Description

Physically taller than most women, perhaps hitting near the 6ft mark, her body is somewhat more powerful looking. She wears heavy clothing, often red, black, or brown as they are useful travel colors and hide her decaying features. These change often/always, as the disease seems to get better or worse at its leisure.

Usually preferring a heavy overcoat, in which the sides contain holdings for various chemicals, tools, ect. Her skin is pale, but becomes flushed easily, showing easily when she is furious or suffering. The features are sharp, wolf-like, and the eyes are yellow, shimmering with possibly a full blooded Werewolf line, and red strands of hair dance around her features, falling from underneath a feminine bonnet.

As most of the woman is covered, there is very little detail that is specific.

When becoming a wolf, the color of fur is a dark black, very threatening in her body size, which is large comparing the common "Normal" wolves. However, patches of fur are missing, making her appear somewhat mangy. A side effect of the leprosy cursing her body.

Personality

Elena shows all the signs of a early scientist, being naturally curious about the world. It is almost never enough for her to know that something is, but strives to know why. Her methods are perhaps the early signs of method, instead of superstition, basing most of her intimate knowledge off fact, instead of the emotions around it.

This studious nature can make her difficult to talk with, as she is very single minded when wrapped up in her studies. Preferring quiet to conversation. This solitude nature also combines with a harsh tongue, very aggressive to religious types. She strongly believes that faith is for the blind, and only science can offer any useful gains in a society.

Intelligent, open minded individuals she tends to idolize, prizing their ability to think outside the box. As such, being such a idealist can be a liability, but she never the less continues to impress with results. Still this makes her a figure that you would not want to bring to a church for long periods of time.

Ultimately, as a person she is materialistic, quick witted, educated, cunning, greedy, cold, with sparks of ambition, yet shows strong signs of loyalty, due to her werewolf heritage.

Equipment

As a studious woman, she often carries the tools necessary to perform various duties in the field. However, many items are fragile, and as such are stored in either packs, or when having access to it, a heavy trunk that carries many of the supplies, including most of her books, which covers many aspects such as anatomy or chemistry. Stills and other chemistry tools as well.

On her person, she is never without surgeons tools: early scalpels, a nasty looking bone saw (which easily doubles as a large dagger if necessary, but lacks the silver to be devastating. Still the item has been known to cut easily to the bone if one swings hard enough), several large poultices of her own concoction(many of which contain high proofs of alcohol, unknowingly providing sterilization for much of her work.), writing utensils, explosives, (by mixing the right ratio of gunpowder's ingredients and producing essentially early grenades), and bottles of high proof alcohol, due to its extremely flammable nature and serving as a base in many of her concoctions.

Other items include maps/navigational items, pocket watch, latern, early matches, and other small essentials. Ultimately most of her items are expendable, as in combat there is a far more important role of surviving than preserving ones gear. However, since funding is getting rarer and rarer... she may often times loot to acquire the necessary income.

History

During the years following the Crusades, man power was stretched to protect the outlying villages in both territories. This made the area a prime location for literal feeding grounds for Vampires and those who served them. One by one these small hamlets fell into darkness, becoming breeding grounds for not only the undead, but disease.

The werewolf Elena was a mortician, alchemist, pioneer embalmer, grave keeper, docter/surgeon, possible witchcraft practitioner, and ultimately the undertaker responsible for burying the dead, and more importantly, making sure they stayed where they rested. It was through this practice that she obtained bits of leprosy, unknown exactly how it spread to her. Causing the woman to cover her body, usually in red so that the bloodstains from her practice, as well as those from herself, would not horrify those few who would meet with her. However, due to her werewolf ancestry, the disease flowing around her moves slowly, and even sometimes recovers, making her somewhat sickly, but not enough to severely weaken or kill her. She is not contagious.

The woman had taken a more "Scientific" approach to preserving the dead, flooding the body with holy water and filling it with chemicals of her own concoction, to make sure that those under her hand never rose again. However, to the religious people of her village, her work was something of witchcraft, and she eventually was forced to move on.

Without her assistance, the village later became over-run, and those few who survived longed to kill Elena, believing her to have cast a spell for her. She ran, fearful of her own life. Hunted down in the dark like the animal she became during the night. Fear is what inspired her to seek Amnesty with the Aldanian, who were fearful of her talents, but also understanding of her nature as a werewolf.

It was here that she was looked into to join other vampire hunters, due to her intimate knowledge of the dead and undead. She had first hand experience and practice with keeping vampire influences away from a village, and that knowledge went past any fear of her practice of witchcraft, but made many question the nature of her existence, as Leprosy was more of a trait to be thought of income with the undead, rather than the living.

She eventually proved herself as extremely skilled in tracking the undead, as leprosy actually hid their detection of her, and both her medical knowledge and chemical experience, has provided a extremely useful hand to those needing her assistance. The mere fact that she is werewolf makes her nearly invaluable as a member of combat, showing that sometimes, how were you born can give you a boon for greatness.
