Introduction
First off: This roleplay has nothing to do with the movie out in theatres starring Ben Affleck ;)
June 2006
5 college students from California set off on a road trip, during the summer after their junior year. Their destination, according to friends and family was Las Vegas, Nevada. The trip was supposed to last only a week, and two days after their supposed return time, with several unanswered phone calls, a report was filed for the five students missing.
November 2010
A series of 20 tapes are sent to the Los Angelas Police Department showing the events leading up to the murder of the five students, over four years ago, who have still been missing after the many years. They put in the tapes, each with footage of various angles of what looks similar to a small town in the middle of nowhere, showing the two days leading up to the death of the students.
:::::::::::
We are these students if you haven't guessed by now. We are on a road trip to Las Vegas, and have to stop for gas at the first town for miles of barren land. We stop at a quiet little town in the middle of nowhere, that the people call Happytown with a population of a little over fifty. What is supposed to be a quick stop for gas late at night, soon becomes a stay over night when they discover the tires of the car slashed. The night soon becomes a fight for survival against a town of crazy cannibal phsycopaths.
We need five students: 3 girls, 2 guys or the other way round. Either way I don't want 4 and 1. We can add one more person, maybe two but no more. I want long posts, not real long, but no 2 line posts. I want at least a seven sentence paragraph.
Character Sheets:

Jacob slammed his hand on the horn of the old, puke yellow bus that was parked outside the campus of the school. The five jumped, startled by the sound of the loud, and obnoxious horn of the bus. They had been waiting for about thirty minutes after school was over for the last day of the year. He told them that he had a suprise to show them, but he knew they probably wouldn't like the suprise very well. The bus was a sixteen-seater yellow school bus, that looked like it was from the seventees, and also had never been driven for twenty years. It was probably true. The outside was rusted in the corners, some of the windows wouldn't open, and some wouldn't shut. The seats had duct tape, and swear words written all over them, and it wreaked of little children and whatever they did in it. But besides that it was...livable for two days of driving.
He pushed the door opener as hard as he could, but it wouldn't open. The man renting it to him, had to use a crowbar to open it the first time because it was rusted shut. He finally kicked it four times and it finally opened. "NEXT STOP....VEGAS!" he yelled to his friends sitting on the bench in front of the campus. "Please put all bags in throught the back of the bus where we hold the cargo." Then he remembered, "Oh, and, could you not cover the fire exit door, uh cuz I'm not so sure this bus won't catch on fire possibly," he said smiling unsurely. It was meant as a joke, but once again this bus was pretty much a peice of shit.

"Gasp! Jacob, man, I didn't know you were capable of murder!" Carlos said the minuet he saw that rusty old hunk of ugly yellow metal. As usual he had something sarcastic to say, implying that Jacob had rented that old bus on purpose just to do away with them. Although he was sarcastic and made lots of jokes, he never meant it in a mean way. At least not usually. He just wanted to be the funny guy, thinking it would get him girls and make people like him. He was pretty much the class clown around school.
When Jacob honked Carlos not only jumped but actually shouted "AAAAGGGGHHHH!!" He grabbed one of the other kids arms and pulled. "RUN AWAY!!!!" He shouted again "He's already put his psychopathic homicide plan into action!!!!! AAAAGGGGHHHH!!!! We're all gonna die!!!" In a fake panic, he put his hands on his head and started running in circles. His shenanigans always made a bunch of kids at school laugh, and his many younger siblings. So he did stuff like this all the time.

Dax was awakened by a loud horn. " What the hell?" He whispered as he rubbed his eyes. When he opened them he found hiself starring at an old, peutred yellow, school bus. Before he could see who was driving it, He was disrupted by a sligh girlish shrill. Dax didnt have to look at who it was, He knew it could only be Carlos. When he looked back at the school bus he saw Jacob standing in front of it talking, Dax didnt exactly here him because he was still half sleep." This is the suprise, a piece of crap, well he didnt say it was gonna be a good surprise." He thought. He stood up, strecthed and yawned.
" Well, nice surprise." He said giving a faint smile. Dax wasnt really the one to smile. When he got on the bus, He through his luggage to the back of the bus." I need to catch some Z's so i'll be well rested for Vegas." Dax said to Jacob as he walked all the way to the back of the bus. He sar down trying to find a comfortable positon to fall asleep in. To bad he couldnt, the seats were as hard as cement. " Well i guess il rest when we get there." He whispered. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out his psp.

Samantha Lachforst was standing there with her arms crossed, wishing she were anywhere but here. The wishing only increased in magnitude and urgency as soon as she saw the bus. I knew that this trip would be a waste of time I knew it! I hate it already and we haven't even started.
If nothing else, but to make her life more miserable, the class clown, Carlos Something-or-other, grabbed her arm and dragged her after him as he ran in circles pretending to panic. This is idiotic...
Samantha stopped Carlos abruptly and smacked him, mumbling lowly under her breath, "Baka-senpai! Shinde kudasai..."
She dragged her luggage to the back and threw it in without thought or care it was a hard-case luggage bag so she was fine. She walked calmly back to the sidewalk, grabbing her black messenger bag without pausing, and making her way onto the bus.
"Hurry up, kudasai. I would like to leave for Vegas before I die please." Her tone was overly polite and mocking.

Jack was waiting with his luggage when he saw the bus appear. It was quite the surprise, I guess that's what he meant by surprise then. He didn't even know what to say. That's when he noticed Carlos shrieking and then being smacked by Samantha. He let out the loudest laugh and started walking towards the bus. Hopping onto the bus was like entering a different planet. There was a funny stench and the seats were covered in dust and duct tape.
"I thought when you said surprise that you were going to take us into some back ally and kill us," He said to Jacob, "this... well this might be worse!"
Jack chuckled to himself as he threw his luggage in the back seat. He then jumped into one of the seats around the front of the bus.
Jack knew that it was going to be a good trip. Vegas was one of the places where he always wanted to travel to. It was just one of those places where everyone needed to go once in their lifetime. The only thing he hopped was that he was going to make it in one piece. In the bus they were riding in, they would be lucky to make it there alive. He decided that he would let his thoughts out, "You know this bus is a real piece of shit!"

Carlos was quite enjoying himself until he got smacked. "Owch!" He said, as he stopped running and touched his cheek. "Hey baby what was that for?" Not sounding a bit sad, he turned to face her. "You know you can't get enough of meh!" He had specifically chosen to grab her because well, he thought she was cute! And there's nothing he likes more than cute girls. He could never maintain friendship with a girl because well, he wouldn't stop hitting on them!
Carlos went and got his suitcases. A good sized roller and an old back pack. He set them in and rearranged some of the other bags in there, making more room. In his house, you had to use every ounce of space you had. So he was good at organizing. After he was done, he stood up and went to the door of the bus. "I am so stoked! Vegas baby! Yeah!" He raised his arm slightly and made a fist as he quickly brought it back down when he said that. It was his dream to go to Vegas, and even though it was a crappy old bus, he could finally do it! He got in and found a seat in the very back, sat in the middle and stretched out his arms on the tops of the seats. "I am the king of the back of the bus!" He declared. "No one may trespass! Except maybe the girls ;)"

"Kudasai?" asked Jacob. "There it is again. You know Sam, I hear that word come from your mouth all of the time to me, but what does it mean?" He knew it meant something mean probably though, so he turned around to face her in the seat behind him a few rows. "And guess what ma'am?" he asked sarcastically. "There shall be no sourpusses or downers on this bus I have rented at an unusually small price!" He ran back to her seat. He knew what he was about to do, would make her mad, but he liked to push her buttons.
"I know how to make a sourpuss happy though!" He sat next to her and looked at her seriously. "I know deep down, you just long to be hugged tight." He reached his arms out a held her tight. He put his hand on the back of her head and held it to his shoulder. "It's ok! I will always be here!" He knew she was resisting, but he kept hugging her for about twenty seconds, and then ran back up to the drivers seat. "And if I see that sad face again, you're off the bus!" he yelled with a smile.
"Jack. This is a school bus, and rule number one is no bad language," he said pointing up to a sign above the drivers seat. It was an old yellowed peice of paper with five rules scribbled on them from long before. "I would like you to respect those rules, thank you." He didn't know why, but he seemed very hyper today. It was probably just because school was over for a few months now, and he was happy to start it off good, by taking a road trip with friends.

Dax put his game on pause and then looked o his side. He saw Jacob forcefully hugging Sam. " This is gonna be a long trip, with screaming, and.... well yea just screaming." He said to no one in perticular. He got up and walked to the back of the bus to grab one of his backpacks and took it back to his seat. He reaced into and pulled out random things, like a videogame case, a bag of Dorritos, even a pair of Boxers. When he finnaly got what he wanted he stuffed everything back into his bag.
It was a box full of assorted candy. Not just any candy, Sour candy, It was his favorite. He threw a few sour gummy nears in his mouth as he began to relax." Anyone want some candy?" He said as he held the box of candy up high." My arm is gonna get tired so hurry." He said as he began to shake the box in the air. When the sour from the gummy bears kicked in, His face became twisted in a sence. He let out a sigh of relief when he swallowed them."There really good." Dax said while grabbing a couple of gummybears.

Samantha sighed heavily, it was times like these when she rethought the offer of a roadtrip, "Kudasai means please. Believe me, you'll know when I'm cussing, you'll know..." She smirked to herself, laughing on the inside at her words. There is no such thing as being to overly polite in Japanese after all.
"And yeah, we can tell that this was rented for an unusually low price, aho-senpai." She smiled slightly, as there was a certain satisfation in insulting people so subtley that they didn't notice after all, until someone sat in the seat next to her. A little close for her liking actually. Sam is huge on personal space.
"I know how to make a sourpuss happy though!" Jacob said as he sat next to her. "I know deep down, you just long to be hugged tight." Please, she thought as she rolled her eyes. Well, that was 'till she was caught up in a hug so strong and intrusive it smothered her, her face smashed into Jacob's chest, effectively cutting off all her airways. Unless she learned how to breathe out of her ears, of course. And because of the lack of air she started squirming and struggling to the best of her abilities, it was quite ineffective as her arms were trapped firmly by her sides in said deathly hug. Finally though, he let go and Samantha gasped and wheezed for air.
"And I'll bloody well cuss if I bloody well feel like it! How dare you impugne on my own bloody right to bleeding free speech, you wanker..." All this was said in a British accent, it really couldn't be helped after all, truly.
She sat back, glad to have got that out of her system for the day, and stuffed her earbuds into their places and turned up her music, cracking open a large book of many to keep her occupied until more showed up and they could be on their way. Samantha didn't pay much attention to the other occupants after that, as her music was just high enough that she could tune them out- though low enough that she was aware of her surroundings, and so she heard, "Anyone want some candy?" What an inane question, of course she did!
She raised her hand and waved it about like a loon almost yelling, "Pick me! Pick me! I want some candy!" Candy, was one of her weaknesses, particularily sour candy. Ah well, it was just as well, she supposed, that she wasn't such a 'sourpuss' on the trip anyway. Lord knows thay'd be stuck together for way to long on this bloody metal death trap.

Carlos had abandoned his 'king of the back of the bus' thing a few minuets after it had started. He uncrossed his legs and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees and head on his hands. He was just waiting for the trip to get started, thinking about how he hoped the bus would bounce a lot while he was sitting back there. And also remembered hearing about kids who had gone through the roof of a bus... Oh well! What's life without a little risk after all! Carlos was capable of being quiet, but it didn't happen to often.
Then, as Jacob hugged Sam, Carlos sat up a little and watched them "Wooooooo!" He said with a big grin on his face. "Things are getten in here! Hey Sam, you don't have to take that baby." He sat up scooched over and patted the seat next to him "come sit by Carlos and it'll be all better!" Then she started her 'cuss if I want to' rant to which he responded "Ooo yeah, I like 'em feisty!" He was completely joking, but still. He soon forgot about what he was saying to Sam when Dax offered candy. He raised his hand "I want some candy! Can I have some candy, man?" He stood up and went to where Dax was sitting, eager to get his share.

Jack looked at the sign and laughed as he herd Samantha go off. Then he told her, "Don't worry, when this bus breaks down and we are in the middle of the desert, that sign will be the first thing we use for fire wood." He then directed his attention to the candy, although it was tempting, he didn't like sour candy. He just wanted the bus ride to start. He thought that the sooner the bus started, the sooner he could get the wind flowing through it and the unbearable smell would go away.
Jackson walked around the bus and opened each of the windows that could open. They were all covered in dirt and dust that looked almost like it would never come off. The instant the first window opened, the freshness of the air gave the bus a whole new light. Who would've thought that just opening a window could make a bus feel cleaner? He thought as he moved further down the rows opening more windows. Eventually he made it to Samantha. He didn't really want to disturb her, but she did seem a little distracted by the candy.
Maybe she wouldn't notice? he thought as he began to lean over Sam to open the window.

"Alright children, enough horseplay, let's get this show on the road!" yelled Jacob to everyone behind him. He turned the key in the ignition, and waited for a sound, and for everything to come to life. He pulled it back again, and them turned it back, and then it came to life slowly, but surely. "She's just a little rusty," he said, smiling back to everyone. "Tiger! Mary! Let's go!" he yelled over to the stairs, where she was still sitting.

((I added a new female character, because I want it to be a little more even.))
Mary jumped as another honk buzzed from the bus ahead of her. She had been sleeping with her iPod in at full blast. She saw the disgusting yellow bus and gave a horrifying look, like she was watching someone being killed in front of her. "What the hell is that?!" she asked as she ran up to the door. "Lovely ride you have gotten us, Jacob." She climbed up the stairs into the bus with her bags.
"Uhm, actually, could you put the bags in the back, for safety reasons," said Jacob. "And thank you, she's worth a lot of money, so don't scratch her."
"Scratch her? So the bus is a woman?" She laughed as she got off the bus and went to the back of the bus to put the bags in the back, where the other bags were. She heaved the bags into the compartment, and shut the doors. She ran back around and boarded the crappy bus. She looked at the disgusting seats lined down the bus, ripped and torn. "Gross." She saw Samantha in the fifteenth seat, and walked back, and sat in the seat across from her. "Hey Sam," she said, and put her bags down on the floor under her seat.

"Hello, Mary." Samantha said through her candy. She turned back to her kindle and the Dragonspell series. Good books, even for older people, not trash like the Twilight 'saga,' and because of those books she couldn't even tell people her favorite time of day without them thinking it was because she liked the books! Frustrating, simply frustrating...
Ah well, c'est la vie, I suppose. Live and let live. Who am I kidding, those books are crap on a stick. She sighed then promptly forgot as she returned to her book, listening to epic soundtracks on her iPod.

"Well helloooo Mary!" Carlos said, loving that there was another cute girl coming along. As she started down the aisle, he scooted over from the middle back seat and patted the chair next to him. "Don't worry baby," He called out to her in a flirtatious tone "you won't notice this horrible bus sitting next to me. And I don't think I will either* He winked. When she sat down next to Sam, he half debated on weather or not to sit behind them... but that would mean giving up his kingdom of the back seats... this was a real dilemma!

Tiger waited until everyone was aboard the bus, most people know her to go with the flow but seeing the bus looking like that made her inner diva want to escape. The rest of the gang showed their enthusiasm and shock by spilling jokes but Tiger was still staring at the big mess from the sidewalk pavement. "Jacob are we in Punk'd? Are you serious about this?" Tiger blurted as Mary climbed on.
She pulled herself up from the her seat and walked around the bus to inspect if it will let them reach Vegas. She knew this trip would be a whack, but Jacob's surprise- well it was excruciating to think they would travel miles with this... this... Thing!
She gave out a deep sigh and thought to just ride it and get it done and over with. The longer she delays it the longer her suffering would be.
"I told you Miami sounds better," She walked back to the entrance and pulled her luggage up. A big backpack and a large duffel bag.
Guys would often hit on her and thought she couldn't and wouldn't manage to carry both bags but she had carried more than those.
She found everyone else already situated on the duct taped seats while the luggage sat on top of one another. She grabbed the seat just behind Jacob's and tried to make herself comfortable. "Do the windows even open up?" She gave Jacob a raised eyebrow.

Jacob sat there for a while pretending he didn't hear her, becuase he knew she wouldn't like the answer. He finally gave up though because she kept looking at him with a raised eyebrow. He sighed. "About half of them do, maybe less." Jacob turned forward again and mumbled to himself. "They should be happy we even have a vehicle." He put the bus into drive, and took off. He picked up the microphone and said, "Please do not get out of seats while the bus is moving. No food or drink unless it is edible or drinkable, and...ah forget it, all these rules are lame. Do whatever the hell you guys want!" He put the microphone back and laughed. It was fun to use it.
The bus made it on to the highway, that they would be on for about five hours. He picked up the map that was in the glove compartment, and handed it to the back. "Tiger or Jack, one of you, could you look at the map and tell me what exit to get off on." He dropped it in the aisle, since nobody took it in time for him to want to hold it any longer.
"Where's some food?" asked Mary, up to Jacob. She was already hungry, and she felt bad about being needy when they had only been on the bus for about ten minutes.
"There's some food in the last seats, in a cooler there's drinks, and a bag full of chips and whatever," replied Jacob. Mary walked to the back of the bus and grabbed a mountain dew in a can, and a little bag of pretzels. She sat back down and put her earphones in to listen to her favorite band, Coldplay. "I could do this for a day and a half," she thought to herself, smiling.

Jack had finally managed to open the few windows that he could. It was better than nothing and even better, Sam didn't even notice when he leaned over her to at least attempt to open her window. It didn't open though. Sadly, most of the windows were like that with only about five more opened. He walked a bit further to the back of the bus closer to Carlos. He thought it would be nice to keep him company once the bus ride started. He was just turning around to say hello when Mary came in. He almost didn't even notice her enter. The only reason he did notice her was because of the face Carlos made when he saw Mary enter. Jack knew what was coming next...
"Well hello Mary!" Jack rolled his eyes as Carlos continued, "Don't worry baby you won't notice this horrible bus sitting next to me. And I don't think I will either."
Jack then just decided to get comfortable in his seat and wait for the bus to go. It was waiting for Tiger that was making Jack so anxious. He just wanted to get on the highway and start the journey.
Not to long after Mary, Tiger entered the bus. She situated herself and the bus took off.

"Hey Jack, how's it goen?" Carlos asked when he came back there. "Only 2 of the windows open back here." There wasn't much time for Jack to answer before he had noticed Mary. He then inevitably did the same thing to Tiger when she had entered. Claiming that sitting next to him would make this dirty old bus seem like a day in heaven. He stretched out his arms across the back seats sitting in the middle just after the announcements. "Hey girls, plenty of room back here if you bored!!" Of course he was joking -for the most part, he wasn't really after just any random girl he saw. But his way to get attention on this bus ride... didn't seem to be working like it did at home and in school. At least he knew these people.
OOC Notes
Dax was in his own little world, sucked into his videogames. He noticed a few people get on the bus, but didnt care to look and see who they were." What the H." Dax screamed out as the Handheld videogame made a sound he wasnt to fond of." YOU LOSE." The Handheld mocked. Dax turned off the game in frustration and grabbed a couple pieces of gum and began to chew, vigerously out of anger." Damn game, and its...... stupid ways." He whispered to himself. Dax looked out the window, suprised to see that they were Moving. " When did we began the trip." He thought as he stretched and yawned. " Some one wanna pass me a soda." He shouted as he looked to the back of the bus.
OOC Notes
Since Tiger situated herself just behind Jacob she took the liberty of picking the map he dropped on the aisle.
"Slow down, it's hard trying to read this map." She called on Jacob. "I guess we need to turn right to Exit 66" She tried to squint on the small letters that were hardly readable.
"Sam, can you help me with this. I'm not really sure how this map works. I've never seen anything like it." She passed it to Sam with a worried look on her face.
Years as a scout, she came across a lot of maps already. But this one in particular puzzled her.
"Hey guys, take a look at this. It's pretty weird for a map. Where did you get it Jacob?"

"What's wrong with it?" asked Jacob. "I got it from the glove compartment of the bus. It should be fine. All maps are the same anyways right?" Jacob was hoping the map was fine to use. They were already driving on a nearly barren highway in the middle of nowhere, and if he had to stop to get proper directions, it would be a while. There hadn't been a town for about twenty minutes.
OOC Notes
"Hey Sam, can you help me with this?" Samantha sighed, a bit peeved at being interrupted from her book. She got up anyway, to take a look at the supposedly odd map, her interest piqued just a bit. Especially because Tiger was pretty good at reading maps.
"Hn," Samantha's brown knit in confusion and concentration. The map really was odd. Or, rather, they weren't anywhere on the map in the first place. Sam took the map from Tiger's hands and turned the large paper over, searching for some kind of sign or writing that would tell her what they were looking at.
She turned it back over and held it up to the light so that she might see something that was missed in the dark of the bus floor. Nothing. Roads to nowhere. Signs with odd pictures that she'd never seen before and couldn't begin to guess the meaning of. They were most likely good and lost by now anyway, especially with the way that Jacob drove.

Re: [OOC] The Town
Do you need a person to play the outside force....like a gang?....if so heres a little taste....i will post a bio for AVON
Avon has control of the entire West Baltimore drug trade. His territory included the prized Franklin Terrace tower blocks and the nearby low-rise projects, referred to as "the pit". Avon ran the organization as a hierarchy with himself at the top and Stringer directly below him. They were both isolated from the drugs, handling only money. Avon himself kept an extremely low profile, eschewing overt displays of wealth so as not to attract attention, avoiding being photographed, not having a driver's license, and owning nothing in his own name. He retained attorney Maurice Levy, who advised him on how to counter police investigations and represented members of the Barksdale organization at hearings and trials.
Avon had a number of enforcers for protection, contract killings, and intimidation work, including his old friend Wee-Bey Brice. He had several lieutenants reporting to him, each responsible for trade in a different area, with some receiving a percentage of the profits ("points on the package") of the narcotics they sold. Beneath the lieutenants there was typically a second-in-command and below them several drug dealers. The dealers would each have a particular role: "touts" were responsible for attracting customers; "runners" would deliver drugs to the customer; "look-outs" were responsible for watching for police or stick-up gangs approaching; or handling the money and the level of supply. Each dealer would receive a weekly cash payment for their work from the lieutenant above them.
Every member of the organization was subject to strict rules designed to thwart police investigations. The dealers were not allowed to carry cell phones or take drugs. They were all aware of how to deal with police interrogation and knew that the organization would protect them up to a point, but if they turned on Avon they would be killed. Lieutenants and enforcers carried pagers so that they could be contacted. They were subject to the same rules as the dealers, but also knew not to talk business in cars, public places or with anyone outside of the organization. Such discussions were limited to property and territory owned by the Barksdale organization.
A strict telephone usage policy was applied rigidly throughout the organization. The pager messages were encoded to prevent easy tracing of the telephones used, all of which were public telephones. The code was based on simple use of the telephone keypad - numbers were swapped with their opposite across the number five, and five was exchanged with zero, making it accessible to poorly-educated drug dealers. Each pager-carrying member of the organization was identified by a number. When pages were returned with a phone call no names were supposed to be used, and if a name was used, the speaker was rebuked. A separate code was used for resupply signals, which involved turning the pager display upside down.
Avon received his narcotics supply through a connection to a Dominican organization in New York and had several other options for suppliers in surrounding cities. The main supply of narcotics was separated from the rest of the organization and held in a house in Pimlico where it could be cut and divided into smaller "stashes" for distribution among the Barksdale towers. Once inside the towers, these smaller packages were moved from room to room on a regular basis, to avoid the scrutiny of police and stick-up men such as Omar Little.
Avon's main office was one of his front organizations, a strip club named Orlando's. It was here, behind a locked and heavily guarded door, that the drug money was counted and secured before being sent on to its ultimate destination. Avon usually conducted his business in this office, rarely venturing onto the street. The club's legal owner, Orlando Blocker, was kept away from the drugs in order to maintain the front's appearance of legitimacy for the city.
The organization laundered its profits through various fronts, including a funeral parlor, Orlando's, and a property developing company named B&B. It also invested in property, never actually using either Barksdale or Bell's names on official papers. It also made campaign contributions—and later bribes—to Senator Clay Davis, ostensibly for assistance with development contracts.
