Jelani Odon Willard
Image

Role: The King

Gender: Male
Title(s)/Alias(es): your highness, Jelani (for his wives and friends)
Age: 38
Race: Human
Love Interest: His wives
Password: Puppies

Image
Appearance:

Jelani is a healthy man as he stands tall and proud. His build is slightly muscular and he focuses on using his strength and tactics in battle more than speed. His skin is rough and tan but very smooth and strangely enough, it seems to glow slightly under the moonlight. He has purple - black hair and he let it reach down his middle back. His hair is soft, very cool and is often seen tied into a loose pony tail by a white cloth. His eyes are also purple - violet to be exact and they seem very deep, calm like the ocean on its peaceful days. However, they will turn very cold and sharp once they look at the enemies. He has very soft lips as they more often than not, curl into a very gentle smile. His voice is low and slightly rough as well due to the lack of use as he rarely talks. He has the habit of rubbing his right hand behind his neck whenever he's nervous.

Preferred Clothing:

Jelani often wears clothes in Japanese style with dark blue, violet, and white as the main colors. His clothes consist of a 'yukata-like-shirt' and a white scarf - one of his lovers' gifts. In combats, Jelani wears another extra long, silk coat outside. He also has a belt made out of silk on his waist and on his right side is the 'Luna' - his beloved sword. On formal occasions, Jelani wears a white button up shirt with blue pants. He doesn't really like jewelries but he always wears a necklace. It is one of his 'lucky charms' as he often calls it.

Height: 1m79
Weight: 65kg
Hair Color: Purple
Eye Color: Violet

Image
Personality:
Jelani is a very quiet but understanding man. As a child, he didn't talk more than necessary and his words, more often than not, came out as a single sentence that left people speechless with either guilt, shame or surprise. It was one of his most distinctive characteristics when he was young and even though he has changed when he grew up, that trait is still somewhat strong inside of him. He has talked more than 2 sentences now but generally, he's still very quiet. It's hard to coax out a full conversation out of him and maybe the only ones that can make him talk that much are his wives, children and sometimes friends and the guardians. He is a very good listener and can pretty much sit through hours doing nothing but listening to people's rants. He's famous for his patience and his listening skill. Plus, he can give good advices if he wants to...though most of the time, he prefers letting that person solves their problems by themselves. He is not by any means cold or heartless, he just strongly believes in the fact that people will solve the problems better by themselves and they will become more independent that way. That's being said, he still sometimes gives people advices or steps in if the problems become serious enough.

He doesn't see the world as black and white but rather a gray color. He sees people by this color, the ones with lighter gray or darker gray and not the ones with black or white. He believes in second chances and will open his heart to anyone who wants redemption or tries to pay for their bad deeds. He's the type 'forgive but not forget' man and he's also very unwavering. He sticks true to his rules and promises, never breaks anything he has said except in some very special situations. He has a very strict code of mortality and fails in completing one of them will result in Jelani wallowing himself in guilt. He's very...distanced and is not, by any means of the world, a 'sociable individual' but he will quickly open himself to anyone who has opened themselves to him first. He's very fair but strict and does not tolerate 'rule-breakers' even if said rule-breakers are his own family. To anyone who doesn't personally know him, he appears to be rather cold but deep inside, he has his own soft spots as well. He loves his own family and his kingdom very much, and can do anything to keep them safe and sound. To his enemies, he is forgiving and will let them live if they promise to change their ways of life. Of course, he's not trusting...he simply observes them from a far distance and sees if it's true. If it's true that they have changed, then he will not be hesitant to welcome them with open arms...but if not, well...the price they have to pay is...their deaths.

Jelani has to carry a very heavy responsibility on his shoulder, being a king and leading a country are no easy task no matter how talented you're or how fair you're. The weight of his family, the constant pressure from his own people often make Jelani have a mental breakdown though he hides it very well. He creates a mask of a strong leader so everyone can rely on him but he's just as much as a human as everyone else. And he has his flaws just like everyone else. For once, Jelani doesn't actually believe himself to be the right person to lead the kingdom. He never admits it out loud but he's scared that he will mess things up. He's scared that he will fail his people. He's scared that he will cause the kingdom to 'be destroyed' and on top of that, he's scared that his family will be disappointed in him. He doesn't really have the strongest confidence in the world but he always hides it behind a cold, uncaring and somewhat distanced mask. Another 'flaw' some of his enemies think he has is that he's too soft. That doesn't mean he won't hesitant in killing the enemies. The 'soft side' of him is that he's willing to give anyone a second chance. Some may call it's a good trait but what if that enemy uses that 'second chance' against him? The result would be more than disastrous...One of his 'glaring' weaknesses is that he loves his family a lot...only second after his kingdom. It's not a choice whether he loves his family or his kingdom more. As a king, he has to place his people first and push everything else into the second place. But if he can, he will gladly die to his family safe and sound. It is one of the reasons he calls the guardians. They will help him protect himself and his family...His life and soul.

Oddities:
► Enjoys being whipped by his wives: While most men would hate it if they're whipped by their wives, Jelani enjoys it...well, he doesn't enjoy being whipped to be exact. BUT he enjoys the feeling of him not being someone powerful for one. Since he becomes the king, everyone seems to be wary of him and truth to be told, Jelani doesn't like it very much. Therefore, he likes being whipped to have the feeling of being someone normal again.

► Like lazying or joking around if there's no serious thing he has to worry about: When he doesn't have anything to do which I might add, is not very often, Jelani likes laying around, doing absolutely nothing but relaxing completely. He let his guard down at this time and the only persons that can make him get up and do something are his wives.

► A bit of a pervert: Despite being a very good and fair king, Jelani is...quite 'flirty'. He isn't a complete pervert nor he's a pedophile or any combination of any strange sexuality but he falls in love...quite easily. That's why he often has a bit of incidents regard his children and/or his wives. Since he was young until now, he has fallen for at least five women...though his current wives are the ones he loves the most...he still once in a while, has some...affairs with other women...

Skills/Talents:

Leading skill: No one except Jelani can deny the fact that he has very good leading skill. He looks at a situation on different angles and choose the best course of actions. While he's not a genius, he does know how to look at a whole picture and not just some random aspect.

Redeeming people skill: Jelani himself doesn't understand if it's a natural talent or just a blessing but he, more often than not, can redeem a person, making them 'see the light' so to speak. He doesn't necessarily make a bad person turn into someone who loves rainbows and unicorns but he can make them see their wrong ways and hopefully, help them fix their way and repay their bad deeds.

Communicating skill: No matter how much he denies it, Jelani obviously has some communicating skill as he can charm other girls, express himself freely and his words can cut sharp like a knife if he wants to. Of course, normally, Jelani won't hurt anyone with his words...He's too good for that...but if he's pushed to the limit, he can and he will.

Public talking skill: Unlike some shy people, Jelani can talk in public and his speeches often inspire people. He doesn't brag about this skill but he's really pleased that he can possess this skill. It makes negotiations go much easier.

Preferred Weapon(s): Since he doesn't have any power, his only option is his physical skill and brainpower in order to defense himself as well as attack. He can use almost all kinds of weapons, though he is usually more comfortable when he uses his beloved katana which he named 'Luna' after an incident in the past.

Personal History:
Being born into a poor farmer house in the middle of nowhere, Jelani used to a quite and reserved child in the family. Being the elder brother, he had the responsibility to take care of his younger brother Steve and he did his job without complaining. As a child, Jelani was practically friendless and lonely because no one would wanted to play with a person that had such 'weird personality'. In the morning, he would helped his parents looking after Steve, trying to cook if he could and cleaning the house. Though Jelani had a very peaceful life, he was never truly happy. He knew the situation and he knew about the wars. He pitied the others and wanted to stopped those wars for good. However, he could not do it. At least, not yet. He didn't have the power nor armies to do anything. when he grew up some more, Jelani decided to go traveling around the kingdom, trying to find a way to save Winterfall. Well, his attempt did not go in vain as he could find some more people that had the exact same thoughts about the wars. He gathered them together and began a rebel.

At first, the rebel was small and couldn't even do any serious damages...but then, its name slowly became famous over the years as Jelani with some of his best commanders defeated the enemies left and right. People gradually believed in the rebel and joined it, making it bigger. At last, Jelani won the war and became the king with the support of his family and friends right by his side. In the years when he traveled, Jelani had met his wives and promised he would make them his official wives once he became the king. He did not forget his promise as he made Pip and Yenna his wives. He then traveled some more, met some new people and fell in love once again...but at time, he didn't really think it would leave any serious consequences as he left his new 'lover' behind. He met Alex and he had adopted the boy as his own because he wanted to give the boy a home. He met Akihiro - a talented but misguided soldier as he also gave him a second chance. He tried to save as many people as he could. Some years later, when he heard that 'that night' had resulted in him having another daughter, he quickly took her to the Palace, trying to make it up for her for the time he had neglected her. Unfortunately, Winterfall was still not very stable and therefore, Jelani and his family had been targeted by many people. To protect himself and the ones he loved, he called all the most talented people he could find at that chaotic time and called them 'The guardians'.

Jelani Odon Willard
~ The Sunrise Palace ~ The Garden ~

It was a nice day today. On the bright blue sky, the sun was shining and its light reflexed on the blue water of the Wishing Lake, making the lake sparkled like a diamond. On the trees inside the Teardrop forest, the birds were singing their morning songs, the animals were looking for food and the people were busy doing their things. Overall, it was a peaceful scene and no one would have guessed the country had undergone a war at first glance. However, if they looked closely enough, they would still see new constructions being built or the rubbles scattered on some locations inside Snowflake City - the capital of Winterfall. In the center of the city, laid a beautiful Castle. It was the Sunrise Castle - the symbol of hopes for the people - where the king and his family lived. 'Such a beautiful morning...' A young man thought as he ran his hand through his long hair, sighing softly as he looked at the garden of his beloved house where some birds were still finding the food. The young man's name was Jelani Willard and he was the current king of Winterfall. He was hailed the hero and yet he was also hated by many. Jelani closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, doing nothing but enjoying the scents of the morning flowers. '...but even so, why do I keep having the feeling like something bad would happen soon?' his long bangs covered his eyes as the king gently pushed the bangs to the sides, massaging his eyes tiredly. Even though he had won the wars, there were still many lives lost. Flashes of memories appeared in front of Jelani as he remembered all the lives that he had taken...It was a war and it was necessary to do so...but that didn't mean he enjoyed it.

He stood up and reached out to grasp a white daisy. He placed the flower on his opened palm, staring at it with a thoughtful look as he smelled the flower. It had very nice smell. The corner of Jelani's lips tucked slightly as he saw a butterfly flied by and landed on another flower. He wished this peaceful atmosphere would never end. Jelani looked at the mountains far away from the palace, the flower laid forgotten on the ground. Sometimes, he really missed his old life, where everything was so very simple. Now, he had to carry a heavy weigh on his shoulder, being the king, the hero of the kingdom was no easy task. Sometimes, he had to make very hard choices...but not every choice he made was the right choice. Some were but some were not. Looking back, Jelani wished he had taken better care for his children and namely, his daughter. But he couldn't really be blamed for it, could he? He didn't even know she existed until just recently. He hoped she was adjusting well with the new environment. He would let no one harm her. She deserved that much. Speaking of harm, Jelani looked down at his right hand which was bandaged carefully by a white cloth. There was another assassinate attempt last night...and this time, he almost lost his life if not for a brave soldier scarified himself to protect the king. He would remember to visit the man's family later and give the family some money to support. His eyes suddenly had a deep sadness. He hoped his guardians would arrive soon because if not, well, he didn't know how long he could protect himself and his family like this. The tired king closed his eyes and began to let himself be pulled into another memory, this time of a laughing woman on a daisy field...

Leona-Elious Carlyle-The Watchtower

A soft breeze carried the scent of the forest through the open windows of the tower. Being the highest point in the castle, the city and surrounding area bows down to the spire. The lush green canopy of the Teardrop Forest waved like a rippling pool as the wind beckons it's branches to dance. Sunshine reflected off of The Wishing Lake, giving it a serene rosy hue. The city bustles with life, microscopic citizens move about the streets on the warm morning.
White wispy feathers drift down through the sky as Aleem swoops into the Tower, landing on a fair woman's outstretched arm. His sharp talons sink into a leather bracer strapped to her arm, a black cloak shrouds her limber form.
As she lifts her head, her hood falls back, long black hair tumbles from it's confines and the rich sunlight reflects the golden hues of her deep hazel eyes. She smiles, but her eyes still hold sorrow. A black journal sits in her lap, her ivory hand peeking out from her shroud, clutching it's worn cover. Aleem coos as she sits on the edge, looking over the palace.
"What news do you bring my love?" a sweet voice breaks from her solemn lips as she cuddles the bird.
"All is calm in the Kingdom on this first blush, Some of the guardians the King summoned are approaching the Castle. Shall I continue my vigil fair Ei?
Flipping open the journal, she pulls feather from Aleem and holds her arm out to him. The owl reaches out with a tapered talon and drags it swiftly across her skin. A moment passes, and a thin red line forms from his cut.
"Bring the update to His Highness, and continue your watch," her soft voice breaks the silence as she drags the feather through the blood and swiftly jots a message out, tearing the page from it's bindings and tying it gingerly to the Owl's leg.
With his message secure he bows to her,"As you wish Lady Leona," and takes off, swooping around the tower and out of her sight. Standing, she takes one last look over the morning horizon, then descends down the spiral staircase, carefully watching her step on the uneven stairway as she makes her way down to the Courtyard of the castle.

Penelope Piper Willard ~ The Music Room

The morning sun bathes a sable grand piano, as a beautiful melody fills the large empty room. Sitting at the piano is a fair woman, her thin pale fingers dance across the ivory keys, lingering here and there. The figure, dressed in a ribbon bodice, with a flowing hem sits perfectly still at the instrument, only her fingers move as she sits motionless, her soft lids covering her green eyes.
She sits and plays to her hearts content, the melody becoming the incantation of serenity flowing through her.
The tune abrubtly stops as a young girl dressed as a maid slips into the room, bowing , "Queen Penelope, our guests will be arriving soon. Will you be greeting them today?"

"I believe I shall," The fair Queen rises, her dress falling around her as she slides the cover shut. Slowly she brushes out any wrinkles, and adjusts a ribbon before turning.
Penelope's gaze fell on the bowing girl, her figure shrouded in wispy yellow light. A smile forms across her lips as she crosses her hands in front of her, and approaches the girl.

"Thank you, you are dismissed."

The soft sound of Penny's heels filled the now silent room as she crossed to the window looking over the garden. A flash of white dove across her vision, and carried her gaze down to the King. A shining pillar of white, dancing around him in balance, with streaks of orange and yellow dipping in and out of his aura, with a single strand of grey. At the sight of him she smiled, truly a smile to touch all of her face. Leaning out the open window she waved, calling down to him as she blew a tender kiss, "Good morning my love!"
Sitting up in the windowsill, she looked out over the garden, as the warm air teased her long mauve strands. She watched her King embrace the beauty of the day, and wondered just how many new guards were going to join them today. Lifting her gaze she watched the dust kick up from a carriage in the distance, and gave Jelani a quick wave before turning from the window and passing through the solid doors of the Music room. Keeping her head down, she walked with her hands crossed down to the ground floor. Once through the large exterior doors she once again lifts her head, smiling.
Slowly she reaches out to touch the King's arm, and beams up at him,
"You're aura is so happy today," softly she presses his hand to her fair lips, "But I still detect a hint of concern. Do not fear, these guardians are of your own choosing, we have no doubts they will do very well. When it comes to matters of the heart, and your family, you've never been wrong before.
Scanning the horizon, the carriage came into view in the distance. Penny stood next to her King and awaited the arrival of their guardians.

Zephyr Crimson ~ The Solar

Zephyr found it very easy to read and walk at the same time. While most people might stumble on an unseen displacement in the ground or bump into a passerby, Zephyr could was versed well enough to sense where people were and make adjustments as he walked. He was reviewing the written reports on the selected guardians again, making sure he had not missed anything crucial and once again alleviating himself of the stress that any of these guardians might be a spy or assassin of some sort. Lord knew they had seen enough of those lately. Just last night the there had been another one. Zephyr had besseched the King to allow him to give him more guards but the King told him to wait for the guardians to arrive. Zephyr sighed to himself. At least they would be arriving today.

Zephyr glanced up from his book to take in his surroundings. He could walk and read at the same time but sometimes he could lose his way in thought. He was at the entrance to the garden. He instantly made out the King with his wife standing in the sun admiring the day. Zephyr closed his notes and went to join them, giving a short bow as he approached the two. "Good Morning Your Majesty, my Lady, is it not one of the most beautiful days you have seen this year? A perfect day for us to greet your new guardians, I must say."

Claire Sawyer ~ The Palace Gates

Claire approached the castle slowly. She had never been here before. This was all new to her, she hadn't even expected the King to pick her as one the the guardians. But he had and she was here, there was no turning back and no running away. She had decided to do this and nothing was going to change her mind now. Claire started up the steps taking in her surroundings again. The guards stepped foward and stopped her. "May we see your letter Ma'am?" said one. They were being more formal than she expected but she saw some fear in thier eyes so someone must have scared them into proper behavior. Clair handed her letter to the asking guard. He let her pass and she climbed the rest of the stairs.

The inside of the castle was well-lit and there was ornamentation everywhere. She smiled slightly at it but held it for but a moment as she thought on how such fancy things were never in her life. She had never been necessairly poor but all this was a luxury to her and it bothered her slightly. She said a small prayer to herself asking the Goddess to bless those less fortunate and moved on. She noticed a group of different people ahead of her and guessed by the many manners in which they dressed that they must have been other guardians. She increased her pace a bit to join them but did not say anything. They could talk later, she wasn't musch concerned with idle chit-chat when the King was expecting to see them. She moved with the group crossing her arms and just tried to blend in.

Setz Cerves ~ The Castle Gates

Oh boy. What a day, what a day. What a very important day, indeed. Setz halted near the gates of the marvelous palace. He looked up at the sickeningly bright blue sky. Dear God, it was much too light outside for his liking. Luckily for him, his dark bangs shielded his narrowed, blackish eyes from the glare of the ever-shining sun. How distasteful. He gave a disdainfull sniff and lowered his gaze to the guards standing before the ornate gate. They looked serious, but no doubt they'd already let at least a few Guardians in before him. Now then: the task of entering the palace without too much trouble.

Back straight and head held tilted slightly upward, Setz confidently approached the gates. At once, one of them puffed out his chest and demanded, "Who goes there? What business have you at the castle?" Setz leered at the pair and shoved his hands in his pockets.

"I am the Guardian with the power of shadow, and I've been summned here by his highness," he answered cooly, running his thumb over the folded up parchment in his pocket.

"Aye?" one of them sneered. "Let's see your letter, then." The stout man stuck out his hand. Obligingly, Setz pulled the summons out of his pocket, unfolded it, and handed it to the man. The guard looked from the paper to Setz multiple times. When it was returned to him, the man still looked unsure. Growing irritated, Setz's eyes flashed red. His shadow rose from the ground and formed a humanoid figure, which hovered just behind his shoulders. Two pairs of leering red eyes locked on the guard, who trembled. The other guard hastily had the gate opened. Satisfied, a ghost of a smile passed over Setz's face. His eyes returned to normal, and his shadow sunk back into the ground. As he walked past, he noticed the guards eye his shadow warily. A discreet bead of perspiration formed on the crown of Setz's head as he entered the magnificent palace, but the exertion of using his powers at such an early time had been worth the look on their faces. Darkly amused, the Guardian swept his gaze slowly around the luxurious foyer, waiting for events to unfold.

[size=200]Pandora Willard ~ The Garden

Covering her mouth with her hand to hide a small yawn as she stretched her legs, Pandora gracefully made her way outside into the fresh air of the morning. She shielded her eyes with her hand at the sun's initial glare, but it subsided and she rested her hands at her sides. She caught sight of her husband with Penelope. Her eyelid twitched, as it always did when she saw her sister wife. She'd had time to get over her initial jealousy, however. After all, her husband was a bit of a lecher.

She strode up to them with a smile, planting a greeting kiss on Jelani's cheek and giving a little wave to Penelope. As Pan took her husbands arm, she greeted them. "Good morning! Big day, yes?"

KAYZIR ~ KAYZIR's SPIRE

Kayzir stood against his bedroom wall, eyeing himself in the mirror across the room. It was odd. Seeing himself, but so faint and distant away. Indeed, this is how he truly felt sometimes. So faint and distant away.

He had spent several hours in his bedroom this morning, just gazing at the mirror. What time was it? He wasn’t sure. He had been up for hours is all he knew. And yet it seemed like only moments before.

He had had a dream last night. He remembered a mystic white wolf and a black bear. A flaming, fiery sky, and burning snow. He saw his father, bleeding against a rock, sword shattered and surrounded by corpses.
He woke up in his pillowy bed, his quilts and sheets thrown off of him and his body sweaty and cold. He slide his fragile, princely hands across his soft, hairy chest. It seemed like his body was a lie. It seemed like he wasn’t meant to be a prince. It seemed to him that he was not fulfilling his potential.

Father is having his ‘guardians’ come in today, Kayzir remembered. How interesting. In his childhood, he remembered the royal guards in the barracks, getting dressed and undressed. He remembered Private Johans, his locks of gold and soft brown eyes. He loved him, and even though the private was perhaps another 7 years his senior, Kayzir knew Johans loved him back. The moments they shared, a few taboos they embraced. He died a year ago.

Walking across his room to his balcony, high above Snowflake city, its frosty roofs and fluming, billowing snakes of smoke, Kayzir remembered the day they first took the capital of Winterfall. Father, mother and her sister-queen, the entire retinue of the revolution, the priests sympathetic to the cause, the knights, the royal guard, all marched up onto the palace. Kayzir was carrying his brother in his arms, though he himself was no older than 5 or 6. Now, Kayzir could see silhouettes gather at the gate, several carriages coming through and guards in disgruntled disarray.

Soon, Kayzir would have to descend the winding staircases of his spire, down the majestic Grand Staircase, and wait behind the throne in the courtroom for his father to welcome the guardians. Gazing out at the snow descend, a painful chill seized hold of his body; he realized at this that he was still very much bare naked, his body at full attention. He left the balcony and shut the French doors.

His room was baroque in style, ornate and embellished in a the unexpectedly beautiful romance of simplicity and lavishness. The walls were large, slightly vaulted, and curved to offer Kayzir an entirely circular suite. An entire spire to himself, really. It was where we practiced his writing in secret, where he prayed, where he slept, where he thought. His bed, in the direct center of his room, was lush indeed, with an imported mattress and silky sheets of deep blue, and covered by three thick quilts to combat the chills of both height and season. A few foot away from the foot of the bed was the fireplace, embers still slightly blazing from the previous night, and a few ornate bookcases with rare antiquaties Kayzir had begun to collect a few years ago.
To the right of his bed, was of course the marble balcony, whose double doors were normally covered by the blue curtains attached to them. Beyond the doors, there was a simple, wooden rocking chair which Kayzir had found in the spire from the previous regime. Between the balcony and the bed was his desk, dark oak, covered in thrown papers. Behind the head of the bed was his altar, a thing he kept to himself, the center of his prayers, though it was usually hidden by a large, black velvet sheet. To the left of the bed were the stairs which led to the lower level of his suite, where he entertained personal guests, and where his lavatory, his walk-in closet, and the spiral staircase began.

Standing there naked, he thought to himself, The guardians best stay away from my room. Excited for the guardians? Perhaps. Worried more than anything. Worried about everything. Concerned for Father, concerned for mothers, concerned for his brothers, and his sister. Mostly worried that his secret would be revealed.
