Full Name
Kilian Lutz
Description
Having been taught most everything there was to know about airships, he makes an excellent engineer. He is very pedantic when it comes to his duties, but he has no passion for the mechanical, as one would think any engineer does. He's just very good at understanding how they work, and he prefers dealing with them to dealing with people. The Wayfarer is a means to an end for him, a temporary stop on a journey with no destination.

Thanks to the sharp difference between his education and the life that followed, he possesses both book smarts and a physical build that would befit someone far more adventurously inclined. He is a little rusty on the terminology and pointless stuff like that, but he knows everything he should that actually matters: the what's, the how's, and the why's. He probably wouldn't be able to explain much of it, however.

Personality:
Kilian generally acts aloof. He is quite sarcastic, to the point where he comes off as constantly being pissy about something. He is not much for socializing, partly because of his limited social skills and partly because any conversation makes him slightly anxious. He feels least tense with small groups, where the majority wouldn't be too overwhelming, but where he would be spared the undesired intimacy of a private conversation or anything of the sort. He often says that he prefers to spend time by himself, yet he is rarely ever completely alone, as if just looking for opportunities to make verbal jabs at people.

All of that becomes irrelevant the moment his work comes into question, though. He isn't the type to earn any "employee of the month" awards - even if one were to disregard his standoffish demeanor - but he prides himself on taking his responsibilities seriously and he'd be damned before he let anyone or anything get in the way of doing a damn good job.

The reason he thinks and acts the way he does isn't difficult to guess should one know of his past, which may or may not be why he is never willing to talk about it. It is a topic where he keeps even the captain on a "need to know" basis.
Likes:
Honesty, simplicity, magic, machines, cats and birds
The color orange, not that this achieves anything
Dislikes:
Lies, complicated matters, hypocrisy, most people, dogs
Psychological Condition:
He constantly has an irritated look on his face, and anger seems to be something of a problem for him.

Chaotic Neutral

Although he was being trained to take over a trade company and not become a technician, his father strongly believed that understanding the inner workings of everything his livelihood depended on was paramount to success. Kilian did quite well in his studies about the machines, fairly well when it came to economy and rather poorly in regards to people. He had earnestly done his best, so he knows airships better than most engineers out there.

He hadn't learned nearly enough magic in his one year at the arcane school to become even reminiscent of a proper magi or anything, but he is more than capable of creating flashing lights and simple illusions. That said, it is not a skill he uses often, as it brings back painful memories.

After leaving his old life behind, it was the law of the jungle for him. He was a nobody and had nothing. He had to procure everything for his survival through his own abilities, and forced to break the law on countless occasions - there was no way a vagabond would be able to find a job or a place to live. It was during those long years that he had picked up some useful though questionable skills, as well as learned to defend himself.

Staying in town wasn't always an option when he had law enforcement after him, so he naturally picked up some survival skills. He is no ranger with formal training, but he knows how to keep himself alive for a bit in the wilderness, as well as things one should and shouldn't eat out there. Some of those he learned the hard way.

____________________

Kilian was born in a family of merchants that specialized in trade between islands. Their home and headquarters were in Soleire, a group of smaller islands floating so close together that they became a single nation. His life was more or less decided for him before he was even born - as a heir to their sizeable business, he would learn everything there was to learn about airships and trade and eventually take over.

He was a smart kid, but his interests lay elsewhere: in the realm of magic. Although reluctant at first, his parents eventually decided to admit him to the local school for wizards and such. Unfortunately, he was also a rather awkward kid. Somehow or other he managed to offend the school's owner, who was also a very influential political figure. To protect his family from being targeted, he had to denounce them and escape his home island. He had lived as a thief at first, eventually growing to larger crimes, and having to jump between islands several times to avoid capture by the local law enforcement.

His recruitement to the Wayfarer was almost accidental. He had stowed away in the engine room, and was caught performing maintenance because he was worried about the ship actually making it to the next island. He could use a place to stay, the captain could use an engineer - it was an obvious solution to a mutual problem.

Kilian made sure to give the captain as many disapproving glances as he could manage over the several days it took them to get to Paradiso. This was the one island he certainly didn't want to come back to, even more than those that put a bounty on his head. Dealing with law enforcement and bounty hunters was one thing. Dealing with straight up rotten criminals who pretended to have some sort of code was completely different. What sort of supplies were they hoping to get in this place anyway? There were none to be head. It was an island of pirates, nobody grew food or made anything here. Whatever was for sale in this place was either stolen from someone else or purchased elsewhere, meaning its quality and price were both sub-par. You couldn't even haggle properly with these savages, they'd just start resorting to threats.

He would much rather not land and instead wait with the ship, but of course, there was no way he could. He was the engineer, one of the two people - the other being the cook - who absolutely did have to go. Technically, the quartermaster could take care of provisions instead, but not spare parts and tools. The differences between some were so subtle that a layman would be certain they got the right thing and still be wrong - and that's not considering the fact the pirate "merchant" who would be selling these was probably just as ignorant of the finer details, or intent on fooling them. Robyn could be trusted with the task, but he would rather not. Oh, she was capable, but who was going to take her seriously? He certainly didn't at their first meeting, although she did act like a complete brat. But who was to say she wouldn't here? Careful consideration didn't seem to be one of her strong suits.

Except while he was busy picking out parts that didn't have signs of having started to rust and being cleaned off from the "wide assortment of premium" second-hand wares, the girl ran off somewhere. He would have preferred if she just stayed on the Wayfarer, perhaps did some basic maintenance, but he didn't go beyond suggesting it. She wasn't his subordinate for him to order around, and even if she had been, he suspected she would have simply disobeyed and gone anyway. That would have been even worse, because nobody would know she was on the island for a while. At least he knew that he was supposed to look for her.

"Hold on to these for now." He told the self-proclaimed mechanic come parts dealer. "I'll grab them on my way back, and you'll get the coin." He wasn't nearly stupid enough to pay for this stuff and then leave it lying around. But as he had to look for Robyn, he would rather not lug around some fifteen pounds of metal and oil. Especially since the trek back was going to be over rough terrain, because - for some reason - they couldn't just dock in the harbor like every sane person did.

"Gotta look out for you little girlfriend?"

"Sure do." Kilian just agreed, knowing there was no sense in speaking to people who made that kind of "hilarious" jokes. Where was he to start looking? The shanty town - which was the whole town - wasn't massive, but it was very crowded. The alleys were also a complete mess, winding ceaselessly and needlessly, often going into circles. This place was mostly built by people who knew nothing of architecture or urban planning, so paths formed around houses built seemingly at random. Perhaps there was some grand design to it all, but he couldn't see it. And speaking of seeing, there was no way he would find her just by looking around.

After being told to screw off in a variety of ways, he had finally run across a few people who weren't above answering if they had seen a young girl. Their instructions led him toward the port and also worried him greatly. Apparently, they did see a bronze-skinned girl run from a couple of men while clutching her arm. He didn't bother asking why they just watched it happen and instead made haste. He couldn't be certain it was Robyn, but then again, how many other kids would be running around Paradiso? None, he hoped for a number of reasons.

The commotion was not difficult to find. A chase on the streets wasn't a very rare occasion around the place, he assumed so anyway, but it was easy to tell where one passed. They left a pattern in a crowd that was all for such spectacles. When he came upon the scene, however, she was already caught. A big man was holding her arm while another approached with a weapon drawn, and the girl was bleeding. He instantly regretted having told the crew they could handle this on their own: he would really not mind having one of the more violence-inclined members around right now. Having one from the start might have prevented this mess from happening in the first place.

"What the...!"

"Sorry." Kilian apologized to a man who was previously sorting something inside a crate as he literally pulled a small stool from beneath him. He preferred tavern brawls: those places had plenty of furniture, dishes and cutlery to make use of. At least he found something; a crate or barrel were too unwieldy for him to use. He dashed forward and just smashed the poor wooden bit of furniture against the larger one's temple, causing the guy to collapse. Whether he was dead, knocked out or simply stunned, it was all good in his book. The other guy turned to the unexpected threat, but not before receiving a kick in his ribs and stumbling backwards from it.

"What a big man you are, picking on little girls." He mocked the surprisingly fancily dressed assailant as he quickly glanced around. Not the best place to be getting into a fight, especially for someone else.

"What's it to..."

"You look the type to be someone else's "little girl" every other night, so I guess you wanted to take it out on somebody?" Kilian interrupted him. The large guy grunted so he coldly stomped on his head again, trying to make sure he was out of the picture this time. That was when he noticed the dropped pistol.

"Fuck you!" The man with the cutlass charged forward, only to stop as he saw a gun's barrel pointing at his face. The engineer had only a few moments, but he noticed it was loaded. That was good, in case he would have to back up his bluff with action. As they said, don't bring a knife to a gunfight. Of course, Kilian had little idea how to use firearms, but even he wouldn't miss at this range.

"Screw off while you're in one piece." He said, lowering the gun to point at the guy's crotch instead. That seemed to have the desired effect, and the man backed away. Who knew for how long, though? He didn't seem to be friends with the one on the ground, but that didn't mean he had none around. They needed to leave, quickly. Glancing at Robyn, he removed his belt and tightened it around the wound on her arm. It wasn't perfect by any measure, but it was the best he had. After deliberating it for a couple of seconds, he scooped her up into his arms and started hastily walking away. They needed to get to the ship for her treatment.

Arc I--Day...uh...something.
Paradiso

As one could expect from a pirate haven, Paridiso was noisy, dirty, and pungent. Although Carina wanted an opportunity to take a walk and clear her mind, she had doubts she'd be able to do much of that in this place.

Over the past few days, she hadn't said much to anyone other than Seeleheiler, and that was just for her checkup. Thanks to the healer's expertise, Carina was in reasonably good shape again. Even so...maybe she shouldn't have kept hiding the cause of her condition from Seeleheiler? Something in her--maybe some foolish pride--just didn't want to discuss her problems, even to the healer of all people.

Besides, she had enough "problems" as far as the other crew members were concerned, didn't she? Even now, Carina didn't feel comfortable talking to anyone about her worries. They probably all saw her as foolish for wanting to go to Perodo and avoid having to deal with any of the resident pirates here, anyway. Well...okay, maybe Shenk wouldn't, but she had a hard time understanding his accent...and trying to ignore the thick scent of gunpowder and chemicals.

In any case, the only meaningful thing Carina could really remember saying to anyone other than Seeleheiler was volunteering herself to obtain water supplies for the journey, as they were running out of that as well. Originally, she had hoped to take a walk, but it seemed more appealing to just get the water and leave by now. But where were they selling water...?

After a few minutes of wandering--and ignoring men who were trying to court her--she did find a shop where they were selling casks of water. Obviously, one would be very difficult for Carina to carry all the way back to the ship, let alone enough for the journey. Maybe...she had to get help from Terask to do this? Using her power for this sort of thing definitely seemed like it'd attract unnecessary attention.

Taking out a small notebook from one of her pouches, Carina jotted down some notes on the location of the shop, looking around to make sure she had all details correct. Hopefully, there would be someone willing to lend a hand to her for thinking she could carry so many casks of water by herself.

Even so, she should probably try with one so there was something to show for her efforts. Stepping into the shop, Carina fished some coins out of her pocket--distressingly, it didn't look like she had much left at this point. Seems she had to learn to mind her spending in the next port...this wouldn't reflect very well on her if she had to ask the others for money, though. She probably had enough for three, four casks?

The shopkeeper looked up at her lazily. "Ya need twice that for one cask," he mumbled, as though he had just gotten out of bed.

"Twice?" Carina repeated in disbelief, feeling her face go pale. Great. She couldn't even get a reasonable amount of water for the ship like this. It was her own fault for not minding her spending more in the previous towns. Well...sacrifices had to be made for her crew, and she probably couldn't convince this shopkeeper to drop the price just for her--especially not by force, she didn't need to cause even more trouble for the crew. Reluctantly, Carina fished out some more coins and placed them on the counter, hoping she had enough for a second one on the second trip.

Grumbling something that sounded vaguely like gratitude, the shopkeeper sluggishly hauled himself up and lumbered to the back of the shop, picked up one of the casks, and brought it back, with barely any effort. As Carina took it from him, her eyes widened at how heavy it was--but she quickly reached out with her mind, lifting up the water inside into the air to reduce its weight. Immediately, a stinging pain dashed through her body, but she managed not to cry out as she hoisted the cask onto her shoulder.

Now, the shopkeeper cracked an eye open wide at her. "Lass, ain't that a bit heavy for a littl' girl like you to be carryin'?" he questioned, actually sounding somewhat concerned for once.

"O-of course. Don't worry, I'm stronger than I look." Carina flashed a smile at him, even though she was only half-telling the truth, and turned around to make the journey back to the Wayfarer with the water. Since she only really needed to think about the weight of the cask and not its contents, she could focus more clearly to remember her way back. The pain continued to run through her arms and legs, but she convinced herself to endure it at least until she got back. Hopefully, Seeleheiler wouldn't be too upset about having to look her over again.

However, as she kept walking, her eyes caught onto a familiar head with white hair. Oh, that was Lutz, wasn't it? But...wait, was he...bleeding? Wincing as her body protested from having to use her powers and walk faster, Carina quickened her pace so she could keep pace with him. "Lutz, is that you? What happened to--"

As she caught up with him, her eyes trailed down, and she gasped when she realized the one who was bleeding was not Lutz, but in fact his assistant, Janye. She was bleeding from her arm, and in tears, unlike her usual tough act. "...h-how did this happen?" Carina stammered, feeling her face pale. "Is she going to be okay?"

The days following the vote on their destination had been somewhat stifled as those with doubts about their chosen destination appeared a little more withdrawn, but overall the feeling the crew appeared to be good spirits. Well other than the slight malcontent among the crew caused by a faint singing which had seemed to echo above deck during the twilight hours recently. The source wasn’t quite apparent with the, presumed female voice filling the night’s air for a little while at varying times with old sounding songs they couldn’t quite place or fully comprehend the words.

Elric knew full well that despite his warnings that his granddaughter had continued her midnight strolls through the decks of the ship and had now also taken to filling her time in with song; and as much as the tunes often made him smile he knew it was unlikely to garner them any friends should she be discovered. As he made his way through below he thought back to the hold where he’d left her earlier and the argument over him going ashore with the crew and leaving her trapped. It had ended with him taking his supplies for trade and sealing the door behind him for all the good it clearly did to halt her exploration.

He turned sharply down towards the galley and mess, ducking his head to pass through several of the arched doorways of below. As he reached his destination he wondered if he’d have been better off checking elsewhere but nonetheless he thought this might be the best place to take it. He put down his large satchel of goods onto one of the benches in the mess and carefully withdrew a couple of jars, filled with a rich honey. He glanced around the room, trying to see if there was anyone else down here but not managing to do so.

”Jia, I thought you might have use for these. So thought I’d drop em off a’fore I head into town.” he called out waiting for a reply before lifting the honey to his eye and inspecting them to make sure they were two of the best he’d brought and gently placed them onto one of the benches their cook used to prepare meals in the galley.

He glanced around once more to see if their cook had appeared before shrugging and heading out and above deck, pulling his furs and leather overcoat a little tighter around him. As he strode across the deck he wasn't able to see the others and wondered if they'd already went on ahead or were still below. Regardless of their location he set off down the boarding plank to the ground unsheathing the axe from his back, which was more of a polearm especially given how he started to use it as a walking stick; planting the butt of the weapon against the ground in time with his footsteps. A moment or two later he heart the faint pad of something soft on wood before a light thud behind him signalled that Kaela had joined him as he ventured inland.

The Quartermaster had little worries about the supplies aboard but they’d always need more so he figured he might as well check the area for game as well before trying to see if civilisation has anything to offer. He spent much of the walk on the lookout for any tracks as well as setting up a few traps to check on his return trip but as time passed the ship grew smaller behind him and distance to the town grew smaller. However the thing which caught his eyes as he approached was not the town nor its inhabitants but rather the cluster of figures who seemed both equally familiar and somewhat distressed.

”What’s up with the wee lass?”

Bobbie kept her eyes closed as he was spun around, facing Giles she figured. She heard him huffing and puffing on the way forward. "You'll pay for that, cunt" He hissed and she just kept her eyes closed. He was going to take her arm, or at least try and went it didn't work, he was going to kill her. Damn it. She didn't want to die. She wasn't ready to die yet.
She squeezed her eyes as tight as she could against the pain on her arm, trying to hold back tears. Suddenly, there was a crash, and she was released, it caused Robyn to open her eyes. Once her vision cleared, she stood stunned to find that, one, the big man that had been shooting at her was the one to have found her. How that happened wasn't important, because two, he was down, and Killian was holding pieces of a broken stool.

He found her. Somehow, he found her in this mess of an island. He found her.
"What a big man you are, picking on little girls" He said and she would have cracked a smile if her arm wasn't in so much pain. Why couldn't he have shot the good arm? She held the wound closed, blood seeping through her gloved metallic fingers.

"What's it to..."

"You look the type to be someone else's "little girl" every other night, so I guess you wanted to take it out on somebody?"
Killian said and Robyn smirked but jumped when she heard the man that held her groan. Killian proceeded to stomp the man back into unconsciousness and continued with Giles. Her vision began to blur, and blackness dotted her vision. She wasn't sure what happened next but Giles was gone and Killian was facing her. She stood there looking at him, blinking, sniffing, huffing and shivering. It got mighty cold all of a sudden?

Killian removed his belt and for some reason, Robyn thought he was going to beat her for her folly. Hell, she deserved it, and at this point, she'd take the beating if it meant she didn’t have to deal with this place alone.

Instead of beating her, he kneeled and wrapped the belt around her arm. "I'm sorry." She managed quietly, and then suddenly, he scooped her up, and beat a hasty retreat. Robyn rested her head on his chest, sobbing quietly. She swore to herself she'd been less of a brat to him. He didn't have to save her, he could have left her to her fate and been rid of her for good.

"He was gonna take my arm." She whimpered to him. Killian was the only one to know about her arm so she knew she didn't have to go into detail. She was, however, going to explain how he knew about it in the first place but she was getting very sleepy all of a sudden, she could barely keep her eyes open and it was cold. This was a tropical place, why was it so cold.

"It's cold?" She murmured just before she heard a few familiar voices but her eyes long since closed and she didn't have the strentgh to open them.

"...h-how did this happen? Is she going to be okay?"
”What’s up with the wee lass?”

"why is it so cold?" She muttered before darkness took her.

"I bet you are, dumbass." He grumbled as she apologized. It was probably really mean of him to insult the girl, especially since she was seriously wounded, but she sort of deserved it. Robyn didn't technically need to apologize as she had done nothing to hurt or offend him. Rather, the only person she owed an apology was herself for getting into some mess within an hour of walking around the damn island. He warned her against the dangers of a real pirate den, nothing like their ship of misfits and lost souls, but he didn't want to order her around or keep her on a leash. But perhaps he should have, for her own good.

"Of course, now everybody and their grandma shows up. Not when they would have been useful." Kilian cursed in his mind, but said nothing. Well, perhaps they weren't completely useless at this point. Not Carina, their navigator who was somehow even smaller and skinnier than the orphan girl who had to work in a factory to not starve, and for whatever reason pulling along a large cask of water that probably weighed almost as much as herself. Why did she have that anyway? He sort of remembered her volunteering to get water for the trip ahead - he didn't usually pay much attention to what others did, as long as it didn't concern him - but surely she wouldn't have gone on her own when she was very obviously unfit for manual labor? Except, evidently, she did. Was she trying to prove something or just an idiot?

"Don't know." He gave a very short reply to her question, not wishing to lose his breathing rhythm. Robyn wasn't all that heavy, but he wasn't some musclehead and he needed to keep the pace. Why ask him anyway? He wasn't a doctor. He never pretended to be, either: basic first aid was all he knew. Luckily, the other person who showed up was potentially more useful, their resident bear-man. He was no longer young, but if he kept that shape at this age, that might not slow him down.
"She got hurt, perhaps badly." He answered straight to the point. "Think you could run her back to the doc?" He asked, feeling quite hopeful. He knew he'd be dead tired carrying the girl back if he just walked quickly, but to Elric, her weight might not mean anything. Even if he couldn't run as fast as Kilian - which was a pretty big 'if' actually - he looked like he'd be able to keep a better pace the whole way.

"She got hurt, perhaps badly." Kilian answered simply. "Think you could run her back to the doc?"

”I’ll see what’s I can dee, just got ta hope wor medic’s still aboard and not wen a wand’rin, eh?” He chuckled slightly, though there didn’t appear much mirth in his face as he sheathed the axe across his back and shifted his pack into a better position.

”hand’er here lad.” he muttered as he reached down to pick up the trembling bundle of rags and blood that passed for their cabin girl. ”Shaken’ like a leaf she is, you get em what did this? Or we having a hunt come dark?”

He pulled her close and nestled her against the crook of his right shoulder, holding her easily with one hand while he gestured towards their navigator. She seemed in good health herself however there was a strained look on her face accompanied by an ever increasing sheen of sweat on her brow. He moved over to where Kaela stood, her eyes scanning the sparse woodland for any interlopers on their gathering and rested his free hand against her side, running his fingers through her pelt as he growled something the other two missed.

”Mighty impressive, tricks of the mind an all but take it easy.” He smiled warmly as he reached out and hefted the barrel from where it hovered and tucked it under his left arm. ”Kaela’ll take you both back I reckon, keep us in good time. If you're coming.“ He nodded towards the immense dire wolf, who stretched and looked impassively back at her would-be riders.

With that the old clansman started to make his way back towards the cave where they’d docked earlier that morning easily keeping pace with his wolf once she caught up, though by the time they arrived he was beginning to flag while she was peeling ahead almost tauntingly slow as if to show off.

As they return the sun already hung high above suggesting that noon was fast approaching and with it their expecting meeting with the captain.

Arc I, Paradiso

Not surprised at having been brushed off for the most part, Carina stood by as Lutz entrusted Jayne to the care of Mahal, the quartermaster, who just happened to run into them as they started to leave the city. And luckily, he had his pet wolf as well, so he probably could make it back very quickly. Although, this presumed Seeleheiler was still on the ship, and Carina knew the healer walked into town with the rest of them...

However, she didn't expect Mahal, who was still carrying Jayne in one arm, to stride over to her and try to take the cask of water from her shoulder. Carina shook her head quickly and insisted, "N-no, it's fine, I can mana--"

”Mighty impressive, tricks of the mind an all but take it easy.” With those simple words, Mahal flashed her a warm smile, but all Carina could do was stare at him with shock. How...what...? Did he know about her magic? As far as she could remember, she hadn't used it in the presence of the crew, or really anyone in general, until the incident with the sky serpents. How did Mahal know she was using magic?...okay, maybe her less than impressive physique gave it away, but that was hardly the point.

Even so, Carina's mind reeled so much from Mahal's remark that the barrel remained suspended in the air for a split second, refusing to budge, before letting its new courier accept it. She wondered if she should insist on taking it herself so he wouldn't have to put up with the strain of carrying the incapacitated cabin girl and a casket of water at the same time, but...she did feel kind of lightheaded right now...and for his part, Mahal seemed to not mind the extra load. In fact, he even told her to ride back to the ship on his wolf...wait, was that really okay? Shouldn't she hurry back to the meeting place?

Okay...maybe just a few seconds to sit down and recompose herself would be okay. Relenting, Carina carefully seated herself on the back of Kaela, hoping her mount wasn't holding a grudge for the time Carina first ran into her, panicked because there was a wolf that huge on the ship without her knowing, and tried to shoot her on the spot. Ultimately, Mahal let it slide--otherwise, why would he take the water for her?--but that didn't necessarily mean Kaela did.

In any case, Carina spent the ride in silence, letting her gaze wander to the scenery around them, but not sparing a glance at the other crew members. The pain was ebbing as they neared the cave where the Wayfarer was docked, but not quickly enough for her liking.

By the endless abyss, was everybody on the Wayfarer unbearably stupid, borderline insane, or both? Forget the navigator with her idiotic questions, a load that clearly threatened to make her keel over and pointless worry when she could do nothing to help. Why was the quartermaster wasting precious time, making completely irrelevant comments that anyone with half a brain would already assume anyway? And what could possibly matter less than the prospect of payback when their companion was quite possibly slowly dying right in their arms? His tongue itched to ask whether they were crazy or merely cared nothing for the girl as they proceeded to argue over a casket of what seemed to be water. Goddamn water for fuck sake, that you could gather from raindrops if you really needed to. Though what else could he expect when the one criteria the captain seemed to hire them on was "their eyes", apparently? Probably how little rational thought he could see in there. Then again, maybe he was looking for the best crew he could find - except his own perception was so far from anything sane the result was the same.

"Forget. This. Crap." Kilian practically hissed, finding it very hard to hold himself back. The only thing keeping him on track was exactly the reason he was pissed: concern for Robyn's continued well-being, and how it didn't seem to bother the two crew members he ran into. But that didn't matter. He could fight them, verbally or otherwise, later. He could wonder where the heck Elric managed to find a huge wolf like that and where it had been hiding on the ship later. He could ponder on the "tricks of the mind" the large man mentioned, but once again, later. Right now the priority was getting the girl patched up, and that meant getting her to the one person he knew who was qualified to do so. Regardless of said person's character, which also left a lot to be desired.

"The fuck is wrong with you!" He couldn't help his anger as the quartermaster made some kind of show of how easily he could lift both the large container and the girl, and then offered his "companions" a ride back on the animal. He wouldn't mind under different circumstances, but this was all wasting precious time on menial things that didn't have any urgency. "Just go already!" He growled. Both Carina and her stupid cargo were needless weight that would only slow them down, but he didn't care, just as long as they started doing something that actually mattered. Which was getting the girl to a doctor. He was about to slap the wolf like one would a horse - probably a bad idea if he thought about it - when they finally started moving.

Well, at least they were going faster than he could have, he calmed himself as he watched them rush down the street, scaring pretty much everyone around, and then disappear behind a corner. He let out a sigh of relief and started making his way back to the mechanics shop where this whole mess started for him. He had done what he could in this small crisys, now he just needed to carry on with his usual job. Which was making sure the Wayfarer didn't fall apart mid-air and they didn't all die as a result. Oh yeah, and there was that thing that the captain wanted everyone to be present for, but Kilian wasn't about to rush for it. If it was something violent, he'd rather stay out of it, if it wasn't, he'd still rather not get involved regardless since his voice would just be drowned out by the majority of halfwits on the ship. You know, all those people who voted for Paradiso because they would fit right in, the several crew members who didn't be damned. Admittedly, it was par for the course. The captain tried to keep some pretense of nobility and honor, but they were pirates, and they cared about one another as much as any two pirates did: none. Worse yet, they seemed to fill Robyn's head with some idiotic drivel that almost got her killed. Her perception of pirates and herself had been skewed from the start, but surely not enough to pick such an unfair fight. The ship was a horrible environment for any child who actually hoped to reach adulthood.

He shook his head and walked back toward the ship, the spare parts he purchased earlier in a large sack behind his back. Hopefully, Eire was having a look at Robyn's arm by now and fixing it up. And speaking of fixing up, he might have to deal with her other arm again a bit later. Not that he minded, but... he sighed. Regardless of anything else, he needed to stop letting his temper get the best of him. It was helpful in certain situations, but detrimental in most others.
