That defined me:
Kitsune have been perceived as tricksters, thieves, and con-artists and Claude does nothing to disprove this stereotype! He is mischievous and never takes anything seriously. To him, life is one big game with no rules. This, of course, often gets him in trouble and Claude has vowed to change himself for the better... Only to do the same thing the next day! He can, however, be serious, such as when people he cares about is in danger. When that happens, he'd do anything to save them and if someone should make him lose his temper, the results aren't pretty.
My pain... :
Claude never knew his parents. At a young age, he was left at an orphanage in Paralei. The orphanage was a small building and was always picked with kids of all ages and races. When he was younger, he always dreamed about his parents coming to get him one day and leaving the orphanage behind. Eventually, he stopped hoping as he grew older and one day, simply left the orphanage and never came back. A few days later, he fell in with a group of pickpockets who were young orphans like himself and, thus, Claude's love for stealing was born to supplement his already mischievous nature. Thus, Claude's years as an adolescent and, later, a teenager, was embellished with mischief and stealing from those who, in his view, could afford to loose a few coins and possessions.
Claude didn't know any other kitsune to teach him, so his abilities are mostly self-taught supplemented with a few books he managed to steal. Still, Claude believes he's gone far and loves being a kitsune, even if people are afraid he'd try to steal from them or trick them. One day, when the strange messengers came to Paralei, Claude heard one of them firsthand. After it left, the city erupted with rumors about what were at the ruins and, soon enough, many were traveling for the ruins. Claude, for his part, decided to make the journey himself. After all, there were many people on the road to trick and steal from and he was rather curious about the ruins himself. His friends told him he was crazy. Claude told them they were boring.
