Introduction
London, England 3015. Most of the world’s resources are gone and less and less products are being manufactured for the general public. To get expertly made goods you must be very rich. Anything made for the general wealth is only necessities made from recycled materials. Clean air is a myth, medical problems attack most everyone, and people are lucky just to touch the ground.
Housing
Every family gets one flat. No matter how big your family is you get one flat. The flats all rotate like carts on a ferris wheel so that you can only get to the ground and outside during your assigned time. My family’s flat stops at the ground once every 168 hours. Once a week.
That’s how the housing works. The outside of the flat building looks completely normal but inside is a complex of rotating flats, though no one see outside of theirs. The richer you are the less time you have to wait for your flat to get to the ground level. The average family gets about two or three hours on the ground unless there is some special allowance. When not on the ground three meals are delivered to each family member every day (if they are middle class). Standard meals are soup and vegetables.
Included in standard middle-class flat:
Toilet
Sink
Shower
Two closets
Four small beds
Desk
(Other items can be purchased at ground level)
How do I get to school then? There’s no school unless you’re very rich. What you get at my economic level, though my family is not too poor, is packets delivered to your flat. You have to complete the packet before your family’s flat reaches the ground. If you don’t then you get marks on your personal record.
The wealthy upper-class are the only people to get to go to the school buildings. This is because they can afford to be at the ground level on a stable basis. The packets usually consist on a variety of problems depending on what subject you are one, like taking a test. The available subjects are math, science, reading, or an other one that you have permission to learn. Some people choose to pursue one subject while other rotate to learn all of them. For extra money you can order small creative problem packet if you have perfect marks as far as turning in packets goes.
Every family has a reasonable amount of clothes. They also own a few items of leisure such as books, games, and toys. Clothes are washed manually in the sink as well as anything else. Most families own a music player with a large selection of old and new songs. Each flat also comes with a telly. The telly has a few entertainment channels but most are news and informative channels. Some families own other items depending on what they bought on the ground level.
This is the outside. On the ground level there is zero vegetation. Every inch is taken up by a building or concrete. The sun never shines and the air is polluted with smog. The citizens don’t love the ground level for its nature though. It’s crammed with shops and services. You can buy items, new food (very expensive), or much more. There are rumours though that other things are located on ground level. What more could they be?
With how cramped and trapped everything is, how would everyone get out if something came in?
So the plot is probably going to be the zombie apocalypse meets Attack of Titan. Large monsters (though not as large as godzilla) are attacking the flat buildings, completely destroying them. People try to escape but can’t. Even people on the ground level have trouble surviving. No where is safe. The monsters are everywhere.
There are rumours, there have been for a while, of a green city where citizens live in comfort and safety. The sky is blue, the clouds are white, and the grass is green. Many people begin to struggle to the city but fail in even knowing its location. A few kids have found maps scribbled in the edges of books, at the bottom of walls, and in mysterious places. They thought that the markings were nothing at the time, but now they understand. Separated from most of their family, they try to make it to the green city.
The Turunen Tunnel is yet another legend of escape, but not as common. It is said to lead straight to the green city. Being underground, it is completely safe because the monsters are too large to get in. Also unlike the green city legend, this one is completely true. A couple kids, about a year before the monster outbreak, discovered the tunnel and moved into it. They have been expanding it in anticipation of the monsters to try and reach the green city. (They expand it by cracking the locks on old doors and breaking down walls to find passageways.) This is where most of the map kids end up because the Turunen Tunnel is on the map. If you don’t find the tunnel by yourself then the kids there find you.
Standard human abilities and needs apply. Getting water isn’t a problem as long as you find water because it doesn’t have to be clean, especially if you originated from the flats. The water in the flats was never clean because there was never enough energy to. Your body is used to low hygiene. Your meat still needs to be cooked and all that stuff.

For the kids that find the map, I think that five is good. Because of that everyone can make only one of the map kids. That’s not the limit of characters or kids that you make. (Note the five kids are not the only kids to see the map.) You can make as many as you want as long as you write them well and they are all detailed.
I feel like I haven’t explained these guys too well so here is some clearer information. Seeing the pieces of the the map isn’t a supernatural talent. Every person can see the map clues but they dismiss them as silly markings. Young, creative, and un-impressioned kids are the ones who draw the connections and figure out what the markings mean. They aren't rare. Pretty much every kid can see how they go together if they aren't closed-minded.
Other character such as random city survivors, expert zombie killers, skilled survivors, or what ever else brings you joy are allowed. Do you want a serial killer who uses the apocalypse as an excuse to kill and can you write them well? If yes, then great! The laws of physics are the limit! Maybe not exactly. Physics doesn’t matter. Your characters need to be human, though stray pet dogs are allowed etc. If you make a character like that then just create your own profile document with this filled out: (If you’re someone strange and awesome then your history should be more detailed.)
Full Name:
Age: (12 or above)
Appearance: (Try to be detailed. No “bob has black hair and is tall’)
Personality: (Can be short if you want but please provide a general overview)
Supplies: (Maybe they carry a knife as their main weapon. Stuff like that. What did they take with them? Why is it significant?)
Family: (Maybe they had two sisters and a brother. This doesn’t need to be detailed.)
History: (Most of the history will be fairly simple since they all originated from the flats, unless you’re a zombie killer or something, but maybe something interesting happened to them. What makes them the way they are? Did they read a lot of books or paint on the walls?)

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 1 authors
"I've drawn out the map as best as I can. Is it adequate, Gemini?" Though Alaya had a common tendency to ask rhetorical questions as an insult, she really wanted Gemini's opinion. The map through the Turunen Tunnel to the Green city was complex. Alaya considered herself brilliant, but she knew that she often made mistakes when it came to printing her thoughts. Alaya ran a hand through her hair and looked to Laufey, who seemed completely uninterested. Alaya sighed. She wished her friend would try and join these discussions. The warrior would never admit it, but she was insecure about not being able to see the maps.
