Introduction

The Wild Hunt is an ancient folk myth prevalent across Northern, Western and Central Europe. The fundamental premise in all instances is the same: a phantasmal group of huntsmen with the accoutrements of hunting, horses, hounds, etc., in mad pursuit across the skies or along the ground, or just above it.

Silures- A country of mists, moors, mountains, and ancient forests where the ancient and the modern mingle in relative comfort and ease. Castles once inhabited by the fierce native inhabitants stand empty, mere tourists attractions as a scant few kilometres down the road cities with all the modern comforts of life thrive in the form of gleaming skyscrapers and paved streets.

Roughly 160,000 square kilometres Silures is geographically speaking split into two distinct terrain areas, a mountainous region to the north composed of ancient forests and the occasional moorland. To the south lies rolling farm land and untamed moorland. Surrounding the main bulk of Silures is numerous islands, some just barely within the limits of Silures coastal water .

The main export of Silures have always been the high quality ore the northern highlands hold with their mountains. So pure is this ore it is jokingly said Silurian ore does not need to be smelted. Other major exports include high quality lumber from it's ancient forests, the results of a careful and selective logging industry. Recent oil exploration in coastal waters have shown promising results, with major oil companies petitioning the Silurian government for exploitation rights.

Minor exports of Silures include seafood and to a lesser extent various crops such as barely and oats. An even more minor export is traditionally made alcoholic beverages.

Politically speaking Silures is spilt into four provinces.Rodecia to the south-west, home to an abundance of neolithic to Iron age settlements. Consider an archaeologist's dream Rodecia is home to many prominent universities and colleges who often use the many ancient settlements as a practical way to teach their students field work. To the south east we have Ordovice, the industrial heart of Silures, home to the majority of the factories. Ordovice is mostly famous not for their many well made products but for their air quality control methods. Through a patented method of extraction and dilution the air, water, and land is kept clear of the pollution created by the factories. To the north east we have Deceangli, considered the high class section of Silures. Deceangli is where the rich build their homes, you better have a six figure salary if you dream of living here. To the north west we have Carvetii, the mining province were digging holes in the mountains is the name of the game.

In this world of technology, magic and being of folklore stir in the deep forestland of Rodecia, as a new national park is created. For the first time in nearly three hundred years, humans, in noticeable numbers, walk along lands inhabited by the Fey. Ruled by the Forest King and his three High Lords, the faeries, goblins, brownies, trolls and all manner of other magical creatures watch and wait, as Midsummer's eve approaches. Messages race through the shadows, heralding the news among the three Fey courts, the King as called the Wyld Hunt!

Location

The Heart of Primal Rodecia, is a newly created national park, located within northwestern corner of the province of Rodecia, containing 2,300,000 acres of; forest, streams, ponds, meadows, marshlands, fields and a portion of the Gray Hills, a mountain range running along the northern border of the park. A good number of Human settlements have existed within the boundaries of the park, from neolithic times until almost three hundred years ago, when most were abandoned when those living there moved to the cities.

The park’s head quarters are going to be located in a recent clearing caused by a fire started by a lightning strike, almost thirty miles within the confines of the park, bordered on the west and east by a small river and a stream, respectfully. A thin trail has been cut to the clearing but efforts to widen it into a road have progressed slowly, to prevent damage to nearby trees. Filling the clear currently are a large number of tents, fire places and the beginning of several foundations.

Humans

For the most part, nearly all the humans in the park are collage student, from different collages around Silures. They are hereto do service projects (make trails, build shelters or cabins, restore dark age villages, ect) to help get the park ready, either to get back into collage, volunteers or as a team building exorcises for new students.

The Fey Courts

Shadow Court
A realm bound in the old magic of Faerie kind, a realm kept pure of the corruption of humanity. But only by the wits of it's inhabitants, the Dubh Sidhe, or Dark Faeries, for neither sword nor magic are their weapons. Capable of both they are instead a people of subtly and seduction, preying on the confusion such things imbue. They are a constantly shifting people, with no two of them the same in appearance or even personality. Then again neither do they limit themselves to one form, so much so that there is a saying that goes as follows. ' The knowledge of a Dark Faerie's true form is known only to themselves'.

Black is their color, in form and personality. Ravens men were wont to call them, for that was the form they took when amongst the world of men. And this duality is expressed in their very ways, for a Raven is many things to many people. Poets have labelled them monsters, Vikings worshipped them as messengers of Odin, and some think them omens of war. A Dubh Sidhe is all that and more.

In the End though the Shadow Court is like all of fey kind on the decline, their fate has yet to be seen. Though their ruler is seen with a often enigmatic gaze, the look of a warrior surveying some impossible battle.

The High Court
also known as the Day Court

Under Serra, the court is divided into four aspects, reflecting the seasons, whose powers wax and wane with the cycle of the year.
A place of perfect order and rigid social structure, a place where you can be stripped of title and standing for failing to greet a peer in the appropriate fashion, and words have taken the place of weapons. Courtiers who displease him have their power sealed as punishment, finding themselves with less skill, less grace, less intrinsic ability to manipulate the world. The opposite is of course true, and those who act in a graceful manner, in a way that suits the courts current style, are granted boons.

Even amongst the rulers of the fae, the only one that The Lord of the High court treats with any semblance of respect is the Erlking, the King of the Forest.

Time not spent in political intrigue is taken by rigid, codified leisure time. Hunting, courtly games, poetry contests, plays, and other highly stylised forms of play. Each steward has the right of challenge, to take the position of Lord from the one who holds it, but there has been no challenge for over one thousand years. Indeed, the court has been relatively static, consuming itself more and more with the day to day minutiea. Instead, each member of the court will pick an excellence. A focus that they dedicate themselves to mastery of, whether that be a physical act or a subject more metaphysical, such as 'honour.'

Serra's excellence is truth. Whilst the span of 'immortal truth' may seem an irrational focus for a court of faeries, knowing the exact truth of a thing gives you power over it, and makes it far easier to deceive those who do not share your knowledge. Concurrently, through knowing themselves, the day courtiers glamour is proportionally stronger than those of the other courts.

Like all sun court nobles, he speaks the high tongue, though at a far higher level than most. The high tongue, or true tongue, is rarely spoken freely, since when it is spoken those words are set in stone, and have the power to shape the weave. Knowing a things true name gives you power over it, and the high tongue will allow you to affects its kismet, its fate. Knowing a persons true name allows you to compulse them. Humans would call it sorcery. Magic.

Like all domains of the fey, the High courts influence over the real is slowly waning with the growing strength of men. Perhaps unlike the others, this does not worry the Day. The wheel of fate will turn despite their efforts, and the rise of man cannot continue for ever.

Unseelie Court
also known as The Twilight Court and the Dark Dance

”We are the Bloodrinkers, the Soulstealers, Dreamstalkers, Darkhunters. Many names we possess, all spoken with dread on the lips of those who yet cling to the Old Ways.”

Death and decadence cling to the Twilight Court; perversion and corruption drip from it like honeyed mead. Jaded opulence stuns the senses; glittering nobles engage in wild revelry. Most never see that the gaiety is forced, the laughter just a shade too sharp for true mirth, the resigned desperation hiding behind every movement, every glance.

Most of the Court favors the same dark jewel tones as their Lady, heavily accessorizing as she does in gold and precious stones. Irridihwe is an elitist snob, favoring Sidhe for positions of nobility at Court over other races. She loves to surround herself with those she finds beautiful, though her definition of what is beautiful often does not fall in line with traditional concepts of beauty. Only those among the monster races who truly distinguish themselves ever earn the right to participate in the Dark Dance. Ironically, these races make up the majority of her people, but they often live as second class citizens.

(Note: Drinking blood is a cultural fetish among the Unseelie, favored, traditional, at times even ritualistically required, but not imperative for life. Unseelie are not vampires.)

Magic: Illusion, Shadow, Concealment, Dreamstalking

Weaknesses:Iron, water, magic dispelled by light, the strong willed who know they are being enchanted may occasionally break a spell's hold on them

Fey Rules

General
Applies to all Fey

1. Iron
Iron is the major weakness for the Fey. Lesser fey will die if someone lands a killing blow with a tool of iron, lesser fey lords will be banished to their homes for a decade and the great fey lords get the same bit for only for one year. Tools made from iron alloys however do not have the same effect and will at most cause a Fey pain or drive them away. Iron may also be used to dispel fey magic (anything touched with iron reveals its true form, etc) or create barriers to stop them crossing thresholds or the like.

2.Rowan
The wood of the Rowen tree has many protective properties and can be used against the Fey. While it cannot kill them, a staff of Rowen can hurt them or if the wood is made into a charm, it can be used to ward them off. The fruit can be used to make the Fey sick.

3. Technology
Whenever the Fey are present, modern tech like cellphones and engines, tends to fail.

Wyld Hunt Rules

1. Buildings
The Fey lords (lesser and great) are not able to enter the dwellings of men without permission from the occupants, However, the lesser Fey are not bound by this rule

2. Water
All Fey, save for those that dwell in water, cannot cross running water, save for special spots with stone markers. These markers can be destroyed with iron but it has to be pure iron.

3. Killing
Only the fey lords being allowed to "kill"l humans, lesser fey may trap, grab or herd humans but they can't kill them.

4. The Sun
The hunt last all midsummer's night, from the second the sun slips under the horizon to the moment it peeks over the horizon.

5. Death
When the sun rises, any human "killed" during the hunt comes back to life and has to spend a years as a personal servant to the Fey Lord (or lady) who "killed" them. For the most part anyways, there are a few Fey who do truly kill their prey. Any human left in the woods, alive, by sun up is found by the Forest King and is awarded a crown of leaves and a bag of gold.

Rules

1. I am the GM and what I say goes
2. My Co-GMs, wakeangel, Harlequin Smile, Derek Smith and Kohananinja, have the same power
3. Most of the characters you create should be human, we might accept a lesser Fey Lord or Lady
4. Have fun and enjoy crafting a story with us.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

just one question so maybe i can post and get this moving again. where is Jack in relation to the camp... more specifically would some one with say enhanced hearing be able to here the short scream if they where in the camp.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

Right them. Like I said, I sent a PM to the Darklord and I know he read it within 24 hours of it being sent. There's been no answer, so I'm technically godmodding by forcing his hand, but it's either that or we sit here all day doing nothing.

If this is an issue for anyone, get back to me and I'll see what I can do.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

thank you, thank you, thank you.... im glade to see some people return to the game *jumps for joy*

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

Okay. This is good. People are still around. Ninja, I'ma sent a PM to the Darklord, see what's doing with him. If he's still around, then I think I'll wait on his post to respond to yours. If not, I'll have something up in the next couple days.

Lets get this thing rollin' again!

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

First of all, I'd like to apologize for my inactivity for the better part of the last two months. Between getting ready for college, moving in, meeting new people, looking for a new job, gaining new responsibilities, and most obviously my school work load, my spare time and muse have escaped me.

Secondly, now that I’ve settled in a bit, and gotten a handle on my first round of papers and projects, I'd like to get back in the saddle a bit. I just posted, and I think I can realistically commit to at least 1 post a week if I force time into my schedule for a couple of the games. This one is very much one I'd like to write in again if anyone else is still willing to write here.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

HELLOOOOOO!!!!!!!......... *weep* no ones home i guess .... and now im talking to myself in this big open space waiting to be filled with ideas and scenarios full of fantasy and ready to be used to create a world for those to chose to escape the world through their ability to read and write.... :( but apparently i've been left alone in the emptiness.... now what shall i fill it with.... ... ... ... i've got it..... Pirates ninjas and robots battleing to the death over a comic feild of stars space ships and black holes..... oh yea.... and a giant sign saying "the game"

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

alright i posted a while ago but im not seeing any activity... anyone out there... :(

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

Permission granted. If cady returns I'll work with her on a re-entry point.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

while in that case I would ask that if no response is made by the end of the weekend (which I wont be around for) that I be allowed to play god out of the fog so at least I might post and move on in the story... and maybe draw some people back while i'm at it.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

This pleaseth me, Chosen. I consent to wreak havoc upon thy planes of existence.

I know that Harlequin is still here, and I would assume that Wolf is, too. I really couldn't say for sure about anyone else.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

thank you angel it's nice to see anyone else is keeping an eye on things with me. also reminds me, can i use your character as a god of my RP world, i'm finally getting around to it cosmology and i like your character for the lady of darkness.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

I know I'm not the angel you're looking for, but i'm still here, vasa. Don't want this to end either.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

just hoping for an update, i am now set up in School and have been waiting to see a response. i need the other angel to post before i can as i am lost in her mist. i am really hoping this doesn't die

please guys

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

Sweet. Good luck you two!

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

Both Cady and I are moving into college in the next week and we are both very busy packing and stuff at the moment. I am certain she will post as soon as she can though. :)

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

I'm glad to hear you gentlemen are still here. Vasa, when I get a chance, I'll see if I can get a hold of Cady elsewhere to let her know you're waiting.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

I've been waiting for Ninja Ninja. If there's nothing by the end of the weekend I'm going to post anyway.

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

im waiting for a post from cady and im starting school next week... school shouldn't interfere to much though :)

Re: [OOC] The Wyld Hunt

Are we just facing delays because of school starting or are we dying here?
