Leon, using a knife he found in his dilapidated kitchen, cut two scars across his chest over his heart to remember the two lives he had just taken.
He had rushed to his house as soon as he could to rescue his son and wife, but when he got there he was brutally attacked by them. When it came down to it, Leon had two choices. He could kill his family and still live, or be killed and join the ranks of ruthless infected. Leon took a deep breath, steadied his aim and pulled the trigger twice. Wife and son dropped to the ground.
After the bleeding stopped, Leon put on his shirt and jacket and continued through the house looking for what he could salvage for the road to come. With a vengeance in his heart, Leon knew that he had to take matters into his own hands and try to rid Earus of it's infection.

After accompanying Leon to his home in Taruus, and watching as Leon had to change his world with two single shots. He knew there would be no chance to lighten th mood for a while. After convincing Leon about what to do next, they decided to do their best to not just survivethis outbreak. Ash and Leon then begin head to Ashes appartment so he could get his work pistol and a few other things for their journy to the port near the epicenter of the explosion to find any means of efficient transportaion out of the city. Ash notices a average vehicle outside that seems to still be intact enough to run. unfortuatle the gass is low and it will probably only get them as far as 6 miles, they would then have to walk the other 6 to his apartment. As they begin driving, Ash notices a small group in the distance, too far away to tell if they were infected or not.

Seven, eight, ten, twelve, fifteen. Bodies falling all around him. He somehow got himself caught in the middle of a huge crowd of infected. This is what he get's when he tries to help. He kicked an infected below the chin sending it into the air. He jumped into the air and struck it down, it landed on top of several others. Diving down on top of the recently fallen infected, his greaves cutting through their necks. Before the other's had a chance to react he spun in a half circle slicing the stomach's of various infected.
One of them charged straight at him. Ray jumped over the hideous creature slicing its legs as he came down. Another group of them charged him. He dove under and around one as it swung its hand at his neck. He kicked his leg back ward, slicing the creature. Using the momentum he proceeded to do a front flip his leg extended from the kick. He came down right on top of an infected's head, cutting through the bone and straight through the torso, splitting it in half. Two of them now. Running in between the now parted body of the infected. Ray fell on his back and slid, when he got close they jumped at him. He stuck his leg up and one of them became impaled. He quickly put his leg back down. The corpse stopped him, and the momentum pushed him into standing position with his free leg he kicked upwards killing the second. He put his leg down and side flipped, kicking the body of of his foot, and threw him into another group of them. He sprinted towards the group which was recovering from being knocked down. He used their backs, heads, and faces like stepping stones. With the last one fully standing up he jumped into the air above the crown of mindless creatures. He took the time to recount. Twenty-eight . Two infected jumped up to attack him, he did the splits. shoving a nice metal edge into their heads. As he came down he kicked in a crescent motion clearing a safe place for him to land. He landed on the corpses bending his legs and kneeling to absorb the impact. His toes where pointed downwards. He was balancing all his weight on the tips.

The creatures were hesitant they had severely underestimated his ability. He posed a much bigger threat to them than they did to him.
They all charged him at once. 'This is getting boring, they are all so weak.' he thought. He stood up and took his hands out of his pockets. "DIE!!" he screamed, followed by hysterical laughter.

Earus. What a pitiful place this once grand world had become. Shade stood above the city, surveying on a large partly crumbling building. He noted the infected roaming, and couldnt see what he could tell was a single "Normal" person. He wasnt normal. and what was the definition of normal? Part of the larger picture? If there were more Infected than anything else, wasn't that normal? He smirked at his own thought. Bottom line; it didnt matter. he was growing bored of these animals, and he was growing bored of fighting. Shade looked down, to see Infected fighting over a long rotted corpse a little ways away. "These things... They have to die. Someone had to get rid of them." He muttered. Shade turned slowly, from his rotting roof top. He had a long journey ahead of him, and it wasnt going to start itself.

Ash turend on the vehichle and leon soon followed in behind him. It was a small little hover car, it would rest in motion at about 2 feet above any surface. It could also travle over water. Hesitent about the group ahead, Ash stats towrd them seeing as how there was no other route to his home and trying to eas around them would waste their fule. As he came closer he fear became a realization, this was a group of infected from what he could se about 50 or so. Next to them were already demolished homes and vehicles left after the explosion. Ash also noticed a loose communications pole right in front of the group on the left hand side, an idea sprung into his head. He quickly speed up the car and in his mind he said to himself " God I hope this works". As he got closer to the pole he reached the speed of around 40 mph, "Just enough" he thought, and made a quick swerve of the wheel then turn right to send the car in to a drift. Luckly for him the group of infected hadnt noticed them yet, and he was able to smash the pole with the back end of his car. Sending it directly into the group of infected taking care of about 15 of them and injuring 7 or 9 more. By now the infected lucky enough to aviod the pole were in a full sprint after them. Ash's adrenaline began to pump through him as he heard their blood filled lungs scream out as they chased them. They were fast, too fast, the car was alread now maxed out at 55 mph "Piece of shit" Ash said to the car, "Go faster!"

Ray dodge out of the way of a crashing pole. The thing had fallen out of nowhere and it almost crushed him. He noticed that a group of the infected beasts had left him and begun to chase after a vehicle. It wasn't moving fast enough for them to get away.

He watched as the car hovered away the group of monsters following close behind and nearing them. He kicked backwards without averting his gaze. HE had killed most of the pack that stayed behind. The rest were either chasing the car, or hesitating on attacking him. He reached into his jacket and pulled out a shining silver flask, unscrewed the cap and took a long wholesome drink.
"I suppose i should help them, I swear to whatever god there is though. If I get into another shit pile of trouble because of this im done helping out anyone but myself." He took off after the vehicle sliding on the blades like they where skater, leaving a trail of sparks whenever they touched the street.

Leon couldn't help but think about his family. He was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he really wasn't paying attention to anything. He hardly even noticed what Ash had done in an attempt to clear out some of the infected. Leon, lost in thoughts and daydreams, or daynightmares as it seemed, was in another world. It wasn't until Ash shouted something that he came to his senses. "We're going to slow, we need something to get them off our backs!" he exclaimed, looking behind him. Right as he was about to look forwards again, he saw something. Something closing in on the group of infected, and fast. Leon had heard about a group of elites called 'The Vindicators', and some had been augmented with certain abilities. "Looks like we have a live one" he said, motioning for Ash to look back. "I think we should take 'em, it should be interesting enough. Plus, I need to get my hands dirty with some blood for what they did to my family".
And with that, Ash flipped a U-Turn and started driving towards the group of flesh thirsty infected.

It didn't take too long to catch up to the pack of infected. To him they were slow. He jumped into the middle of the pack. He put his hands ond the ground and spun, his legs fully extended, he kicked around in a circle killing several. He was getting tired, they didnt take much to kill but there sure was a lot of them. Ray got back on his feet and began slicing away at the creatures, every kick as deadly and accurate as the last.

Shade stopped. He looked back, about to start walking away, to find a way to end this plague. But something caught his eye, however; what looked like a car, trying to go a pathetic speed, attempting to get away from a group of Infected. It was a large group, and these people probably didnt have long to last. It was too far away from him to be able to save them, he felt bad for the souls in the car, not going to last long. He looked at the group and someone or something was catching up to the group. It was too far to tell what it was, but it must have been something that wasnt a normal infected. It went to the group, and he could faintly make out the thing distracting the infected, and was even more suprised by the car turning around. His eyebrows raised. 'What exactly was going on here?'

"It's now or never" said Leon, looking to Ash for some sort of verification that he was ready. But much to Leon's dismay, Ash was picking at his fro. Shaking his head, Ash came to a stop and they got out preparing for whatever would hit them. In this case, infected. Leon began smashing infected skulls in, mad with rage from the death of his family. One after another they went down, victim to his titanium pipe. Blind with fury, he wasn't able to notice that the other person fighting the infected was in fact, not one of the forsaken and attacked at him, knocking him off balance.

A sharp sting, sending a large echo down his back. Whatever hit him was no infected zombie. They couldn't hit that hard, at least, these ones couldn't. The shock tipped him off balance, his knee buckled and he fell. He put his hands on the ground and flipped back up. When he landed he performed a sweeping kick, and knocked several infected down. His other leg killed them. Ray stood up. His face was emotionless. His eyes glazed over with rage. He turned his head to the new guy. He looked stronger than Ray, taller more robust. He didn't care though Ray knew he posed no threat. He was holding a pipe in his hand. It was covered in blood. Ray made clear eye contact with the man. He then looked down to the pipe in his hands. Ray tilted his head down to look at his pants. They were soaked in blood, the moisture made his legs shine in the dim light. the blades attached to his feet, once a shimmering silver, now entirely red. Ray without tilting his head back up made eye contact with the man, and a sly and cynical grin made its way onto his face.

"The hell do you think you're doing?"

The man he had struck stood up and spoke, a sign that he wasn't an infected.
"The hell do you think you're doing?" said the man
"My utmost apologies, I had no idea...I couldn't see, I was just swinging blindly. I didn't think there would be another...human, out here. It's just my friend Ash and I"
Leon signaled the other way, and pointed towards Ash who has fighting off infected

"Alright, you might want to get in you'r car now. Not that you can't hold your own, it's just i would rather not accidentally kill you guys like i did the last people i was trying to help." Ray motioned for them to get into their vehicle. "I'm serious, what I'm about to do is dangerous. Get, In, Your, Car."

Ray turned away from the man, waving his hand, as if to say "You can go now.". Ray fought off a few Infected that jumped at him. He then crouched down, into a sprinter's starting position. He was waiting for them to get to safety.

For the first time in a long time, this had peaked Shade's interest. Three people, he could faintly count. And he had not the faintest idea of what they were doing. It looked like two of them had damn near stopped fighting the infected around them, so they could talk, or something. The other one, who was either really tan, or a really pale black, with hair like he had never seen, was still fighting, as aimlessly as ever, killing one after the other, albiet a bit slower than shade was used to. Then again, Shade specialized in killing these things. And he was very good at it, even IF he didnt like it. Those fools, fighting for no reason. No one will last, unless someone comes up with some kind of plan to fix this. There was no miracle "colony" where some "normal" people had made it, away from the infected. There may be groups of fools left, but no gathering of the masses to be spoken of. He couldnt help but grin, as he looked back at scene going on below, a ways away.

Barely able to keep them from nipping at his flesh, Ash fought back the infected with two large rocks he found outside the vehicle. They're wasn't very many of them, Ash was more in the back of the group, letting Leon take care of most of them, seeing as how he was a much bigger man than himself. Once he heard Leon call to him, he had just smash the last skull of the infected around him with his rock. Turning to see what was going on, he noticed Leon standing and talking to a strange looking man in a hood. Ash thought "What the hell is this guy, he's not an infected but he's for sure wasn't just another regular guy like them. And what the hell was he wearing a hood up jacket for? The explosions left most of the air HOT and humid, Aside from that, Ash walked up to them to see what the reason for this blood thirst in this mans eyes was for.

"This guy is telling us to get out of here, says what he's about to do is dangerous...I think he's full of himself" said Leon, looking towards Ash and then looking back to this hooded figure. Leon wasn't quite sure what to make of him, still full of anger towards the infected. "Whatever, if this kid thinks he can do it by himself then let him. We have things to do, c'mon Ash"
And with that, Leon and Ash got into the car and started to drive off

Ash began driving again, the sad slow speed of 55, the strange hooded man stayed back fighting the infected, and although Ash clearly noticed a blood thirst in his eyes, he saw something els. Something hard to explain, but it was as if this man only thirsted for blood because of a clear deep pain in his past. Ash could see the good in his eyes, otherwise he wouldn't have helped at all. He had a feeling they would not see the last of him back there, or others like him. He was clearly different, nobody, (not human at least) should be able to throw masses of infected like that. "How was he doing that? . . .Food for thought i guess" he said to himself as he examined the man he just saw. By now Ash was already calming down, relaxing, thinking about thier next move. Leon wanted to get his revenge and Ash was set on helping him. Thinking about what to do next, Ash's mind seemed to drift off, and a thought came to him, instead of just a blood thirst revenge on this thing we could at least try and solve this mystery as to why this happend. Ash pondered more on how they could go about this, and the only clear step to him, would be to investigate the explosions more. He would have to at least see the epicenter of the explosion to find any answers he could. It was not 100% that he would find any answers this way but it was the only step they had to choose from. Ash looked over at leon, his head against the window looking at the clouded sky, in his face was not what he expected there was no anger or sadness in his expresion. What was he thinking about?

"Think that guy will last back there? I mean, those Vindicators are pretty tough..." Leon asked Ash.
"I dunno man, but I have a feeling we're going to see him again for some reason" replied Ash.
Leon sat in the passenger seat and thought. It was the first time he had actually taken the time to go face to face with his thoughts. Before he had just acted on impulse, but he was calming down and it was time to start thinking. He leaned his head against the window, he could feel the cold chill of air on the other side, this made his cheeks cold. "I think you're right Ash, we can't just go smashing infected in one by one, that wont work because there is too many of them. We have to get to the Epicenter, but first we need some answers. We can't just go jumping into the fire like this and as a Detective you already know that. So where should we start? Maybe we can go to a nearby town and look for any survivors, maybe some Vindicators with some answers, they seem to be the closest thing we have to allies right now."

Shade was walking away from the rotted building. There were no infected nearby, and it was quiet. He walked in between skyscrapers, and shops, the wind from the open space getting caught In between buildings and whistling as it spiraled about. 'Ground zero.' thought shade. 'where it all started, and where it will all begone to end. If something was to be found about this plague, then it was there.' he walked slowly through the city, going straight to his velocycle. A small motorcycle of sorts, that is run on a propulsion system that was lost when the bombs fell, along with alot of other tech. People could run maintenance, and fix minor problems on them, but not much else. Therefor, there were a limited amount of these left, and somehow, shades benefactors had gotten ahold of one, allowing him to use it, as part of his payment for what he was doing. It was a ways away, and he slowly walked past everything that was falling apart, thinking of how he could end this.
