Is this the one? Perhaps I will find what I am searching for here?
The dragon pondered before hopping off the cliff face. Several rocks loosed by his movement tumbled down the cliffside as the crimson-winged creature fell faster and faster. The clouds soared up toward him and he closed his eyes as he entered, opening them as he broke through the clouds with white trails of puffiness following his descent. After a few more moments, he spread his wings wide, and the leathery appendages caught wind under them, causing his descent to slow. He then flapped once and curled his body to flatten his descent and turn it into horizontal gliding. Like a bird of prey the dragon floated wistfully above the small village below while the humans went about their business.
What am I even looking for...?

The floor was dirt and it was always cold and damp, her bare feet loved the dirt ground however, because it made her feel free like she was outside with everyone else.
she was only allowed outside when her master or mistress sent her off on an errand, and most of the time they didn't trust her anyway.
She wriggled her toes looking at how dirty they were.
Azreal sighed and picked up the pile of rags she needed to wash, another long day of work infront of her.

As the Dragon neared the village, he slowed down, using his wings like brakes. Flapping harder now that speed was no longer on his side, the dragon set down on the earth as softly as possible, which still managed to shake a few animals and force them to scatter for fear of their lives. Dha'Verd huffed, and let loose a ball of flame that dissipated in front of his face before turning to face the village. He was just on the outskirts, and behind a small hill. No doubt he had been spotted, but that was just as well because it wasn't his intention to remain stealthy. He just hoped the humans weren't as stupid as the last village. Kiruchan village, just over the mountain range that Dha'Verd had finished crossing last night, was now smouldering ruins and ash after the residents attempted to capture, skin, and kill the crimson dragon. He didn't mean to cause the destruction he had, but while fighting for his life, he lost his temper and ended up destroying the entire lot of them.
Now he moved slowly on all fours toward this new village. He didn't know it's name yet, or what the residents were like, but that was half the fun. All he knew was that whatever part of him was missing, he could only hope to find it here, that, or more disappointment. The guards gathered on the walls as the Dragon approached and he let out a low screech before speaking,
"Humans! Fear not, for I come without intent to harm! I am merely searching for something and wish to peruse your village for the off-chance that it may be here!" He finished and kept a wary distance between the village walls and himself. If he had to, he could hop into the air and quickly escape, but he was still close enough to carry a shouting conversation.
The dragon sat down on his hindquarters, tail curling around him a bit while he awaited a reply.

A sudden flashback to when her mother was alive, she had remembered her mother showing Azreal her birthmark, right on her left ankle Azreal had what looked like a dragon tattooed into her skin, but it had been there since she was born. Azreal looked down at her bare legs, her ankle, the birthmark and then back up the the creature.
Wht was it all about?

Khaven lifted his head slightly and looked at the nearby village of Tarlucath. It was a village with promise. Khaven wouldn't mind watching it blossom into a city but that would take years maybe even decades.
"Kahahahaha," laughed Khaven as he won another hand at the game called Verku. It was a simple enough game for most humans and that is why he chose it. The men grunted and laughed and claimed Khaven had been cheating. "Don't be such a sore loser," he chuckled. He handed half the money back to them men. "Don't need you getting in to trouble, it wouldn't bode too well if you lost all your money to me." The villagers of Tarlucath all knew about Khaven and that he was prankster as well as being a notorious gambler, but he had his soft sides where he would actually let the people win some extra money. Of course no one knew he let them win. He was too good and his 'ability' made it impossible for any of them to know.
Khaven was now alone and growing bored and restless, so he simply looked at a nearby mountain and with a single thought he was gone and all that was in his place was a small pebble.
_______
The top of the mountain had good view of other villages further in the distance. Khaven looked across the great space as if it was nothing. Dragon's eyes were far superior to any other creatures. The other villages new about Khaven as well, or at least heard about him and believed he was simply a rumour or a flat out lie. Those brave enough to go visit usually didn't return to their old village mainly because they grew attached to the village of Tarlucath. That was one of the reasons he stayed. The people were extremely kind, and he thought he could help boost the visitors.
There were others though that sought to take his head but their skills were no match for his 'ability' and all left terrified at how weak they actually were. None have been injured but they lost their weapons, gear, and were left with only enough gold for a decent lodging at Tarlucath. The villigers were kind and understanding to these would-be dragon slayers and they showed them great hospitality, so great that the men that had just left Khaven were all former would-be slayers.
In the far distance Khaven saw the village of Kiruchan. His gaze lifted towards the even further mountains as the scent of ash and smoke was brought on the wind. Khaven spread his wings and gently glided down the mountain side into the new valley towards Kiruchan and then began to pump in wings lifting him higher and higher until he turned slightly and headed towards the smell of smoke. "Hmmm, Let us see what this could be." he said with an amused tone.
OOC Notes
------------------------------------
Back at Kiruchan, the smoldering remains of the village were charred and wasted, there were burned bodies in the streets, most of them armored. A trail of refugees, the civilians and children, and elderly that the dragon had no quarrel with were escaping to the East to the forest town of Hillsjur. They would speak of the Crimson Dragon who came to them asking to find something, when the guards accidentally loosed arrows at him. He flew into a fury and destroyed their entire town guard in a matter of minutes, reducing their small town to ash and leaving the civilians and elderly to fend for themselves.

around the reptile, being very careful she didn't get noticed.
She got close enough to see his scales.
Suddenly she felt to urge to move closer, she stepped
through the group and starred at the dragon. As her eyes met
his she felt a rush of energy, she suddenly felt cold and clammy.
"hello" Azreal spoke to the reptile, but it was a compulsion, she had no idea why
she did try to speak to the animal. what a strange thing to do.

"I don't like to be crowded." He grumbled and the villagers edged backward. All except one female. The Dragon's eyes fell upon her and he knew there was something off. Not a connection of sorts, but that she belongs to someone he should know. The dragon stood on all fours and bent low to put his snout near her. He slowly drew in a breath, her scent filling his nostrils. she smelled... Different, but not quite the familiarity he expected. His hopes plummeted when he realised she was not the one, but he decided to confront her anyway,
"What is your name, young one?" He asked, his maw hanging open for a moment before twin streams of flame streaked passed and around her body while he breathed out heavily through his snout. His tail moved back and forth slowly while his wings remained tucked to his sides. He didn't notice the humans that were moving around behind him, for the moment he was intent on the female.

Watching from the perspective of a brick on a building, he saw a gathering crowd of men and women alike, even the smithy, much to his displeasure. He better have a good reason to place his own needs instead of Galzra's. It was then he saw it, a blood red dragon, standing amidst the crowd. He seemed to be smaller than Galzra, though it was hard to tell from this perspective. What was this young dragon doing? Trying to mark this village as his own? If that was so, he better change his mind soon or he would be getting an unpleasent suprise from above. His eyes, well his mind, caught note of a young girl, at least, he figured she was young relative to some other humans he had seen, calling up to the dragon. What a strange creature humans were, warning the beasts that they seemed to detest. Maybe she didn't want to anger this newcomer, but in any case, before Galzra swooped down, he wanted to watch to see what exactly this dragon was doing. And besides, he had a few hours before his hunt, and it was better than taking stock of his tribute gold again.

Will soared through the air, his large, magnificent wings were stretched out widely as he glided high in the sky. A flicker of flame and a column of rising smoke caught his keen eye. The shadow dragon swooped down across the plains until he reached the destroyed village. His wicked claws dug into the ground as he landed. Empty, he thought as he looked around at the charred figures laying immobile in the ashen dirt. Suddenly, movement caught his eye, and the dragon turned his head towards the sight of a woman in tattered, slightly burnt rags. She whimpered softly and got on her knees, looking up at the dark dragon, who's glowing crimson eyes beat down upon her mind like hands to a drum.
"P-please, lord." She said quietly,
"We didn't mean to attack you....please have mercy on us."
Will grunted audibly in disgust. The human was too stupid to know the difference between what a fire or red dragon does to a village, and what a much rarer shadow dragon like himself would do. The woman fell over on the ground, clutching her head and sobbing as his voice penetrated her mind. What little hope or will she had left was shattered instantly from the psychic energies that drifted through her conscious now like a venomous cloud.
"You are but a foolish human, not worthy of my pity. You, and whoever is left, will be dead."
His mouth never moved, the words punching into her head. Shadow dragons had a much more powerful psionic range than most other dragon breeds, even something as simple as mental communication had adverse effects on the human mind and soul. The woman cried loudly and pulled at her head as the pain filled her essence. Her mind was already on the edge of breaking, his mind stabbing into hers finally pushed her off that edge. The normal human would either feel a light pain in their head, or at the very least a bit of discomfort, where as any other dragon wouldn't be able to feel the difference. Will flapped his wings and took to the skies once more.
He sailed above the destroyed village and breathed in deeply. He could feel his fire breath mix with his shadow essence, churning into a living flame of sorts. Finally, he exhaled, and a large cloud of shadow fire descended down upon the village. It engulfed everything little by little, slowly making its way to move across the village. All survivors died in agonizing pain as the living flame covered them and constantly gave their nerves the feeling of intense heat, then cold, then heat again while their flesh charred and bubbled away. The homes were reduced to ash and the metal on the fallen guards became melted slag. Just as the flame had descended, it rose back up and re-entered its master's waiting jaws. The dragon felt his energy slowly begin to recharge itself. Such annihilations of villages always left him in a rather tired, but craving mood. Will roared loudly, he still felt empty, he needed blood. The relatively young shadow dragon sniffed the air, catching the crimson dragon's scent, and casually rode off on the wind towards the direction.
OOC Notes
"Why would you attack that which affords you no harm?" he inquired, waiting for the gasping man to speak. Already the smell of the man defecating himself rose to the crimson dragon's nostrils, and he cringed from it, but allowed the man no refuge from the pressure. The man breathed heavily for a short while but afforded no answer, simply staring at the dragon with wide, scared eyes. The young Dragon released the pressure as he noticed the guards moving closer,
"I thought so." he said at last and opened his wings wide. He roared and flapped them downward, sending dirt flying about as he leapt into the air. A few villagers fell to the ground, and the guards retreated somewhat from the circle. As the villagers dispersed Dha'Verda moved backward and landed a few meters away on all fours, low to the ground. His White underbelly scraped along the dirt as he turned,
"Now you are about to make me angry." He growled,
"I want nothing from you but to search for something that is lost to me..." he said and then added,
"And to speak to that girl. Alone." As an after thought, indicating Azrael with his snout. The villagers parted from her, probably assuming he was going to eat the young woman. He didn't much care what they thought, it was in his interest to speak to certain people, it didn't matter what anyone thought.
OOC Notes
"do you know why i feel like this" she said and unconsciously
lifted her ragged dress to expose the birthmark on her ankle.
She looked around at the crowd and what would normally
scare her to death she ignored the villagers.
SHe moved closer to the dragon a compulsion to touch his scaly skin.
why was no body dragging her back? were they scared?
She was not scared, not anymore.
OOC Notes
what in the world..? she wondered watching the fire die down after a little.
she stopped pitching hay but the hay she had been about to throw into the pile for the horses fell right on top of her head and her old clothes, at the moment she had on her work clothes.. old brown pants with a few holes in the knees, a wight short sleeved shirt now covered in hay..shaking out her long brown hair she rushed back to the house to clean up..after she got cleaned up her put her hair back changed her shirt into a kind of homemade wight tank top and ran into the town to see what was going on..oh the higher side of her arm there was a birthmark of a dragon..she never thought much of it and she did not mind it being out in the open like it was at this very moment.
OOC Notes
'Am I not the only one with this problem? Perhaps there are others of my kind whom seek these... People?'
"Azrael." He spoke the name quietly, then sat upright,
"I know not why you feel what you feel, but perhaps you can be of use to me. I am looking for something. You seem... Different from these others, like I should help you find something. Or someone." He added as an afterthought once more. He was indecisive and confused, and he hated feeling that way. He sat on his hind quarters as his tail wrapped around his claws, slowly swaying in the dirt, swishing it around. Glancing back at the crowd of humans who were still huddled, but had given him distance after his short outburst, he glanced through the crowd,
"I know it's here, it has to be... I've been following it forever, and now it stop here... This yearning... This compulsion to find that which completes me." Thinking aloud the Dragon bent down to inspect the tattoo,
'It resembles a dragon... Perhaps she is linked to us somehow? Why are things so uncertain lately?'
He let out a low breath and peered at the crowd again. It was stupid, he knew, but his gut told him that what he was looking for was there. It was only after a few minutes that he spotted someone who seemed, different. Different like Azrael was, but in a more familiar sense. He felt like he should go to this person, the female with brown hair and a tank top. Slowly he stood onto all fours and moved over toward her. Stopping suddenly, he turned his head back,
"Follow, I feel you can learn something from what I am bound to discover here." he said, turning back around as his eyes locked onto the farm girl. As the Crimson Dragon neared the crowd, they parted slowly and he stopped in front of the female, his head lowering to peer at her and take in her scent,
"I know you..." He said quietly,
"Where do I know you?" he asked at last, face inches from the female, his eyes falling upon the dragon mark on her upper arm,
"You bear the mark she does." He said, turning his head to indicate Azrael,
"Are you related?"
OOC Notes
Stretching his powerful wings, feeling each muscle tense up in anticipation of the ride ahead, Galzra took in one last breath of the cool mountain air. Then, getting a running start, he took off at a remarkable rate, his altitude rapidly decending. He was no longer using focus, for it was difficult to fly when he knew not when he was going, not to mention it took a considerable amount of energy to be a seer. The deep blue dragon strained his eyes to try and locate the village from this high up, but the cloud cover was to thick. All the easier to make his approach.
Besides, it wasn't as if he was protecting the humans, per say, just that he was protecting his interests. If there was no village, there was no laborers. No laborers, no tribute. No tribute, well, he would have to go back to plunderin villages himself, like this Crimson Dragon here seemed to be doing. In any case, he better get there soon, and with that thought, he streamlined his wings to increase his rate of descent.
OOC Notes
A small wagon filled with goods stopped behind the fallen dragon, its drivers, an elderly man and woman, stepped out and approached the fallen lord.
"Well I'll be...I haven't seen a dragon since I was just a lad...thought they had all died out." The man said quietly.
Will growled in irritation and suddenly got up, swerving his head around to the couple,
"Where is it?!?!?" The shadow beast blurted out suddenly. The words didn't match his thoughts, so very odd....
The couple staggered backwards a bit, the man finally stuttering out,
"W-where is what, lord dragon?"
Will shook his head a bit, as if he was tired and trying to wake up.
"I....I don't know!" Will hissed, his irritation growing from the sudden spike of confusion. He had been on this planet for almost two millennia now, and he had never felt like this before. Ever. The human presence in front of him wasn't helping his agitation.
Then, the man did something idiotic. He moved forward and stroked the top of Will's long snout. This action made Will's anger flare like Greek fire, his crimson eyes suddenly glowing much more brightly in fury.
No one was close enough to hear the couple's screams or the sound of their flesh being rended by fangs and claws.

______
Seeing the human starting to follow the red dragon Khaven decided to go a little lower at the person who was foolish or brave enough for such an act. "Whoa, she touched it" he said with a open mouthed grin, but the lack of torn flesh that usually followed was what surprised Khaven the most. With a thought Khaven was no longer there and in his place was a small pebble which began to fall.
___
Khaven walked towards the village but he was on the opposite side from where the red dragon was. Khaven pulled out a coin. " I wonder if he'll be friendly," he said as he flipped the coin. He caught it and looked at it. "Pity," he said with a wide grin as he walked ever closer dropping pebbles as he walked.

Emma glanced at the other girl and nodded no still trying to find the right words to say but when Emma did talk it came out in a low and dry whisper, " Do I know you from somewhere..? " she asked looking up at the Dragon yeah..that was most likely a dumb thing to ask..he did just ask the same thing.. emma spoted another Dragon.
Emma blinked staring at both Dragons..it was clear the Red dragon had not seen the other she she thought she would point him out..really..she pointed at him.
OOC Notes
"Another Dragon...?" He breathed quietly. Since birth, he had never met another of his kind. Here came this copper-scaled dragon with bags of trinkets, dropping stones. Dha'Verda was breathless for a moment before looking back down at the small girls, well small in comparison to him. He looked at the other Dragon and shook his head, 'What a day this is turning out to be...' He thought to himself and lowered his head near the female,
"It's clear there is... You are... I have been searching for some time. And I feel whatever, or rather whoever so it seems, has been found." He said to her so that only those close by could hear. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do now that he had found what he was looking for, but a sense of calm, peace came over him and the Crimson-scaled Dragon seemed content for once. He grinned, showing his toothy maw, and realized this was probably a scary-looking gesture, so he stopped and looked back at the other dragon,
"what is your name, girl? I am called Dha'Verda." He asked Emma while staring down the Copper Dragon,
"I tell you this because I feel our fates are more entertwined than either of us could imagine." He looked back down at her and then at the villagers and the village before bringing his gaze to fall on her,
"But I also feel we may be in danger if we linger any longer." he lowered his head once more and sniffed at her,
"I know I have never met you, and yet I feel like I have met you in another time. We must find somewhere to reconcile this... Development." His eyes went to the Copper Dragon and his head followed,
"First we must see what this is..."

"Emma. I have never met another of my kind, but if the stories are true, you should stay behind me. And keep that other girl, Azrael, alive. She is connected to use somehow, but not in the way we seem to be. She is searching for another, and another for her. I feel compelled to assist her."
He spoke directly to her so nobody else could intercept them while he turned to face the incoming dragon, expecting violence. He took care as to where he was positioned so he could easily intercept the dragon if he went after the two females, but at the same time if the Dragon went for him, he could safely fall back and draw the fight away from the females and the village.
Dha'Verda roared a question over the village,
"You! You are... A Dragon? Like me? Yes?" he called to the copper-scaled reptile.
OOC Notes
He noticed many of the villagers were uncomfortable at this point, to say the least. Some were running to their houses to barricade themselves within, while other's left the village all together. A few stayed behind, curious as to see what they would do. Many of them recognized Galzra, but they were mostly the aged villagers, for he had not come down here for a few generations. Why bother, so long as the pay their dues.
He had arrived just in time as to hear the crimson dragon make the remark to the bronze one. "I believe he is, as am I, oh short sighted one." he spoke aloud to the one who had asked the question. He must be quite dense, to not recognize his own kind. Maybe he was an ignorant youth.
OOC Notes
"Now now, no need to be afraid of me," he paused. "Well to be honest it would be smarter to be careful and maybe take cover, not from me but as a general rule of thumb when facing a dragon." he stated with a finger in the air as if he was lecturing to them.
"Oh ho!" he started as the shadow dragon had finally made its appearance. "What a day it is. I finally have someone smart enough to play some more interesting card games with."
Khaven looked at the girls and reached into one of his satchels and pulled out a deck of cards and shuffled them quite skillfully with the tips of his talons. "Wanna see a trick girlies?" he asked curiously if they would actually come close enough to an unknown dragon. Though of course it looks like they already did with the crimson one. He yawned mentally due to the fact that things were predictable.
"Saw your work red one," he said as he stared in the direction of the burned village. "Quite a statement, but you should be more wary. you give the rest of us a bad name." he said teasingly. "But don't you worry I'll will spread a rumor that they attacked you without a word of kindness and threatened to skin you alive. Just so you know we should be a bit more careful when it comes to being destructive, it tends to bring trouble to us and anyone we might be fond of..." Khaven said as his eyes trailed to the two girls behind the crimson dragon.
"Why are you shadow dragon? " Khaven asked
OOC Notes
"Well to be honest it would be smarter to be careful and maybe take cover, not from me but as a general rule of thumb when facing a dragon." He said to the females, and Dha'Verda agreed, looking down at the two,
"Go, take her to cover. Stay low, and safe." The Crimson Dragon spoke to Emma in her mind directly. He wasn't sure if he'd listen, and fully expected her not to, but he tried anyway.
Dha'Verda turned his head, taking his eyes off the Copper dragon for only a moment as the Icey dragon landed behind him. Suddenly he felt surrounded and turned to put the two dragons on either side of him while not moving away from the girls. His eyes flicked over the blue one as he taunted Dha'Verda,
"I believe he is, as am I, oh short sighted one." He curled his teeth back at the Blue dragon's comment,
"Looks can be deceiving. Or have you not met the humans who call themselves Dragon Disciples? Taking our form, but not truly being Dragon? Call me prudent, but I prefer to remain cautious." He retorted, trying to turn the tables on who was short sighted. His temper was rising quickly, but the close proximity to his rider, without his knowledge of it, held him together and kept it under control. He looked back to the Copper one as it spoke,
"Saw your work red one," said the copper Dragon as he stared in the direction of the burned village. "Quite a statement, but you should be more wary. you give the rest of us a bad name." he said teasingly. "But don't you worry I'll will spread a rumor that they attacked you without a word of kindness and threatened to skin you alive. Just so you know we should be a bit more careful when it comes to being destructive, it tends to bring trouble to us and anyone we might be fond of..." This caused Dha'Verda to growl and lower himself in a more aggressive stance,
"Then you would be telling but the truth, and not a fabrication of your mind." He said through his gritted maw. He was attacked first, and his response was only self defense,
"Besides, I only killed those who attempted to do me harm, none others. The rest were free to go." He explained.
Then, as another thought, his head faced the Ice Dragon, deciding to keep closer watch on him than the copper one.

Oh, btw, question for Emma or generally anyone who can answer it:
So, from what I understand, as a rider you have a choice of choosing to have another player as your dragon, and roleplay it all out in finding them, or you can have an NPC dragon of sorts? Is it the same for us dragons in choosing our riders?
Re: [OOC] To the land of the Dragons A story to be told
