Alexandra Sharasi

Do not disturb me from my studies. There is much I have yet to learn.

a character in “The Seven Day War”, as played by Mavz

Description

Name: Alexandra Sharasi (She responds to 'Alex' as well.)

Age: 93

Race: Elf

Faction: Circle of Magi: Lead Sorcerer

Weapons: If Alexandra is ever to leave her studies, she takes with her a long metal staff that she keeps strapped to her back. The staff is used for defensive purposes only and has no magical nor mechanical enhancements. The metal, if one must know, is made of polished steel and has been hollowed out as to not wear out the user with unnecessary weight.

Magic: As a lead sorcerer Alexandra has mastered some areas lower levels of magic and is in the process of learning some of higher level. She is skilled at conjuring and manipulating fire and it is fire that is her preferred. She can manipulate and freeze liquids, though she cannot conjure any. She can manipulate objects up to thirty yards away from her, but cannot move anything out of a thirty yard radius of her location. As for healing she has only started to learn this area and can barely heal a paper cut. Destruction is her strong suit, Conjuration is her lesser and Restoration is her weakest.

Appearance: Image

Alexandra stands at a height of 5'7" and weighs a light 130 pounds. The only muscle tone she seems to have is in her arms from practicing combat with her staff. She could not run a mile in decent time if you asked her but could easily give a blow hard enough to cave in a man's skull with her staff. She decided to cut her once long brown hair incredibly short after managing to light it on fire a total of sixteen times and has yet to catch it on fire since the length change. Her eyes are a simple brown and she keeps them outlined with thin black ink to make them appear a bit more attractive. Her face itself is nearly free of any scars with only one small scar above her left eyebrow where a boy had hit her with a rock when she was a child. Despite her age, her elven qualities have slowed her aging down and have made her appear not a day older than twenty-nine. Her choice of clothing is usually kept to loose white robes, preferably with some sort of simple embroidery. If she is ever to travel outside the city she wears dark suede trousers, knee high leather boots and a tight leather vest over a loose green blouse. This outfit, however, has gathered dust as she hasn't left the city in nearly a decade.

Personality: Alexandra spends most of her time in between piles of books studying her heart out and rarely has time to pay attention to the world around her. Needless to say she's an introvert who has a thirst for knowledge. She generally won't talk to someone unless they have knowledge that she seeks. That's not to say that she thinks she's better than those around her, or really anyone for that matter. In fact, it's nearly the complete opposite. Having grown up without knowing who her father was, and being mercilessly picked on for it, Alex has secretly viewed herself lesser than those around her. She has self-confidence issues, though she won't readily admit it. She pours herself into her studies in the hopes of becoming one of the best mages to ever walk the streets of Fasdal. She mainly does this to prove to herself that she's worth something, but part of her wonders if her father would show himself if she were to ever gain success.

Although she's generally a recluse, Alex is considered one of the more polite mages in the Circle of Magi and remembers nearly everyone she meets. She's personable and easy to like once you ensnare her into a conversation, as she does her best to be kind and courteous. She generally doesn't go out of her way to introduce herself to strangers and will oftentimes stick to a corner and stay quiet in crowded areas. When introducing herself she does her best to avoid speaking her last name. Sharasi is too female to be a name inherited by a male figure and it is the one thing that notifies many that she is a bastard child. Some of the nobility in the Circle of Magi tend to snicker and say rude things behind her back, but she does her best to ignore them. She's not one to lose her temper easily and can brush nearly any comment off. After forty-nine years of being picked on for it, there were few comments she hadn't heard before. Although she does her best to not let these comments affect her emotions, it does little to boost her self-confidence. Although many may view her attractive, she views herself as less than average and views any compliment that one may give her as an attempt of politeness.

Opinion on War: As she rarely spends much time outside of her books, Alex knows little about the war. She views it as too far away to even be worth a thought even with the increasing number of refugees. If the battle were to come to Fasdal, she knew that she would protect the city at all costs.

History: Alexandra's birth was a surprise to those in the noble community. They all knew that Shara, her mother, had not married and was not publicly courting anyone at that time. They were even more surprised that she would give up her renown powers of healing to simply have an affair. Shara revealed nothing about the Father and gave no reason as to why she gave up her powers. Talk of the baby girl's arrival became nothing more than gossip and soon the two were shunned. Alex remembered very little of her childhood with her mother and what she did remember was none too pleasant. She was mainly raised by her nanny who taught her how to read, write and proper etiquette. Her mother rarely spoke to her and seemed to constantly be in another world. Occasionally her mother would break into fits of rage if Alex would do anything wrong and scream at her and lock her in her room. It was for this reason that Alex spent most of her time outside in the garden until a group of children came by for a "visit." She greeted them pleasantly and even asked if they wanted to play with her, only to catch a rock to her forehead. As the blood streamed down into her left eye to mix with her tears, the boy who had thrown the rock began to call her a bastard among other hurtful names. The other children laughed, which only made Alex more upset. Before she knew what was happening, the boy's clothes caught flame. Her nanny had come out at this point and quickly patted down the boy's clothes until the fire was out. He ran away without a word of thanks and tried to catch up with the children who had already left. When her mother had been notified, Shara said nothing and disappeared into the other room while the nanny cleaned up Alex's wounds. Shara returned moments later carrying a suitcase and wordlessly took Alex's hand.

Alex was dropped off at the Circle of Magi without an explanation or her mother's good bye. The Circle of Magi took her in and taught her how to control her magic and after many years she mastered her fire magic. She was congratulated by her superiors and after realizing that she was actually good at something she began to thirst for more. She devoted everything to magic because it was the one thing that made her feel like she was worth something. She could control it, she could tame it and she could beckon it and it would come. She excelled in magic and wanted to master everything, though she knew it was an unlikely feat. She was thirty-eight when she became a lead sorcerer and assistant to one of the Archmages. Despite some of the cruel things that were muttered her way by her colleagues, the Archmage respected her and encouraged her with her studies. With his encouragement she learned even more and was in line for a promotion should any of the Archmages step down. Still, authority wasn't what she sought after. Knowledge was what she yearned for.

When she turned forty-two she received a strange letter hand delivered to her by a courier. She was told that it was urgent and that it needed to be read that instant. The letter was from her mother requesting her daughter's presence at once. Upon arrival at the house, Alex was greeted by one of the healing mages and notified her that her mother was dying. She approached her mother's death bed to sit down beside her. Shara apologized for not being there for her when she was most needed and told her that she had been too upset at her father's disappearance. She knew that it had not been Alex's fault but because she looked so much like him she couldn't bear to look at her and knew that she wouldn't be able to give Alex the proper training she needed to control her magic. She apologized for everything and left Alex all of her wealth, the house and all of her possessions. She did not, however, tell Alex who her father was. She passed away before she could tell her, but even if she had stayed alive Alex had a feeling she still wouldn't have told her. Having not known her mother very well, her grief was short lived and not soon after she was found amongst her books once more. Her mother's words held little effect on her. She had spent decades without her mother and a five minute conversation wouldn't fill the time where she hadn't been there. She found it best to simply move on with her studies. There was still a great amount of knowledge that she had left to obtain.
