# Dobrev's Aslyum for the Mentally Insane, 2010-08-11 18:37:18, as written by AvalonNight
Haven walked the halls of the asylum, looking for Dr.Dobrev, her heels clacking on the marble floors. She heard a gurgling noise looked to the side. A human man was walking toward her, eyes glazed over. She took him, bit into him, and sucked him dry. When she was done, she cradled the body and wept without tears. "It was a mercy killing," she whispered to the corpse.

"Ms.Grazer?"

Haven scrambled up and tossed the body aside. "Hello Docter, I was here for a feeding, but I took care of that already, so goodbye." At that she walked out. She went straight to a club to dazzle the guys and dance a little. She sat at the bar and ordered a spiked drink. She flashed the bartender a smile, which paid for the drink. A gangster looking guy came over to her.

"Are you a model, 'cause you look straight off the runway?"

"Are you Macaulay Culkin, 'cause you're going to be walking Home Alone." He left, not realizing how lucky he was.

Imogene sped around a sharp corner with her shining black jaguar. A dark grin on her red lips. She skidded to a stop before she took out a heavy iron gate. She entered a code into a keypad and waited for the gate to open. She drove in and killed the engine, stepping out of her car her stilettos clicked on the cement. She tossed her car keys to one of the hired help to put it in the garage. Imogene walked tiredly into her large mansion like home, tossed her coat on the coat rack and wandered up the stairs. Her bedroom windows were already securely closed and the heavy shades were tied into place, she checked them anyways.

Her servants were obedient and loyal, and she trusted this fact as she went into a sleep like trance on a feather down bed with satin sheets. The only protection over her heart was the sheets and a pretty lace nightie. She was respected by the vampire community and she never caused problems. She was fine in her surroundings.

Kit's cane clacked on floor of the bar as he made his wandered, inspecting the people there. It wasn't the fanciest place he had ever been-those were in Venice, but it would do for hunting down an evening meal. Especially since he didn't feel like calling up one of his harem for a 'dance and snack'. No, he felt like draining the life from some unsuspecting person over the age of eighteen.

That idea was thrown out the door by a new whim, however, when he spotted Haven. Kit didn't know her. Not really. But he did have his ears to the ground, so to speak, and had heard of her. A vampire like himself, she was said to be pretty heartless when it came to humans. Of course, no one had ever seen her actually do anything to one, so all that could well be just talk.

Which meant that Kit would more than likely be able to have a little fun.

He drank down the gin he had ordered in two gulps as he sidled up to where she was sitting. Kit took up the empty seat next to her, caught the eye of the bartender, and ordered another glass.

“Hey love,” He said to her, a English accent tinting his words. “Up for some fun tonight?”

He let the alcohol color his words just a little, as he generally did at bars, and flashed her one of his charming grins. The question easily held more than one meaning. Did she want to go get a bite to eat? Did she want to head to somewhere...quiet? The humans in the area would, of course, assume he meant the second.

Haven looked the newcomer up and down. She took a long drink of her Bloody Mary, then said, "It seems my reputation preceds me. Unfortunatly, I have just had a bit of...fun, and any more would be gluttony. And I don't need yet another sin on my head," She added that last part very sarcastically. She got up from the bar and sauntered out, but not without having her butt slapped as she walked by while being hooted by beer gut red-necks. Haven ignored them and walked to her apartment across the street to her apartment and disapeared through the lobby.

Well, that certainly wasn't as entertaining as he had thought it would be. Rather boring, actually, Kit thought as he watched her leave. Then he paid the bartender for Haven's drink as well as his own, working on the assumption that she probably had just charmed the guy into giving her one for free. The bartender looked grateful, but that may well have been because of the tip Kit left.

Then he followed after her. Kit didn't particularly care if he was seen, betting on the fact that she wouldn't do anything in such an open area and counting on the fact that any passer-bys would just ignore him. It was a pity. Back in the day people used to stop if they saw something out of place. But now...

Now he was able to follow her into the quiet lobby of an apartment complex.

“Well, damn.” He said as soon as he caught up to her. Both the accent and the slight drunken lilt to his voice were gone. The grin, however, stayed. “I was hoping for a little change in the monotony of things.”

"Just don't know when to quit do you? I should call security. They don't tolerate stalkers, especially ones with fake accents. But I won't for sheer curiosity's sake. So what did you have in mind? And I mean other than blood drinking so don't be a smart ass," Haven said, her hands on her hips. The man at the front desk glanced up, then went back to his phone call, muttering, "Damn goth chick is at it again."

“Hmm...”

The gears in Kit's mind whirled. Killing was evidently off-limits, and he wondered why she was so adamant about that. Most vampires fell into one of two categories. Those who embraced it and had no issue with drinking blood, and those who couldn't stand being vampire. Haven seemed like the kind to fall into category number one, from what he had heard. So what was with the whole not willing to go out and hunt deal?

“Well, y' can kill without drinking.” He commented to see her reaction. And simply because she had told him not to be a smart ass. “If you arn't up to that...you could always come steal a painting with me. Usually proves entertaining.”

Stealing paintings had never let Kit down on a boring night. Especially with all the newfangled technology the humans were constantly coming up with. And once enough time had passed the painting could always be sold back for much more than paint and paper should have been worth.

Imogene tossed in her bed. She put on a good show of being pretty human for the servants in her house. But there were a select few who knew of her exploits. Rising out of bed and dressing in her favorite black jacket, white slacks and black stiletto boots, she let her black hair cascade down her back like a dark waterfall. She slipped from the house quietly and drove to a common human area. It was a more upscale bar. Some how though the taste of obnoxious blood was never as good as a honest human. She wasn't really sure if the rest of her kind could taste the difference but She could. She drove away from the ritzy bar before she even paused to think about puling over.

She flipped open a little black book, found a name and an address and went to different neighborhood. She parked her car outside and walked up to a older apartment building. She stepped inside, past the two in the lobby and waited for the elevator. The two seemed to be either an odd couple or a desperate looking for fun. She sighed as she waited for the elevator, her hands buried in her pockets, the collar flipped up around her face. The man behind the counter had an arrangement with her and he ignored her wisely. Her passings were disregarded and forgotten.

Haven shot the woman she guessed was a hooker a suspicious look as got on the elevator, then faced the strange vampire. "Ok. Let's steal a Da Vinci, he was a big ass. He was supposed to paint me, but he said Mona Lisa was preggo with his kid, which I though was odd since I was told she was a man."

Kit, being Kit, gave a waggle of his fingers to Imogene as she stepped on the elevator. He had no idea who she was, but that didn't matter. He was a touch disappointed that Haven didn't respond to his comment about killing without feeding. But, since she did seem willing to go play with him, he was sure he would have another chance.

“Mm. Well, way I heard it she wasn't a he so much as she wanted to be. And back in that day it was a hell of a lot easier to pull of drag.” He sounded like he had tried it before. Which he probably had. “Anyways. Yeah. A Da Vinci. I'd say we should nab the Mona Lisa, but...”

But he had already done that years ago. The one that they currently had was nothing more than a really good knockoff. And it would be another five or ten years before he would bother to 'give' the original back.

"Let's go then." Haven started toward the door, then stopped and turned around. "Just because I'm doing this does not mean I trust you. And despite what you've heard, whether its that I ruthlessly torture humans or that I weep over their passing, I assure you that you have no idea who I really am, Mr. da Lefkey. And yes, I also know who are, so watch your back." At that, she strode out the double doors with a smirk on her face.

# New York City, 2010-08-12 21:58:00, as written by syrafay
Maeve wandered throughout the dark streets. She supposed she should be careful, but...she didn't even know what city this was. She knew she was somewhere in Northern America, but after a while, she'd just stopped paying attention to where her mindless traveling actually led her. Sighing, she glanced about, deciding she should have some idea of her bearings. It was obviously a run down part of the area, and when she paid even closer attention, she realized that, despite it being completely dark in the night, the decorations and buildings were Oriental in style. Maeve chuckled in realization. She was in Chinatown.

Knowing she would need to feed soon, she'd been hungry for quite a while now, Maeve paid even closer attention to the alleys and side-streets. No matter where you went, there was always trash somewhere. Finally she found an alleyway with one man outside. He was young, and she already could feel his vitality slipping throughout her body. The thought of it made her even more hungry, but she cautioned herself to approach him slowly. He appeared to be relaxing with a cigarette in hand, maybe drunk, and Maeve was again grateful that most if those human substances didn't affect her.

"Hello?" she said softly when she was a few feet away from him, playing up the innocence she knew she portrayed. "Do you need a companion?" He looked her over, and after he decided she wasn't any harm, he gestured for her to sit before completely ignoring her. Maeve sat obediently and, after looking at him up close, realized how handsome he was. His skin was the olive color of the Chinese, but it was perfectly smooth, not blemishes whatsoever. His features were a thing of beauty, and Maeve knew she would enjoy draining him, even if killing him would be such a waste. After all, the drawing of blood, if handled correctly, could be extremely erotic. Thoroughly excited, Maeve laid a hand on his arm and, when he raised his gaze to her eyes, released her hypnotic power. He froze, under her power completely, so she compelled him to kiss her, which he did. It didn't take long for Maeve to realize he was a very good kisser, and soon, she got caught up in the kiss alone. It was only when he pulled her to him and she was straddling his lap did she remember her purpose. She trailed feather light kisses down his jawline to his neck and paused, breathing in the beautiful scent of his life rushing through his jugular. Smiling, her canines slid out into her fangs, and she slipped them into his neck. She was feeding with fervor when she tapped his mind. He was so pure that she just had to pull back. She couldn't destroy something so beautiful.

“Its Mr. Lefkey. The 'De' is like 'the'. Useless, but there anyways.” Kit commented.

He wasn't at all surprised that Haven had heard of him. Quite a few people new him, at least in passing. And there were probably plenty more who knew him but didn't realize they did, considering how long he had lived.

“I'd heard both, actually.” He said with a shrug. “ My own opinion is still up in the air. But don't worry, I'll getcha nailed down eventually.”

Then, whistling, he walked over and held the door open for Haven. He gave her a friendly wink.

"What did I say about being a smart ass?" Haven looked around and found a familliar taxi cab. She beckoned it over. When it came she opened the door. Inside was an Indian man. "I realize you would rather walk, but I owe Faaris here a favor. He's my many-great nephew and he's been wanting to do something exciting. He's distant family, so I figured he should at least drive the getaway car," She leaned in and whispered to Kit. "Or get blamed in case we're caught. He's a persistent little devil, and I'm a bit sick of him, so it'll be double fun for me."

Reese would sigh as she moved down the street, her black and blue hair swaying softly with what little wind there is. She made sure that no one saw here, for she wanted to stay on the down low for a little. Looking around, she hugged her long black jaket around her form tighter as she slipped into her house, closing the door behind her. Slipping off her shoes she would collapse down on her couch after pulling all the shades down in her house so that it was completley dark.

“Hey.” Kit's voice sounded a little hurt. “I can't help it when you make it so easy.”

The statement about her great-whatever piqued his curiosity. Why in the world, if he bugged her that much, wouldn't she just kill the guy herself? A sense of morals, perhaps. Even he had those. Or maybe she was just keeping a promise. Or he was useful. Or...

Too many 'ors'.

Imogene raised a brow first at the look from the Gothic looking girl and then flicked her dark gaze to the man before the elevator arrived. The girl had her back to her and feeling a little playful she flashed a fanged grin to the man, he had been at least nice enough to wave. If anything she expected him to flinch slightly and wonder what she was or simple think she had large teeth. She stepped smugly into the dingy elevator and waited for it to carry her to the right floor.

Third Level. Apartment 32B. Monroe, Jackson.
Written in elegant script in the black book in her hand she stepped into the hallway and slid the book into the pocket inside, right below her unbeating heart. She stepped quietly to the right door and knocked. She waited and as the door opened she smiled politely.

"May I come in tonight, Mr. Monroe?" she asked in a silvery tone. The man was in his thirties, aged, tired but understanding, and quite giving. She hadn't feed from him in a couple months but he seemed pleased to see her "Of course Ms. De Selence." he stepped back to grant her entrance into his home. She slid out of her black jacket and tossed it over the couch.
"Are you doing well Mr. Monroe?"
"Yes, of course. I'm glad to see you again. And I assume your doing wonderful as well?"
Imogene smiled and nodded. She patted the couch seat next to her. "I cannot be here long..." It wasn't that she didn't mind the human, it was just she'd rather find some new blood.
Jackson Monroe nodded and started to unbutton his polo. He pulled it over his head and sat down next to her. She had been around in his life for a handful of years now and she was always as elegant and beautiful as the first time he'd met her. He hadn't believed her until the first bite. Now she came and went without any real attachments. Pleasantries were exchanged, business was taken care of and she left with a smile after blowing him a kiss. It was how it went every time, and how it would end ever time.

Imogene leaned into him as he wrapped an arm around her waist. She pressed a kiss to his collar bone and the space between his neck and shoulder. She waited for his breathing to calm some, adrenaline wasn't as tasty when it gave you jitters after wards. She fed from Monroe and waited til he seemed to fall asleep. She was never a painful feeder, half the time she never bit into the skin, just raking her fang across it sharp enough to slice and then she drank. She was an elegant, sophiticated vampire. She'd raised vampires that fed and destroyed humans, leaving behind dusty corpses that were mangled beyond recognizance. She left a fifty dollar bill on top of his coffee table. He would be hungry and weak when he woke up.

She left the apartment with her jacket tied tightly around her waist, her heels clicking down the off white tiles. Down the elevator and out the door. She stepped towards her car and reached into her pocket to get her keys.

Imogene slipped into her black car. She pulled the notebook from inside her jacket and wrote a date next to Monroe's name. It was good to keep track of things, she wouldn't visit him for a few more months. Til then she had others she could circulate through. The hunt was always at the back of her mind, trying to persuade her to hunt the free game that wandered the city. She shook her head some and licked her red lips. She turned the key and threw the jaguar into gear as she flew down the street to find her favorite secluded all night coffee spot. She had a couple hours to spare before the Day Moon rose and she needed to be inside.

She watched the tired and overworked humans mill about with their coffee's. The waitress was dead on her feet, and possibly pregnant. Imogene looked away with a silent snarl of disgust. She took her coffee to go and wandered down the street, the hot cup doing nothing but warm her cool porcelain skin.

Ah. So that was why she hadn't killed the guy yet. Or at least, that was what Kit figured might be one of the reasons. She liked having someone to argue with. Fasinating. And very...human.

“You know, they brought in The Last Supper for a temporary exhibit. The exhibit shut down a day ago, so they wouldn't have cleared it out yet. And it wouldn't be as heavily guarded. The lasers and weight sensing wall mounts would still be there, but that's no biggie...”

Kit ran through the list of things protecting the painting. Really, the weight sensing mounts were the most difficult to deal with. Lasers you just had to avoid, and though you couldn't see them just by spraying a can of axe in the room, such lasers generally didn't cover the tops of painting. But the mountings...those were real sensitive. Any slight difference and they would set off an alarm.

And then security would come, and the whole thing wouldn't be fun anymore. Because, for Kit, if he was going to steal something he had to do it without being seen, regardless of the fact that he could just kill off whoever saw him.

“And I think thats it. Yup. Wall mounting and lasers. And the security guards who should be patrolling the dinasaur, ancient man, and mammal exhibits right now.”

Imogene strode down the street past a girl (Reese) and paused, something about the girls long sigh caught her attention. Curious, she turned and followed the girl as she sipped her coffee. It wasn't uncommon for her to stalk other for a short period. It helped pass the time and was normally how she lived her life; through others, were it a mother picking her son up from a basketball game, a teen on the wrong path, too drugged to notice an earthly beautiful woman watching them, or the man that jogged at night and had a complete playlist of Red Hot Chili Peppers songs.

The coffee wasn't that good she had to admit but when you paid for something that you couldn't enjoy fully it didn't matter much. She knew the entire action of holding a steaming cup of liquid cafeine made her seem more realistic, more human. It was a game she played...fitting in with a race she wasn't a part of...

Imogene raised a brow some. Not many would notice her behind them, she assumed she saw purple contacts...Another one of those punk kids out on their own. She strayed farther behind watching. If she saw she was a nuisance she'd back off but her intent was innocent, no more than a subject of mild interest. She dropped her half full, still very hot coffee into a trash can and stuffed her slender long fingered hands into her pockets after pulling her collar up around her ears and chin. Maybe she'd scare the girl...Maybe not.
