Introduction
There’s always two sides to a story. Usually, we hear about the good side, however, this is about the dark side. Not too long ago in the world known as Lado, plague had spread around the planet contaminating all life. The illness that plagued the world caused humans mental illness, making them naturally violent by nature and began to kill each other and the planet. They betrayed the trust of the Spirits of the land and broke all the rules of the planet. The humans tortured the forests, the spirits, animals, insects, their homes, children, and each other. The planet was dying and the Spirits could not stop them, so they created five immortal individuals whose purpose was to save the planet. The individuals were spread around the planet, each assigned a continent to protect and save. They were born and discovered by the humans who were appalled by their strange and distinct appearances. They dubbed the immortal individuals as “Freaks”. The humans captured each individual and immediately chained them and placed them in cages. They tortured the immortals who had not been given enough time to learn of their powers that would of saved them from the humans. The humans set the Freaks up as showcases, becoming sources of entertainment and almost circus like. When the Freaks began to learn of their powers through their anger and hatred, the humans would then infuriate the Freaks even more just to get them to use their power calling them tricks. The Freaks were treated like animals. They grew only to the age of 25, not aging past those years. They grew to be filled with hatred and bitterness towards the human race but were unable to escape because they were unaware of their full potential with their powers.
One individual, who went by the name of Vance, grew to be extremely intelligent and clever. For a long time he studied the individuals, learning their ways and behaviors. One human he particularly watched was his “caretaker”, the man he loathed the most out of anyone. He knew his caretaker held the keys to his chains and the man would come into his cage every morning to irk Vance and yell vile things to him. Vance was aware of the power with him which was fueled with fury and pride. He knew a few tricks but needed to do more in order to take down his caretaker. He practiced every night trying to shoot disk like balls of energy and practiced his aim and accuracy. Vance became very good at this trick then thought of ways to make his caretaker angry and try to throw a punch at him. One morning when his caretaker came into his cage he repeated the vile words that the caretaker would usually say to him, his plan worked and the caretaker went to go punch him in the face. Vance then launched his disks of energy knocking the man unconscious and leaving the man’s keys on his belt resting on the ground before Vance to take. Vance freed himself and exited the cage, going on a rampage and destroying the town he resided in. He killed all the humans living in the town and left the town to ashes, getting his revenge on the greedy and nasty humans. He then searched around the world for the other individuals created by the Spirits and freed each of them. Together, they formed a faction called Twisted Entities, with Vance leading them, and they agreed to annihilate the human race on Lado. With the humans gone from the world, soon the plant life and creatures of Lado began to become plagued by the illness the humans suffered from. The creatures became rabid and violent killing and hunting each other. The plant life began to decay into sludge and toxins that poisoned the air of Lado.
The Twisted Entities faction took a liking to a castle in the center of Lado, shielding it together with their powers and the protection of their creators from any outsiders and intruders. The Spirits commended their creations for teaching the human race a valuable and devastating lesson. The Spirits had also grown to hate the humans after their betrayal and mistreatment of their creations. However, Lado was a dying planet, close to it’s end. Once everything died the planet would explode and cease to exist. The Spirits told their creations that there are other planets within the galaxy, other planets also holding human life. They knew that once the planet died, so would the Spirits residing on Lado, but the Spirits wished for their creations to thrive and continue to live. The faction agreed that they needed a new home because Lado would soon no longer be suitable. The Spirits told their creations stories about the galaxy, and how the human planets used to communicate with each other but differences in government, control, and economics caused them all to divide and live on their own accounts. The Spirits then granted their creations powers that would allow them to open portals that would travel through space, to other planets, and to return to their home in Lado.
The Twisted Entities faction continued to practice their powers and learn of their unique individual abilities. They traveled through space and to the human planets, searching for a suitable planet that had everything they needed to survive. They eventually found the human planet called Eshara. Eshara was a beautiful planet, however, it was behind in technology and not as nearly advanced as the other human planets. The faction chose this planet to conquer and frequently visited the planet, blending in easily with the human race. They began to learn of Eshara’s history and origins. Centuries ago, the Esharan people used to dwell and live along side dragons. They lived together in harmony and grew to be close in bonds. But, when war broke out between the kingdoms of Eshara, it devastated the planet and caused massive destruction because of the use of dragons in battles. The Spirits of Eshara eventually viewed the dragons to be too dangerous for the planet and created their own immortals to banish the dragons. The immortals formed a faction as well, then selected a continent, evicting all humans out of it and built a large camp that would hold all the remaining dragons. The dragons were each captured and forced into this camp, banished into eternal slumber. They were locked away by sacred magic the immortals created. The only way to enter the dragon camp is by placing the 5 Dragonian Orbs into the slots of the front entrance of the camp. The Dragonian Orbs were scattered throughout Eshara by the immortal faction. The immortal faction currently guards and resides in the dragon camp making sure no one dares to awaken the beasts that reside in the camp. They control the entire continent and have made it their own home.
The Twisted Entities faction loved the idea of dragons and wanted them as allies. They then learned of one of the most fierce dragons who was the leader of the dragon race, his name was Peluda, a dragon who breathes fire and acid. Vance then told his comrades that Peluda was the key to conquering Eshara. However, the immortal faction on this planet stands as a major threat to the Twisted Entities faction. The Twisted Entities faction currently explores Eshara trying to learn the land well and find clues as to where they can find the Dragonian Orbs. However, once the faction gets their hands on the first orb, the immortal faction of Eshara discovers their presence leading to major war, hatred, and constant threats to all their lives. The immortal faction of this planet will not let the Twisted Entities faction take over their planet. But they do not come in conflict until much later.
THE SETTING
The setting of the story is completely fantasy but the characters and humans are more so in a medieval era. There are castles, cities, towns, and villages in the human worlds. In Lado these places are now in ruins. The characters and humans use weapons such as swords, katana, nunchucks, fans, shields, spears, and so on for battle. So keep that in mind for your characters. And also keep in mind your characters will have special powers as well as weapons.
The Twisted Entities faction has their headquarters in Lado, where they took over the nicest castle in Lado and made it into their home. The castle is covered with a dark force field to keep any invaders outside the castle grounds. No one can enter the castle grounds but them.
Eshara is the thriving human world that the faction is interested in conquering. Eshara is full of beautiful grasslands, plains, meadows, villages, towns, cities, forests, waters, and so forth. However, there is a lot of poverty in Eshara, so most humans are poor and are peasants. Only Kings, Queens, Princesses, Princes, and Lords live in castles. Castles are only located in cities.
About Twisted Entities Faction
The members of the faction have all already aged to 25 years and they are all the same exact age so that is not going to be included in the character application. Also, each member has their own individual ability. The slots of the roleplay are going to be filled by abilities taken not by any status because each of the members including the leader are equal in power and age. Vance was only made leader

because he was able to free each of them.
The faction members also have spiritual powers alongside their individual abilities. They each have been given a certain amount of power from their Spirit Creators making them partially living and solid spirits themselves. The Spirit power is what makes them immortal. So besides their abilities, any of them can draw energy from their inner Spirit power source and use that energy in attack forms.
Also, the members of the faction look almost just like humans so make sure your descriptions are human like. However, the characters can have ancient markings on them or elf ears or even claws if you’d like. But nothing crazy that is really far from human.
Once I get the character slots filled, I’m going to discuss with everyone some extra info I’ll be adding afterwards so I’ll let all of you know when roleplay is going to start and I’ll be posting the first post.
The Abilities:
Remember, you are limited to only ONE ability.
(TAKEN BY echored) Space Creature: You are a space creature, of the species Aduro. You came from the planet called Artio and you’re currently a traveling space nomad. You had been banished from Artio after your Elders were slaughtered who ruled over the Aduro, they were killed due to political conflicts within the planet. Since then, you’ve been traveling in search of a new home planet to live in, but grew to enjoy the travel and have seen many worlds. You have a life span of 550 years and you have your own unique abilities. You have the ability to float and create burning lights (fire) in any place, including atmospheres with no oxygen. You have no gender and can be referred to as he/she. You also travel through space through dimensions and portals which is how you run into the Twisted Entities Faction on one of their missions. Intrigued by their unique appearance and strength, you decide to tag a long with them. Since you have such a long life span, you are incredibly intelligent, being able to speak fluently in many languages and dialects because of all the planets you’ve traveled to and seen. You just so happen to know about the planet Eshara, and the human race and the dragons that reside there. You used to be friends with a dragon back when they roamed Eshara freely and learned of the dragon history and how they actually roamed Eshara before the humans. You eventually become the faction’s key to conquering Eshara holding valuable information about the dragons and the planet. You also know about the Dragonian Orbs and even how to use them, which is why the faction needs her. However, you don’t share all your information until later when the faction discovers the dragons and Dragonian Orbs, which sparks your memory and makes you extremely useful and a guide to the faction.

Those cold, green eyes quickly turned to the opposite direction. Those dark, green eyes could belong to no one other than that of the valiant, Vance. He scanned the area seeing no one in sight in this small corridor of the castle. He was in the west wing of the castle, at a dead end where it was peaceful and quiet, just as he liked it. He often comes to this spot to think, staring over the Lands of Despair in which he and his faction now ruled. It wasn’t too long ago when Twisted Entities conquered this planet. After being held in captivity for so long by the humans, they couldn’t help but release their rage on the humans, wiping out the entire race. The humans left the faction bitter, and this planet was no longer of use to them.
Vance’s gaze fell onto the dark brick wall to his left. He placed his hand gently on the wall, keeping his gaze steady on his hand. Focusing all of his energy into the tips of his fingers, the wall suddenly shattered before him, with brick sediments falling to the ground. He had just broken the atomic bonds that held this wall together. The entire wall did not crumble, he only managed to break a large hole into it. Feeling disappointed, he did a swift movement of his hands, raising the sediments of bricks and placing them all back together restoring those strong atomic structures so that the wall was whole again.
“I need more practice,” he muttered to himself.
His goal was to one day shatter the entire wall with one hand, but his hands only emitted a rather small range of energy which frustrated him. Vance felt extremely keen and eager to learn more about his ability to manipulate the four states of matter. That even meant he could control plasma, something that the stars are made of. He grew bored of being by himself and was pondering about Eshara, the recently discovered human planet the faction had found. The planet held everything they needed in order to live, and it was much nicer than this world. He then started a slow pace down the corridor, planning to return to the throne room and think about the faction’s dilemma some more. Time was slowly running out for them. In fact, he knew all their lives were in danger, immortals or not.

Age: 324
Current Dimension: The area of Eshara, floating in Outer Space
If one could witness true freedom, it would be in this moment now. It wasn’t the first time Elei had thought this and it wasn’t anywhere close to the last. Elei’mei was the only speck of light within at least a galaxy or two. Not a star in sight. The darkness was never-ending, not a sound within miles from her origin. Completely alone to bask in chilly darkness. No one to call on or no one to know where to find Elei even if they tried. The only noise was the humming of incoherent sounds escaping from Elei’s mouth to keep entertained, white alabaster lips parted every so slightly. The dull glow of pink flames hid under heavy eyelids that were shut, blue blades of hair dancing rhythmically in anti-gravity. The hair doused Elei’s face, prickling the crest of her nose. There was no sense of time, not a moon or sunrise to follow by within eyeshot. No need to see what was in front or behind. There was truly nothing to see, except for Elei'mei themself. What lit the space around Elei were tendrils of energy radiating fluorescent light. Wings were eventually shaped with these lights after many years of practice, emanating from her upper back center. Elei was fond of the symbolism behind the wings, of being a free traveler, of not having a permanent home. Not to say Elei was not in search of a home, because indeed that was an important matter. There were specific portals that Elei often visited on purpose, in order to visit with friends or check up on how a planet is doing in general- potential resting places. In 324 years of life, Elei’mei had witnessed many thousands of civilizations and planets crumble to demise, only to later be rebuilt or recycled into cosmic dust and new planets. There was a flow to everything.
On this particular visit, Elei had came in contact with the portal to revisit Eshara, home of the dragons... err, no, the humans now. A look of mild sadness touched Elei’s face, lips naturally pouty at the thought of what was once the great and power planet of Eshara, and the proud, magnificent dragons that ruled. The last time Elei had been to this dimension was a major shock, for Elei’ found that all the dragons had been placed under a deep sleep and moved to one continent, like prisoners, so that the humans could live their fragile, peaceful, short lives. At the moment more memories began to arise, at the thought of resting friends, Elei closed off his mind. Silence.
Tradition.
Whether it was a ritual of prayer, or just a habitual hobby, Elei took this alone time surrounded by darkness to start on creating a star. With no other major light source around, this current location was ideal for making whatever size star Elei was tempted to make. Being in Eshara, it should be brighter, stronger, hotter. In dedication to the slumbering dragons. If ever they were to arise from their sleep, hopefully this potential star would be there to greet them.
And so Elei began, hovering with legs and toes extended to flex out his body. The small frame and body structure was so compact and thin, yet powerful and hard as stone, with a marble glaze. The process of creating a star came natural for Elei, whose race is known for the creation of stars across the galaxies and beyond to eons of dimensions. Elei was only 10 when she was able to produce a shining ball of fire, so bright and blinding it was almost a crystal blue. Another important part in the creation of a new star was the energy that came from Elei’s staff. The violet crystal ball in the center was an ocean of energy wrapped in gold weaving. It hovered in this compact space, never touching it’s cage. Elei built off her natural energy and the energy of the staff to summon the strength and power to plant the star seedling.
Gripping both hands on the golden staff's base, Elei’s eyes opened with a bright glow, much lighter than normal. Hair stood on ends as if laced with static tips, energy pulsing through every fiber. The wings behind her back faded into the darkness. What was left was the glow of Elei’s body and the staff itself. There was a vibration, body going into a blur of shakes at the escalation of power. Gradually, and with concentration, Elei began to develop a bright core for the star about 20 yards away. Eerie sounds began to emit from Elei's throat, a chant now being recited in an unknown language. It was a spiritual blessing, that this star live on for ages even after Elei's own death.
After the gentle chant, the noise ended. Silence was a major requirement from this point on, for if Elei didn’t focus, the star could get loose, become a shooting star. It would be wasted energy and effort either way you looked at it if it got away. Elei liked keeping his creations stationary. While the process of the star making had began, Elei took to floating in circles around the creation. The star grew bigger, brighter by the second. It started off a bright blue but now it was a passionate red with yellow highlighting swirls. The core had already began to harden and the gases convulsed with purpose. The larger the shape grew, the further away Elei began to gravitate around it. The expression on Elei'mei's face was of relaxation and a bit of smugness. There wasn't anyone around to boast to, so Elei had to brag to himself.
OOC Notes
A tinkle of laughter.
The sound of running footsteps.
A long corridor stretched endlessly. Its sturdy walls, gloomy and grey, with an occasional burst of light from a torch hung loosely upon its bracket. The whole place was dark. No light shone from outside as no windows framed this hallway. Despite the blistering heat that radiated outside, the castle still remained cool and damp, as though it refused to conform. Cobwebs hung delicately across the high ceiling, the only other sign of life that remained within its walls. The other was, of course, the six immortals that had taken up residence here after their many battles. Throughout history this castle has seen battles and wars, but none so great as the final one. The one where the human race had been all but eliminated in a fit of pure rage and fury. All it had taken was six people to bring a planet to its knees. And this corridor alone had many secrets that it could tell. From its end, a figure emerged. A wave of brilliantly blonde hair fell about her shoulders, swaying as she moved. Despite her small stature, she moved with an elegance achieved by no other. Down the corridor she hurried. Her two bright blue eyes were alight with a mischievous wonder and trained upon her destination. They could only belong to one Gabriella. The small woman had excitement written all over her pale face, her pink lips curved in a gentle smile. One who knew her well would know that she'd been up to no good. In this case, she had been up to no good, but the end result had not been what she had intended. She had intended to play a prank on one of her fellow faction members, but instead she had discovered something that was a whole lot better than a prank.
Turning, she headed down another, smaller corridor. And as Gabbe came to the end of this one, she could see the multi-coloured light that was the sky through a window. It saddened her a little. As a child she had always loved the bright blue sky. It had matched her eyes. But now this was not a world that she knew. Instead it was one that she had destroyed. But there was no time for mercy. The humans did not give them mercy, nor did they care about their suffering. No, Gabbe would not linger on the thoughts. It did not matter. That time was over now and she felt no remorse for what she had done. What they had all done. It was a reminder of the past and that was not something she wanted to think about. It was time to think only of the future.
"I thought I'd find you here," She said in a bright voice, when her eyes fell upon Vance. For unexplainable reasons, Gabriella could always tell where her faction was, each and every one of them. She believed it was because she could sense the change in energy that surrounded them. They were of course different from others. So very different. Although she never actually told them anything about her seeking abilities, she was aware that they probably knew. "I have something to show you." She gave him a cheeky smile, as she settled herself upon the floor, her back resting against the wall Vance had been facing. Of course, she could see that Vance wanted to be alone. Why else would he have come to such a deserted place? But, she knew she could push the limits further than any of the faction. She considered herself the youngest and they each treated her so. She didn’t mind.
Holding out her hand, palm up, she concentrated hard. Gabbe could feel the tingle in her toes, across her skin, the tips of her fingers. Static travelled around her body quickly, heading towards her hand. In a flash of light, a tiny ball, the size of a marble at most, appeared. It crackled and sizzled in her hand, hovering just above her skin. Gabbe could create bursts of voltage, but never before had she been able to sustain one for any length of time. It was a breakthrough for her, even if it was a small. Just as quickly as it had appeared, the ball of electricity fizzled out, the electrons dissipating through the air.
“I’ve never been able to do that Vance!” She exclaimed happily, looking up at him with a face full of glee.

The beat was still inside of Aiyne's chest. Or was it her heart that thumbed wildly? Her fingertips tingled with the essence of such incredible playing and she stared down at their reddened state. Frowning down at a few fingertips she noticed the thin slice that was seeping lifeblood down into the bowl of her palm.. She really had been playing in such a mind erasing way, for the pain of the harp's bite did not even phase the music. Aiyne stood, and as she did the silk white skirts swung down to tickle her ankles. Setting the broken harp against the edge of a open window, Aiyne was stalled for a moment when a brightness in her peripherals snatched attention to it. It was hard to see star's in the sky from the unruly gases outside of the Faction’s force-field. But squinting through the smog Aiyne could now see a curiously small ball of light flicker in the abyss of black. That darkness that was twin to the seep hues of her eyes. Turning from the window she padded barefoot to the door of her chamber and pulled the large oak door open with a tiny whimper of effort. She was not one to use her powers like the others, she preferred to have perseverance in meditation to explore and control the bounds of gravity. Swiftly she made her way down the east wing. This hall was wide and full of decorative carpets, tapestries, and portraits that reflected the previous owners. Humans. Even now a fear crept along her spine as she past the images, and she picked up her past, practically running until she found herself at the very place she knew Vance to be. It was common knowledge that she was the closest with Vance and Leamond, for those two in the faction seemed to understand the building storms that raged inside of her head. At night, she had terrible terrors that kept her in a panic, and it was all from the monstrosity her life had been. The torture, the blood, the never ending humiliation. She shuddered just letting that plague of thoughts enter for a moment, but quickly she pushed it away. Vance was, of course, in his quiet corridor not far away from her large secluded bedroom.
She did not have to disrupt his peace, for it seemed Vance was not alone. That gleeful unbidden excitement that piped into the silence of such an energy charged space clearly belonged to no other but Gabriella. Aiyne was not at all close to the girl though she respected talent, perseverance, and humor when at all possible. It was in any case that Aiyne was not one to express these feelings. She was serene, quiet, and quite possibly the most kindest person in the universe. But, to never be mistaken as soft, Aiyne was quite deadly to those who deserved it. And the humans, well, they more than deserved the burning hatred that choked the black haired girl. Nodding in greeting to the beautiful blond, who was only an inch shorter than Aiyne, she swept past until right in front of Vance. The girls were of similar proportions. Yet, Aiyne appeared more delicate and dark whereas Gabriella was angelic and shone brighter than the stars. She lifted her bloodied hand up to the man who she saw as her savior, her sibling of the soul, and twisted it so that the dim light of the corridor reflected off of the marred cut flesh. Her uninjured hand came up to cup Vance's warm cheek, and she let her energy flow into him like a waterfall of cool, refreshing, and magical knowing. He would instantly be flooded with her emotions, and Aiyne kept all of them in check, filtering until one emotion was clear. Pain. Followed by a gentle prodding of other emotions that all spelled out:
Please, help. It hurts.

Letting his form meld back into it's more natural state he slid just as easily into a third. This one being the form of a large muscular white creature, a serpent-like thing that had evolved to suit the harsh conditions the planet now faced. The scaled snake had nearly tripled in size since the days of his childhood. The venom produced in the creatures fangs now coated it's entire body and filled it's own blood. No creature would bite into one of these massive poison snakes.Even a starving crazed animal would give it wide birth just to be safe. Of course that wasn't Dent's reason for choosing the form. The serpent wasn't quite blind, but it saw the world in different colors that he found stunning. This was after all, part of why he practiced with this ability of his so often. Taking a literal walk in someone, or something, else's body was amazing. The other reason why shifted forms so often was because, unlike the others at least from what he could tell, they all had to turn their powers on while he struggled to stop his. It was why he'd play out roles, it focused his mind and therefore his form. If his mind wandered his body would eventually follow it. For this reason he half suspected he could use his power more easily, but he also supposed if the group should ever turn on each other he'd be in the least favorable position. That would hopefully never be an issue. Hiding was his weapon, not an escape.
Dent, having no particular destination in mind slid along the floor silently. Gliding along simply enjoying the tug and pull of the muscles that lined his body. Flicking his tongue out he scented the others who had been down this hall at one point or another. Then a strange tang caught his senses making him freeze and then coil on the spot. Shifting into an animal more suited for tracking, a wolf, he breathed in the scent more clearly... blood. Springing forward he followed the smell, pausing at the entrance of the room he felt it was the source and walking in cautiously. Aiyne was the one bleeding, from what Dent could only guess, but now that he knew it wasn't serious he settled back into his normal shape. Black cloak fanning out around him he hunkered down against the wall. He'd loiter for a bit until he figured out what had happened and what their dear Gabriella had planned.

He had been sat on the castle roof for a number of hours now, simply taking time to himself to think. It wasn't that he had little time to himself these days, nor that he even desired it so much - The faction was company he could be proud of - but it was more the fact that with no significant outlet for his gift he required a little more alone time than the others in order to contain it effectively. The hours had been kind, and despite the heat of the night the slender man felt good, so he stood and made his way back down through the levels of the castle, reaching out with his mind to locate his friends. It did not take him long to find them.
Still, he did not go directly towards any of them. He took the time to pass by his own room and analyse his reflection for a while with his meadow-green eyes. Unable to utilise his powers left the man with far too much time for grooming himself and it became something he did almost religiously. This time he had only sat since last checking himself and so there was little to perfect and it was barely a minute before he passed through his door once more on his way to the collection of his campadres.
Gliding across the threshold and into the room, Falwich was unsurprised to see that most had gathered together, apparently at a similar time, in the same place.
"Good evening my friends, I trust-" you are all well? As was his way, the barrier between speech and group telepathy had been crossed without his realising it and the rear end of his greeting would be felt in the Faction's minds rather than heard. "With the exception of Aiyne, it would seem." He had not seen her spilled blood but had felt remnants of her distress in his own mind after his unintended connection to each of them. It was not uncommon for him to receive random signals from Aiyne's consciousness, she communicated mostly through emotion after all. Sensing it was not serious he continued, rarely one to remain silent for too long in company. "It's a beautiful night out there. I was thinking about a long walk, if anyone had energy to spare-" an accompaniment would make it infintely more enjoyable.
When he finished he concentrated only on Aiyne and let her hear his words in her mind. I could try to take the pain away? Depite being non-verbal there was still a quiet sense of desperation in his communication. It had been some time since he had reason or permission to use his powers for anything more than silent speech and the frustration it caused him was becoming more than just an irritation.
OOC Notes
The recently-dead, though… they implore. They beg, they plead. They think she can bring them back, and this much is perhaps true, but it cannot be done in the way they wish it. Soulless corpses and disembodied souls are the materials of her despicable, disgusting craft, and she cannot put the two back together again. It does not stop them from asking her to try. Please, my lady! If not me, then at least my child, my son! He was only seven when his life was ripped from him; surely you have the mercy to undo the damage that was done!
Even if she does, the act is no less impossible. She tries, occasionally, to explain this to them, but engaging them at all just triggers another painful uproar. Better that she pretend not to hear, and hope uselessly that they will cease in their entreaties. Was there justice in creating this situation, in wiping the whole of the species from the face of the planet? The innocent died with the guilty, and their blood was much like hers. Even if it was justice, she pays for it now in a way that her fellows do not. It is not a burden she would want them to bear though, and so on this point she remains silent. She does not know if the telepath among them gets the occasional whisper through her mind, but if he does, he has not spoken of it to her, and she likes to think that he is just as ignorant as the rest. To them, for them, she summons spirits and raises rotting bodies from the earth- they need not know about any of the rest of it. Her sin, her burden, her darkness. It is no less than what she deserves for daring to presume herself a master over death, for using these putrefactive powers of hers.
She stands, presently, atop one of the castle spires. It must have been at some stage an observation point, for she can see the landscape lit from all sides by scant starlight and a sliver of moon. It is night, and she has been standing here since dusk. Not that anything has changed- the land is still dead, the planet still dying, and she hears this, too, as the barest of deep, musical, echoing murmurs beneath the rest. It hurts if she listens for too long, though, so she does not. The humans are dead, and the rest don’t have to deal with them anymore. She is different- the last few nights have been a sleepless hell of silent noise she cannot block out. She is not strong enough, and so she is forced to endure.
Inhaling deeply, Kiera attempts to dull the voices a bit, and the volume does subside. She has been doing nothing but listening for hours, and at least some of them are satisfied with this. Some are never satisfied. This varies for the dead just as much as it does for the living. Shifting her weight from one foot to the other, she glances to the summoned spirit next to her. A human’s soul, once, and one persistent in not leaving her be. He doesn’t speak, simply lingers. He is invisible to the others, and though she wishes he would just leave, she will admit that she doesn’t try that hard to make him go away. There are other things to bother with besides an unobtrusive spirit.
Besides, he has his uses. The scent of fresh air is unfortunately tinged with decay, and she frowns. They cannot stay here or they will die. This much, she has figured out on her own. What she does not know is where they should go. Maybe someone else has an idea.
Decided, Kiera lets her body slacken, toppling over the edge of the tower with the grace only given to something suspended mere moments before gravity takes over. There is a lurching in the pit of her stomach that she enjoys, and then she is falling, hurtling toward the ground, wind whistling past her ears and her hair snapping away from her face, dragging tendrils in the space behind her.
The spirit lends his assistance, and she slows before she hits the ground, steadily losing the momentum she has gained and turning upright, landing lightly upon the grassy terrain. The whisperings are worse this far down; they lament of a battle in which their worst fears were realized in their own minds, when they were suddenly borne down with crushing weight from nowhere, when their neurons misfired as their bodies’ electricity became erratic, their weapons evaporated into nothingness, and their dead comrades rose to take arms against them, or else something that looked like a loved one did. It was horrific for them, and she cannot imagine enduring it.
She doesn’t even think they deserved it, not wholesale. Her captors, at least, were probably doing the world a favor.
It would seem the others have gathered around Vance, as they have always seemed wont to do. Unless Kiera misses her guess (and she rarely does), Gabrielle is happy about something and something unrelated is wrong with Aiyne. She is not Falwich- the only minds she reads belong to corpses and ghosts, but even she can guess this much. For a moment, she considers leaving; clearly, they are busy with something. Even so, she decides rather weakly that she really does not wish to be alone with the dead, and their presence is dulled when in the company of the living. So Kiera waits. It is not as though she is without patience, after all.

At the sound of a chipper voice, Vance quickly snapped back into reality. He turned, letting his fierce, determined eyes rest on an excited Gabriella. Quickly studying her body language, he could tell she was up to something but thought nothing of it. Watching her settle on the ground, he knew she was going to stay and want to converse with him. Usually, this would annoy him because he would much rather solitude, but he felt calm today and didn't mind Gabbe's company. When she summoned a small ball of electricity in her palm, he couldn't help but feel a strong sense of pride for his fellow companion.
"Excellent, Gabbe," He gloated. "Try doing it again."
He felt another presence closeby. Looking over Gabbe's shoulder he saw Aiyne strolling towards them. Feeling her cool touch on his cheek, he felt her energy flood through him. Shutting his eyes he focused in what she was trying to tell him. He shuffled through her delicate emotions, feeling her sadness, anxiety, fears, happiness, serenity, and one emotion most importantly, pain. The pain was much more recognizable and stronger than the rest. He opened his eyes and stared straight into hers, attempting to give her a sense of security. He studied her face, then looked her up and down while quickly noticing the blood dripping from her fingers and palm. He grabbed her injured hand and examined the slice that had blood seeping through the opening of the skin.
Concerned, he looked right back up into her eyes. "How did you do this, Aiyne?" he asked.
At that instance he felt a third presence, noticing Dent transforming a few feet away from them. However, his focus had still remained on Aiyne. Next he heard the sound of Falwich's voice, greeting the four of them with his sentence finishing as an actual thought in his head. His eyes then rested on his other companion, and gave him a nod in return for greeting. Keira had soon joined them as well, and he couldn't help but snicker seeing that his entire faction had found him in his hiding place.
"So much for alone time," he said with a grin. "It seems you all found me anyway."

When Elei finally felt the twinge of fatigue creeping up his spine, it was time to let the star take over the process on its own. From the sidelines Elei could finally rest feeling accomplished with the outcome. The thought crossed Elei’s mind that indeed the planet Eshara would have no problem finding this star in the sky... The tiny body of this Aduro curled up, letting go of the heirloom staff to wrap his arms around his knees, chin resting gently forward against the smooth marble skin that made up his entire body. The staff hovered loyally at Elei’s side about a yard away, which would make one wonder why there was even reason to hold on to it in the first place if it had no intention of following gravity’s rules. Elei’s flat chest and slim build allowed her to curl up in almost a perfect ball. From a far off distance, one would assume to see what appeared to be a tiny ball of light gravitating around a larger ball of light and not even consider to think one of those sources was indeed a living creature. Elei’s eyes had dimmed now that she wasn’t pumping up her energy, falling back to the normal pale pink. This said, the white glow of Elei’s skin was continuing to permeate freely with little effort at all to maintain the visual. Gentle streams of multi-colored sparkles seemed to emit from around Elei like falling snow, only to disappear as fast as the specks appeared. If it weren’t for the constant light show around their skin, the Aduro would be fairly boring to look at. And gladly, that was not the case.
So there Elei’mei sat quietly, blinking lazily at the creation before him as he tried to regain some strength. It would be at least a few months before Elei would even attempt to create another star again. Yawning, he closed his eyes and let his ears take over. There wasn’t any sound but for the occasional crackling of fire and core molding together. It was in this peaceful, silent moment that Elei was beginning to realize how boring life was becoming. There wasn’t many things to see at this point in her life that she hadn’t already encountered. Besides for the rare moments of star building, what was left afterwards was an empty feeling.... something was missing. It was that same familiar emotion Elei would get from time to time when her mind would remember days of family, of a common race, and how now it was gone. The exile from Artio was decades upon decades ago, only a remnant memory, but that feeling of homelessness always lingered. It creeped and danced in far of crevasses of Elei’s mind, visiting the forefront in times likes these after Elei would create a star. She was weaker than usual, more vulnerable to the give in of emotion. But instead of sulking for a month, there had to be... more. Simply more.

"Didn't anyone tell you it's rude to invade people's thoughts?" She asked Falwich in her mind, giving him a cheeky grin. She actually didn't mind in the slightest. Although she knew many would find it an invasion, she didn't. It was nice to have an intimate conversation from time to time, without the others knowing of course. Absent-mindedly she ran a hand through Dent's black coat in greeting, scratching his ear. Little Gabbe got away with a lot when it came to her companions. Her other hand was held out flat in front of her, as she smiled wickedly. If something new happened to any one of them, they were likely to share it with the others. That's just the sort of people that they were. They were a close family and Gabbe cared for each and every one of them.
"So, I was about to play a prank..." She glanced slyly at Dent, an eyebrow raised. "On you..." It was said quickly, before she carried on. "When I discovered I could do this. Bearing in mind I can't sustain electricity for very long." Once again, she focused and it took mere seconds for a ball of lightning to form on her hand, sizzling and hissing once more. She grinned, watching it with happy eyes, before she allowed it to fizzle out. "See! Isn't that excellent." She was practically bouncing up and down on her little feet with excitement. She gripped Falwich's arm, unable to help the grin that spread across her pale face. This was big news for her. The fact that she could now sustain a ball meant that her powers were developing and growing in strength.
"I'll come for a walk with you," She added, looking out of the little window. "You're right, it is truly a beautiful night and it is wrong to stay inside." Linking her arm through his, she tugged him back down the corridor, away from the others. Glancing back at Dent, she smiled again. "Why don't you come with us Dent? I'm sure Falwich won't mind." She squeezed her companion's arm gently as they walked.

Even though he was the most receptacle to speaking inside their minds, whenever Aiyne tried to communicate it still came out in jumbled feelings, leaving him to sort through. Just the way Vance would have to. It was then at Vance's spoken question that the short female turned her dark gaze back to their leader. Or, at least that was the all consuming feeling Aiyne felt whenever thinking of him. Her chest filled with fresh air and pride at their valiant protector, rescuer, and friend. To answer his question her uninjured hand slipped into the pocket of her silk skirts, digging until at last the decently thick and completely snapped harp string was held in front of his face.
The arrival of Dent and Keria was also noted, and Ayine black shapely eyebrow rose over a passive face. It was always an amazing sight. All of them together at once, like a powerful force. With the six of them together all the humans in a world could never stand a chance. Gabriella's gentle comforting hand tore Aiyne away from the stinging pain of the deep cut along her palm and fingers. It was not often the mischievous young one would express concern but Aiyne took it with a gentle smile in her direction.
Watching Gabriella show off her new talents to Dent it was amazing to see how far they had all come. The thought of any human ever harming any one of them again sent a chill sweeping down Aiyne whilst Vance went about administering looks to determine how bad her injury was. Humans had held no concern over her welfare. She was used to cuts, bruises and bites going unhealed for long periods of time. Watching Gabriella's happy face, full of excitement and wonder, Aiyne had a dark thought. If any human ever tried to express their ithyphallic demonstrations on the sweet Gabbe she was quite sure tolerance would snap, and the body of that human would be in a soupy mass at Aiyne's feet.
To further distract her tumbling thoughts from the humans, pain, and helpless feelings Aiyne raised her uninjured hand. Focusing energy to the tips of soft fingertips, the air suddenly crackled with change. Feeling almost noticeably lighter that briefly caused a dizzying effect. Her goal, was to trap the final essence of Gabbe's fizzling voltage. In a force-field shimmering bubble the tiny round shape of electricity rose to be in the center of the group. The large the force field grew, the bigger the voltage seemed to grow until finally Aiyne let the shield crash into the ground, a large explosion rumbling against everyone’s feet. Contained there upon the stone floor was a deep perfectly round crater.

Didn't anyone tell you it's rude to invade people's thoughts? Gabbe. Falwich smiled and ceased his descent through the workings of Aiyne's mind, all things felt and seen forgotten in a moment, as was best for them both.
But that's half the fun he sent back, flashing her a similar grin as she approached Dent. Gabriella was the most easygoing of the group concerning his skills of mental infiltration, with the possible exception of Aiyne who shared his methods of communication to a certain degree, and she was well versed in wordless conversations as a result. So it was little surprise to him that she took up the offer of a walk across the wastelands they all called home. What was surprising was the ball of electrical power which she summoned from thin air no more than a few feet from him. A moment of silence fell about the room while everyone took notice and was broken by a chuckle of admiration from Falwich.
"My dear Gabbe, you've outdone yourself!" He felt a rush of pride overcome him and grinned again, knowing that he would not be the only one. Being so close a group had it's advantages and unconditional support was one such advantage. He reached out and watched as the ball popped and spat sparks as the life fizzled out of it, the fine hairs on the back of his hand standing on end as the static passed through the air. And then it was gone and Gabbe was clinging to his arm, ready to tackle the heat of the glorious night outside, suggesting Dent come along for the journey.
"Yes Dent, my shaggy friend, perhaps we can find you a leash for the trip?" he asked jokingly. The electron-wielding girl's good mood and humour were infectious and Falwich found himself itching to make a move.
"And Vance too, you have an eternity for time alone but a night such as this is rare enough to be enjoyed. We could make it a family occasion!" His exclamation was twinned with a gentle hand on Aiyne's shoulder; a gesture that she too was more than welcome.
You too Kiera. You stand in the shadows of the dead when there is so much joy to be gained from life. There is always room for one more, should your guest like to travel out with us. Who or whatever the presence he felt beside their secluded necromancer was, Falwich could only identify it's very existence through the connection he made with her. Telepathy was not a second hand tool and all he could gather for certain was that it was only Kiera's own trade which would be of any use in communication with what was no doubt a spirit. Whatever the case, it was not his place to ask.
It was only once he had extended all invitations that he noticed Gabbe's crackling sphere of harnessed energy flow seemingly reincarnated and trapped within a bubble. He watched with growing fascination as it rose above them all, growing and charging, before coming to a momentary halt in the air and crashing down with the force of a small earthquake beneath their feet. What remained thereafter was nothing but a crater and a thin cloud of dust at their feet. He looked up at the only possible source of such a display with unusually wide eyes.
"That was-" very impressive Aiyne. This time the transition from audible words to internal speech was a product of Falwich once more tuning into Aiyne's mind, continuing where he left off, a little embarresed at having been so easily distracted. Focusing all his concentration on the pain in her hand he drew in a deep breath and tilted his head, eyes now closed, as he crafted a barrier between the pain and the interpretation of such a feeling. In his own hand the telepath felt a jolt (An unfortunate result of strong empathy) and then the throbbing ache slipped away as though it was never there at all, for both parties involved.
It was truly a wonder to Falwich that they had all progressed so far and that they could work together so easily in such a relatively short amount of time. From the caged freaks they had started life as to the closest group of friends imaginable. It had been an emotional journey and one fraught with bloodletting and danger, fuelled by rage and hate. Yet he would change not a moment of it, because what mattered most was that they were all there together. Against all odds they had survived and flourished. It was no wonder he was rarely without a smile.

She is used to hiding, to waiting patiently, and to lurking in the shadow of unlife, and so the niceties of these things do not come without effort. This is a mark of long spent as a twisted, bulbous root plant, growing in a dark corner of a dank dungeon. Such life does not transform into a blossoming rose simply by being exposed to the sun. Some work is required, and though she will never get quite that far, she thinks she might at least gain a little color from the experience, and that is enough. She may never get around to telling them, but she feels privileged to be counted in their number.
Loyalty before trust, and she is a strange creature, isn’t she? Kiera smiles when she hears the electrostatic and opens her left eye to observe a moment of cooperation producing great result. The smile of their leader is radiant, the words of their telepath praise thick and fast. This is good; they move forward instead of back. She chooses for the moment to ignore how much she despises the idea of doing the same in any meaningful way. Were only her own abilities so beautiful as that.
Falwich’s voice breaks the surface of her mind like river-stone into still water, and this too she is comfortable with. She tilts her head to one side as he ‘speaks,’ and shakes her head in a reasonable facsimile of ruefulness. Of course, she replies, and even her mind-speech is quiet, flecked with slight melancholy. I do rather forget that sometimes. Forgive me. Truly, she thinks his words represent a misunderstanding, as though she could be other than what she is, as though she could exist in the happier, warmer places that the living are privileged to inhabit. It makes her unspeakably grateful that he thinks her capable, even if he is wrong, and so she does not correct him, but instead agrees as far as she is able.
“I simply came because a question occurred to me,” she said aloud, directing her statement mostly towards Vance, since it was he she had first thought to ask. “The planet is dying,” she stated matter-of-factly. She was fairly certain this was easy enough for the others to discern, but it was something she felt in her very bones by nature. “I only wonder where we are to go next?” Blinking slowly, once, she lifts a shoulder as if to indicate that her question does not require an answer- a deferment. She will not demand that which she herself cannot provide with any degree of certainty. Kiera has resolved to ask as little as possible of them, for she understands not the concept of reliance, of mutual exchange without tallies kept and debts called upon. It is not her wish to oblige, only to understand, but she is patient, and if such knowledge eludes her, she will not press the point.
OOC Notes
He let himself take in the scents around him, the others were gathering, one by one but surely they were getting together. A flicker from the sky took his attention, it was far out there, not on this planet, somewhere beyond the atmosphere….it interested him but there wasn’t much he could do about it at the moment. I’ll point it out to Vance and the others, it was a quiet thought he had to himself. He let himself meld back into his human self, there wasn’t much to it, just a thought and it happened; he had wished it was as easy to get into other forms. His panther and Wolf form were natural enough, he had practice with those, and he took the form of a bear once or twice, mostly to help Vance and the others fight, but he was still working on a flying creature though. A raven was what he wanted the most but he couldn’t seem to get it down.
He made his way down the wall, using whatever grips there were, loose stones, a tapestry here and there, he was almost down when he slipped up and went into a free fall. He panicked and frantically looked around, not much to work with, the tapestry nearby would leave one hell of a burn in he just grabbed it and held on. He thought about the panther again, but felt nothing change, he grabbed for the tapestry trying to get a grip when he felt the tapestry tear around his fingers. He had a vision of a cat that slipped clawing frantically at a wall. His hands and arms had grown darker, and furrier, but that was it, he felt the claws spring forth and he was slowing in the decent the ripping sound echoing slightly through the empty hall, to a much more comfortable pace. He landed hard, a loud smack as his bear feet hit the stone floor, but he was alright, he looked to his hands and arms, partially changed, but still human…..well in a sense, there were claws and fur, but they retained the human look.
He got excited at that moment, a successful partial transformation, if he could do that he could do more. He shifted fully into his wolf, sensing the others he took off in there direction full speed. He went through the corridors and felt the slight eerie presence of static, it made him forget why he was trying to get there so fast, and remember something not so pleasant from a few days ago..
Gabbe, she was a trickster, a trickster who wielded electrical control. She had gotten him good a few days ago, when he was in his cat form and sleeping. She had shocked him a good one, and his hair didn’t sit down for two days….it was comical relief for the others seeing a giant black fluff ball walking around the castle, didn’t matter what form he took both the wolf and panther suffered from the electrical shock, if was nice to see the crew smile, but the laughing was a little annoying. Yet he didn’t quite know what their moods would be, would they still snicker at the thought or did that pass?
He didn’t have time to think about the answer to that, he rounded a corner, and there everyone was, well mostly. Seemed as if they were headed somewhere. He melded into human form, the others had seen if before so it shouldn’t bother them.
“The planet is dying, I only wonder where we are to go next?” Man that was a mood kill, he looked into the distance at who said it, forgetting why he actually came to find the group. Kiera looked like she had seen better days, but then again that was just her. His mind snapped back to why he had come to find Vance, he approached the man, not thinking about how to explain it.
He thought back to the moment off falling, keeping that feeling in mind and forced himself to change, his arms and hands copied the affect earlier, he held them out to Vance and turned them over, pointing to the pads on his hands, just like a cats, even though they retained the human form, using his index he pushed down one the center of his left hand letting his claws come out. He gave a gleeful smile as he demonstrated what he could now do, it would make fighting, if there ever was anymore a little more easier. The smile faded a little as he remembered the light in the sky…
“There….was a light, I saw it earlier in the sky, a star….maybe?” His voice was soft, inaudible to those far away. It was uncommon for him to speak first, but it was something he wanted to get out there. He just looked at Vance, proud with himself on harnessing a little more of his ability.
OOC Notes
"Is this too tight, Aiyne?" he asked, hoping the handkerchief's wrapping wouldn't hurt her. His intention was to apply pressure to stop the bleeding and shield her hand from being further injured.
He then noticed Gabriella summon another ball of electricity. His eyes once again gleamed with pride as he patted Gabbe on the shoulder with praise. His faction was slowly making progress. His smile did not last long, as his smiles never usually do, and it fell back into its natural position. He often came across as such a solemn individual. He felt there was really little to smile about in this life. Most of the time, his smiles were strained and conflicted. Beneath his dark eyes rested a disturbed man. His hatred and bitterness was perhaps more overpowering than the others. It is hard to tell what really goes on within his mind, only Falwich is able to figure that out. For awhile, Vance was rather bothered by Falwich's ability to read his thoughts. But over time, his feelings grew to be more neutral about his faction member's ability and realized how intriguing and useful Falwich's power was.
Vance's attention then rested on Gabriella and Falwich, as the two locked arms after agreeing to go for a walk on this lovely night. Falwich was right, such a night as this was a rare occasion. Though the sky was constantly changing its colors, the sky was rarely clear and it often rained acid on the plains in the Lands of Despair. Not only was the land polluted, but the blistering heat was a hazard to each of them as well. The amount of greenhouse gases that remained stationary in the atmosphere was continuously trapping heat, resulting in deadly rising temperatures. However, the castle was shielded from all those natural forces of the planet. The pollutants rarely entered the castle and the castle often remained cool and damp, as if it almost had it's own weather system. Vance had taken note earlier of the clear skies and cool air. When the air was cool, it was easier to travel in without being choked by poisonous gases.
"Vance too, you have an eternity for time alone but a night such as this is rare enough to be enjoyed. We could make it a family occasion!" Falwich exclaimed while directing his attention at Vance and then placing his hand on Aiyne's shoulder.
Vance took a moment to respond, but nodded his head in agreement. "I suppose you're right, Falwich. Perhaps some fresh air will clear my thoughts as well."
He was then rather surprised by Aiyne's own gestures as she trapped Gabriella's floating ball of electricity in a shimmering force field. She extended the force field, which caused the electricity to extend into an even larger ball which then came crashing into the ground making everyone's feet rattle. A small cloud of debris was all that could be seen, until it finally cleared, revealing a small crater carved deeply into the stone floor.
"Wow Aiyne, that was quite impressive-" He paused as he collected his thoughts. "That is something to keep in mind as you and Gabriella train as well. I want Gabbe to practice forming larger balls of electricity, and for you to learn to retain a force field around her energy for long periods of time. However, do that in the dungeons, we don't need you two wrecking the castle."
“I simply came because a question occurred to me,” Kiera's voice was then overheard above the others. Vance turned his attention onto their necromancer seeing that she was looking straight at him. He studied her face and body language for he felt a strong vibe from Kiera that she was troubled by something. He then returned his focus onto Kiera's question, seeing that he would need more time to rethink in approaching Kiera. She was often reluctant to practice her abilities. “The planet is dying, I only wonder where we are to go next?” she finished with her question.
He was then approached by Kaine, who held out his arms that were covered in fur and paw paddings. They were rather cat like, though still held human-like features. Kaine pushed down on the center of his left paw and his claws were revealed, this was an achievement for Kaine. He then grabbed Kaine's shoulder firmly and smiled, staring into his eyes to show he was proud.
"It does please me to see you've all been practicing as I requested." Vance praised.
Kaine had then mentioned, “There….was a light, I saw it earlier in the sky, a star….maybe?”
Vance really thought nothing of his friend's statement. Seeing a star was nothing to worry about. But, then again he knew his faction wouldn't mention something unless it was important and alarming enough to check up on. He then sighed, returning to Kiera's question. He had hoped to wait in telling the faction about Eshara. Since they were all gathered around him he decided to share his new piece of information, seeing that the time had come to tell them.
"Well Kiera, I do happen to have something in mind." he spoke with authority, hinting that each of them should listen. "The Spirits have brought to my attention of another planet hosting human life awhile ago. As you all know, I've been searching for a world that holds everything we need to live comfortable lives. I've been learning of several new human planets through my own spirit creator, Gwydion. Humans are an easy race to conquer, that's why their worlds peak my interest. However, one planet stands out from the rest of them. This planet is called Eshara. The humans residing in this world are rather behind in their technology and advancements. Gwydion has sent me visions of the planet in its current state, and I have been planning a visit to Eshara rather soon. Let us all go for a walk now, we can check out this light Kaine has seen and discuss this further."

It was cold. Oh so very cold. And pitch dark. The stone floor was freezing beneath her skin, the roughness digging into her skin. a gentle drip of water could be heard from the corner.
Gabbe was curled in a ball, her clothing ripped and torn, laying in tatters around her. Her golden halo of hair was messy, dirt and grime caked in it. Her body shook with the cold, underfed and undernourished. Those men had come again. Those men who taunted her, abused her because they were frightened of what she was. But she was used to it. She just closed her eyes and forgot they were there. Or tried to.
Once upon a time she had fought against them. But she wasn't strong enough. They had soon beaten her into submission and now she didn't even try. She just lay there, imaging herself somewhere else, somewhere safe. This couldn't be all there was. It simply couldn't.
BANG! The noise echoed around the dank room.
Raising her head, Gabbe listened hard. Someone was up there. Someone was moving towards her.
"Help!" She croaked, barely a whisper and she tried to get to her feet. Her head swayed, and she clutched it desperately, stumbling towards the door. But it was too much. Fatigue won. Crashing to her knees, the tiny body crumpled at the foot of the door. It opened, light filling the room. That was the last thing she saw before darkness took her.
Of course it had been Vance. He'd found her and rescued her from the evil that had held her. Glancing at him now, she couldn't help but smile slightly, re-joining the conversation of the others, now that Keira and Kaine had joined them as well. But quickly, she wished she hadn't. They were leaving. This was planet was dying and they were forced to move on. But in the depths of her heart, Gabbe didn't want to move on. This was her home. This was where they lived. Here, there were no dangers. Not anymore But what if on this new planet there were men who were stronger, men who could harm her. They would split them up and harm each one of them, just like before. Fear gripped her heart as she listened to Vance talk about leaving.
"I don't want to leave," She blurted, her bright blue eyes wide and frightened. She gripped Falwich's arm, which was already through hers. For a moment, her cheeky attitude was completely lost and her vulnerability was shown for them all to see. She was almost like a child. Shaking her head, she looked to Vance. "I can't leave here. We can't leave. This is our home. What if there are others out there?" It was barely a whisper that left her lips, as she brushed her hair from her eyes, looking around at them each in turn, her innocence clear. She couldn't help it. She just didn't want to risk leaving and losing everything that they had built up since they had been joined together. If she could help it, she would do everything in her power to prevent them from leaving this planet. No matter what it took.
"Please....Don't let them choose to leave." She appealed silently to Falwich, her eyes flickering to him for a second. "I don't want to leave....I can't leave. Not now."
OOC Notes
The sky was clearing, simply amazing. He hadn’t seen the outsides too much as was, he was always working, but this was the off chance that no one was interested in the boy that could change his form, usually it was the same thing over and over again, meant for different crowds but people always came back. He wasn’t sure if it was to goggle over the freak or just because they had nothing better to do. It was nice to be outside, still in a cage but outside, it happened from time to time when they needed to clean out the storage areas, too much clustered, too much dust. Not much time left really, but the sky was a pale blue, never seemed like there was anything wrong going on, on the surface which it faced, a neutral observer.
A burning sensation brought him back, a yelp escaping his maw. That bolt had skimmed his arm leaving a nice tender spot, he jumped left to get away from it without really thinking about it, a quick look back and he saw the intensity of the ‘attack’. It had left a small crater where it struck the ground. Eyes forward, he heard the roar, and dodged another strike of lightning, it striking a few feet away this time. He looked about, nothing but rock and wasteland, not a real nice place to be in an electrical storm; he tucked behind a rock and watched the scenery around him.
The sky had darkened, there were more frequent strikes here and there. Was there something bothering Gabbe? He had to move a few times, as bolts hit the rocks he was around, he got peppered every now and then, with small rock bits, but nothing to big. There didn’t seem to be an end in sight to the storm as he glanced up again. He remembered just before he left on how she looked and smelled, she had a fear about her, and this storm was in no way natural. He watched as a few strikes hit the hillside, blowing holes into the ground, a thick glowing red forming in the holes that he saw. When had the surfaces crust got so thin? Now there was more than just the storm to worry about.
He made his way back the way he came, it seemed to be the only logical choice really, there was protection that way, and it seemed to get worse the farther he went out and lighter the more he came back to the group, he looked back at the wasteland, now ‘burning’. Smog erupting from where the lava hit the streams, or what used to be streams. If his friends couldn’t see this off in the distance, he didn’t know what to think really. There was a marvel in watching the planet burn on this small section, one that made him think about whether or not he wanted to stay, it would be one hundred times worse than this if the planet were to go all together. The lightning still raining all over the horizon, he thought a minute and licked his burn that he had received earlier, a bolt striking again close to him. He flinched and crouched near a large rock, trying to stay in the area to see if things cleared up.
After a few moments he had to move farther back, the storm seemed to be intensifying. He was running back when a flash made him look one way, and the bolt came right for him. He had a second to react; he thought about blocking, defense, a shield anything that he could have. The bolt hit shooting him off in some direction, his world spinning fast. A thud here as he his something, another thud, and then a final one and he was no longer airborne. He stayed inside his shell a moment longer, not daring to move, heat rising off of him. A turtle; that was the only thing he could think of. He morphed back into his human form, his hair a mess, he was streaked with soot, from the ground and he really didn’t feel the need or want to move. His body ached a little from the intensity of the electricity, but it hadn’t all gotten to him. He sat there a moment, and leaned back, something stiff, a wall? He looked back and found something, it used to be something anyway, but it was hard and could sustain his weight. Man did a nap sound good right now.
He looked around a moment, the area was a little familiar, and the storm wasn’t so close, the group should come right through here if they were still headed in this direction for their walk, good a little nap wouldn’t hurt much.

"My dear Gabriella," Vance began abruptly. "Do you really think I'd send any of you into danger? If we stay here, we will all die."
Vance grew impatient with his faction. He did not mean to be as blunt and harsh as he just was, but sometimes words just slipped out of him. He realized how accustomed they had all become to this land, this castle. Of course they would not want to leave the safety of this planet, the safety they themselves provided. However, Vance knew very well they were not safe. He recalled the conversation he had the other night with his creator, Gwydion, whom he had settled out to visit on his own. He had rested before the altar of Gwydion, which resided way out past the castle grounds within a dead wooded area. He sat there waiting for Gwydion's power to leak into his flesh and bones and soon enough sleep had claimed him. That was how he and Gwydion communicated.
"You have done well, child of mine." Gwydion greeted.
Vance kneeled, bowing before his creator to show his respect. He had come here for guidance and questions to be answered. He then glanced up and couldn't help but feel taken aback by the beautiful meadow that surrounded him. There was tall green grass that bristled in the wind and wild flowers stood tall, emitting a distinct scent that made Vance feel warm and calm. He then took notice of the large blob of light that floated a few meters in front of him. That was Gwydion. Vance was surprised to see vague outlines of Gwydion's unique figure. Vance was never able to see Gwydion's true form before. He then realized that Gwydion's glow was dim, and the light that had once flourished vibrantly was dissipating. Gwydion's head seemed to have two antlers that stood atop of it, along with a circlet that was just below his ears. He could only see the top half of Gwydion's glowing eyes and the bottom half of claws that appeared to be his two front legs. The rest was shrouded in light, hiding away the rest of Gwydion's true form. Suddenly, all of Vance's questions vanished and wariness began to fill his gut.
"Master... have you fallen ill?" Vance asked puzzled.
"Vance, my son, you have served the other spirits and I well. However, the Lands of Despair is reaching it's near end. As the land continues to die, so do we spirits, and we are not permitted to leave this world we've created and chose to give life. You on the other hand, you and the others may still have a chance. But, you do not have much time." Gwydion spoke.
"Master, I'm afraid I don't understand." Vance replied, sadness hinting in his voice.
Gwydion seemed to shift his position and light suddenly struck the pale blue sky above them. Clouds collided into one large cloud and colorful images began to form from the light that Gwydion beamed towards the sky. Vance watched as a black void appeared, he could see stars and several sphere shaped objects.
"What's this?" he asked being struck with curiosity.
"Planets, my son. Planets that also hold human life, in something otherwise known as space." Gwydion answered with his thundering voice.
"Where are you getting at, Master?"
"Though you and your faction are immortals, each of you are still human-like. You each require the same things as humans in order to continue to live strongly. Lado is being filled with deadly toxins that are trapped in it's atmosphere. Within a short time, these toxins will react and cause a deadly explosion of the planet, leaving nothing behind but dust particles that float in space."
Vance was silent, the news was indeed quite shocking. He was uncertain how to respond to a death sentence, but then he asked, "How much time do we have left?"
"It is not yet certain, Vance, but if you visit often, the answer will soon come to you." Gwydion replied. "Come closer my son."
Vance never hesitated to obey his creator, and he got up from his knees and walked towards Gwydion. He felt Gwydion's strong power radiate past him, through him, it was quite an overwhelming thing to feel. Though at the same time, Gwydion's might and power provided him a sense of security.
"Come, and touch my light Vance, I wish to grant you something." Gwydion said urging Vance to come.
Within seconds, Vance touched Gwydion's light and was instantly blinded and paralyzed. Energy pulsed through him, circulating throughout his body. He could not move an inch, he was stuck in his place. Suddenly, a sharp intensity of energy blasted through his chest thrusting him backwards. Vance stumbled on his feet trying to regain his balance. He gasped for air for his breath was short, and tingling sensations fizzled all over his skin. He glanced down at his hands, seeing them glowing with small sparkles of light dance around them. He gazed back up at Gwydion, his eyes wide yet full of life.
"What did you do to me?" Vance asked still trying to catch his breath.
"I have given you a new power Vance, the ability to teleport through the dimensions of space. It allows you to travel through voids and dark places in order to reach new planets and areas that lay within the galaxy. I've given you the power of six, Vance. I trust that you shall share this power amongst your faction when the time comes. May you grant the power evenly to your members, so that you all may travel through the dimensions of space." Gwydion explained.
Vance did not reply immediately, but only looked back down at his hands. They stopped glowing but he felt the strong pulse of energy course through his veins. He had already known not all that power was meant for him alone. He and his faction were equal with strength in their own ways. When his attention once again went back to Gwydion, he frowned seeing that his creator's light was further dimming.
"Master..." Vance started but trailed off.
"I've used some of the last of my strength to grant your gift, Vance. My time has now shortened. Now go, leave at once, you have much to think about." Gwydion ordered and within an instant, Vance was once again awake.
Vance then heard crackles and thundering. The castle would light up and darken once more in an instant. He then turned, his back facing the faction as he stared out the window. Thick, dark clouds had gathered and lightning was continuously forming. What truly baffled him was how the lightning kept striking the ground. He then realized Kaine had gone out there. He turned back towards his faction then said sternly, "We must go outside at once and find Kaine."
OOC Notes
With the arrival and rapid departure of Kaine had come some semblance of anticipation regarding an unknown light in the sky. It's nothing but a star, in a sky full of stars Falwich thought, this time keeping his thoughts imprisoned within his own mind. It was not his place to judge the instincts of his fellow immortals, yet a star seemed such a trivial matter and to him there was the far more pressing issue of enjoying himself without being forced to consider that there was more to life than that. In many ways he had a selfish point of view; preferring an ignorant perception of matters so that he might reach some higher level of personal fulfilment, yet it was this viewpoint that also created such an undiluted hatred of humankind and an unquenchable thirst for the suffering of their kind. And it was these feelings which bubbled instantaneously to the surface once Vance began to speak of other worlds with a mortal population.
The more Vance spoke, the more Falwich's anticipation grew. A chance, at last, to continue the advancement of his powers, for no reason more than to exterminate the vermin who would help him achieve this goal. It had occured to him that his life was nought but a viscious circle in regards to the need for those who he hated but humans gave him a purpose and that was a greater gift than any star in the sky.
But not everyone shared his view and this was made perfectly clear by Gabbe's tightened grip on his arm at the mention of leaving, followed shortly by her pleading voice both outside and inside his mind. Falwich had listened long enough, yet before he could reply or make any attempt to calm his friend, Vance spoke up again, stating in rude and brash terms that they would die should they choose not to leave. With his free hand now resting on Gabbe's shoulder for comfort, Falwich spoke up.
"While I do not wish to question the knowledge given to you by our great creators, perhaps it may be wise for you to return to Gwydion and request some manners, Vance." He spoke in smooth and easy tones which were a total contradiction to Vance's own authoritarian pitch. "We are not your enemies and we shall not stand in the way of what we all know must be done. We are your friends and this is our home. Is it not natural to be afraid?" At this point he turned and offered a small smile to Gabbe. "Of course it is. We all are, some perhaps more than others." A small sigh escaped his thin lips as he realised the time had come to make important decisions, all of them. "We all knew this time would come but there was no way of preparing for it." As if to reiterate his point, the forks of lightning pounding the ground outside intensified in frequency and savagery.
It was not Falwich's intention to make a challenge of power or to drive a stake between any members of the faction but Vance didn't have the way with words that he had and ocassionally someone had to keep him in check. Serious matters such as these were not the time for dismissals of their friends' feelings. Not to Falwich anyway. He had spent so long, so very long, with not even a guard for company before Vance showed up and as such he treasured each member of his new family and their individual emotions.
At the same moment as it occured to Vance, and most probably because it had occured to him, the thought crossed Falwich's mind that Kaine was outside. Before Vance had even finished his order the telepath had turned and started walking, arm still linked with Gabbe's.
I think we're going to need you out there he whispered in her mind. That lightning seems unfriendly.

She herself is torn on the matter, but recognizes its necessity in a very stark, deliberate way. Her death-sense is deeply ingrained, and she can feel the life ebbing away from the spirits, her own creator among them. With them, the planet itself rots from the inside out. So much pain, and all of it the doing of mankind. Of course, she maintains no illusions about the justice of the method she and the other chose to employ against them, for their pain too is acute and terrible. She wonders if she will ever enjoy another sleep uninterrupted by dreams of them.
The tension in the air palpitates, drawing her attention to a flashpoint of friction between Falwich and Vance. Kiera purses her lips, wishing such ills could be soothed with a word. But she has neither the demeanor nor the loquacity for the easing of ruffled feathers, and she knows this. Instead, she is quick to heed the imperative for action here, deciding that in the end, finding Kaine should be their priority anyway and that her compatriots are decent enough, one and all, to recognize this. She clears the gathering, legs eating the ground in swift strides. Her face, of course, betrays no emotion, but she treats the safety of her fellow faction members with the utmost gravitas. Within moments, she is outside, watching lightning hit the ground surprisingly close to their location- more times than she would have thought probable.
Her guest drifts beside her, but when she emerges into the open air, he alters himself to hover directly overhead, shielding her from the rain that as of yet was still not falling. The air smells of the characteristic negative ions, but right now it is just ominous clouds and dry lightning. Her eyes scan the horizon swiftly, looking for any irregularities in the landscape that would signal the presence of Kaine, shifted or otherwise. There. She hadn’t intended the thought to be audible, but she figures Falwich has heard it anyway and thus continues. He's out here, a dozen meters or so from the entrance. I'm going to check on him. It looks like the shapeshifter is slumped against a wall, perhaps unconscious.
Casting a wary glance at the sky, she plucks a few more spirits from the surrounding area and bids them watch out for the others. They wouldn’t be able to deflect lightning, of course, but they all possess limited degrees of tangibility and could probably shove someone out of the way if they sense a death impending (in this case, a deadly bolt of electricity). Her tread carries her swiftly towards their comrade, and she trusts her death-sense to warn her enough in advance if she’s about to be hit. It isn’t buzzing in the back of her mind right now, so she knows Kaine is most likely alive, but she checks his pulse to be certain, crouching and placing two fingers to his neck, standing immediately upon confirming her suspicions. “He’s alive,” she states, a slight note of relief in her tone. She’s invested in their livelihoods, as odd as she finds it, and frankly, she has no inclination of what she would do were one of them to die. That alone was what motivated her to participate in the war they waged against humankind. “Kaine, can you wake up? It’s dangerous to stay out here…” That’s the extent of her effort to rouse him, though. She’s not exactly the type to frantically shake people and yell, after all.

As soon as she thought of this, she felt the anger bubble in her chest. Her whole body began to tingle furiously, as she stood there, glaring, tensed and ready for a fight. Of course she'd never spoken a word of her past before now, though she was sure that Vance knew parts of it. And still he didn't understand her need to be safe. She could feel the pulse from the tips of her toes to the ends of her fingers. Flexing her hands, she tore her eyes from Vance, to look at Falwich, who had a comforting hand on her shoulder. He had come to her defence and she was grateful, because she wasn't sure that she could handle her anger anymore. Already, the storm was crashing outside, though she paid it no heed. All she could hear was the rush of blood in her ears and the thump of her heartbeat. No, she wouldn't leave. Not when there were those out there with the power to harm them. Humans. Humans were cruel, unjust. They would harm them if they went to another planet. She couldn't allow the others to go through with that again. Nor, could she survive it.
As Falwich spoke to Vance, Gabbe glanced back at him and felt another surge of anger towards him. How could he tear them away from this planet? She didn't care what the creators had told him. He was foolish. They were safe here. They could survive. They were immortal after all. How could he be so stupid?! A second later, a flash of lightening filled the corridor, just for a second, before it faded. It was closely followed by a rumble of thunder directly overhead. It was only then that Gabbe noticed the thick, gloomy clouds that now filled the sky, rolling towards them with a sudden fury and the constant flashes of electricity. Eyes widening, she glanced down at her palms. They were sparking with electricity, little jolts jumping between her fingers. Was she responsible for the furious storm? Did her fury cause such a storm? A storm where she had no control. Fear clutched at her heart. She was out of control. Her anger had caused that.
Someone was suddenly leading her away. Falwich. He spoke directly into her mind. Clutching his arm, she looked at him with frightened eyes, before switching them to Vance. Instantly they hardened, narrowing as she watched him address them all. Something in her gave up then. One of their faction was in danger and it was her fault. She'd never intended for Kaine to be caught in the storm. Damn, she'd never intending for the storm to happen. Guilt took her this time, wrapping itself around her heart and making it heavy. Looking to the others, she noticed Keira's absence from the group as well. That was two of them in danger because of her anger.
"I'm sorry. This is my fault." She whispered, though her eyes still had a steely glint. "But you will never understand Vance....You can never understand this. I can't leave. I won't leave. You'll be leaving without me." Shaking her head, she turned quickly, looking up at Falwich, clearing her throat as she addressed him mentally, even her thoughts were resigned and upset.
"I'm not sure I can control this Falwich. I've caused a storm that I can't put an end to."
As they stepped outside, Gabbe stopped dead, her face draining of colour. The storm blew around them, lightening continuously striking the ground, each time with a newfound fury. Even though Gabbe was no longer furious, it still raged around them, thunder booming overhead. On the dry ground, fires flickered, their dancing flames taunting those watching. They were spreading, covering more ground, reaching unimaginable heights. A sob caught in her throat. Her family were out in this. Glancing at Falwich, she released his arm, stepping away, shaking her head. It was as though she was frightened that she would harm him as well.
"What did I do?!" She thought desperately, tearing her eyes away to search for any signs of Kaine or Kiera. "I don't know how to control it! You have to help me! Please...." Her thoughts stopped as she looked directly upwards, eyes widening further. Pushing Falwich hard, she moved him out of the way, standing in front him. Seconds later a bolt struck the floor where they had been stood. She felt the heat of the blast across her skin, causing it to tingle once again, as her tiny little body shielded Falwich's larger one. Sparks of electricity spread across her skin and she was careful not to touch her companion, just in case the charge passed onto him, causing him pain.
"Come on..." She called over the noise of rumbling thunder. "I know I can do this...." Stepping away from him, onto the scorched earth where the bolt had struck, she crouched, making herself a smaller target. She could manipulate electricity, but she wasn't sure how it would work if she was struck suddenly by it. Focusing, she began trying to get all of the energy, the electrons to come to her, wiggling her fingers as she had when she created the ball what seemed like hours ago. The others could search for Kaine and Kiera. She had to at least try and get this storm under her control.

Elei took her golden staff, and upon contact a warm, familiar heat pulsed up her arm and spread throughout the entire body. This staff amplified her strength in any condition and was by far Elei’s most prized possession. If fallen into the wrong hands, well... Elei preferred not to ever image what would happen if it did. Moving out of the indian style position, her legs extended outwards until the very tips of her toes stretched and wiggled. Eye opened fully, and when this was does, her vision was increased tenfold. Elei’s eyesight was by far amazing. No other species she knew of could compare. What else was around this area, besides her star and Eshara? Without any other form of a plan or requirement, Elei settled on floating further out. It would be a game. How far could she fly off and still be able to see the detail of colors on her star... and so she was off, still one moment and zipping through space at top speed the next. When Elei flew, she flew. It was nearly impossible to catch her, her body of light blending in with the shooting stars. Her back was turned from the way she was moving, backwards almost, keeping her eyes on the star she was leaving. ”My star,” Elei said in her language of origin, a dialect which was on the verge of disappearing forever if she didn’t continue to speak to herself in it.
At this distance, Elei paused and held out her right hand. Touching the tip of her thumb to the tip of her index finger, she made a circle. Her star off in the distance fit perfectly in that circle she made, only small shades of blues and greens left to see as the yellow and red took over from this distance. “Ah ha,” Elei smirked, nose twitching playfully as her speed gradually came to a slow stop. “Goodbye, dragon star,” Elei spoke, and for the first time since this trip, Elei faced the opposite direction of space from the star to see what was ahead. Her fingers twitched upon realizing...
Something wasn’t right. What normally would be black nothingness was now a blanket of space with another light beginning to flicker. Was it another star maker? Someone else of her kind? That light was not there earlier this day, she would have noticed it even at the distance of her star. Nothing else was around and now there was. An interest sparked in Elei that lifted her spirits and caused her eyes to widen even more. If it was another of her kind, it would be an amazing shock. She hadn’t seen another Aduro since she was banished from her home planet. Could it really be luck, destiny, fate? At a speed even Elei was uncomfortable traveling at, she took off in naive bliss, mind flickering with ideas of what might be there at this light.. A friend, an enemy... or maybe nothing, just a star being reborn on it’s own? Whatever it may be, Elei was soon to figure out, jumping portal to portal through space to fill the gap between her and this new light. It was faint, but growing brighter at each second’s pass.
It was when Elei was just outside the gravitation pull of this light that she realized what it was. It was not a star in the slightest, nor did she notice another of her kind around. It was a dying planet, the atmosphere polluted with green and grey gasses that were now lighting up from a cast of light below. It was easy to tell the light was a combination of lava and fire, accompanied by what appeared to be a lightning storm. No wonder this planet seemed to light up from no where... it was on its final brink, and anything on the surface was bound to be consumed by the breaking crust eventually. Elei was very familiar with lightning storms. Almost every inhabited planet had their share of lightning storms. On the other hand, from what Elei could tell through the smog, this lightning was more severe, and seemed to being focusing its strikes in a particular area below.
If didn’t seem possible that inhabitants would be living here still, but yet Elei was getting a strange vibe that she wasn’t the only living presence in this region. Could it be there were survivors beneath the atmosphere, living in such harsh conditions? With another question needing to be answered, Elei decided that she would indeed travel inside this mess of a planet. Bracing herself, she summoned a forcefield barrier around her body, cloaking it from what would be a hot entrance into the planet’s gasses and clouds. Before completely throwing herself into the pull of gravity, Elei debated if she should mute all her light to go unnoticed, or do the opposite and make herself too bright to where it would be hard to see any details within her ball of light. The latter option, though obviously noticeable, seemed to be the better option at the time and so she went with it, herself and the space within her round forcefield lighting up like a ball of white fire. And within the planet she slipped, letting herself be sucked into the pull while maintained her balance and vision on the concentrated lightning storm. It seemed to be the epicenter for the fires that were spreading. It took about 20 minutes for Elei to slow herself down, right above the clouds that were producing the lightning storm. Underneath, their were tiny specks of life crawling around the surface.
“Impossible,” she muttered, Elei hidden safely in her ball of light. And through the clouds Elei dared to venture below, slowly but surely. A raindrop of light she appeared to be, tiny 4 foot frame halfway between the ground below and the storm of lightning above. The lifeforms below.... they looked like humans, but they didn’t give off the same energy that normal humans did. Whatever they were, Elei’s first impression was that indeed they were foolish or just plane crazy for being 1, outside during this storm, and 2, living on this dying planet. It was the ugliest planet Elei had seen in ages. And for this fact, she felt bad for the creatures below. Maybe they were stuck here to die a painful death. The last survivors of their planet. It was this newfound sympathy for these creatures below that Elei decided she would help them out and stop the lightning storm. Elei knew black magic, had been practicing a variety of spells for 200 hundred years now. Quelling the storm was in the elemental sect, something Elei was familiar with seeing as her own powers were heavily elemental. Taking a deep breath, Elei closed her eyes and reached out her hands, aiming them up towards the violent sky. An ancient chant followed, focusing the energy of the storm to dilute itself until the force was so watered down that the lightning didn’t have the force to reach the surface anymore.
“Success,” her voice whispered in a snake like tone, crossing her arms in her protected light bubble as she directed her attention back down to those below. Her curiosity for this kind was too much to ignore and Elei tossed aside any nervousness she should have felt away. She made her way down, right above the surface, but close enough to be in listening distance to these human-type creatures. Her eyes were wide and her held tilted to the side, slowly letting the forcefield around her dissipate until all was left was Elei floating there, arms at her side with her staff gripped tightly in her left hand. She was silent, and they were silent too.

Vance heard the relief in Kiera's voice at the same time that relief filled his own lungs. He could not help but noticed the burn mark on Kaine's arm. "He's wounded, on his arm," Vance said as Kiera tried urging Kaine to wake up. Suddenly the weather seemed to shift a little, the lightning stopped striking the ground and kept to the skies like a normal lightning storm would.
Hm, Gabbe must of caused this storm so it seems. It's lightening up though, did she gain control of it?
Vance felt curious and couldn't help but smirk. This storm was indeed powerful, and if anger was the core and reason for this storm, it was a good thing to keep in mind for when they'd travel to Eshara. He listened to the thunder as lightning continued to flash across the sky, but the electricity was weak now and no longer of any threat. Suddenly, Vance noticed something from the corner of his eye, something was a few meters away from each of them. There was something there in the sky, something he had never seen before. There was a strange figure floating staring at them. It had a blueish-gray tinted skin, and short strands of hair of blue hair that seemed to be in a bob cut. It's eyes were of a color he never saw before in a human or anything, and he took note of the staff it held tightly to it's side. He stood before Kaine and Kiera protectively, keeping his arm out motioning for them to stay back. He stared at the creature with fierce eyes, challenging the creature. He didn't bring his Greatsword with him, for this rescue mission was unexpected. Besides, with nothing really endangering he and his faction anymore, there was really no need to bring out his weapon that he learned to wield with great skill. He loved that sword, it was suitable for his personality indeed. At first he did not speak, he did not know how to react to this creature until he muttered under his breath, "What the hell is that thing?"

“He’s alive,” A somewhat relieved tone echoed through the landscape barely audible.
He was a moment ago dodging dangers that came from the skies, and the craters in the ground created by the bolts shooting down from the sky. He was hurt, this he knew but not bad enough to be floating in limbo, and this had to be a dream brought on by his nap.
“Kaine, can you wake up? It’s dangerous to stay out here…” Another almost inaudible tale echoed
Dangerous? There was nothing dangerous about this, it was filled with life; the area slowly began to dim as he lay there thinking on the voice unknown where it was coming from, it sounded familiar, but he didn’t have it in him to put his finger on it, instead distracted by the darkness rolling in on his landscape. A dark figure appearing before him momentarily, it reached for him.
His eyes snapped open; everything was glossy from sleep, the figure still before him. His hand grabbed the extended arm, removing it from his neck, holding on as if his life were in danger. He felt himself change, but not into anything he recognized, his attire, arm and hand matched the one he saw perfectly, but only a moment before it slipped away and his arm was his own again. In that moment the world was different, as if seeing through someone else’s eyes. Almost as fast as the flash of lightning that would warn of impeding doom a moment ago. What just happened? He realized the arm that he had was attached to Kiera, after his vision cleared, he released her, her eyes still on him a moment.
He tried to move slightly a little stiff a grunt escaping him. He forced himself to stand, a little unsteady at first but he could do it. They were here, well almost everyone. Some still a little ways off, but they had found him like he thought. The lightning had seemed to die down, it was still thundering and there was still lightning streaking the skies, but no strikes, it was as if it just lost its nerve mid fight and quit. Though the threat was still ominous in the area, he looked back at Kiera with his best puppy dog eyes.
“Sorry, …..if I hurt you. Thank you for checking in on me.” She wouldn’t care in a sense, at least that’s what he thought, anyone in his situation waking up to someone touching their throat should have the same instinct if they didn’t know/recognize the person in question, maybe that was just the animal instincts that he had contracted.
“What the hell is that thing?”
He heard it just barely, it caused his head to turn to Vance and then in the direction he was looking, he spotted …. Well something, he had never seen it before, something like a sprite/Pixie. He gawked a little at the new life form floating there, it didn’t seem dangerous. The staff had what seemed like a crystal that swirled with energy inside it, at a distance, it might look like a forming star, but the staff was way to little to project that much light, and it wasn’t so bright to reach out into the sky that far, but there were a lot of weird things going on today, from the star forming sometime tonight, to the electrical storm from hell, who knew.
He lifted his hand and pointed at the creature, not aggressively, and more at the swirling energies in the staff than her body, he had no idea what her customs were, he smiled slightly as he pointed back into the direction that he saw the star earlier, the sky a little clearer, cloudy but the star shined dimly through as they floated by.

Kiera opened her mouth to say something (she wasn’t exactly sure what), but promptly closed it again when her hand was released, and Kaine offered an apology. She shook her head slightly, causing a ripple in her mane of hair. “No harm done,” she replied. “Not the easiest way to wake up.” She probably would have done the same, if not have immediately laid into the person with her glaive. “Can you stand?” She offered a hand if he wanted it, but if he chose otherwise she’d simply let it drop back to her side without comment.
He pointed at something over her shoulder, and she rose from her half-crouch and turned, watching a resplendent orb of light descend from the sky. Spirit? No… it feels different somehow. This was not one of their creators, so what was it? From her position behind Vance, she could see that he was trying to defend them, arms outspread, a notion she found kind, but wholly unnecessary. Unlike him, she was never unarmed, and she detached the polearm from its place on her back, removing the protective sheath from the glaive’s bladed end.
She wasn’t an aggressive person by nature, but she was a protective one, and while she did not know if the being in the sky constituted a threat to the others, she wasn’t about to be caught flat-footed if it did. That said, she made no overtly threatening movements, merely stood where she was, behind and to the left of Vance, glaive gripped loosely in the long fingers of her left hand, regarding their visitor with well-hidden curiosity. She was well aware that there was still an injured friend behind her, and that Gabbe over there with Falwich wasn’t doing spectacularly either.
She could feel the din in the back of her mind growing louder, protesting to the foreign presence that even they could sense- or perhaps they were simply reacting to her. It wasn’t an exact science, and her avoidance of her abilities since their discovery meant that she wasn’t really trying too hard to figure it out. Still, she quieted the raucousness and tried to figure out exactly what her reaction to this event was. It would seem that the lightning had abated- the being’s doing? That assertion seemed to make sense, since she did not believe that Gabbe was presently capable of such a thing, else it would have been done already. But why? Why calm the storm and then descend? The first might simply have been enacted to make landing easier and not to help her friends in any way.
Her ingrained mistrust of anything outside the five people closest to her writ her posture in tense lines, muscles coiled uncomfortably tight underneath her skin as she warred internally both with her own instinct towards fight-or-flight and also the magnified presence of the dead, begging to fulfill her whims for naught but another chance at something resembling a life. It was almost maddening, that mental noise, the sensation of foreign claws digging into her consciousness, but she was too proud to let one hint of the struggle emerge onto her face. Inhaling deeply, she forced herself to relax a bit, casting her eyes all about the field, rather than simply at the large, bright sphere that bore ever earthward. Was there a chance this being was accompanied by others? It did not seem so.

Character stuck in a place of inaction? Can't make up their minds about something? Useless in a given situation/not wanting to mess with other people's character interaction? Introspection time!
