Introduction

It is modern day Tokyo meaning no samurai nor swords are needed anymore but people still claim to be samurai, especially some students at Bunkyo high in the Bunkyo-ku district of Tokyo. They even have a club where new recruits have to swear that they are loyal to the emperor and have to help their comrade in case they need help. Many people ask themselves why these wannabe samurai exist and why they ignore a law that prohibits the public carrying of weapons. The students often take out criminals in the area and believe they are the defenders of the public. But the police is not too happy because some of the criminals end up badly injured or dead. The mystery is that those who end up dead mostly had guns on them and it was proven that they shot at their attackers. One time the police even found a bullet that was probably cut in half in mid air. Well each of the "samurai" at Bunkyo high has developed special swordfighting powers. But now its the students are going to end up in a clan war after killing the son of a Yakuza boss.

Bunkyo High - Bunkyo High is a high school in the Bunkyo-ku district of Tokyo. About 1000 students attend here. There is something special about the school and its the so called samurai club in the schools dojo. Most of the students think it might be just some kind of cosplay club where wierd acting students run around with wooden swords but as soon as a fight starts on the school grounds, the students know its not for show and that the samurai have real weapons. Many students start to panic at the sight of the violence. But now back to the school.
Bunkyo high is a three floor building with 35 normal classrooms, 5 chemistry rooms, 3 art room, a music room, a gym, a dojo, a cafe and a sports track.

Samurai club - The samurai club is a group of student who claim to be samurai. Many underestimate them calling them just big mouths but they are in reality quite dangerous, well most of them. Somehow for the new year, all of them were put into the same class and their classroom is something the school built as an enhancement to the dojo. Reasons for this were: 1. Avoid conflicts between students and avoid harm to defenseless students. 2. To keep the samurai club as far away from the school as possible. and 3. To reduce strees for the school faculty. Now the samurai club is also a class called 2-F although for their over average grades they school rather be 2-A or 2-B, they are not liked by the school council and school principle, they have gotten a teacher who is at least as strange as they are and they are in big trouble with the Yakuza. But who knows, the Yakuza might be no match for them since they have special powers in swordfighting.

Shingo had left his little apartment and started on his way to Bunkyo High. His attire appeared to be the standard school uniform but it was accompanied by a white and red fox mask placed over his face.

Shingo felt little shame and cared not for others opinions. He was wondering how many other Samurais would show up today.

"Well as long as at least one is cute, I suppose it is worth going to."

He entered teh school grounds and made his way to the dojo to see if anything was happening there.

Midori was already there, practicing on a wooden dummy. She was completely ingrosed in her training, oblivious to all else. She had barely been to Bunkyo High for a week, and already she was third from the top of the Samurai club. Not something you would expect from a freshman, let alone a girl. Her red kimono matched her hair almost perfectly. It was that same red attire and hair that had earned her her first nickname, the "Crimson Wind". Barely seventeen and Midori had killed plenty. However, she had always made a point of not talking about her past. She knew full well that it would only bring her dishonor if the other Samurai knew what she had done before comming to Bunkyo High. Her left eye socket pained sharply as she practiced, reminding her of her sins. That eye missing had been the cause of her learning to fight with her eyes closed, earning her a second nickname, the "Blind Demon". Her movements were swift and sharp as she all but danced around the dummy, the song Red Fraction by Mell sounding in her head, matching her movements.

Shingo heard that someone was inside the dojo and used his ability to cancel the sound of the door opening and stepped inside.

"New girl?" Shingo said softly. He figured so because most newcomers train real hard in the early mornings to make themselves look good. Though she did look very good. He watched her movements and was fairly impressed but there was one possible flaw in it all. Shingo slipped a small throwing dagger out from his sleeve. With a quick flick he sent it flying in the girls direction. It wouldn't hit her, that wasn't the purpose. The point was to see if she was aware of her surroundings and to see if she was good enough to not get spooked by it.

Shingo was a new student as well, transfered here due to family circumstances but he had missed the first week of school due to the paperwork and unpacking. He always believed in making impressions. Good or bad. Friends and enemies were all the same. It only mattered if the samurai was strong

As the blade went flying towards the wooden dummy Shingo reflected on how much he lowered his skills so that he wouldn't end up killing anyone. After all ninety-nine percent of his techniques were used for assassinations.

With a light rustle within his coat Shingo checked to make sure all his poisoned weapons were in there respective places.

It was a warm morning and it seemed to be peaceful in and around the shrine. Sayuka woke up and immediately went to the statue of the rotting Izanami-no-Kami. She prayed there for a couple minutes. It was mostly about having her blessing and having a good time during school. The shrine she lived in had an entrance in the front and at the entrance there was a door which led to the statue. Through another door in that room it led to Sayukas sleeping quarters and Sayukas living/dining room. After praying Sayuka went to her dining room to eat some rice for breakfast. She then took her 7 foot long Odashi to train with it some behind the shrine. She set up a block of wood and stood a couple paces away from it. "Sonic boom", she said and swung the blade. A strong gust of wind blew past the block of wood and the the wood splitted into five pieces. She then went to the block of wood which wasnt all the way apart and flung it up into the air. She then took three horizontal blows at it and it fell apart in mid air.
On her way back to the shrine, Sayuka heard voices. She went to the front to notice two yakuza conversing. "What kind of place its this? Some kind of death cult?" One said. Then the other replied: "Dunno but here is a sign. Please treat the shrine with honor and respect. If you damage or desecrate it, then you will be beheaded. Hahaha. This person must be joking!" "I am not joking." Sayuka said stepping out in front of them. "If you dont stand to Izanami-no-Kami, then leave." The men stood there and laughed. One said: "Listen girl. We dont believe you are strong enough for a yakuza." "Yakuza eh? One of your friends came by yesterday and ignored the sign. Now look at him." Sayuka said and held up a mans head. The head had a face of horror on it. "You bitch!" One of the guys said pulling his gun on. Before he knew it, Sayuka had sliced through the gun and pinned the man to a tree through his abdomen with her sword. "Sorry but if you mess with me then you will die. But now how about the kiss of a shinigami." Sayuka said and got closer to the man. The other man stood there in shock and dropped his gun. Sayuka went to the dying man and opened her mouth, the man saw sharp teeth and a long tongue. Sayuku seemed to kiss him but in reality was sucking his soul out. The mans eyes turned white and Sayuka took more distance so that the other man could clearly see her sucking the soul out which seemed to be a luminous white gas like matter. When Sayuka was done the man saw how Sayuka quickly pulled her sword out of the dead man and sliced off the corpses head before the body could collapse. Then Sayuka turned to the other yakuza and the man ran away in fear. "Silent slash." Sayuka said and swung her blade. The wind went past the fleeing man. He didnt seem harmed but his pants had fallen down. The man screaming in embarassment ran away hearing Sayuka giggle and laugh.
After getting rid of the corpse and putting the head in a special yakuza head pot. Sayuka headed towards the school. The dojo was only two minutes away from her shrine. Her white kimono barely had a blood stain but she had forgotten to wipe the bit of blood off of her cheek and still didnt notice it. Sayuka got to the dojo and noticed Midori practicing and Shingo throwing a knife at Midori. "Idiot!" Sayuka said knocking Shingo over the head. "You shouldnt do that. Its not like you are training with her." Then Sayukas serious face turned friendly and she said: "Okay?"

It was a warm morning and Kaede was woken by the sound of people talkingin the park below her. "people are so inconsiderate thesedays i mean you cant even have a lay in anymore" Kaede said jumping down from the tree she had slept in. As she walked towards the fountain in the middle of the park Kaede could hear peoples whispers about her saying things like,"she one of those samurai club wierdos" and "i hear they call her the wooden blade". it didnt take long to reach the fountain where Kaede started to wash her face with the water. "Hey your her arent you your the wooden blade, well i'm here to challenge you to a battle" said a voice from behind her but kaede ignored it and continued to wash. "hey whore i'm talkig to you i said i challenge you to battle" the voice said. this time kaede turned around and said "I ignored you the first time to give you the chance to change your mind and walk away so now bring it on" kaede said picking up her wooden sword that was on the fountain at the side of her and holding with no real stance and the tip resting on the floor. "you stand like that and your supposed to be one of the top sword fighters in town, dont make me laugh" the guy said and statrting an assult with his own wooden sword.

kaede dodges every single blow the guy tried "devine wind techniqe 3 tempest" she said swinging her sword upwards completely missing the guy. as the blade was moved up there was a sudden rush of powerful wind that forced the guy into the air and cut into the guys bare arms and he then hit the floor. "if you ever tell the copsi did this i'll kill you and the same goes if you ever take up arms against me again" kaede said slamming her heel on the the guys right hand feling the bones break. with that dne she returbnedher sword to her side and made her was to the dojo walking in she saw Sayuka hit Shingo and then say Okay, but she had no idea what was going on. kaede took another step and then stopped looking at Sayuka noticing the blood on her cheek. "i see you had another Yakuza call at the shrine Sayuka" she said.

Shingo held his head.

"Oi" I am just testing her. If her eyes are closed she must be pretty good but I just wanted to see how good. If the samurai that come here aren't strong, then to me they just aren't samurai.

Shingo disappeared and then reappeared behind Kaede. "All you girls are too violent. Though I guess they always deserve it." Shingo tossed Sayuka a tissue.

"Any idea what we are doing today? I heard there are some areas that are getting pretty dangerous around here." Shingo disappeared and reappeared in front of Sayuka and nabbed the tissue back.

"You are welcome " he said with a playful tone behind his fox mask.

Kaede came stating that Sayuka must have had to deal with the Yakuza again. Shingo gave her a tissue to wipe the blood of her cheek. Sayuka gave to tissue back and said: "Thank you." Then Shingo talked about pretty dangerous areas in the city. "I think we will find enough criminals to get rid of. I just we dont run into the police because we are kind of infamous and they see us as a radical self-justice group. Look here." Sayuka said and layed a copy of the Tokyo Newspaper on the table. It said on the front page: "Samurai wannabes on killing spree." In small under it, it said: "Multiple yakuza henchmen dead. The Itake clan boss fears for his life." "I read through it and it mainly says that the members are unknown by name and that my family blames me for killing some of the Yakuza scum but the police didnt make any charges because of lack of evidence. My family keeps blaming me for the death of a couple family members although they died in accidents. The only person who stand by my side in the family is my grandmother, Aiko Ichitake, chairwoman of the Ichitake Train Manufacturing Company." Sayuka said. "Well now, in school we have Literature, then Chemistry, then Arts and finally Maths. Since I live not even 2 minutes from school, Mr. Nobunaga told me what we will be doing. Literature: We will be doing poems and haikus. Chemistry: We will be talking about making sake and will try Mr. Nobunagas homemade sake. In Arts: We will go out and make sketches of the patch of forest around the school. And in Maths just a review of the last assignment."

(I called the teacher Mr. Nobunaga because Oda Nobunaga was a great samurai lord in feudal times.)

Midori had stood all this time holding shingo's knife in the exact place where she had caught it. She had listened to everything carefully, but had said nothing. Quietly, she walked over to Shingo, and gave him his knfe back.

"Next time be sure i know what you are doing. Fellow Samurai or not if you do throw a knife at me again when we are not rraining, I will not hesitate to attack in defense."

"Oh?!" Shingo flipped the blade several times in his hand and with a quick swipe it disappeared somewhere within his clothes. With a swipe of his other hand the fox mask turned into a grinning devil.

Shingo's hands twitched slightly. Easy now he told himself. She's not a target.

"My bad my bad," He leaned in closer taking in the shape of her face. He licked his lips behind the mask.

"I didn't do my math assignments though" he turned to Kaede and Sayuka. " Could I copy from either of you again?"

"i really hate when the papers makeus out to be the bad guys when we basicly do the cops jobs for them, hey do you think it would be wrong if i payed the guy that wrote that article a vistit" Kaede said looking at the paper. after hearing what the lessons where for the day she simply said "well its a real easy day."

It didnt take long for shingo to ask if he could copy her math assignment and she laughed before saying "i'll make you a deal i'll let you copy my assignment but in return you have to be my new training dummy for 2 days. so that would mean that you stand there and take my attacks with no complaints, but before you think thats easy i should tell you that my training dummies dont last more than 1 hour and i suply the furnace with the majority of its firewood so what do you say" at these words a dark smile crossed aede's lips.

Kaede said something about paying the guy who wrote the newspaper article a visit. "Dont make it worse than it is Kaede. If you beat that guy or threaten him, then we will look as bad as the yakuza. We dont want that kind of reputation you know." Sayuka said and sighed. "You need to think of something else, like maybe helping the elderly or something like that. But now class is about to start. There are some people missing and Mr. Nobunaga hasnt come in yet."

"Tempting Kaede," said Shingo. "I haven't seen you practice in awhile. maybe you've gotten rusty. How about you show me what you can do?

Shingo did a wave of his hand and the dummy began to distort. "And just for a pleasing affect" The dummy took on the exact appearance of Shingo. "I'd like to see how well you've progressed ... or regressed since we were both on an assignment together. Then I'll decide on whether or not a should take you up on the offer"

Shingo turned to the freshman. "You good at math miss tough and silent?"

"oh boy i love that people think i get rusty just because the dont se my training, and i'm loning the fact you made it look like you it makes it so much more fun" she said drawing out the wooden sword from her side.

"devine wind techniqe 1 air slash" Kaede said slicing the sword up and sending a bust of wind at the dummy the took of one of the arms. "and thats not even the strongest techniqe but thats not for you to see, but i can spit that dummy into fire wood with out the wind" she said pushing off the ground. in quick sucession kaede hit the dummy inthe side of the head both shoulders and both legs before stopping infront of it. "i love this part you ready" She said before spinning on one foot to hit the dummy with a powerful swing causing the bummy to fal into peices that where ready for the fire. "its up o you shingo give me your answer when your ready but like Sayuka said its time for class" Kaede said placeing her sword back.

Sendoh tightened the sash on his robe, making sure it was in a comfortable spot before moving on. He was pushing being late for school, which was a little rare for him. He had spent a little to much time doing his morning training and meditation, and had forgot to check the clock, so now he was hurrying.

He walked onto the grounds of Bunkyo High, his bag slung over his shoulder. His left hand rested high up on his sword sheath, just under the hand guard of his katana like it always did, while his right arm swung carelessly at his side. He walked with his head down slightly and his eyes closed, as he always did to school. He had made this walk back and forth so many times now that he knew it by heart, and trying to do things like this without use of your eyes was always good training.

Coming up to the dojo, Sendoh could already hear sounds coming from inside. There were voices and the sounds of dummies being torn to shreds. It seemed everyone was in an active mood already this morning though. Sendoh had to sigh though, they were all so strong that replacing the equipment they frequently destroyed was starting to hurt even his funds. A little restraint never hurt anyone.

Sendoh opened the doors to the dojo, stepped in, and shut them behind him. He turned back to the room and finally opened his eyes, taking in the fact that everyone was there and some were indeed training. Offering up a smile, Sendoh raised his hand towards the others. "Good morning every one!"

Before responding to Midori, Kaede had taken him up on his offer of attacking the dummy but didn't take the bait of showing off her strongest technique.

Shingo smirked as the dummy-"shingo" got its arm sliced off and then got cut into pieces. Shingo turned to the freshman. "Nevermind, it is time for class, I'm not that quick when it comes to writing so I'll just have to live with my laziness.

Shingo saw the new comer and lifted his hand but said nothing. "Time for class, Sendoh. If you want to see all the fun you should get here sooner" Shingo distorted and disappeared and then appeared by the door.

"Well see you all in class" he said as his demon mask was once again replaced by the fox mask.

Midori sais nothing as she walked past him to get to class. Her right eye took n everything. Most of the Samurai were regular, honorable swordsmen. But Shingo...something about thatone reminded her of herself from before she became a Samurai. No one knew that if you combined her nicknames that you got her original nickname, the "Crimson Demon". she never told anybody that. There was no reason to. Her thoughts haunted her as she walked into the classroom.

Shingo waved to Midori as she came in to the class room. "Hey, hey over here sit here!" he shouted.

The teacher didn't react at all. Shingo was impressed and disappointed. Being a samurai makes everyone walks on egg shells around you. Well that just weeds out the weak ones I guess. The more interesting ones are the ones that talk up and talk back.

It seemed to Shingo that Midori was deep in her thoughts and probably didn't hear him and probably wouldn't come sit next to him. Shingo looked for the other members of the Samurai club but noticed none were there yet.

Shingo started coming up with rude questions for Midori if she ended up sitting next to him. Granted he could pass notes in an interesting way if she chose not to sit next to him too. Shingo was torn between wanting Midori next to him or not.

Damn that Kaede. All she had to do is give me the danged paper, but she is still in top form. Such exquisite power. Strong and soft. Kaede the Zephyr. Shingo smiled. That is my nickname for her. I wonder if she'll like it.

Sayuka came into the classroom and sat down at her desk which seemed more like a table for a one person dining room and a cushion on the floor behind it. Mr. Nobunaga sat at his desk with sunglasses on. He was snoring. Mr. Nobunaga was a guy maybe in his mid or late 20s. He wore his hair long and his face was full of beard stubble as if he hadnt shaved for the past two or three days. "Mr. Nobunaga wake up." Sayuka said friendly, shaking his shoulder. Mr. Nobunaga woke up touching Sayukas breast and said tiredly: "Let me sleep a bit longer, mom." He then looked up to find a scary Sayuka with a creepy and somehow agitated smile on her face. "If you touch my breast or call me mom again, I will kill you." Sayuka said. Mr. Nobunaga shrieked and said: "Ok. I will start class now." Her took his papers out and acted calm and cool as always and said: "Today in Literature, we will be writing poems and haikus. It is part of the samurai way to do this. You have 30 minutes to write a poem or haiku and you will then present it to the class. Just I dont feel like listening to love poems and crap like that." "Yeah because you got your heart broken so often because you are a pervert and probably have a lolita complex." Sayuka said. Then Mr. Nobunaga said: "I am not a pervert! Plus I am not a pedophile lolicon!." "Hehe. You practically live at the dojo which makes you my neighbor. Last thunderstorm when you came over to the shrine, you forgot this. And you are a skirtchaser in the park." Sayuka said holding up a copy of the Loli Daily. Then Mr. Nobunaga stuttered: "Th...That isnt mine! Stop t...trying to frame me!" Sayuka slid her kimono down to the point she showed her bare shoulders and some cleavage and said: "So you are saying you dont like younger girls and you are probably gay?" Blood ran out of Nobunaga-senseis nose and he then said: "I didnt say that. Ok I like younger girls but I am not a lolicon." "Well see about that." Sayuka said and adjusted her kimono back to how it was.
"Ok class. Start making your poems!" Mr. Nobunaga said.

Midori's one eye swiveled over to Shingo. Hmm...should I even bother? She wondered. Then as the boy did intrigue her, she ended up going over and acctually sitting next to him, merely out of curiosity. She didn't say anything to him though, she just started writing. What am I doing, letting myself be distracted by the likes of him?

Well he hadn't been late to class, but he had been late enough to miss practicing with the others. After acknowledging Shingo and the others Sendoh turned around and exited the dojo. He had one errand to run really quick before going into class.

Sendoh made his way to the main office, where he asked for the club activities counselor. He was in, and Sendoh made his way into his room. Just like the rest of the school, the club activities counselor was afraid of the Samurai Club members, and didn't like them very much. Most faculty members didn't give Sendoh much hassle though, because he was the least aggressive at school, and the amount of money he funneled in was very helpful to keep many things running.

"Ahh Sendoh. In need or more supplies so soon?" Mr. Ayabara asked after glancing up to Sendoh as he walked in, then looking back to some paper work on his desk.

"Yes, that is the case. This should cover it, please make it speedy as always." Sendoh stated simply. He set a small loaded pouch down on the table and then turned and walked out without saying another word.

He made it into class with just a little bit of time to spare, and took his seat nearest the door. It appeared today they would be working on haiku, one of Sendoh's favorite things to do. Perhaps today would be a decent day after all.
