Description
Morsus Desmodus “Moor“ From Latin roughly means ‘Vampiric Bite‘ (Morsus literally translated is bite, and Desmodus is the genus of Vampire Bats) The Bat
Age: 19
Appearance: Morsus lives up to the expectations of what people believe a Nightmare would dress like. Dark and irregular clothing that is always accented on blacks and irregularity. Though his favorite outfit is bound in several belts of unusual lengths and sizes, none of them necessarily cohesive or capable of connection, representing chaos and the inner turmoil that he views in humanity. Also it should be noted that Morsus doesn’t meander around with wings just hanging out his back. Often they are blended directly into his outfit or withdrawn entirely into the flesh of his backside. Drawing them out only when necessary as his want is to appear as human as possible.
Likes: Playing mind games, the full moon on a cold night, quiet and privacy, the longing in human hearts, and enjoys ghost stores.
Dislikes: Spiders, Heat and being hot, ignorant people with big mouths, impatient and impractical people. Most Dreams don’t strike his fancy either.
Personality: The Bat seems like he would be a mysterious and exciting type of person to get close with. Truth is, he likes being alone and enjoys solitude and peace of mind. What some view as his masquerade is simply nothing more then his distaste to socialize. He cares little for the affairs of humanity and even less for the Council of Dreams and their people.
Morsus sees the world of man as a sinister and hypocritical state. Man who holds such high standards on what is just and good, but all harboring secrets and darker natures. That esteemed princess or the saintly leader, both are just clever at hiding their sin in his eyes. A balance of black and white more twisted then his own inner horrors. Often this drives him to speak outwardly, and express his opinions without fear. Many do not care for the gazing eye of Morus, because many don’t want him to see what truths are hidden.
Skill: Morsus isn‘t much for battling with a sword, he can defend himself against most, but ultimately he isn‘t much use with practical tools of war. Ironically The Bat is at his most fierce when he gets his hands in the mix, feeling far more comfortable with the fluidity of his fists then slabs of metal. However, such bare-fisted brawling is not always accomplished.
Of course the Nightmare prefers manipulation over actual physical combat, cleverness and cunning are finer blades to him then anything forged between the worlds. Between his sharp perception and keen ability to read people, few could deny the whisperings of suggestions one might hear from him.
Their Goals: The Dreamscape as a whole is threatened. Morsus doesn‘t wish to die knowing his kind is doomed. Though he jades Humans and his cousins Dreams, he does care about the people he represents, and wishes to see them survive. His intention is to see to the preservation of his kind, how hardly matters. Luckily humans are so predictable…
