Introduction
Choose your life. Will you live by honor? By spirtual might? Or will you live in the shadows? It is the onset of the Onin War between two rival factions: The Hosokawa and the Yanama. Samurais, Shinobi, and warrior monks called Sohei all gather around their lords vying for supremacy. Which side will you choose in this historic battle that takes place not only in battlefields far away, but inside castle keeps.
The Way of the Samurai role-play somewhat loosely based on several factors; the imaginative choose-your-destiny genre game of the same name and the hack-n-slash genre of the series Samurai Warriors, but also history in itself.

Rules
This will be an entirely human role-play. That means no techniques that make your character move at "godlike" speeds of Rurouni Kenshin nor the "flash step" of Bleach or anything that remotely resembles those examples. Human beings can achieve nealy impossible feats of speed, but its only 'nearly' impossible.
No godmodding; i.e making your character unkillable in the likely hood that you and another character wish or care to fight. Both must give consent to.
This RP coincides with history, but it is a fantasy- that means simply, we may change history, warp the out come and change decisive battles.
Characters must choose; either be a samurai, a shinobi, or a sohei. For those whose Japanese is nonexistant or simply bad, a Sohei is a Buddhist warrior monk, and a shinobi is a ninja, shinoi is technically what they are really called.
THIS RP IS CLOSED
You don't need to know exact Japanese to join, I just do it because I feel it makes it more authentic.
Affiliates may hold duels either to the death entirely {Needs both members consent.} or a duel to just represent a fight scene which may or may not result entirely in death.

No, I'm afraid not. This involves only Japanese peoples. Though both the Guan Dao glaive as well as the dao sabre, DaoDao and Miao Dao aswell the Jian straight sword are all very good weapons- The Naginata is very much like the Dao glaive though, except it doesn't carry the bulk so its a lot more efficient.
