Description

Raziel de la Sora

Age: 17
Gender: Male
Rank: Crown Prince of Sor
Marital Status: Single

Physical Description
A young man of peak condition heā€™s trained since he was a boy, intending to join the military and follow his brother-in-lawā€™s steps as a famous Archon. However recent events torpedoed that. The young man remains fit as a warrior and retains the good looks of the royal line. His silvery blonde hair and clean cut features in tandem with his superstar complexion.

Equipment
Equipped with a new set of bio-enhanced armor crafted by the incomparable ā€œHephaestusā€ the personal smith of the Archons, Raziel endured a grueling and incredibly painful

Abilities
Raziel is the only known Aeon, a term used to describe the angelic creatures the Mantran supposedly used to protect the world, also call a Child of the Matran. There is almost nothing anyone knows about these beings, and at this time Raziel is the only one known to have surfaced. While most would assume an Aeon is a Phoenix they are actually opposites, while Aeonā€™s have similar powers they often are far more varied in their application. However Aeonā€™s are held in legends to only be able to use their powers in the presence of Phoenix, making them far more limited. Still these legends are so ancient none in Sor remember them and so to most Raziel is just the Child of the Matran, a powerful youth blessed by the Matran to defeat the enemies of the empire.

History
Born as one of the latter sons of the king Augustus II, Raziel was raised as any other Prince would be, with the largest silver spoon in his mouth. He was never truly scorned when he was petty or foolish by the staff and his father was busy with the wars against Ulfire and guarding the northern border to deal with him as a young child. However, there was one that did have the time for him, his older sister Anora and her husband, Artemis Maximus.

Artemis wasnā€™t like his other siblings by blood nor was he like the servant or guards, he would scold Raziel plenty, even use corporal punishment if the situation warranted it. Artemis became a surrogate father, often the boy would pester the man to hear his old war stories, and obviously looking up to a legendary soldier influenced the young man. When he turned ten he requested to begin training in combat. Artemis, the Prime Archon (the Kingā€™s private guard and head of the Archon Order) at the time, accepted his request and began his training on grounds that the boy should be able to protect himself.

The training was tough, immeasurably so, and over the next seven years the young prince was honed by Artemis into a fighter unparalleled by others his age. And when he turned fifteen he entered the Capima Academy. In two years heā€™d become a the equivalent of a fourth year student, now only having his first deployment between him and graduation, however his older brother Odysseus (Crown Prince at the time) refused, citing the danger of such and saying he wasnā€™t ready. Raziel argued and sent for Artemis. To his horror when Artemis, his master, arrived he agreed with Odysseus. Raziel decided then that heā€™d have to take matters into his own hands.

He snuck aboard the Seraphim as it launched to track down his brother-in-law and embarked on the path to his destiny.

So begins...

Artemis Maximus
ā€The Silver Reaperā€

Artemis stood upon the Command Deck of the Combat Station Valhalla. Yes, Command Deck, not Bridge. The Valhalla was massive, beyond massive in fact. The Station was designed to act as a front line fortress against the enemies of Sora, and when Artemisā€™ forces disabled and captured the fortress almost without a fight at the Battle of Capima three months earlier that fortress was preserved. Now the fleet was docked in holding around the great base as it held orbit around the planet Snaeva. Of course the view of the planet was marred, the sky darkened as flashes of war echoed on the surface of the planet below. War with Sorillian versus Sorillian and Ulfarian, it was no doubt a hell.

Docking at the forward bay closest to the deck was a group of silver clad vessels. One of which held nearly as much history as the man commanding the entire fleet, The Seraphim. The massive Silver Vessel was actually smaller than most other Sorillian ships of the Flagship classes, though still classified as a Battle Cruiser. This vessel was Artemisā€™ personal ship. One heā€™d purchased and armed to transport his own Mercenary force years ago. The Heavenā€™s Legion.

Of course back then, and up until the most recent war, the Heavenā€™s Legion was only ever at a number of 2000 men. However in light of the recent war the men made a unilateral move to expand while Artemis and their captain Michael were missing. Itā€™s been almost eight months since each member of the extremely highly trained force found ten others to train as they had been trained. Now Artemisā€™ formerly private force numbered 20,000, and was the spearhead of the war effort. Every member of the original Heavenā€™s Legion was trained personally by Artemis over the past fifteen years meaning that this was still one of the greatest forces in the entire war.

The bridge shook as several blue lights flashed past the window, before several more came past more slowly that the speeding vessels, a Squadron of Lion-heart Heavy Fighters, that were in patrol around the fleet. There were hundreds more than those six. The officers below at their various desks were responding to communications, shouting back and forth to one another as their men reported in from both the fleet and the planet below. A low rumble and vibration shook the glass as more thrusters entered view.

ā€œSir, Legion 14 and HL 12 are ready to dispatch, the Jardia reports all enemy units in path destroyed. We are go for drop.ā€ An officer called to Artemis.

He breathed in the artificially cleaned air and exhaled, hating the feeling of it, ā€œLaunch them, the front lines down there could use some reinforcement.ā€ He wished he could join them, could go down to the surface of that war-torn planet himself as he would have years ago and push the enemy out, as he had in the sky, but the man that the Ulfire Empire Military had nicknamed ā€œThe Silver Reaperā€ was now the husband of the reigning Reagent and had several extra duties now.

ā€œAye, aye, Sir!ā€ the officer replied and turned back to her console, calling out the orders to the drop ships. The rumbling increased as two large Calypso Drop-ships passed by the large windows heading to the planet below. There were another six that were dropping form other ports with them, another deployment of four thousand more soldiers. Half basic Legionaries but half of them were something else; members of the Heavenā€™s Legion. On the ground these silver armored soldiers had command authority beyond any standard ranked Legionnaire and most other officers. They were the arm of the Kingdom and would into be defeated easily. Special forces. Artemis felt save leaving the battle below reinforced by them. Of course there was another 12thousand of them on the planet already but the rest of the force was spread out among the stars.

A young officer named Kyleson stepped up to Artemis and saluted, ā€œSir, the Seraphim is prepped and ready for you. She can launch any time.ā€

ā€œVery good. I hate taking her off the front, given the effect she can have, but I need to get back to Capima, at least for a little while. Kyleson, tell General Alger that the Valhallaā€™s forces are at his control. But no matter what do NOT turn the main guns on that planet. Under stood? We control the orbit of this planet, so the enemies down there are not getting reinforced easily, this is a siege. Keep the pressure on.ā€ With that he left the deck and boarded his own ship. The bridge here was so much smaller, then again so was the whole vessel. Normally you could fit a bloody city inside a ship of Sor, but the Seraphim and other vessels like it were more conservative, with small corridors and bulk heads. Much more ship like than its cousin the Princeton Five. He ordered the ship to head out and make for Capima; taking one last look at the enflames planet behind. He hated this. Snaeve was beautiful, until this war started, now it was the front line of the new battle that was waging, and he doubted that it would ever be the same again.

Artemis Maximus
ā€The Silver Reaperā€

Artemis looked out at the vast empty space before him as the Seraphim drifted through the blockade formation. They couldnā€™t just warp from the dock to Capima, things werenā€™t clear as they moved about, ducking and weaving through many ships of various types and sizes as the vessel made for the outer reaches of the fleet that surrounded the Valhalla. The battle-cruiser was so noisy, with the engines and officers and crew all adding to the din, yet Artemis was able to tune it all out and felt at peace. Relaxed in a way he hadnā€™t felt in some time he just let his mind rest for a few moments. After all heā€™d been strung like a piece of tanning leather, drying and stretched in the sun, with the front lines draining him. He was returning to Capima to deal with some high ranking Knight Generals true but he was also kind of taking a small vacation. After all, his wife was there.

ā€œSir?ā€ the communications officer called softly to him, as he was sitting back in his chair seemingly adrift in a day dream.

ā€œHmm? Oh, uh, Yes, Lieutenant Avery?ā€ he replied after fluttering his eyes open again.

The officer quietly nodded and clicked a button bringing up a com channel on his terminal, ā€œYouā€™re call to General Malkini is going through now, sir.ā€

He nodded as the officer left and sat up straight before clearing his throat and fully opening the channel. ā€œAhemā€¦ Aidenā€¦ Aiden! Come in.ā€ he called. He had made arrangements for Aiden Malkini to become a General again shortly after the Battle of Capima. Why? Well true Artemis and Malkini got along like cats and dogsā€¦ due to past experience. But fact was Artemis needed a person in the ranks of the Knights he could, well not necessarily trust but, for lack of a better term predict.

Anora Maximus
ā€The Lady of Sorā€

Anora breathed out a deeply held breath as Artemisā€™ figure slowly faded into the static of the holo-terminal. She silently prayed for his safety again as she always did. He was a soldier, true, and a legendary one, and so long as someone faced him form the front and in open combat she could count the number of people she thought could kill him easily on one handā€¦ zero is really easy to countā€¦ but the problem was that not everyone faced you when they struck, and beside that as dangerous as Artemis was a battleship heavy ion cannon wasnā€™t something you could deflect with a sword. But she had other fish to fry as she gathered her thoughts and looked down at the controls, typing in another set of numbers to send out another call.

The hologram didnā€™t burst into life this time and instead she just leaned against the nearest railing of the terminal and crossed her arms. The link crackled to life and she spoke clearly and with assertion, ā€œItā€™s meā€¦ you can leave the room nowā€¦ and shut surveillance down to the Interview Room.ā€ She said. She heard a sharp reply in Boan of ā€œYes, your Majestyā€ and boots marching out of the room, a door opening, and then that door closing again. Now the only sound passed through the speaker was the light breathing of the person she knew was chained in the metal enclosed room, a prisoner that was not on the regular list of convicts, a man who so far as almost the entire rest of the universe was concerned was dead.

Several moments of silence ensued before she spoke again, ā€œHello, again, Ylycountā€¦ are you ready to tell me why Iā€™m alive yet?ā€ she asked. It was the same routine every three days, but she had to know. This master assassin had failed to kill her and her son, and when he was captured later in the war she ordered him to be isolated and made certain her Husband didnā€™t find out (he would no doubt have killed Ylycount in an instant for that transgression) all just to ask that question. That simple question. Why?
