Abilities
Raziel is the only known Aeon, a term used to describe the angelic creatures the Mantran supposedly used to protect the world, also call a Child of the Matran. There is almost nothing anyone knows about these beings, and at this time Raziel is the only one known to have surfaced. While most would assume an Aeon is a Phoenix they are actually opposites, while Aeonās have similar powers they often are far more varied in their application. However Aeonās are held in legends to only be able to use their powers in the presence of Phoenix, making them far more limited. Still these legends are so ancient none in Sor remember them and so to most Raziel is just the Child of the Matran, a powerful youth blessed by the Matran to defeat the enemies of the empire.
History
Born as one of the latter sons of the king Augustus II, Raziel was raised as any other Prince would be, with the largest silver spoon in his mouth. He was never truly scorned when he was petty or foolish by the staff and his father was busy with the wars against Ulfire and guarding the northern border to deal with him as a young child. However, there was one that did have the time for him, his older sister Anora and her husband, Artemis Maximus.
Artemis wasnāt like his other siblings by blood nor was he like the servant or guards, he would scold Raziel plenty, even use corporal punishment if the situation warranted it. Artemis became a surrogate father, often the boy would pester the man to hear his old war stories, and obviously looking up to a legendary soldier influenced the young man. When he turned ten he requested to begin training in combat. Artemis, the Prime Archon (the Kingās private guard and head of the Archon Order) at the time, accepted his request and began his training on grounds that the boy should be able to protect himself.
The training was tough, immeasurably so, and over the next seven years the young prince was honed by Artemis into a fighter unparalleled by others his age. And when he turned fifteen he entered the Capima Academy. In two years heād become a the equivalent of a fourth year student, now only having his first deployment between him and graduation, however his older brother Odysseus (Crown Prince at the time) refused, citing the danger of such and saying he wasnāt ready. Raziel argued and sent for Artemis. To his horror when Artemis, his master, arrived he agreed with Odysseus. Raziel decided then that heād have to take matters into his own hands.
He snuck aboard the Seraphim as it launched to track down his brother-in-law and embarked on the path to his destiny.
