two legs, whether they were wearing a skirt or not, which made them much more susceptible to being pick pocketed while they weren't paying attention.

"Hey gorgeous, whatcha doin' over here?" a man slurs from behind Cheyenne. Instead of bolting, she turns slowly, a fake, seductive smile plastered on her face. The man didn't seem to notice the fakeness.

"I was looking for someone actually," Chey says in a low, slick tone, mimicking the tone of voice harlots always seemed use whenever they lured their "customers" in.

"Oh really?" the man asks, an eyebrow raising. He sways slightly but keeps himself propped up by placing a hand on the wall of the building next to them. A clinking sound from his hip draws Cheyenne's eyes down for a fraction of a second. The man had a large, and heavily looking, coin purse attached to his hip by a thick cord. Chey's grin becomes more real as she moves closer to the man, forcing herself not to gag at the strong smell of alchohol and sex on him.

"Really," she replies smoothly, taking another slow step towards the man.

"And what does this man look like?" the guy asks, running his eyes over Cheyenne's curvy, silhoutted shape.

"Well... He's tall, has dark hair, and is very, very handsome..." Cheyenne says lowly, stepping up to the man, running her left hand over his chest as her right hand takes her small but sharp pocket knife out of the waistband of her pants. She flips the knife open and places it against the cord attaching the heavy coin purse to the man's hip. "And..."

"And?" the man breathes as Cheyenne moves her face closer to his, her hand trailing up his chest to his neck then jaw.

"And... He's definitely not you!" Cheyenne says, slapping the man hard against the cheek as the cord slices easily, the coin purse dropping to the ground. The man is broken out of his trance-like drunken state by the loud sound of the coins hitting the stone ground and Cheyenne's stinging slap. "The underworldlings will thank you for this! And tell those pathetic Rose guards that The Green One wins again!" Chey laughs as she scoops up the heavy coin purse and runs down the alleyway, heading towards a back entrance way into the aqueducts.

"Guards! GUARDS! I've just been robbed! That thief just took twenty-seven hundred gold pieces from me!!!!" the man bellows at the top of his lungs.

'Twenty-seven hundred gold pieces? No wonder the bag's so heavy...' she thinks fleetingly as she flees down the alleyway, turning onto another, darker one then another one branching off of it. She doesn't even pause to wonder if anyone was following her, she was close enough to the entrance that it wouldn't really matter whether anyone was following her or not.

Miles wasn't in uniform. He probably should keep his uniform on at all times, but when he visited his old home, a habit of late, he liked to keep a low profile. It was hard to reenact the life he had before in order to more appreciate what he had now when people didn't avoid him. He wondered what the other Roses would think if they knew he was 'mucking' about his old hunting grounds. He smiled to himself at that, glancing around the street full of drunken losers and desperate women, hoping to earn a penny with whatever they could offer. As he scanned the familiar area, a figure caught his eye. It's not that she stood out. In fact, she seemed very at ease in the rotten place, but she definitely wasn't a prostitute or a rich lady looking for a good time. In fact, deep in his bones, he knew exactly what she was, seeing that determined, oh so familiar look in her eyes. He'd once had that look in his own, determination.

He watched her carefully from across the crowd, his eyes carefully following her until she found her prey, and he was headed in her direction before she even had the purse. The moment the idiot, drunken man realized what had happened and began bellowing, Miles had already reached his side. He murmured a quick word about being right on it and not to make a scene before he was after her, his eyes never leaving her fleeing form. He didn't really care for the dogs who came to this place, but it was his duty to protect them. He wouldn't hurt the girl, but he would stop her, at least this time.

Miles picked up his pace, weaving through the alleyways as naturally as she. It may have been 20 years since he'd navigated the streets, but he would never forget. He tread as silently as he could at such a fast pace, but he wasn't too worried. He trained every day for 20 years, and his physique was unmatched. He wasn't even winded when he reached the girl and snatched her wrist, the momentum of their running causing him to yank her backward to face him. He winced, hoping his grip hadn't hurt her too badly, but he didn't hesitate to tighten his hand around her slim and delicate arm, not hard enough to bruise but hard enough to ensure she wouldn't escape.

"Hand over the purse, milady," he said with a politeness that didn't hide his steely tone. He pitied people reduced to this, but he couldn't afford to indulge that pity. He knew his place, and he would stay worthy of it.

Will was walking down a long hallway. There were no doors or windows, just an ever expanding corridor. His footsteps echoed endlessly in the dark expanse, being the only sound until- thud. He had run into a large set of oak doors. Why didn't I see those there before? William grasped the bronze handles and pulled. Bright light emanated from behind the entrance. When his eyes adjusted, Will saw what was within the room. "Princess Eve?" he cried, surprised by his current circumstances. "What are you doing here?"

The princess didn't respond. Will took a step towards her, but he didn't get any closer. He began walking, then running. No matter how much he ran, he didn't get any closer. "Eve!" he called, but to no avail, as Eve never got any closer. Will collapsed on the ground, exhausted. Suddenly, a soft voice called out, "Will!" Will looked up. It was the Princess who had spoken! "Will," she called again. "William!" She began to walk towards him, arm extended. Just as she was about to reach him...

BAM!!!!!

Will screamed as he fell of the chair he was sitting on. A large welt formed on his head as he looked around for what had hit him. On the floor next to him was a rather thick volume of the Encyclopedia Arcana. "You all right?" his father, Xavier asked.

"You think?" Will replied, slightly irked, but laughing. "Did it have to be that volume? You know it's the heaviest! Besides, it's like, nine o'clock. What do you need me for this late at night?"

"The King believes it necessary for the archives to have more documents on elemental magic," Mr. Mason said. "Don't ask me why. Since I have a lot of work for you to do, I need you to run by the public Arcane Library and pick up some things. Here's a list." Xavier handed his son a piece of parchment. "Don't worry, it's open 24-7. Now, hop on it!"

---

Will pulled his coat around him and shivered slightly as he walked. The crisp air enveloped him, chilling his skin with its breath. He was going at a fast walk; it was a pretty long distance from the palace to the library. After about twenty minutes of walking, Will finally came in sight of the library. He increased his speed to a slow jog and made it to the opened double doors in about a minute. He was about to step inside when there was a loud crash in the square behind him. Will whipped around, searching for the source of the noise. A water mage of some sort had blasted his way out of the square! He seemed pretty angry, and wasn't slowing down as he sped towards the library.

Water! Will thought frantically. The books in there will be ruined!

Will sprinted inside and grabbed one of the heavy wooden doors, struggling to get it closed.

Slowly, and lazily, Kurone woke up. "Oh crap!" He noticed he was up late. The sun was up and shining. "I'm late for work!" He slipped on his armor like lightning, grabbed his weapon and burst out. He hurried to his postion, and suddenly realized something really bitter. He had left the clothes he had mended for the homeless at his room. He cursed under his breath. He had to stay in his postion. He had also missed lunch. "WHAT A DAY ALREADY." He thought to himself. This was not going to be his day. All he needed was some murder or child or animal abuser, and BOOM! His day would definately be ruined. He sighed and straightened up. He wanted to help everyone, everyday. He knew he had to take care of himself once in a while, but just... He couldn't ever stand a day where he couldn't at least help one person. "Oh well... I'll sneak off and get the clothes." He ran to the Roses Headquarters, taking a route that avoided most rose postions. He had no idea if any rose was going to see him though. Thats what scared him.

He safely got to his room, suprisingly enough. "There they are!" He said joyfully. Kurone was not a professional sewer, and looking at the clothes, you could tell. At least he got it all in one piece though. He put the articles over his arm and walked out, this time walking, not running, and didn't care if the roses saw him. Most would think he was going to his postion late. They didn't see him leave his postion, but why should they even care? That was the question that kept Kurone alive. Why so many roses had not reported him....yet... As he was walking down the streets, he dropped the clothing to the people, smiling at them. "Here y'are." He would usually say or "Here you go ma'am!" (Or sir, whichever the person happened to be.)

Eve sat looking around her giant room in the royal palace, filled with gold, silver and jewels. Everything had to be the biggest and the very best. Eve hated it. She had everything, the poor had nothing. They irony was horrid. All Eve did was try to help as best she could, study and be forced to learn to be proper. These starving people broke their backs to serve her, yet they starve. “Where is the justice!?” She would think to herself. If she because ruler one day… Things would be different. If she had to give up every precious jewel she coveted and the things she loved, she would for the people. She loved her life style, she hated that its cost is starving children.

Eve looked out her window, her body guard was in the bath room. She would finally escape tonight. Eve lifted herself half out the window and remembered that she forgot to grab food for the people.

Iris ran wildly through the woods, she was on the hunt. It was for an assassin against the king. Iris, the deadly and young black rose was born in a vicious life style, raised by the barbarians who killed her village. Then, she killed the village of barbarians, single handed. She had infinite skill in the areas of fighting. Working to be better than those far older than herself. Iris was deadly and threatening. She stopped and crouched like a black panther, shooting her bow. It went directly through the heart, an easy and quick kill. Iris bagged the man and threw him over her shoulder, so he would have a proper burial.

She didn’t have to carry him far, because you can’t get far from a black rose. She headed to the grave yard where she buried the man. Most roses didn’t burry their dead. They left them for the animals. However, Iris wasn’t like other roses, she was broken and wanted to be free of it. However the king would never allow a loss of such skill. Iris sighed as she ran to Osvar’s position to give him a repot. When Iris got there, he wasn’t there…

Cheyenne's breath releases in one swift woosh when her wrist is snatched suddenly. This was something she had definitely not expected. She had never been caught before; no one ever seemed capable of following her through the alleys as well as this man had. A grimace flashes across her face as her wirst pops, not in a painful way, just an odd one. Too bad it was gonna bruise anyway. Stupid fair skin.

Chey's eyebrows raise up when the man moves from her wrist to her forearm, gripping it lightly, but securely. His politeness only adds to the surprise factor. Her eyes narrow slightly at his underlying steeliness. "That pig doesn't need this. And despite what you may think, it's not for me either. So if you don't mind-" she pauses and twists her arm in his grip pushing it up, stepping up closer to him, their arms bent above their heads "- I must be on my way. I cannot be late for my meeting later. Perhaps I'll see you around sometime. We can chat more then." Cheyenne kisses the guy's cheek, fluidly hooking her leg around his own and pulling at the knee, causing it to buckle underneath him.

Quickly stepping away from the falling guard, Chey twists again in the man's grip, sliding out of it easily. She takes a a hand full of coins and drops the bag with the rest of the coins on the ground. "There. You've partially succeeded," Chey says as she slips away into the shadows of the alley, entering the aqueducts through a small, mostly unknown entrance.

Kenneth smiled as he watched the older officer walk down the streets, dropping off clothes. They were horrible, but Kenneth didn't have the heart to tell the man. He worked so hard on them after all, and his heart was in the right place.

Kenneth had been heading out for his patrol, touching his pair of weapons every so often. The feel of cool metal was calming to him, and doubled as a way to remind him that his swords hadn't been stolen yet. You never could be too sure while patrolling, and knowing where your weapon was at any time was more of an essential than a good idea.

"You know Kurone, you're going to be late to your post if you keep this up." It wasn't really the place of a lower ranked Rose to criticize a higher rank, but Kurone wasn't really a stickler for protocol. "Come on, let me help you. Maybe some cute young lady would be willing to show her appreciation." Kenneth sent the older man a smile. Neither of them was married: in fact as far as he could tell, very few members of the Roses were. What fun was being a member of the Roses if we couldn't enjoy some of the benefits?

Twisting the final strands of hair around in a bun, she secured it tightly so that there was no chance of it coming down. Her hands fell to her sides, as Erin Heynee watched the pale faced girl with bright eyes watching her. This girl had rosy cheeks and full red lips and was somewhat pretty, though she would never admit it, not to anyone. Tucking a stray tendril of hair behind her ear, she gave her reflection one last look. She turned away from the mirror, slipping her uniform over her head. It was blue, to match her rank of blue Rose, something that she was fairly proud of, considering the fact that she was only twenty seven years of age. Her leggings were next, also blue in colour. Smoothing it down with careful fingers, she took a deep breath, slipping her sword on her belt. She sat down to pull on her knee length boots, tucking her two daggers out of sight. It wasn't the most comfortable thing, but it gave her reassurance. She was finally ready to set off and turned for the door. When she opened the door, she was surprised to find Kiane waiting for her. After jumping slightly, she smiled brightly at her brother. She waved her hand once to signal "hello" to him, for there was no way that he could hear her. He copied her motion, before rapidly signalling to her with various hand movements and the mouthing of words. Erin sometimes found it difficult to keep up with his constant babbling via signals, but she tried her best and responded appropriately. The language of signs had been created by Erin after her brother had been turned deaf by an unknown infection. He could still speak, but often didn't know what volume his voice was at and so he shouted. And so that's how the signals were formed.

Raising a hand, she signalled that she must go, for she had to get to work. He nodded once in response, turning to leave her be. She caught his hand and kissed his cheek lightly. She'd be home soon and they'd be able to talk some more. Kiane grinned at her, before heading off down the long, wide corridor. It couldn't be said that Erin's family were poor, for it was the complete opposite. They lived in a grand house that exceeded most, with more rooms than they needed. It was surely a place of beauty with arches and columns and statues. They even had a huge fountain in their courtyard, which Erin loved the most. As she headed for the door, she glanced into her father's study. He was asleep in the chair, no doubt he had been up all night. She pulled the door to, so he could be allowed to rest and informed their housekeeper where he was, so that she might check in on him. Grabbing an apple from the pantry, she left the house with a spring in her step.

Walking down the street, she was careful to watch for anything that might be trouble. She passed a few Red Roses on patrol, nodding to each one in turn. Though she was not big-headed in any way, she had always loved the look of awe on their faces when they came across her. She was after all a private bodyguard to one of the princesses and that was something to be proud of. Princess Eve was her charge and as of late Erin had been having some difficulties with her disappearing and then reappearing at odd times. Her first thought was a forbidden boy that the girl had fallen for. She hoped that in her absence the princess had run off again. Although she was supposed to report anything that seemed odd, she would never think of getting Eve into trouble, for she had grown an attachment to the girl and felt it was her own responsibility to marshal her. Entering the castle, she looked for any signs of the girl, but she could almost guarantee that she would be up in her chamber. So heading through the gloomy corridors, she aimed for the chambers of Princess Eve. Her step was light and she was barely noticed in the shadows, just the way she liked it. Once she reached the door, she knocked twice before entering, just as she would normally. She was no serving girl. It caught her as a surprise to see the Princess halfway out of the window. So much so that she stopped mid-track and simply stared for a few seconds before her brain kicked in.

"Miss Eve, what are you doing?" She asked her voice sharp and worried, her face reflecting that feeling as well. "You'd better get down from there! You could get yourself killed!" Erin hurried to the window, in order to help her charge down from the window. The truth was that Erin suspected something more than a forbidden courting lad. There was something more going on there. But she could not ask outright that was going on in the girl's mind. She would have to be much more subtle about the whole thing. But could she discover what the princess was hiding? Was there really more going on beneath the surface? Erin just didn't know anymore, but she knew that whatever it was it was putting her charge in danger and she would never allow that to happen.

With a loud metallic ringing of her bell, Mamimi announced the closing of her little stand in the middle of the marketplace. It was only mid-day, but she couldn't leave things to anyone else. No one knew the herbs and how to combine them like she did. Well, her mentor did, but he was away on business. She waited for any last minute buyers. When no one came, she wrapped up her reagents in a satchel. It took longer than usual, because her assistant was off running her errands for her. She buckled the satchel to the harness she wore in place of a shirt and fastened her cloak closer around her body.

Mamimi often wished she still had her right arm, but she managed to live without it for this long and could continue to do so. She ducked around a corner and after checking to make sure no one was watching, she began to scale a dilapidated old brick structure. In the second floor was where she stored her goods and tools, so she deposited her cache here. She unbuckled her satchel and dropped it to the floor, and then with a grin she leapt out of the window across the room from her entrance and started her free-run. She usually kept to the upper quarters, on account of the quality of rooftops there, but she had to make it to the den for a meeting with her clan.

The joy of the run never left her, even though she had done it a thousand times. However, they say that familiarity breeds contempt, and it is true. After making one particularly risky jump, one that she had made a thousand times before, the tiles on that specific section of roof gave way and sent her plummeting to the ground. Luckily for her, a peasant was moving a cart of hay and there weren't any pitchforks in it. With a loud "Oof!" she disappeared into the cart. Unfortunately, the impact force of her body broke the axle of it and she was ejected roughly.

After struggling to her feet, Mamimi brushed the stray hay off her body and pulled a bit out of her hair. With a calm and practiced eye, she scanned the crowd in front of her for Roses, whilst internally she was on the verge of hyperventilation. She thought she was clear until she turned and saw two Roses staring. One was a rather older man, whom she knew to be Kurone, but the younger one she didn't recognise. It didn't really matter anyway, as as soon as she noticed the two, she turned and took off full blast.

Egan Fez a.ka. "The Weed Whacker" His heart pounded hard against his chest and his legs grew weak for a moment, as he was hit with a burst of panic. He always hated these few seconds, when wrapped in a gust of furious wind, he could not hear a thing outside his cyclone, he felt blind. What an irony it was for Egan that he should excel in air above all elements. He steadied his breath and opened his mind, and now he saw the library, a small toy building that got larger and larger. Onyx flew by him masterfully measuring the distance that would keep her safe from spiraling into the vortex, he saw the raging water spout in of his production, and then the wooden double doors of the entrance. He made haste to get as much against the wall as he could, he lifted his hand up and his kite which had been whirling around in the tornado, it dropped into the storm's center, and he caught it with ease. The gusts slowed down until it was a spinning breeze, the water swirled strangely in a circle of wind, that would be moving to slow to keep it in the air if it weren't being suspended by some mystic force.

With one hand on the head of the kite, and the other on the string he threw it up in the air, as if he were in a park on a nice windy day and intended to fly it. A gust of wind that originated by the now tame cyclone yanked it upwards, it went about the property blowing out all torches. Satisfied with the darkness Onyx saw, Egan withdrew a small empty leather bag from his coat, as soon as it was opened the whirl wind in front of him began to swish into it's opened mouth water and all. Egan held tightly to the bag and the kite's string, he resisted the force of the wind. Closing the bag loosely he then began wrapping the kite's sting round his arm. Onyx perched herself on his shoulder, he had held the opening of the back in front of him, as if it were the end of a cross bow. He was about to utter an incantation when, he thought of something...Only a moron busts into a closed door, before checking whether or

Egan Fez a.ka. "The Weed Whacker" not it's locked. He opened a slit without a problem. He felt anxious now could this be a trap, could the roses possibly know he were coming? Was it possible that the library was now open 24 hours a day? It was to late to turn back now, Egan opened the doors in full, and let out some of the wind from his bag, he directed it at all but one torch. Owls couldn't see in the complete darkness four walls with no light source would bring, but they could see just fine inside a warehouse with a mere candle to light their path. He ran and she took flight, and then he saw it from the edge of her eye as she passed him, was that a boy? He Egan crashed into something soft and alive, and they both hit the ground with a thud. Startled Egan lost his concentration, and he was blind once again. He heard a gasp and a whimper, and felt a form struggling underneath him, he quickly got to his feet and focused his mind and summoned back his torch blowing breeze. Onxy was on top of a bookshelf behind the stranger, he could see the back of the boy's head more importantly his clothes he bared the garb of someone who worked for the royal archives, as far as he could tell. Egan instantly disliked him anyone who worked for anything to do with royalty that didn't involved a mop, bucket, or cooking pots must be a blood sucking noble. He saw his own shocked face, he molded it into a threatening scowl just in case it were possible for the boy to see it in the dim light. "Don't move" he said as sternly as he could muster, but his voice was rather hoarse as he was nervous at the way the situation was spinning out of control. He motioned for Onyx to begin flying, she swooped and zagged in and out of the corridors of books, Egan reading the labels, with any luck he could be out of here with what he wanted, without having to hurt the little leech. He hoped to leave the boy unscathed more then he would actually admit to himself.

Eve exhaled in failure and defeat when Erin walked through the door and stopped her. She loved her body guard Erin. She was strong and protective of her. It seemed more than just her job but out of true friendship and love. Eve sighed and plopped on her bed. One of many reasons why her father had employed Erin as her personal body guard was that she was able to stop Eve easily. For some reason Eve felt inclined to listen to Erin, though she still tried to do what she wanted when she wanted, unlike any other body guard. Had this been anyone else, Eve would have pitched a fit or tried to leap out the window anyway.

Eve sat up from her hugely cushy bed and looked at her friend. “Oh Erin.. I just need to get out…” Eve lied. She knew that no matter how good of friend Erin was, she could not ignore the king’s order to train Eve to be more lady-like. This meant absolutely no contact with poor people. If Eve would have told Erin the truth, she might get her windows bared or even more surveillance time.

"Well holy shit!" The midday bell of the marketplace has rung a little while before, many shopkeepers choosing to take a siesta to reopen at the cooler parts of the day when more people were around. It was a common time for pickpockets, so Kenneth had been expected perhaps a few errant thiefs and squabbles. What he hadn't been expecting was a woman to fall from the sky (well, from a rooftop) and crash into a cart. He immediately dropped the clothes, running in the direction of the fallen woman.

"Are you alright?"

The cart that she had landed on was now a right mess, the axle snapped. By all accounts the woman (at least he thought it was a woman, the cloak she was wearing did obscure the lines of her body) should be laying in a heap after such an insane accident. Rather than reply, the woman bounded up with a wild look, locking on to him and Kurone with a look he recognized all to well.

Fear. Guilt.

A moment later the woman (the face was feminine enough for him to say that definitely now) bolted in the opposite direction. If she had just crashed, he probably would have been fine just asking her what she was doing and letting her go. But now she had just destroyed the property of an innocent bystander, and ran away from the proper authorities. Something was certainly up.

"Kurone, we've got a runner!" In retrospect he might have wanted to ask Kurone if he knew this person, as the older man had a greater amount of experience in the region, but DAMN if that girl couldn't run. "I'm going after her!"

Even weighted down by his light armor, he managed to go after the woman at a pretty decent clip. "Stop right there! You've damaged private property, cease your flight at once!" She certainly wouldn't, but now no one could complain that he hadn't tried things by the book.

Miles was shocked to suddenly hit the ground, his knee painfully slamming onto the concrete. The girl was gone before he could react. Miles cursed himself as he collected the coins and stood. His first mistake had been to underestimate her. He couldn't assume that every thief was street riffraff looking for a coin to pay for their next meal. It's just that the setting and her determination hit so close to home that he couldn't imagine any alternative. His second mistake was to be caught off guard by her kiss. No matter what tactic, he couldn't let his defense down before anyone. Still, the girl had spiked his curiosity. He wondered what, if she wasn't stealing for herself, she was stealing for.

Miles headed back to the busy street, quickly finding the man the girl had stolen from. Despite Miles assurances, the man was kicking up a fuss, yelling this way and that. Miles suddenly felt very tired. He may have moved up in life, and he may have a duty towards these people, but Miles had never really gotten over his dislike for the scum aristocracy, the very same dirt-bags who had thrown him out of his own home when he was merely a child to steal from him all that was rightfully his. Miles pushed through the crowd and approached the man.

"I've recovered your money, sir," he said without emotion, handing the now lighter coin purse back to its owner. The man drunkenly snatched it away and poked through its contents only to look up at Miles with a glare.

"There is some missing," he accused with a scowl. Miles felt cold anger take over, but he only allowed a whisper of danger to creep into his voice. It was all this cur needed to be put in his place.

"I assure you that it is the same amount you had when you lost it. You are clearly very drunk. You must have spent more than you intended to," Miles explained. He didn't know why he was covering up for the girl. The only explanation he had was that he knew she was probably worth more as a person than this man ever would. The man, properly humbled, shrank back and miserably tucked the purse back into his clothing. It was out of curiosity that he dared to look at Miles again.

"What did you do with the girl?" he asked. Miles allowed a sneer to slide into his features. He was sneering because of his disgust with the man, but he very well knew what the man's, and everyone watching's, impression would be.

"Why?" he asked shortly, "What do you think I did with her?" Without waiting for any response, Miles stalked away, pounding his anger at the man and Miles' own action onto the ground as he walked. He hadn't felt this angry in a while, and when he realized this, he stopped, his anger evaporating. Why was he angry? Because he'd been defeated? Or because of the scumbag? No, he realized, a blush of surprise coming to his cheeks. He was angry, because the girl had gotten away before he could have a chance to speak with her. Damn! Miles thought to himself. He needed to be more careful. If he wasn't he could end up falling for a thief. With the determination to lock away what had made him so angry, Miles calmed in demeanor and made his way back to the Roses. He wouldn't lose all he worked for.

The man was nearly at the doors of the library when William was finally able to close them. I've gotta find something to fight him with, he thought frantically, looking around the well-lit library. There were several suits of armor laying around the antechamber, but when Will attempted to pry the weapons from their cold, hard fingers, he soon saw that they had been fixed in place. "Think, think!" Will murmured to himself as he paced around the room. "I need to do something!"

Will stopped in his tracks and face palmed himself. This is an arcane library, for crying out loud, he reasoned as he rushed into the main library. There must be some sort of beginners guide! The apprentice rushed up and down the isles, glancing at the labels engraved on the bookshelves. It wasn't long before he found the 'novice' section. Will grabbed the first volume he saw off the shelf. It read "An Introduction to Fire Magic". This'll have to do, he thought, wrenching open the book. He skimmed through the introduction until he got to the basics of spellcasting. He barely got through the first few steps before a powerful gust of wind blew out nearly all of the lights in the library.

Why the hell didn't I lock the door
? Will asked himself as he crept over to the entry area of the library. The mage was standing there with a black kite of some sort. Fearing he'd be seen, Will dropped to the ground and hid under a table. He saw the man send a black owl out to scout the library's shelves. An owl? Will thought, bewildered. I've never seen one of those in real life before. Shaking his head in an attempt to clear his mind, Will looked for a way out. He scanned the walls until- HA! he thought, nearly shouting with joy. Over in the corner of the building was the entrance to the local signal tower. Will had learned that a few decades ago, the king had signal towers placed at strategic points around the city, to help the Roses keep track of what's happening. If a major crime was being committed, someone would just have to climb up the tower and turn on the signal.

Without any warning, Will burst forward towards the tower, but soon ran into another person. "Don't move" [the man] said as sternly as he could muster, but his voice was rather hoarse as he was nervous at the way the situation was spinning out of control. Will looked up to see that it was the man that tried to break into the library, the air wizard! Will took his advice and remained silent, but his mind was whirring.

The secret to fire manipulation is willpower, Will recited in his mind. He closed his eyes and concentrated. Slowly but surely, Will could feel a subtle warmth building inside him. Will slowly stood up to a standing position, as not to startle his captor, and straightened his robe. "Whatever you're trying to steal, I won't let you!" he yelled forcefully, extending his arms towards the man. A pitiful shower of sparks shot from them, but disappeared well before they hit the mage. Great, Will chastised himself. Now I've been promoted to Swedish fire steel. Without a second thought, he made a break for the signal tower stairs.

At first, the only sounds she could hear was her own breathing and the sound of her footsteps as she ran. Slowly, she realized that there was a second set of feet after her. Throwing a quick glance over her shoulder, she saw the younger Rose chasing after her. Damn! I didn't know they had Roses this quick! she raged. Seizing on an opportunity, Mamimi jumped around a corner to her left and tried to run along the surface of the wall to a window ledge. Unfortunately, she was on the wrong side of the alley and when she tried to turn to grab it with her left hand, she lost momentum and tumbled to the ground.

"Ohh...How embarrassing. I haven't taken a spill in years. If the den catches wind of this...Who am I kidding. Of course they're going to catch wind of this. They catch wind of everything."

And of course when one is monologueing after a spill, one tends to get caught. No surprises this time. Just as she was struggling to her feet, Mamimi heard the footsteps clatter to a halt. Absolute in the knowledge that she was going to be caught, she started to run again anyways. Too bad that she sprained her ankle in the fall and she went headfirst into a clumsy roll.

"Fine! Just beat me and get it done. I don't have time for the petty mind games you Roses love so much!" she shouted into the air. If she had time to cool off, she wouldn't have said anything like that, but anger gets the best of everyone. Deep in the dark corners of her heart, she hoped that this mystery Rose had seen something in her, some potential, that would make him want her on their side. This thought was so deep inside her, though, it was like a delicate flower growing among choking weeds. No one had ever heard of a slummer joining the Roses and living amongst the high-born. Especially one that looked such as she. The man approached her and looked down at her, his expression hard for her to see, what with her vision being cloudy from the hot tears in her eyes. It was good that her cloak hid her face from him, as tears were treated as the ultimate humiliation amongst her and her kin.

Egan kept the bulk of his focus on what Onyx's eyes saw, he could still however hear the boy stirring, he decided to give him some freedom of movement so long as he did not move from the stop. Should the boy have a dagger with him, he was confident he would hear the sound of it being unsheeved with his keen ears. The boy stood to his full height, Onyx had passed the necromancy section he never knew and was surprised that those darkest of arts was actually legal in Lithe, but then again all sorts of savageries were. "What ever you're trying to steal I won't let you!" The boy yelled. Egan tensed up and focused on the spot, this was a battle cry, he knew the boy was about to attack. His ears searched for the sounds of a weapon being retrieved instead, he heard the subtle sizzle of basic level fire magic. He held the kite string tightly ready to deflect any spells, he hadn't any idea the boy was a mage, and Egan wasn't the sort to ever underestimate an opponent. A sort of barely noticeable warmth caressed his face.

"Th-that's it?" Egan said more to himself then the stranger who's footsteps he now heard moving away from him. He was in disbelief that such a novice showed that sort of valor, noble leeches were usually only bold, when they were hiding behind the weeds. If anything he could have sworn that this was the kid's first attempt ever at magic, how he longed to find an apprentice or five similar in talent and demeanor to this little leech, amongst the people of the aqueducts. His footsteps were growing fainter, but Onyx kept her sites on him. He sped towards the signal tower as fast as he could. Egan wasn't remotely worried, he almost felt like a bully in fact when he opened his bag just a smidge and a small whirlwind went after the boy. With his masterful control he made sure it was fierce enough to carry a light weight like this kid, but not injure him. Onyx hooted almost mockingly at the boy as the cyclone swept him off his feet! He spun within it as it moved backwards towards Egan. The wind began to slow steadily until the boy fell with a soft thud, a gentle but potentiality threatening breeze en circulating him. "First of all, I'm not stealing anything I'm taking back! Knowledge should be available to everyone, yet you'll note that not everyone is aloud into a so called public library!," Egan yelled angrily, and then he lowered his voice, but gave it a more menacing tone. "And second of all...I had told you not to move." He sighed despite himself, he didn't want to appear weak of heart. "If you're going to be such a pest then you're going to make this a lot quicker and painless for the both of us. You're a royal archivist right?" Egan said the word royal with such disgust you would have thought he were talking about maggoty meat. "Then I'm sure you know your way around every library in Lithe including this one, I'm going to call out titles and you're going to lead me to them. Don't try to pull any shinanagins, that wind can turn violent at an instant."

Erin sighed, following the girl to the bed and sitting on the edge. She knew, from experience, that if it had been anyone else in her position, the princess would have screamed and thrown a tantrum. Fortunately Erin had her under control and Eve listened to what she had to say. They had developed a friendship, one that she valued greatly. This girl and her brother were the only two people she would give her life for and her father of course. They had a special place in her heart and she no intention of letting the princess get hurt. The poor were dangerous and it was her duty to protect them. But she could see why the princess tried to escape to help them. Against her better judgement, she decided something quickly. "I have things to do today Eve. I understand you want to get out, but I can't allow that. They are dangerous Miss Eve. Therefore I shall post a guard outside your door." She got up, brushing herself off and looking seriously at the girl. "I want you to be here when I get back Eve. I mean that. I'm not your babysitter and you're free to do as you wish, within reason." She headed for the door, reaching for the handle, before she turned back. "And upon my return we will practise your manners for the Big Feast." She smiled brightly at the girl. "I'm sure you have been going over them when I haven't been here." Bowing to her charge, she left the room, calling a Red Rose to the door and instructing him not to go in, but to make sure that if she left then he was to follow her. He nodded and she left, walking down the darkened corridor, chewing her bottom lip. Eve had been sneaking off for weeks and she didn't doubt that she would now. As her Protector she should have followed her, but she hoped that Eve would listen to her words and stay in the room.

She had every intention of heading towards the library, in an attempt to research something. Her mind was elsewhere as she wandered the streets, heading in the general direction of the library. Would Eve obey her? Or would she do as she wished? Erin hoped that the girl would be alright, or she would feel so guilty. Pursing her lips, she turned as corner, walking straight into someone else, knocking her backwards so much that she had to balance herself. Instantly she flipped to defensive, straightening herself, expecting one of the poor to be leering at her. "Watch it..." She started, then caught sight of the mint green uniform. She was never rude to another Rose, no matter what. Frowning, she smoothed her own blue uniform, before crossing her arms. She studied the Rose, looking at his face for a few seconds. She recognised him. "I know that face." She muttered, studying him closely. It was part of her duty to have a brilliant memory and something clicked into place. "Miles right?" She asked, an eyebrow rose, hoping that she had the right name. No, he was definitely Miles. He looked troubled and Erin's natural curiosity kicked in. "What's up with you? You look like one of the poor just stabbed you in the back." Little did she realise that she was pretty close to the truth.

Kenneth began to pant as he chased the woman. He had seen some of the theives in this area, and knew that often it was a true exercise in futility. He was fast, but she was faster (especially while he was in armor) and she likely knew the area better. It was a foregone loss, especially after she made a sharp turn around a corner, usually a sign that someone was gone for good.

At least it was until he rounded the corner and found the woman sprawled on the ground."Fine! Just beat me and get it done. I don't have time for the petty mind games you Roses love so much!" The woman cried, her eyes now filled with tears

Kenneth grabbed the woman and pushed her against the wall, patting her down to check her possessions. You never could tell where a hidden blade could be stored, and with one pulled on him from a range such as this there was a chance she could go for his unarmored throat. His hands moved up her legs, and along her thighs, perhaps closer than necessary but not quite indecent. The real shock was when he got to her torso, feeling a large gap where an arm should me.

That explained quite a lot, like the look of fear. All Roses used violence differently, and considering her reaction she had been on the wrong end of one of the bad ones. This presented him with a dilemma: he could be completely justified in taking her in after that display, but capturing and subduing an disarmed (maybe not the best choice of words) woman was not going to do much for him, and would likely anger many of the passerbys. Or, perhaps there was another option.

"There. I've caught you. My search has revealed no stolen or illegal items and while I could have you taken in for resisting a Rose, that would be such a waste of time and paperwork." He gave the woman a gentle smile. "Now, we can play this two ways: I either take you to jail, which will be a headache for me and worse for you, or I can take you back to the man who's cart you broke and you promise to pay him and keep your nose clean. Either way, it keeps me from having to chase after you again."

Kenneth gave the woman a low chuckle. "And believe me when I say that I don't want to chase you again. You're fast woman. That was an impressive display. Except for the falling of course."

Re: [OOC] The Roses

I.. have to agree. however if enough people notice this I will continue if possible.

Re: [OOC] The Roses

*sigh* I know it's ironic that about two weeks ago, I was talking of not letting this RP die and then I stopped posting, I could continue if you guys want thing is, while I saw a lot of potential in this story, e.i rebellion, Natat wanting to take advantage of Linthe's weakness, epic 3 way battle ensuing with sword fight, magic, and steam-punk tanks type things, plus a lot of romance possibilities between all the different characters made here, most people who made one never even posted once, and of those who did seem to have all but abandoned this, I admit I've been neglect full too. In either case I wonder if we have enough people anymore to keep this going so anyone still interested can you please say so, and maybe we can get some sort of a storyline going. If not eleniel it was fun fighting with you, to bad this might end when are characters were starting be come friends or well uneasy allies, heh.

Also for krazy tiger, and syrafay, that kind of tornado doesn't reach all the way up to the clouds, it can be attack from the top plus if the kite going around in it is chopped of it would cease, (course he has a spare) I don't know my maneuver seemed to overpowered, or unapproachable, the chase would have been fun though, a little disgusting but fun none the less. :D Well we'll see what happens.

Re: [OOC] The Roses

Hah, its alright you were gone so long Senior, at least you are back now. And there are just some things that cannot be controlled.

Could you describe in more detail exactly what egan did with the wind? Is he backing up while creating a giant wall with tons of it, or is he just making the cyclone bigger.

LOL man I'm so sorry I can see what you mean by incoherent, I was really sleepy when I posted that. U_U I edited the horrendous sentence fragments that don't make any sense. Anyways, he summoned the whirlwind that was keeping Will prisoner next to him when he heard foot steps, but also he let out more air from the bag, and had it circulate a wider area around them as a soft barely noticeable breeze, it's radius maybe takes about 5 corridors of books. He's till got the old whirlwind which is now a mini tornado with him, and he's extracting air from that bigger circulation and placing it between them in such away that is not noticeable, so that when she attacks he'll have a weapon or defense against her.

Re: [OOC] The Roses

LMAO nice! Thanks so much for telling me! Only thing for me to do now is decide what to have my person do... Cuz I'm assuming it's been at least a couple hours since her interrupted pick-pocketing... lol

eleniel wrote:Well egan should have expected a bunch of people to come running, he broke into a giant library openly not even trying to hide it.

That being said I am sure that he has a few tricks up his sleeves and will be able to get away, I am /very/ tired right now so I won't type up a reply until later, I prefer being completely coherent when writing.

Oh I know I wasn't seriously complaining, but now I have to figure a way out if this without god moding lulz. :P Probably back in the day during the original rebellion he tried dressing up as a noble and using a fake I.D. to check out books which would seem like the smart thing to do, but his general description (tall skinny dark hair, wind expert, and blind) is probably well known. Picking up braille books on wind magic which are rare to boot, and have probably been removed from the library, without having pre-summoned air, his kite on hand, and Onyx watching his back, would probably ensure his capture. So he had to do it the butt-headed way plus...he IS butt-headed! Egan may be smart but he lacks common sense his hate for upper class people is very black and white with no gray, he's full of good intentions and bright ideas to change Lithe but he's also an idiot, Mamimi is tackling the problem much better then he, by trying to befriend some Roses. Egan desperately needs friends to anchor him to sanity, hopefully if he survives this he might get the chance to see the human side of the roses at some point, but it won't happen in the heat of battle lol.

Yes please do write coherently the last thing this RP needs is another sloppy grammar butcher like yours truly. :P

Well Egan has broke into the largest public libary ( public to upper classmen, doubt they let anyone lower then middle class practice it legally) he's trying to get a hold of a few magic books, to further his and start others' magical education. He kept Will hostage for a while, but he let him go as soon as Miriel got there Will didn't waste anytime and jumped out of a window...to get away from Miriel lmao. Now Egan and Miriel are in the middle of a brawl Kenneth and Kurone are on their way to check it out, with Mamimi tagging along but staying out of it...My character is going to get gang banged in other words lol! D: Oh yeah and Iris is chilling in the forest. :D

Kim~

Re: [OOC] The Roses

Krazy- Someone's all ready playing a princess character... maybe you could work something out with Ashbug

Phat- I was just wondering... why haven't you posted yet?

Re: [OOC] The Roses

Hey, I've just posted my character and I hope she's alright. She will have a charge, eventually. And if no-one wants to play a prince/princess for her to be a guard for then I'll just have to create another character. :) Hope that's all ok.
Kim~

Re: [OOC] The Roses

I have posted my character just now. I hope it's alright, because I took some time over her =D I apoligize for the picture but I really wanted some sort of image and it was the only one that I could find that was remotely suitable =)
