Introduction
Everything You Need to Know:
Before we start: EVERY SINGLE WOLF AND WOLF-PERSON MUST HAVE A GREEK NAME. For example, the dominant female is named Basilia, and the dominant male is named Zarek. (For the record, Zarek is a wolf-person and Basilia is a wolf.)
1) Areas
-Main Cave: It’s something of a “hangout” for females and upper-class males from the Noble pack (it’s in their territory) during the day. Pups are normally never brought here because the males like to wrestle and fight over food. The wolves of this pack can feed and socialize here. It’s technically a rock room in the side of a cliff. The top of the cliff is flat.
If you look off the edge, you can see the waterfall flowing from right to left, and an inclined trail leading up to the Main Cave, past the entrance, and all the way up to the top of the cliff. If you turn opposite the edge, the ground fades from rock to soil to grass, then to a high-grass meadow. Once you step foot on the grass, about one hundred feet from the edge of the cliff, you’re in Survivor Territory. There are normally only a few wolves up here from the Noble pack, unless Noble males want to feed on stray deer. The deer live in the meadows of Survivor Territory, but occasionally wander away from there in search of water.
Only Noble pack members are allowed into the Main Cave, unless they have dominants from other packs visiting. There are four tunnels in it, and each leads back to a huge room, where you have to squeeze through a rock “slip” at the end. The tunnels themselves are wide open.
-The Four Tunnels:
*Tunnel One: It’s the sleeping place of the dominant female and her mate. The female will spend most of her time here while raising pups, but when she is not, she is, for the most part, outside. When nursing, she may leave to eat, but upon request or as a romantic gesture, the male will bring her food and lay down/sit with her and the pups. This is also where the dominant pair mates.
*Tunnel Two: This tunnel leads farthest back and has a slight downhill slope, making it the coldest tunnel. Because of this, it is used for food storage. Poor families or the injured may come here during the day to eat, but the food is not fresh. (It’s pretty much leftovers, but it still makes a decent meal.) Upper-class males also eat from here if they do not wish to hunt. (As a side note, middle-class males have to hunt for themselves and their family, if they have one, unless they’re injured.)
There is always a high stock of food, so there’s never any worry of starvation in the pack. There is never a time when an upper-class male is NOT standing outside of this tunnel, in order to stop thieves when the storage is off-limits. If the wolves eat too often, they could get sick, and then hungry wolves would starve. So they have “breaks”, when wolves may not enter.
*Tunnel Three: This tunnel is short and leads to an average-sized room. This room is used for mating rituals, where pairs are formed between two members of the pack. It’s also used for a breeding room, though the only time two may mate in here is when it is the pair’s first time.
Basically, a bond is formed for life between two pack members, and they may not leave until the female is found pregnant. The pair will be fed and given water, but they have to begin a family before they are allowed to leave.
*Tunnel Four: This tunnel is the meeting room for various topics, mostly for choosing a new dominant for the pack. It’s extremely important to choose a right-minded pack member, because if a wolf is chosen and they don’t have good morals and actions, it would throw the pack into chaos and end the Nobles’ existence.
-Waterfall:
It is a landmark just outside the Main Cave. To be specific, if you leave the Main Cave and follow the slope to the ground, then start walking towards the waterfall, you’d arrive at the thirty foot wide stream about forty feet away.
The waterfall is small, about fifteen feet high, but it’s about twenty feet wide. It is the main source of fish and hygiene for the pack. The current isn’t fast moving, and the bottom is flat and made mostly of rock with thin layers of sand on top. It’s deepest in the middle, about five to six feet deep, and shallowest at the edge, where it’s about five to six inches deep. At the edge, you can walk in about three feet before it starts sloping down. The water in it is perfectly clear, you can see the bottom, and it’s a natural blue-green.
2) Wolf Packs: Wolves are born into each pack, and have characteristics native to their pack. Each pack is named for how each lives and acts.
-Survivors: They have very little, but are very family-based and strong-willed. The Survivors are usually very calm, but will fight if provoked. These wolves are brown or tan.
-Warriors: They are named for their hostility, and how they like to torture their prey before killing it. In this pack, there are always wounds to be tended to, and there is blood everywhere. They live like a pack of blood-thirsty hyenas. These wovles are black or dark gray.
-Nobles: The Nobles live high and mighty, and every noble family is surrounded by middle-class wolves. These wolves are smokey/light gray or white.
3) Rules of Mates/Mating
-Wolf-People: Years ago, humans thrived in the wolves’ realm. Then, rumors of wolves murdering humans spread, and the humans began to kill the wolves out of fear.
While the humans were there, they had adapted to mating, and that’s how the wolf-people came to be. Half wolf, half human. They look exactly like people, but have wolf tails and ears. The wolf-people wear bear fur because it is similar to a wolf’s, and they can wear it without killing their own kind.
The wolf-people are important to each pack because they can do things that regular wolves can’t, but even so, are considered family, not slaves.
In order to stop the wolf-people from dying out and to stop them from becoming too human, a wolf may only mate with a wolf-person. If a wolf is female, she will bare 2-4 pups. If a wolf-person is a female, she will bare 2-4 wolf-children. (Since they are part wolf, they are able to bare more offspring than a regular human, and very rarely will a wolf or wolf-person bare 5 babies.)
-Pertaining to All: “Teenage” pack members normally mate before they are paired to someone, but if the female ends up pregnant, her offspring will be given to an experienced mother of the same type (wolf, wolf-mother). The offspring will grow up thinking the surrogate is their mother, and the birth mother will not be given her babies or allowed to interfere with their raising at any time. The Nobles believe it is irresponsible to bare offspring outside of pairing.
4) Customs (Rules of feeding, dominance, etc)
-Dominance: Dominance is not decided by fighting, for that could engage and promote violence throughout the pack.
-Feeding: Females and pups get to eat first in a family, then the adult males. In order to eat another family’s food, you must be invited, otherwise it is considered theft. If you steal food, you will be starved for up to a week, depending on how much you stole and consumed, and if you confessed.
5) Reasons of War: Dead in the middle of the realm, there is unclaimed land. The Warriors are aggressive and mate constantly, so they’re territory is crowded. The Survivors believe they should get the land because this piece of land has many animals in it, and they’re constantly worrying about food. The Nobles believe they should get the land for their own reasons, and have answers to the other packs’ claims:
*The Nobles have the least amount of land, and when they split into three packs, they initially agreed to even the amount of land claimed.
*The Warriors should stop breeding as much and make it a sacred thing, not doing it for enjoyment and the torture of females. They brought their overcrowding on themselves.
*The Survivors have adapted to their constant food shortage, and easily gain weight from small amounts of food. They don’t need more land.
6) Physical Characteristics (If you missed it.)
-Nobles: They are smokey/light gray or white in color.
-Warriors: They are black or dark gray in color.
-Survivors: They are brown or tan in color.
7) The Human
-His Role: A human man is requested by the dominant male of the Nobles, secretly, to the upper males of the pack. Not even the dominant female knows about this until the males leave to get the man. The dominant female and her mate help one another decide whether he will become food, a slave, or to help breed. Eventually, he will help end the war and become part of the pack. How this happens, is up to you.
As far as retrieving the man goes, during the half moon, its light is reflected from the stream of the waterfall directly in front of the Main Cave. This opens a portal, and if it’s entered, the other end is directly over a lake in a New York City park. The wolves’ realm’s time is twenty minutes faster than the human world’s, so you have to wait until the moon is over the lake in order to go back. There is thirty seconds to travel to and from each world.
Other notes: These will be added whenever a thought comes to mind, so please check back once in a while!
-These wolves have adapted to longer lives. Wolves and wolf-people both live between 60 and 70 years.
-The wolves celebrate on The Night of the Full Moon, and throughout the realm you can hear howls.
-The current dominants choose the next wolf in power, but who he or she chooses as a mate is totally up to them as long as it doesn’t effect their decisions. If a pair throws the pack into chaos, they will be “evicted” from power.
-Only dominants know of secrets in the pack, or at least that’s what they think, including knowledge of the water portal.
Rules
-If your character is a mother, she needs to have 2-4 pups, because that is the litter size, and a mate. Females cannot have pups outside of pairings, and if they do, their pups will be taken from them.
-Other basic rules you should already know.
-Side note: I do not normally use the OOC thread, so tell me if you posted there.
-When you make a pack member, make sure in the SYPNOSIS you specify which pack you're in.
-The 3 packs are specific things. I know I sound..well, like a female canine, but MAKE THESE CAPITALIZED. I could not stress this anymore if I wrote it on the back of your eyelid.
EX- Wrong: noble pack
Right: Noble pack
-Before you hit "Submit" to respond to this RP, make sure you select the pack you're from in the dropdown bar, the one where you'd normally choose your location.
-The human male that enters the Wolves' Realm must be modern, I don't care about the ethnicity/race. He just has to be built, not skinny like most skater boys you see, even if they are strong. No, I'm not against skaters. His first name will be either Alec, Jace (The Greek name meaning "the healer", but I prefer if you spell it "Jayce."), or Zeth.

Acacia turned her head to look at her torso, which was still the same size it always was. Were there little Ambroses and little Acacias living in there? Were they growing, soon to be born as fighters and hunters to the world? As much as Acacia wanted to embrace motherhood, she hoped she wasn't pregnant. That would only mean her little ones would be taken from her, and she couldn't so much as watch them grow up. Unless the slim chance she was accepted into Ambrose's pack became a reality...

She felt a chill fly through her as she stepped into the stream's cool water, the light current barely able to move the fur of her paw. Basilia gets a good feeling before running the 3 feet of flat water ahead, then diving in as the underwater ground begins to slope.

Checking around him to make sure there wasn't any danger, Zarek went over the side of the waterfall to join his mate, having no fear.

But, before she could so much as enter the mouth of the cave, she was stopped by one of her litter mates. "Are you sure you should do that while Mother is out?" he asked.
Acacia bared her teeth and lunged at her sibling with a loud snarl. She pinned his struggling form to the ground and sneered into his ear, "Do NOT tell me what to do. Mind your own business." Raising her head to the rest of the pack, she bared her teeth again and pressed her ears flat against her head. "I was lying down the entire time Basilia was gone. GOT IT?"
Though there were growls and moans of protest, no one got up to stop Acacia. Drawing her lips down, she went into the cave, growling a warning until she went into the first tunnel.
Once there, she went over to Damon and Alena, and smiled at them. They were adorable. "Hey, little ones," she said, nuzzling the two of them. They let out little chirps of happiness.

"ACACIA." An angry mother wolf appeared through the rock slip, snarling at her daughter. "What gives you the right? I'm going to have to put guards around this place, too!" She stared at her immature, adolescent pup. "Get away from my pups, NOW." Basilia immediately started towards Acacia, preparing to fight with her to show her who's the dominant one here. Basilia normally didn't enjoy fighting, especially with her babies, but when it came to the younger ones...
OOC Notes
IC: Acacia rolled her eyes as she quickly stood up and clashed with her own mother. She was a frenzy of teeth and claws, and she knew it. The excitement of fighting was the last reason why she did it so often, but it was still an enjoyable reason.
Getting smacked against a wall, Acacia lunged for Basilia again, determined not to lose to her other parent.

Banishing was always a secret, but not to the "suspect" and the dominants deciding on it. Life is so much harder in the human world, that when a pack member misbehaves enough, they keep them in solitude until the night of the Half Moon, where they toss the wolf into the underwater portal. Basilia has threatened this for years, just to scare her young daughter, but now she is old enough to pair. She means it now. Even before the threat of war, other packs' dominants have brought dangerous or troublesome wolves here to send into the portal.
OOC: PACK, JILLIAN, PACK! XD
OOC Notes
IC: The younger wolf rolled her eyes once more. "You and Dad will end up banishing me no matter what. You can't protect me forever..." She rolled on to her back, Basilia still over her, into a submissive position. "Trust me..." Acacia looked over at Alena and Damon. "And I wasn't trying to hurt them. I only wanted to visit my little brother and sister."

IC: Acacia couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for her mother. The entire pack was affected by little Kadar's death, even if half of them weren't even related to the dominant pair. "I know...But still! I think it would be blatantly obvious if I were sick, and I'm not an idiot. I'd stay as far away from the Main Cave as possible if I were sick." She thought of Ambrose, and their secret place in his territory.

Re: [OOC] The Wolf's Den
Since this RP is based in the Noble Territory, and you wish to be a member of a separate pack, I would suggest you make a wolf from the Noble pack, too. I will also be posting new settings: The Survivor Territory and the Warrior Territory. Wolves of these packs can RP here together, but keep in mind everyone can still see your posts.
