Introduction

(My first roleplay in a while. I will try my best here. Let me know if anything is confusing in the OCC. Thanks.

Year 2012 CE: A mad man's dream became reality. For decades, an elaborate and dangerous project has been ongoing since the last lunar landing. Hundreds of thousands of individual machines, workers, and architects began work on a private endeavor that would only bee seen in science fiction novels. The construction project was a massive star ship, built completely from the little iron and other elements mined from the lunar interior, it easily dwarfed the world's largest cargo ships what are limited to Earth's oceans. On the starship's christening day, she got her name. Eden. The work of one eccentric and rich man's dream, now reality. To no one's surprise, however, when it left the side of the moon opposite the Earth, it was mistaken for an alien craft. Russia acted too carelessly and fired all of its land to space based nuclear warheads to the ship. The Eden, did not stand a chance.

Year 2029 CE: Asteroid Apophis makes a fast past over Earth, taking out about twenty dead satellites with it as it hit the "key hole". Apophis is doomed to hit Earth next orbit.

Year February 2036 CE: A new construction project of eccentric proportions was completed on the opposite side of the moon again. Dubbed, Cherubim, the biblical angel that guards the entrance of Eden with a sword of flames, the new ship carefully left the Moon and began a descend to Earth. It was roughly three times the size the Eden was, so it is thirty miles long, two miles wide, and two miles high. It is comprised of the remains of Eden and what was left of the iron that could be mined from the Moon. At roughly three o'clock in the afternoon, Pacific Standard time, the Cherubim landed over the west coast near San Fransisco.

Witnesses claimed the monolithic marvel was sucking the water from the coast through hundreds of hoses. A communication attempt was made by the United States government, but the Cherubim held its position and continued to pull up the salt water, occasionally ejecting raw sea salt back into the water.

Year April 2036 CE: Communication was made two months after the ship finished collecting water and reentered orbit. There was a single word in the message received by all communication systems all over the world. It read, "solve," followed by a system of thousands and thousands of letters and numbers. This was the only contact ever made by the ship to the ground. No name was given, the humans on Earth have no idea what exactly the ship is, besides knowing that it just IS.

Characters start where ever you want them. If you want to be a regular person on Earth, then you can. If you want to be on the Cherubium, let me know and I will add more descriptions on the ship specifications.

Beau paced around outside of the building his class for today was supposed to be held in. It had been canceled due to a water leak in the pipes below the floors. This was his only class today and was supposed to take up most of his day. Now he did not know what do to with himself. He pulled out a large water bottle and took a large gulp before recapping it and putting it back in his pack. He started to run through what was in his mind to do for today. All homework had been done, the gyms were closed on Sundays, and everyone else is busy. He could go see a movie, but he doesn't have enough money.

He sat on one of the concrete seats along the campus path and pulled out a small device that fit over his index finger and thumb like two rings connected to a small wire. He held his right hand in a backward L with his thumb and index finger, then a decent sized holographic screen emanated from his hand. He used his left hand to flip through his device's applications, calender, web sites, and the like. When he opened up the internet browser, a message showed up that flashed, "Solve," Followed by numerous numbers, symbols, and letter. At first, it looked like the work of a hacker, then a news program came on and spoke of this happening all over the world. Beau saved the message and continued what he was doing.

Alison pushed the door of the gas station building up as she passed through it. She was on her way out after having payed for gas and a can of some sort of supposedly energizing drink, that tasted horrible, yet it was still strangely addicting. She looked around in the relatively lifeless area, where the only sign of human life was the old man inside the building she'd just left, and a trucker taking a nap in the front seat of his truck. She sighed, and quickly looked at her watch to find out what time it was.

"Oh wauw. Only two hours late..." She mumbled to herself as she finally began moving. She walked over to her Triumph, which to her joy was standing right where she'd left it. She was very paranoid when it came to this particular machine, especially because it was pretty goddamn hard to get spare parts since the bike itself couldn't be bought any more. But none the less, it was right there sparkling in the sunlight. She decided that she wasn't going to go anywhere right away, and with that in mind she sat down on the ground and took a sip of her drink.

It didn't take her long to decide that she weren't going to finish it, so she put it down next to her, and then got up. She took a short moment to check that she had everything, and then as the last thing she flipped her braided hair back over her shoulder so it was now hanging down her back. She put on her helmet, and then got up on the bike. She fired it up, and soon she was on her way again. Heading into San Francisco to meet that old friend of hers that had suddenly invited her to come and visit. She drove around in the streets for a while, and then after having been a little lost she finally found the place, a tiny house, that was adorable in it's own right. White with a blue door, three windows out to the street, a well kept deep green lawn and an old wreck of a car in the driveway. Yes, it was cute.

She parked right behind the car, removed her helmet again, and then as she unstrapped her backpack to put it on, the door of the house slammed open. "Alison? Get in here, there's the most weird thing on the news!"

Alison stared at her friend, and then done as she was told. Within a few moments she was inside the house, and was being led to the kitchen where a tv had been placed. Alison followed her friends lead and looked at the screen, wondering what the hell it meant. The reporter was saying something about messages containing numbers and such, and Alisons attention quickly moved to other things, such as the cup of coffee that had just been placed in front of her.

"Thanks Jules." She mumbled at her friend as she sat down by the kitchen table.

Re: [OOC] The Search for a New Eden

I tried to submit a post, but all I'm getting is the Character App. screen. I took a look at the Characters tab for this thread, and thought I saw mine on the list. Am I missing something? (I'm new to roleplaygateway...)

Re: [OOC] The Search for a New Eden

Lol, the more I think about the setting of the story, the more I realize how rough of a time it's gotta be.
I've been trying to imagine myself in a situation like this one, trying to come up with an intro for my character - and holy cow, it's tough.
