Re: [OOC] Upheaval
I'm interested, but I need to ask one thing. If a person had a ability to make what they said into god's word in the minds of other people, would that be too overpowered? For Example: Man says he is invisiable, therefore any one whom heard him would no longe be able to see him.
Re: [OOC] Upheaval
Would the ability to occupy the same space as a seperate object be overpowered?
Call this thing 'melding'. What it would do would allow the user to touch any 'thing', and have it absorb his body. While, in a sense, the user 'is' the chosen thing, he has limited perception around the thing, and suffers any damage, or alterations, made to the thing.
Not very clear, is it?
Say, I could meld with a wall, and come out the other side. However, should the wall have a hammer swung at it, I would, upon exit, have wounds relative to the damage that the wall suffered.
later improvements would include the ability to meld with living things, smaller things, and perhaps even use something as part of himself (ie: a telescope/camera to see better, a computer to think faster...)

Re: [OOC] Upheaval
I would call Superman overpowered. Not to say you can't grow more powerful as the RP progresses, which you can. But when you start out its mostly very lowpowered.
Re: [OOC] Upheaval
I'd really like to try this one out. I have a few ideas for powers, most of them dealing with the elements. You said not "overpowered" before - would you consider the X-Men or Superman too overpowered? Or are we looking a smaller abilities than any of them would have?
Re: [OOC] Upheaval
As long as they arn't overpowered, I don't have any problems with it. I like originality/creativity though, not only in the creation, but the use of said powers.
Re: [OOC] Upheaval
This could be interesting.
Any limits as to the powers? (likes the idea of side-effects)

[OOC] Upheaval
This is the auto-generated OOC topic for the roleplay "Upheaval"
In a city in mid-west America something is about to happen. A minor mystery virus outbreak has everyone on edge but with modern medicine it's treated as an inconvenience. School has just let out, and summer is in full swing. The lake has parties like clockwork and so do the warehouses in downtown. The Ridges inhabitants hold their own private balls and the like. Downtown crime is once again on the rise. Everything is normal...for now.
What if you, an average everyday teenager, was somehow endowed with a unique "superpower"? What would you do with it? Would you use it for personal gain, or would you use it for the good of others? Would you even differentiate from the two? What would be your motivation for you? Personal vendetta, moral code, boredom, all of the above? Would you enjoy your new situation like a blessing, or hate it like a curse? Would you hide it away and try and fit in, or inadvertently become an icon with it?...

So, you are one of the adolescents, teenager, and young adults in the city of Cottondale, and your about to catch one nasty virus!
Oh yeah, did I mention that on top of trying to survive through your summer vacation, your also gonna be receiving some strange side-effects from the virus?
Soon you'll have a choice of morality on your hands. To use your powers for good, evil, both, or neither. You decide.
Character sheet should include your 'powers' or changes somewhere in them.
