Description

Niklas stands at 5'5'' above the ground, and weighs considerably less than average for someone of his height. He prefers to be unnoticeable, and wears very neutral colours - preferably brown and grey. His clothing his often ragged, as he spends all of his sober time outside, searching for food and other things valuable for further survival. He is 22, but looks slightly older, with dark rings around his light, green, eyes, his hair in a constant mess of dark brown. He is not very good at shaving, which is why he has clearly visible sideburns, a short beard, and a slight moustache.

Personality

advantages

*Photographic Memory - Niklas remembers everything he has ever read, seen or heard, though if asked he would never admit this to be an advantage.

*High Pain Threshold - After living with an almost constant headache, and surviving through everything that's happened, Niklas has grown quite resistant to pain. Not in a super-power kind of way, more that he wouldn't instantly faint if someone shot him in the leg.

*Lightning Calculator - The photographic memory helps this one. Niklas is good at doing math in his head, though only to a certain degree, of course.

*Honest Face - Most people find his generic expression to be quite pitiable, something that in most cases also makes him a quite believable liar.

disadvantages

*Odious Personal Habits; Bad Temper - He really isn't a super-nice guy. Niklas might easily lose his temper, and though he's normally the kin of guy that would rather try to talk his way out of a situation, this might sometimes lead to heavy stuttering, a threat or four and his face going red. Most of the time he's simply a non-caring, blunt and irritated ass. Unless he's drunk. Then he's a blunt, non-caring irritated drunk.

*Addiction: Smoking, Alcoholism - When life, fate, whomever, takes everything away from you, would you be the kind to give up.. Or the kind to fight back for all that is right? Niklas chose the first alternative. Whenever he can lay his hands on anything including alcohol or nicotine, one better not stand between him and his goal or he might.. Uh.. Scratch you really bad. Yeah, take that.

*Chronic Pain - He blames the Photographical Memory and nobody cared to correct him. A constant headache dulls his senses slightly, though not to an extremely painful degree, unless the situation is more stressful than he cares to handle.

*Combat Paralysis - He's got a hard time standing up for himself, which is why he does his best to keep friends with the dangerous ones and run from those he knows he can escape from. If given the alternative between fighting and rescuing his own life by running away, he'll choose the latter.

*Cowardice - It's all in his mouth, if you know what I mean.

*Insomniac (Nightmares) - That pretty much explains itself, I think. The poor man doesn't sleep much.

*Phantom voices - It's never more than whisper, he can never understand what they're trying to say to him. He only knows that it sounds like they're begging for something.. He has yet to find out what. (this is caused by insanity, not actual ghosts.)

*Skinny - This helps the part where he has to run, though it doesn't exactly help his stamina, nor strength if he ever should get into a fight.

Equipment

Niklas carries a gun, though he has no idea what sort of gun it is. He knows how to load it, pull the trigger and (hopefully) hit the target, and that's all he needs. Other than this he always carries at least one box of cigarettes, two canteens of different alcoholic beverages and a small bag of useful trinkets that he gathers during the day.

History

Niklas was never quite comfortable in the presence of other people, which is why there's very little to tell about his past. He mostly kept to himself, staying in his room and painting. He was never any good at school, but managed to keep adequate grades. When the time came for him to move out, he got himself a small apartment and lived on what little he could make from selling his pictures. He was never anyone special, and never expected to be either.
